But if we talk about Newcastle, we can say that so far Newcastle have played very well and are very different from last season. and many would say that this season Newcastle has truly exceeded any of our expectations.
Newcastle are absolutely a different team this season, and they will get better next season and going forward because now the club has the funds to buy quality players, what they have to do now is to make it possible for themselves to allure these quality players and the perfect way to do it would be to qualify for the CL next season by finishing in the top four this season.

Having said that, the point apiece for Arsenal and Newcastle is good result for the both of them. It is going to be extremely difficult for Newcastle to finish in the top four, but with their recent performances they might be able to achieve it if they maintain this their consistency.
2122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you don't get the merit, the ranking won't go up? on: January 03, 2023, 09:32:31 PM
I just created my account today after scrolling through these forums for a few months. I am a newbie who doesn't have the intricate knowledge of cryptocurrency so how can I contribute to topics if I have no knowledge on them? I am going to start researching and reading a lot in the next few days and hopefully get merited. Thanks for your suggestion! Smiley
Mind you too that earning merits do not come quite fast for most users, though there are some exceptional users that have Bitcoin/crypto/any unique knowledge even before they ever became a user on this forum, thus earning merits could be easier for such users even in their early days in their forum, but the thing is that most users aren't like that, that is why it is usually a slow and interesting process for most.

Having said that, since you are a newbie don't forget to take your time to learn, if you do not have knowledge to contribute to topics now, then don't, use this time to garner that essential knowledge. You also don't have to hope to get merited, or to post solely to get merited, just garner knowledge and contribute to the forum because you want to discuss/communicate and you'd definitely get merits.
2123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 03, 2023, 05:35:15 PM
When I look at today's matches, I see that it is a very important match. Maybe the fate of the league depends on this match. Arsenal-Newcastle united match is an important match in terms of changing the course of the league. If Arsenal gets 3 points with a good game, they will take the psychological advantage. Otherwise city will get closer to arsenal. If Arsenal wants to win the championship this year, I think they absolutely have to win this match no matter what.
There is no doubt that this game is a very important game for both Arsenal and Newcastle, but it definitely isn't a title decider and the fate of the league doesn't depend on it. I mean, Arsenal are already 7 points ahead in the table, it is not like they will lose top spot if they lose today and City wins on Thursday, if it happens in this way they'll still have the lead by at least 4 points which is quite great.

Having said that, Arsenal would definitely want to win, of course they would, and i think they have all it takes to do it, but what i mean is that, losing won't be the end of the world for them, they would still remain at the summit of the table no matter the outcome of these games. City themselves have a tough opponent in Chelsea on Thursday, and with their pretty bad form they aren't even guaranteed to win.
2124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 02, 2023, 05:20:56 PM
After Chelsea brought in Aubameyang I thought the team will improve very quick.  But I'm not seeing any improvement from Chelsea instead.  Most of the big teams in the English  premier league are showing improvement but only Chelsea is still remaining stagnant,   no improvement at all.
Aubameyang is no longer a top quality footballer, i actually thought Chelsea would make a move for Ronaldo before he went to Al Nassr, but that wasn't to be, i guess they had other ideas in their head. Having said that, Chelsea's problem isn't solely on Aubameyang, it is a team issue, Sterling that came into the team in the summer from City isn't doing too great, but prolly not too bad as well. The thing is, at this point in time Chelsea look quite average, they do not have that top club mentality anymore, and imo that problem stems from the manager Graham Potter, he isn't a big club manager and i have said it a couple of times before, Chelsea deserve better and i don't think they'll achieve much, if anything with Graham Potter as their coach.
2125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters, how much you really earned in the last two years? on: January 02, 2023, 02:01:11 PM
I open bounty forums every day, but I don't think I can start, I don't know how to choose the right one. I have very little experience and am still learning. I hope that the projects I find can last for a long time. See everyone discussing that the bounty campaign was the peak six or seven years ago...
The thing is, it is pretty difficult, highly improbably and almost impossible to choose the right bounty project, quite a lot of them are scam projects built on fake promises that would never come to fruition, thus people waste their time promoting and investing in them and in the end they only enrich the project owners whilst they are left with only wasted time, effort and worthless coins.

Having said that, if you are a regular in the forum you must have read bounty hunters complain that more often than not they work for free, in that they advertise for a project for months, only for the project manager to refuse them payment in the last minute due to one weak excuse/reason or the other. If you still choose to start bounty campaigns after all you've read people say about it, then it is up to you, but you'd be better off doing something more productive in the network.
2126  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija Reps & Cryptocurrency Palava on: January 02, 2023, 12:29:37 PM
Nor be lie say our country go soon dey accept crypto, that one dey very expected and na normal something wey go occur as far crypto still dey the background
You they talk about Naija making Bitcoin legal tender? I no sure about that one oh, me i no believe say Naija go make decentralized currency like Bitcoin a legal tender, i they use Bitcoin talk because na the crypto wey popular pass and the only one wey stand any chance to be legal tender for any country for the whole world.

If you they talk say merchants go soon they accept crypto, that one concern the merchant because crypto no they illegal for Naija, person fit accept crypto if them want, Naija government no make crypto trade illegal, the only thing wey them do na to block link between Naija banks and crypto exchanges, that is all. So as the matter be so, crypto is fully accepted in Nigeria, e no be legal tender, but e no they illegal, banks no follow for crypto matter again, but P2P they.
2127  Economy / Economics / Re: The world continues dumping US dollar (Gold, New World Order, World War III) on: January 02, 2023, 10:15:38 AM
I am really surprised that gold has been performing so well in the last 2 months, because the rest of 2022 it was not moving at all. Still remembering my grandparents telling me that gold is the best investment when the world is in trouble, but when the Russia Ukraine war started and we reached double digit inflation rates nothing happened to gold.
The price of gold doesn't move spontaneously, it isn't a volatile asset and that is why it is relatively safe and prolly the most perfect hedge to inflation. Your grandparents are correct because gold is a store of value/safe haven asset, so what they meant by it is a great investment when the world is in trouble is that it can retain its value for a very long time, even amidst crisis and wars, it doesn't mean it 'multiplies' the value anyway.
Maybe we going to see gold become the number currency for international trade again if the Dollar dumping continues. This could be also good for crypto currencies as they are an alternative to gold for protecting our money.
Tbh i sincerely don't think we'd see that, some countries may be dumping dollar, but i disagree that it would be completely replaced by gold as the currency of international trade. Crypto doesn't technically protect people's money, a whole lot of them are scam/fake coins; Bitcoin is different though, and it can be a hedge to devaluation, but it is quite volatile in short term.
2128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 02, 2023, 09:35:29 AM
I think Liverpool will score 2 goals in this game.  There will be victory in the match. Liverpool is a very strong team from Brentford. I will support Liverpool in this game. Liverpool team has many good quality players.
One thing that is certain is that Brentford are going to cause Liverpool quite a lot of problems, just as they do to most of their opposition, especially the big teams in the League. Brentford are having a very good season to say the least, the fact that they are just 5 points behind Liverpool proves that fact to be true. If Liverpool were playing this game at home then i'd say they'll win, but with their current form and going away from home to Brentford is shaping up to be an interesting game with an upset waiting to happen.
2129  Economy / Reputation / Re: [2023/01/01] Happy New year Bitcointalk on: January 01, 2023, 10:14:13 PM
Happy New Year. Still a few hours away for me but a decent portion of the world has celebrated the new year already. I wish you all the best for 2023 and remember to get health checks throughout 2023 so nothing creeps up on you or your families.
Quite right, health is wealth is a very popular axiom, and it is true; we cannot use Bitcoin if we aren't healthy, we can do prolly nothing if our health fails us, so health checks are very important in detecting problems early and finding possible solutions to them.

Yahoo our hearts are definitely solidly with you, get ready for a fun-filled 2023 because soon i believe everything will be over and you will be fine and healthy. Happy New Year to every bitcointalk user, in sound health and wealth.

2131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 01, 2023, 04:44:30 PM
Tottenham are having bad times after the world cup break as they got only 1 point from 2 matches against weak teams, that's not looking good for this team and they seems close from losing the European promotion spot, now they have a complicated match next round against crystal balace and they must prepare well for it
TBH i don't think Spurs are going to be competitors in the EPL or CL with Antonio Conte as their manager, it isn't working between him and the players, and i am pretty sure it boils down to his coaching philosophies which i don't really admire to say the least. Spurs spend a good amount of money on transfers every season, but yet they cannot compete consistently for the title. Imo, they need a new manager that would suit the team, a manager that is more open to attacking football and fluidity, because they have the quality of players to play as open as they like.

Having said that, Spurs are 5th on the table right now, with Liverpool breathing down their necks in 6th place, and with a game in hand too, i think it is only a matter of time before Conte's men find themselves far away from the top 4.
2132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 31, 2022, 07:21:18 PM
Nevertheless I think Ronaldo is happy with his recent move and that's all that matters.
I wouldn't say Ronaldo is happy moving to Al Nassr, i am pretty sure the Portuguese superstar still believes he can perform at the top/elite level in Europe, and tbh i think he can, but no elite club seems to be interested in him anymore, and also age might have just caught up with him. Ronaldo had once said he would love to finish his career at the top level, but i guess in life we don't always get our wish, but nonetheless he is obviously one of the greatest of all times, and most players were done when they were 33/34/35, but he went on until 37, and his turbulent time at United was the beginning of the end. Al Nassr have a nice project and Ronaldo would help them grow it, he would also earn so much, both in money and other benefits, he deserves it and i wish him all the best.
2133  Economy / Economics / Re: Legal methods of acquiring free assets on: December 31, 2022, 06:09:58 PM
Are there good methods of legally acquiring free assets people would like to share?
I don't think there is any method to acquire a valuable asset for free, except you are prolly inheriting them from your family or something. In the case of this earthmoving equipments that are old and prolly spoilt, no one is going to give them to you for free unless they know you would spend a fortune in making it work again, and it prolly might not, or it could spoil again after a few weeks/months of your repair. Thus i don't think you are even getting them for free per se, because you are definitely going to put in time and resources into something that might turn out unsuccessful.
In crypto, we have airdrops and faucets which have somewhat fallen by the wayside and become forgotten it seems. Is there a way to revive interest in faucets and airdrops? How could it be done, how would you do it?
Airdrops and faucets are still around i guess, just that people don't see it as being worth their time, it is still along the lines of something that is free would prolly not be worth anything for you. Many of these airdrops also request people to submit their data, thus exchange of ones data for worthless coins is never a bargain.
Mining also used to be a good method of acquiring free assets. Is it possible to revive crypto mining?
Do you mean cloud mining? Turns out it is mostly a scam nowadays to enrich the scammer running/providing the service.
2134  Other / Meta / Re: What one change would you like to see in bitcointalk in 2023 on: December 31, 2022, 05:27:28 PM
When I started the topic, I had in the back of my mind that there will be people who will come and say, that one thing that bitcointalk should do is to stop the Signatures. Whenever there is a debate of removing spam from the forum, the idea of getting rid of signatures is always thrown by a few members.

Although, I do not agree with this idea, but since no one asked for this change in this thread, so I guess people have changed their minds on
it  Roll Eyes
Paid signature campaigns are a tremendous part of this forum as regards traffic, we cannot argue with the fact that removing signature campaigns would definitely affect the forum traffic, i don't mean it would run it to the ground, but truth be told, many users wouldn't post quite frequently, and it is fine/normal/acceptable. There is nothing wrong with paid signature campaigns and suggesting to remove it to combat spam is quite too much to ask, spammers hardly ever make it into signature campaigns because they can't rank up due to the merit system, they are in one bounty campaign or the other, thus it is futile hindering the activity of good users who earn from the forum through their good posts, it might combat spam but it would be a pyrrhic victory.
2135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 31, 2022, 04:00:28 PM
Of course it has been the same for Arsenal as well considering their results so far. But let's see how strong Arsenal defense will be able to hold them and especially Haaland.
I am pretty sure that Erling Haaland prolly scoring against Arsenal wouldn't be any problem for the Emirates club as long as they win the match, i don't think they would even be thinking about that game right now, they must take things every game at a time, and the most important game for them is the next one, and not when they eventually meet Manchester City.

Having said that, It is half time in the City v Everton game, but i must say it has been an interesting and feisty one, prolly a difficult game for the referee to control, but he is doing well, Haaland is at the center of it all as he has had numerous altercations with the Everton back line, i am pretty sure Pep would have to calm him down in the dressing room for the second half, he is already on a yellow card, he wouldn't want him sent off even after scoring a goal and would prolly score more in the second half.
2136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 30, 2022, 02:18:49 PM
after E. Haaland scored 2 goals in his last league match vs. leeds united here is a statistic that shows that the norwegian striker who plays for 'the citizens' has now scored more goals alone than e.g. fc chelsea or other pl clubs
Erling Haaland has had an absolutely unbelievable start to life at the Etihad, 20 EPL goals after just 15 games and 23 left to play is just unprecedented. He has also broken the record and is now the fastest player to score 20 EPL goals, the record which was formerly held by Kevin phillips who reached that feat after just 21 games, Erling Haaland now holds the record with just 15 games played. Having said that, i believe Haaland would have his eyes on Salah's record of most goals scored in a single season (32 goals), i believe it is very possible for Haaland to break that record, he has 23 games left to play this season (that's if he doesn't get injured again). Anyway all these goal records wouldn't matter too much if City do not successfully defend their crown.
2137  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The high increase of insecurities in Nigeria, how do we combat this? on: December 30, 2022, 10:18:03 AM
Insecurity na better wahala for our country today, most people just they lowkey, because if you too show yourself them fit kidnap you sharperly. I know men wey bin wan buy car this year, but they comot the idea from their mind so them no go kidnap them, see wahala na, person get money, but e no fit spend am because e they fear, e no make sense na.

Having said that, of course as matter they like this, na normal thing say we go blame our government and security agencies because na them they in charge of protecting lives and properties in Nigeria. The thing be say Naija government no they prioritise the life and wellbeing of their citizens, those at the top they chop money wey them suppose use improve the security system, whilst the security officers they look for their own pocket through bribes or chasing after irrelevancies. In one word: corruption is the root cause of all our problems.
2138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 30, 2022, 09:31:05 AM
I think Real Madrid might be the best option for Jude Bellingham. Although bigger teams like Manchester City and Liverpool are also interested in him but I think Real Madrid would be the best fit for him as they will enable him to grow more as a player. Another thing is that most players always dream to play for a team like Real Madrid which is not only a  football club but also a big brand and he will get a big chance to develop his skills over there.
You are absolutely correct that most footballers dream is to play for Real Madrid, to don Madrid's white jersey is more like a dream come true for many players; Jude Bellingham is one of the most highly sought after players in Europe right now and he certainly is going to leave Dortmund in the summer, but there are quite a lot of suitors and we can't predict who he will choose.

Having said that, Liverpool and Real Madrid seem to be the most serious of the clubs that want to sign Jude, City are just closely monitoring how things develop. Liverpool really need a player like Jude, they have problems in midfield and he would solve them for the club from the red half of Merseyside, Real Madrid on the other hand look somewhat complete in midfield with two very young midfielders in Camavinga and Tchouameni, both players look like they are the replacements for Kroos and Modric, even though the two of them are still performing at the top level, but as is typical of Madrid, they want to sign all the best players possible. Jude has a tough decision to make, but one he has to make nonetheless.
2139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 29, 2022, 05:25:32 PM
I don't see any disruption to Manchester City's performance. Rather, I see a lot of improvement in their performance now than before in the World Cup. Halland is performing as before, he managed to score two goals in today's match. Manchester City's XI is really strong.
Manchester City were not as sharp as usual yesterday, likewise Erling Haaland, even despite the fact that the team managed to score three goals, whilst the Norwegian got two for himself. Erling missed quite a lot of chances yesterday and he didn't look his usual self, even with his ball control and first touches, they weren't clicking, he definitely wasn't at his best, if he was he could easily have scored 5/6 yesterday. His manager and even the player himself reiterated the same thing, but i guess he will get back to his normal predator style sooner rather than later.

Having said that, i have been watching City all season in the EPL, and i am not yet convinced about them, many people who don't watch their games only see the victories, but many times this season City look vulnerable, the good thing for them is they are still very close to the top of the table, and they can get into perfect gear at anytime; Arsenal indeed have a real chance to be champions, but City are serial winners and they can turn everything on its head at any moment.
2140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 29, 2022, 11:49:49 AM
They are already title contenders and don't really need to prove it anymore. The end of Jan fixtures should be challenging ones that could shape the season though. Arsenal made good signings last summer and are reaping the rewards from it.
Sometimes i really do not understand it when people still believe that Arsenal have to prove themselves to be contenders for the EPL title this season. I mean, what else do they have to prove, their performances thus far this season has been spectacular and they are on top of the league and still flying, imo they have been the best team thus far in the EPL and they are not only contenders, but title favorites.

Having said that, City have not been at their very best, though they have been winning games, but they haven't been all that exceptional, and the other big teams are not playing at their best too. Without question Arsenal have a real chance to win the League this season, and unless they capitulate, they would be EPL champions.
