Holy cow! That's freaking loud!
68-70dB is Busy traffic, phone ringtone type loud. I found, because the are 140mm fans the sound is quite low pitched. But the sound of air moving at 100cfm is going to make some noise no matter what you do.

LOL, you have to give it to Bitmain, now selling S1s in two's ... didn't see that one coming ... but can appreciate why they are doing it.
Can't be long before they stop the S1, move to smaller chips and the S2 (renamed the S3?) appears.
... so that buggers up those coupons ... only worth half their original value now, as only one per order can be used.
Actually no, you can use 2 coupons for one order of 2 MOQ Ant S1's Maximum 2 coupons per order. So price will drop to 0.82Btc Er.. yeah.

I installed it on my Synology NAS (409) works great.
Notes:
Few bugs in 1.1.0 in that the monitoring doesn't disable. And some interface glitches when adding miners, but fixable.
Would like the HW error monitoring to be % based rather than a fixed number, because ASIC miners have HW errors in the 1,000's but the overall % is usually less than 1% to be acceptable.
Would be great to have email alerts for the monitoring.
Otherwise I donated, everyone who uses this should too its awesome!

This has already been answered: So you are basically using your coupons on the S2 units and bitmain is reducing the price to $2000 or less by 25th of may. only difference is you are getting them as a preorder now. am I right?
Hi, No we are not using any coupon is a special GB price you can still use your coupons with Bitmain or Us to get discounts over list price. Regards No it hasn't I got it wrong as well, Collider is not asking about the group buy he is asking about the S2+Hosting deal at 112bit.com for $3,249.00 Collider $1650 + $1050 = $2700 which is cheaper, but I guess if you want it now.

This is a SCAM! Stay away!!!
Coming from a competitor distributor I'm not a distributor, just organizing Group Buys. We saw many scams here on the forum and I was active like here before organizing any Group Buy. Feel free to check my post history prior to March 2014. The fact that the product isn't available on the website + the fact that we don't see a single live hashing makes it strange for me. Until proven otherwise I can only suspect scam. Another reason to make me think there is something shady is the fact that when I've asked for a live demo the OP laughed about my GB. Very professional. Show me live demo and I will retract my statements. You MAY be legit, but there is not a single proof to show that until now. You have to be some type of distributor...every post you make is about SP units..or you get paid something. I am a fanboi of SP-Tech, before that I was a regular miner since last year and I was/am supporting all the good miners and I'm trying to unmask shady companies. I did it with VMC here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=253282.0 and I will keep doing it no matter what. Last autumn I was supporting KnC and their Jupiter miners. Now SP-Tech is the best company and I support them! They launched in March. I am active in the Mining forum for more than 1 year. I see nothing wrong in asking legit questions regarding this company and this miner. It seems that jjj0923 can't answer questions so that makes it strange for me and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. +1 Roadstress may be "enthusiastic" about his current favourite manufacturer but he is and has been no less so about other companies that provided him with good equipment in the past. He's also adept, as are most of us who have been mining and posting here for a while, at sniffing out what appears to be a scam. Now, I'm not saying this is a scam, but it doesn't take much to prove its not a scam. And I also would advise anyone not to send any money or coins until its sample units have been independently verified.

Ok, I have a 1Th/s S2 Antminer and while I am enjoying its returns currently, I want to enter the lottery and solo mine bitcoins and other coins from time to time.
Q - Has anyone to date, been able to configure this mining machine to solo mine? I have tried every combination I can think of but to no avail. I can get it to go live on my local IP connecting to Bitcoin-Qt but it does not hash and the beepers sounds after about 1 minute.
I have even contacted Bitmain but they have not been helpful at all.
Any advice appreciated at this point (APART FROM POOL ADDICTS WHO WILL ADVISE NOT TO SOLO MINE)
Buy a few s-1's . with your risking taking set of courage (ie balls) it is a good idea you can get 2 for .92btc if you have coupons 2 for .82btc if you undervolt and under clock them to 150gh and 200 watts. you solo mine with 300gh. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526060.0 this is the under volt under clock thread. if you do take this on and get the s-1s working as solo miners please let us know. I have 7 s-1's I do not know how to solo mine them. I would not mind running 1 or 2 as solo miners. An easy way to solo mine is point them here: http://bitsolo.net/You know what I might just point one of my S2 to BitSolo or Solopool - I might get lucky or not... probably not... Hmm: http://bitsolo.net/pool-stats/Found Blocks None. Currently, no one on Bitsolo has found a Bitcoin block ...
The pool is merge mining NMC coins and has currently found 1 NMC block

From earlier postings by the op Hosting : yes Access: not mentioned Coupons: not in this group buy

I honestly have no idea how in the world this works. I BUY bids... I assume they are non refundable. You place BIDS, but how much does a BID mean.... I see a BUY bids link but no way to exchange BIDS to BTC or however. To me its really not the best system IMHO. The page looks nice but the system sounds like some sort of shell game scam which makes me MORE hesitant. If the site owned and is selling that item, then it makes more sense but I honestly cant figure this thing out to really be safe at all here. Sorry.
Maybe it could be discussed in a thread where scammers and their prey could hash it out rather than this thread.

Yeah the blackarrow deal worked well for their customers, they still haven't received anything. BITMAIN is very unique in the industry, and its paying dividends for them. Yes they may have mined tested their S1 equipment for a while before shipping but at least they shipped from stock. Really, its not unusual for early adopters to pay more for mining hardware, after all they get to start mining much earlier and ergo earn more bitcoin. You pay to get into the queue earlier. What, I would imagine, would butt hurt is, if a group buy comes along and gets in on your delivery batch that you payed more for. What also hurts is if your supplier sends your hardware by USPS and it takes 15 days, well now most likely with the weekend coming 18 days to get delivered.

Thanks.
Lets put it this way I felt impelled to replace the fans on the Dragon
|
|
|
Not sure why you need a server so much, just put it on dropbox.
|
|
|
Just wondering which is quieter. I've got a dragon and wondered if the S2 was any quieter.
S2 is quieter with stock fans. Its also a different type of noise with the S2 using 140mm fans and the S2 using 120mm fans. Both make a fair bit of noise when the ambient temperature is hot enough for the fans to run full speed.

the S1s come and go. but pretty stable.
i have one that likes to hang and go bright solid green led on me - still uncertain what it means but its rare so i dont worry.
the s2 has been solid since i got it going and just as im typing this the fkr comes back to life for about 3 seconds...
up until today i was happy with its stability over anything else.
now its beeping at me again....
its annoying cos if it was the network it would affect them all.
and its just this one.
so far....
support told me the PSU's can overheat quite easily in the earlier batches, try running it with the PSU outside the case. Or with the case open and a fan pointed directly into the innards,
