First batch was March+July then there was an April+July (I think both at 15K, at least April+July)
I am not sure if there were farmer choice left when the 10% discount started if so it was only for the latest unit of the batch.

July batch has been told to be a small batch probably around 50-100 and with the info provided by SP it will ship the last week of July.
August batch should come after that problably shipping by the 2nd week of August and due to the numbers I presume that it will be continously shipping until the last week of august depending on your position on the queue (april+august, may+august, farmer's choice, singles and group buy all mixed).

1x Better Together SP10 + SP30 April + August for $13,930.00 (Free Shipping)

OR you could pick up 7-TH worth of S3's for half the price....

Or...

I'm ok with paying extra in order to avoid unnecessarily headaches. One box, 2 cables and I'm hashing in 2 minutes plus no reselling hassle. I would like to be busy planning the future, not dealing with present avoidable issues.

Plus the added power consumption. My house is filled with Jupiters and SP10s. I don't have any room available for another miner and it makes no sense to unplug some. So the only option is colocation. Good luck hosting 7TH/s worth of S3s in a datacenter Smiley
2162  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: July 08, 2014, 05:34:54 AM
Spondoolies may be the most "legit" company but they are not immune to the unpredictable variables involved in making an asic. Just like every other company they have no idea exactly how the chip will perform until they have it in hand. They also have no idea if it will work right away or take some troubleshooting. They don't even know if they will get the chips on time.

July only has about 3 weeks left and afaik they don't even have chips. They leaves basically zero time for fuckups or testing.

As for the companies there are: BFL, HF, CT, BA, KNC, bitmine, avalon, terrahash, AMT, VMC, and probably some others I've missed.

First of all the chips will arrive after 20 July so there is still time.

BFL, HF, BA and Avalon were mentioned. VMC was an obvious scam right from the start and Ken has a long history of conning people. Bitmine is doing okish. As for AMT and TerraHash they aren't chip manufacturers, they are just third party PCB assemblers so they were not worth mentioning. None of these companies were funded by any VC with direct statements for backing them up. I know that Cointerra received some kind of Angel funding, but none of them (except aerobatic) showed some kind of public support for them. Maybe because they knew that they will fail and didn't want to mud their name.

Now tell me how do these companies compare with SP-Tech regarding their background and their intentions. I don't find any similarities.

You can make the exact same purchase by buying 11 bitmain s3's. In fact you would have saved ~$1/gh.

Yes but with the difficulty derivative I find it extremely difficult to predict the next difficulty a week away. Even predicting the next difficulty ~3 days away is not easy.

You don't have to predict difficulty for the next 3 days. You need to predict difficulty for every change.

Quote
So why even attempt to predict the btc exchange rate/difficulty 5+ months away?

Because some people find it doable.

Sorry for your loss. What other miners do you own or have on pre-order?

Fortunately none other than my x1.

I couldn't even bring myself to preorder the s3 because as with every competent company, bitmain will have no problem selling from stock if their hardware is solid.

Hope any straggler MS customers opts for refund or Gift card comp.  Minersource is the only decent thing to come out of this Black Arrow debacle.  They've treated me well and been very responsive.  Total opposite from those BA ass rapists...

The thing is I really doubt minersource has enough funds to refund everyone. I'm a fan of MS as well which is partially why I held off on requesting a refund for so long.

The other reason was because I thought BA would give us reasonable compensation like tripling each order or exchange miners for 10 x amount of chips.

I must admit that you make weird choices. You choose to do a full pre-order with BA, but you didn't pre-order from bitmain who has much better reputation than BA who is stalling since February.
2165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 07, 2014, 07:42:54 PM
I'm in the same boat. Finally requested my refund from MS.

I was very optimistic (naive?) about BA until recently.

It appears BA wants to get sued in to bankruptcy like hashfast.

Like hashfast, blackarrow has a very capable chip which can easily ROI at the right price. I just don't understand why they would rather force us to refund instead of offering fair compensation.

6 chips per x1 and 100 per x3 is just sad. We all know that the chips cost less than $10 each to produce so why are you making us pay $60? Blackarrow is the only company currently attempting to sell chips for more than $0.5/gh. Are you forgetting that preorders funded this project?

BA has the ability to make all their customers ROI but they chose to bullshit and give us the bare minimum.

The excuse for why they couldn't price match is also hilarious.

Sorry for your loss. What other miners do you own or have on pre-order?

As for the shipping dates I'm not making any speculation now.

You seem to have a pretty good idea of when they'll have chips in hand.
Backing off on ship dates so close to chips in hand ?
Sure, I will have a first day sp30. (as i also had a first day sp10)
As for shipping dates, I estimate July batch at the end of July, and August presumably early/mid August and late August.

@s1gs3gv I'm not backing up. What Collider said!

AFAIK it was not offered on the very first days of the very first bundle (March / July), which was ~$15K.

Sounds like you are in line for one of the very first SP30 machines Collider.

Same as me!

As for the shipping dates I'm not making any speculation now.

I love a good scrap. When do the first SP30s ship ?

End of July, but you would have to give me $10K for that one :p

Careful for that amount he might want to barter his Neptune  Lips sealed
2171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 07, 2014, 11:59:13 AM
you have paid for preorder
you are not hashing
you have frozen your money
you will not mine back your btc
you are hoping that miner will be on time (95% preorders are not)
you are hoping that miner will have advertised specs (most preorders have not)
you are hoping that miner/chips will not be held by customs (avalon case)
you are hoping that difilcuty in september will be low (it wont be)

better go play just-dice...
or buy hardware in stock

Feel free to buy the available in stock miners while we do pre-orders with Spondoolies  Cool
2172  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 07, 2014, 10:11:45 AM
Are you forgetting that alliedcontrol tested AM boards at 0.6w/gh at the wall?

BS

Are you saying allied control is lying?

Let's see a live proof first then I will believe it. You are arguing about SP30 performance while not being launched, but you don't argue one single statement about this performance knowing that it takes less than 5 minutes to get a proof.

We all know that AM and AlliedControl are close friends so obvious reasons are obvious.
2173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 07, 2014, 08:40:39 AM
Are you forgetting about bitmain, innosilicon, 21e6, asicminer, knc, or blackarrow?

Quoted for future laughs.

Quote
Bitfury gen1 chips are capable of more than 0.5w/gh at the wall and blackarrows minion can do it as well.

At this moment there isn't a valid proof of BA doing 0.5W/Gh.

Quote
Is there actually any point in time where spondoolies had the best $/gh or w/gh ratio?

How is 0.69$/GH offered in April? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=575499.0 I would say that my GB offered the best $/gh and the best w/gh ratio.
2174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 07, 2014, 06:05:15 AM
Not sure what you mean... I received both CAbatch neppie orders over a week ago, and some people in Batch one even got Neptunes, when there was supposed to be a 2 week break between the CA and batch one.
Compensation for late time-frames has been announced as a second Neptune at the end of batch 3 unless you "took the shaft" on the cloud hosting deal, or got an early "FrankenJupiter"; so they actually have another week before they were supposed to start shipping batch one customers if you account for the promised two week delay between batches.

This is one more reason to feel good about my refund. I thought CA batch paid 3k$ more for having 2-4 weeks head start which allowed them to mine a bit more than the others. More FU in the face for its loyal customers from KnC.

CA batch customers paid $3k less than batch 1.

CA batch is referred to as "batch #1" in the quote below (Tigggger invented his own numbering for the batches):
KNC are referring to the current batch as batch #2, but that's very confusing as there have been 3 so I am using the following
Batch #1 = 1,200 units available to previous customers @ $10,000
Batch #2 = 1,200 units available for anyone @ $13,000
Batch #3 = 1,200 units available for anyone @ $10,000

That's correct. I messed up the batches.
2175  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: July 07, 2014, 06:04:11 AM
You didn't order from them, hence you can't quote an order number.

Isn't this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294197.msg7703787#msg7703787 enough to downgrade them? Why do you need an order number for reviewing them?
2176  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: July 07, 2014, 05:19:29 AM
So the first 10 companies to go with preorders showed the community exactly how preorders fuck over everyone involved but with spongebobtech its totally different right?

I wasn't aware that there were 10 companies that produced chips which failed. I wouldn't count 3rd party PCB developers on this because SP-Tech is directly producing the chips so they have their whole process in hand.

Second you need to look at who ran the companies that failed. BFL is run by a convicted felon, HashFail's CEO was a shady guy, BA team is unknown, Avalon is a student who got rich overnight and got blinded by his greed and Cointerra just used the US legal system to screw their customers. Have I missed any company? None of these companies are backed by 2 large VC companies who had many other successful projects so you are again comparing apples with oranges. All of the failed companies had their fail on their agenda from the start.

ANY S1 ordered before MAY with reasonable electricity costs (~0.15/kwh) has reached a positive ROI by today.

0.25 btc per S1 is still $150 or ~$50 less than it was sold for new in april.

How many sp10 bought in april have made a positive ROI in btc?

So right now an S1 is making ~60-70$/month (and shrinking) after ROI. Great investment! The SP10s may not have reached ROI, but they will sure make more than 60$ per month after they do it which means a higher profit overall versus the S1.

Quote
Yes the derivative is more of a game/gambling but I encourage everyone with an accurate magic crystal ball to give it a shot.

I've never invested in anything other than AM as it's the only semi-legit offering IMO (could be better of course). I did throw away some change (~0.01btc) due to the neobee failure but I didn't really think/care about that.

So your success in the derivative area isn't because you picked a good company, it's more of a gambling. You only picked 1 successful venture until now by picking AM shares. So you only risked once for the long term. I'm on my third successful pick with the SP10.

Quote
No you paid ~$2/gh for your march order because btc was around $630 then. If next month btc is at $1000 then yes, you will have massively overpaid.
BTW about AM, the company has already ROI'd in only a month so I would say they are doing quite well.

The argument isn't valid because right now I can't repeat the same purchase that I made back in March because of the non-availability. I made the purchase then in order to get a better shipping date. I won't be able to order an SP30 next month with August delivery.

As for AM it's the same S1 situation again. You are happy with a short ROI, but right now you aren't getting anything and the bitcoin train is on fast forward. It won't take long until you will AM will be left behind.

Quote
I'm glad you admit that looking in to the future is hard, so how can you possibly justify gambling on preorders?

The same way you justify your derivative.

This is great news.  Another confirmed company that has purchased BE200 chips.

So chips are being sold, but the dividends are still missing.
2178  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 07, 2014, 04:37:13 AM
They did offer 4Th/s in straight hash boards or 70 ASICs back in May. Both options were throwing good money and time after bad so-to-speak. It also included possibly critical technical information being withheld.

The good news I see here is that the wofully inadequate 50% compensation says they may actually intend to deliver something and not just straight up take the money.

Hash boards without a backplane?
2179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 07, 2014, 04:33:18 AM
Given the current trend in difficulty, it would be really cool if they shipped a 3rd neppy to ensure ROI, or at least a cube to add to the 6th port of every neppy shipped, including the "Extra" one.

Knowing that they are cheap bastards I doubt that they will at another cube to the 6th port. I wonder if the free Neptunes will be pre-mined or not. Time will tell.
