@roadstress

Not sure what you're trying to say.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they basically sacrafice quietness and/or coolness so they can have a heat density about twice as much as most modern DCs can handle?

Again, why not double the size of the heatsinks and use quieter or more powerful 120mm fans?

I'm saying that you are reviving a topic which was already covered like always.

In my view they traded heavier units which cost more (because of the bigger radiator+more shipping fees) for a more compact case with a few more dB. I don't think they sacrificed the coolness considering their job with the SP10. While SP10 hashes a bit better in a cooler environment, the performance increase is not that big to worth the costs of better cooling in form of a bigger case with bigger radiators so I am sure that they will achieve the perfect balance on the SP30 too. Just wait a few more days and you will see.

400cfm is really not much for 2.6kw.

Way ahead of you jimmothy Smiley

SyRenity please address the issue of SP30 heat dissipation. How do you plan to dissipate 2500W from that small case?

Answer from the team:
Quote
When designing a cooling solution, the most important factor is the heat density, rather then the performance or the total amount of the dissipated heat. The second factor would be the max allowed ASIC’s Tj.

You are right, we are going to maintain the same air flow cooling mechanism for the SP30 as well. We going to use a custom heat sink that was designed and manufactured according to ASIC’s heat dense and Tj with 80mm Fans with a total of ~300 CFM.

The heat sink will be composed of Aluminum K=167 W/m*K 6061 T6 and copper base attached to the ASICs themselves.
The entire design is backed up with a thermal analysis simulations that we are performing as part of the mechanical and electrical design process

super tldr, no.

Super tldr? I'm sorry, I'm still somewhat of a newbie  Wink

super tldr, no.

Yes.  How much does it cost?

$1.32/ea in low Qty.  Buy >1000 and it drops to $0.57/unit.

What's the hashrate that it could achieve? I'm asking just to see if this chip could've smashed the FPGAs.

Ken has stolen all of the bitcoins, has directed the mining farm into his own pocket and is now using what's left to fight his various legal battles.

Ken has won, the scammer has won.

$3,200 per unit would be a fair price giving a 90 day ROI: https://tradeblock.com/mining/a/ba679b3ec5

This does assume quite a low power / hosting charge.

The difficulty is just wrong there.
2130  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 - Specs: 6TH/s + 0.46W/GH on: July 15, 2014, 09:10:15 AM
Are you forgetting spondoolies goal of 5,000 sp30/month?(soon to be 5,000 sp50/month) Or asicminers huge production capacity? Or megabigpowers "up to 50ph/month" franchising program? Or 21e6's secret mining operation? Or bitfurys 20MW mine? Bitmain? Avalon?

The list goes on..

AsicMiner may have a huge production capacity, but the sales are damn slow. What happened with 100PH+ in 2 months?
2131  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New venture, lets talk profitability and ROI on: July 14, 2014, 11:48:41 PM
I think most of people here are just wrong. They all asume price of Bitcoin will remain at 600$. Cmon we all know that is bullshit and there is a big bump coming really soon. If i were you, i'd invest 20k$ in mining hardware, and 10k$ in BTC, i'm sorry that i can't help you choose hardware, i'm not following that scene to be honest, but i'm really sure price of BTC will rocket till the end of 2014. Trust me, you will be sorry if you didn't buy at 600$.

I am following the mining hardware scene, but I would recommend you the same thing. 20k$ in hardware and 10k$ in BTC. Best bet!
2132  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin difficulty may actually go down in ~7 days! on: July 14, 2014, 10:48:23 PM
Now, the one thing that's going in the S3's favor is the form factor.  The SP30 is harder for the home hasher to deploy since it's rackmount and it's going to be loud as all heck with all those fans.  For us in a datacenter setting it makes more sense for the rackmount as our S1 deployment is nice but kludgey.

SP30 will be less noisy than the SP10, but yes the datacenter setting is preferred for various reasons.
2133  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Next diff increase 3% (in 50 minutes) on: July 14, 2014, 10:46:05 PM
luck could cause +- 10%  so a 13% true  jump could be 15%  for the high end and 11% for the low end.

along with  the summer's heat and power hungry gear being shut down.  I just don't see  diff jumps above 18% avg.  my guess is 10-15% avg for the next 5 jumps.

Smiley Where is everyone that claimed 20%+ every jump until December?

So what was the real reason for all the drama, bullshit and false 50 btc payment claims?

Strange and also now very quiet  Huh

Still think it is bullshit?  Wrong.  This shit is real.

I aint' makin nothin up.

Ok. Just don't send any money and report that user to the mods. And it's not so hard to notice the wrong forum name plus the fact that the way of talking is totally different.

This is all mostly your fault RoadStress - why don't you just lead the GroupBuy for the SP50?  At least that way, we all know we are safe.

Send me 10 BTC and I will do it.

5pondoolies-Tech!!

rawdog, are You crazy to pay someone on the forum?

Or are You that 5pondoolies-Tech  scammer as we saw Road.Stress?

OMG!  I didn't see that.  Those aholes.  I sent them 50 BTC already and I was just about to send 50 more.  I can't believe scammers take advantage of everyone.  Bitcoin is plagued with thieves and cheats.  What a vulgar bunch of idiots in this community.  I am so pissed right now.

I know Spondoolies is for real.  But I didn't see those fake assholes who sent fake PM's and signed Spondoolies-Tech.  Why do they have to do this?  They ruin everything.

I'll still order from Guy - but everyone else better watch out for PMs which come from tricky thieves.  We have to find a way to stop spoofing.

PS - I am still excited to be the first among the SP50 owners.  Can't wait.

This was fun at start, but now it's getting boring.

6xSP30 miners will give you 36Th/s and will require only 16.2kW of power, but don't take for granted what I say. Have it as a starting point. Do your own research first.
2138  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 14, 2014, 06:20:05 PM
I don't know what drugs you are smoking man, but I am getting in early on this one.  No sarcasm at all.  SP50s are coming and I am not going to be late this time. I'll buy 10 if the price is good.  But for sure I'll sign up for 10 on the preorder.

RoadStress - is it OK if we just use the last GroupBuy address?  If you still have the keys, I'll send 5BTC today for 10XSP50s reservation.

edit:
I just got a PM!!  It looks like the design ceiling is 20Th/s!  That is insane.  I wonder what the chipset / footprint looks like which can achieve that.  These guys are crazy.  I love it.

Don't send any money please. You will have plenty of time to order your units and maybe I will organize a GB then.
2139  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How high do you think the S3's will clock to? on: July 14, 2014, 05:29:38 PM

C'mon haven't you learned anything? It's an obvious scam. Shipping in July, but only rendered photos? It's so obvious.

Edit: No team, no real address, no real demo etc. SCAM!
