I might recommend linking Josh Zerlan's "Inaba" account as well, which is practically Butterfly Labs' official mouthpiece on these forums.

My expected time to share is 15.4 hours but it's been days since I got one.
Good Lord Man ! Are you manually mining with an abacus ?!

What would you recommend?
IMO, you really can't go wrong with BTCGuild. I've been pondering heading back there myself after all this ghash.io speculation. Doesn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling. To their credit though, their support is very good, pool is solid, but my spider sense is tingling while mining at that pool That, and my gut is telling me the cex.io GHs pricing is being manipulated by staff with "fake" orders. </subjective-commentary>

Still no picture of 500GH/s speed?
It's all over the internet. Don't you read Coindesk? TIL I learned Coindesk is a reputable source for ASIC hardware news.

You're really going to continue allowing Butterfly Labs to advertise here ? You're really going to continue allowing Cex.io to advertise here ? *Mumbles something about Luke-Jr abusing his pool to destroy altcoins* Speaking of fail, on ghash.io right now;

Bullshit. Post your references that makes you believe it is 4 weeks, otherwise I call Bullshit/False hope. There isn't a single manufacturer out there who can have their chips pop out of the factory in 4 weeks. Especially at 28nm.
Right there in the monarch information thread: https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/4414-monarch-information.htmlIf they haven't taped out then I would certainly agree with you. But I'm not sure why you would assume this hasn't happened. Not sure if trolling or drank the Kool-Aid... *mumbles something about history lessons*

KnC shipped hardware, and we have benefited by learning from their mistakes.
If you benefited by learning from their mistakes, why have you failed to ship your first offering when they are presently working on their second ? I do need to concur with others in this thread; Your hubris and attitude is beginning to mimic a certain COO we regard poorly.

Wow,Avalon Gen2,really Your a little late, like Bitmain with 180GH for over $4000. Can't find any reason to purchase these over another two Antminer units that are available in short order.

I see that you're still a tampon

Here is a closeup look at my card a v2.2 version H-card. I don't see anything in that spot other than the trimpot. Is it the trimpot, itself that needs the heatsink? Or that tiny thing labeled R01F?
The voltage regulator that needs to be heatsinked? It's the dark gray integrated circuit in between C01R and the Pulse inductor. I attached mine to the back rather than the front, though. It is tricky either way because you do not want to accidentally short the other components. On the front, the thermal conductivity is not as good. On the back, the heat sink barely contacts the area where the regulator is attached due to live traces and components. So is it indeed the chip located above C01R that needs to stay cool ? For some-odd reason I thought it was C06 (SH 100 16V) that needed to stay cool. I guess it doesn't really matter as I have a hurricane blowing on those spots either way, but would be good to know... Thanks for the insight ! Guess it's off to EBay with me to buy a bag-o-heatsinks.

whats the problem using his name here ? i dont get it. he is running a "legal" / " legit" business ... i dont see the problem
AFAIK, Steamboat never divulged that information here on the forums. I could very well be mistaken. Apologies if so.

The biggest problems are Cooling and the Wobble caused by the cooling. You also really need the Heatsinks on the regulators. Spotswood's Case Really Helps, stabalizes the Cards as well as allows you to get the fans right on the cards. Make sure to get high CFM fans as well.
Thank you for your anecdote. I thought I was going crazy there myself for a while, discovering this same behavior.

Is (dudes real name) steamboat ? i received an email from USPS today with a tracking number from <snip> You could have answered your own question by entering that query into Google rather than using his real name here.

I'll have more anecdotes once I get the second rig cased over the weekend.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, I'll be interested to hear your findings. Further observations over the last 12 hours or so lead me to suspect it's a combination of increased structural stability minimizing card-wobble, and lower ambient temperature that is allowing the gains. Was fairly solid overnight near 570GHs in cooler temperatures, and down to ~562-565GHs during the day now with ambient a few degrees warmer. I'd love to write it off as a placebo-effect, but I've tripped an OCD trigger, and it's game on now trying to unravel this performance curiosity. More tinkering over the weekend...

Well poop. Have an order that is presently in limbo, and would like to know if I made the batch 1 cutoff myself.
Have been waiting for a response from sales about submitting a payment :| Order #229x

The structural stability of the case provides a ~5-10GHs increase in hash-rate vs not having the rig cased.
How does that work? Placebo effect. Possibly ? *shrugs* All I know is, it appears I've gone from an average of 560GHs to 569GHs on that one particular rig since casing it properly. Before that, I had it laying on it's side with fans sitting directly on the cards blowing air down on them. It's all very mysterious and sounds suspicious to be sure. I'll have more anecdotes once I get the second rig cased over the weekend.

sorry i havent really looked at a power supply connectors for a while, does that mean any standard power supply will have the right wire i can just plug directly into the antminer? thanks
Yes. These plugs mean they easily connect to any modern PSU. The first few batches of Antminers required us to roll-our-own power connections. Dogie has a great thread on setting up Antminers here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355387.0

How does that work? The Bitfury rigs can be delicate to say the least. Very sensitive to card-wobble.

Yay ! The latest batch of Antminers come with 6 Pin PCIE female slots provided and wired up !!!

I just got in another two Antminer units that get me ~380GH/s, at ~two-thirds the price, and a little over half the power consumption vs this offering.
Yay competition !
