2181  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WHAT! :( Butterfly Lads won't deliver the Monarch Till March or April:( on: December 15, 2013, 09:12:24 PM
Heres BFL_Josh trusted feedback link. Please give him a Trusted feedback Smiley Wink
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=63314

I might recommend linking Josh Zerlan's "Inaba" account as well, which is practically Butterfly Labs' official mouthpiece on these forums.
2182  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [117 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: December 15, 2013, 09:07:06 PM
My expected time to share is 15.4 hours but it's been days since I got one.

Good Lord Man ! Are you manually mining with an abacus ?!
2183  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Ghash.io fail? on: December 15, 2013, 05:36:40 AM
What would you recommend?

IMO, you really can't go wrong with BTCGuild. I've been pondering heading back there myself after all this ghash.io speculation. Doesn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling.

To their credit though, their support is very good, pool is solid, but my spider sense is tingling while mining at that pool Sad

That, and my gut is telling me the cex.io GHs pricing is being manipulated by staff with "fake" orders.

2184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 15, 2013, 05:23:43 AM
Still no picture of 500GH/s speed?
It's all over the internet.  Don't you read Coindesk?

TIL I learned Coindesk is a reputable source for ASIC hardware news.
2185  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Ghash.io fail? on: December 14, 2013, 06:55:25 PM
You're really going to mine at ghash.io? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327767.0

You're really going to continue allowing Butterfly Labs to advertise here ?

You're really going to continue allowing Cex.io to advertise here ?

*Mumbles something about Luke-Jr abusing his pool to destroy altcoins*

Speaking of fail, on ghash.io right now;

2186  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Monarch on: December 14, 2013, 06:35:22 PM
Bullshit.
Post your references that makes you believe it is 4 weeks, otherwise I call Bullshit/False hope.
There isn't a single manufacturer out there who can have their chips pop out of the factory in 4 weeks. Especially at 28nm.
Right there in the monarch information thread:  https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/4414-monarch-information.html
If they haven't taped out then I would certainly agree with you.  But I'm not sure why you would assume this hasn't happened.

Not sure if trolling or drank the Kool-Aid...

 *mumbles something about history lessons*
2187  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 14, 2013, 07:55:57 AM
KnC shipped hardware, and we have benefited by learning from their mistakes.

If you benefited by learning from their mistakes, why have you failed to ship your first offering when they are presently working on their second ?

I do need to concur with others in this thread; Your hubris and attitude is beginning to mimic a certain COO we regard poorly.
2188  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2013-12-12 BLACKMINER RELEASES HIS BITCOIN MINING FAMILY on: December 14, 2013, 07:39:14 AM
Wow,Avalon Gen2,really Huh  Your a little late,like Bitmain with 180GH for over $4000.

Can't find any reason to purchase these over another two Antminer units that are available in short order.
2189  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL warranty transfer on: December 14, 2013, 04:07:23 AM
I see that you're still a tampon

2190  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: December 14, 2013, 02:37:22 AM
Here is a closeup look at my card a v2.2 version H-card.  I don't see anything in that spot other than the trimpot.  Is it the trimpot, itself that needs the heatsink? Or that tiny thing labeled R01F?
The voltage regulator that needs to be heatsinked?  It's the dark gray integrated circuit in between C01R and the Pulse inductor.  I attached mine to the back rather than the front, though.  It is tricky either way because you do not want to accidentally short the other components.  On the front, the thermal conductivity is not as good.  On the back, the heat sink barely contacts the area where the regulator is attached due to live traces and components.

So is it indeed the chip located above C01R that needs to stay cool ? For some-odd reason I thought it was C06 (SH 100 16V) that needed to stay cool. I guess it doesn't really matter as I have a hurricane blowing on those spots either way, but would be good to know...

Thanks for the insight ! Guess it's off to EBay with me to buy a bag-o-heatsinks.
2191  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: December 13, 2013, 09:29:17 PM
whats the problem using his name here ? i dont get it.
he is running a "legal" / " legit" business ... i dont see the problem

AFAIK, Steamboat never divulged that information here on the forums.

I could very well be mistaken. Apologies if so.
2192  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: December 13, 2013, 09:01:45 PM
The biggest problems are Cooling and the Wobble caused by the cooling. You also really need the Heatsinks on the regulators.
Spotswood's Case Really Helps, stabalizes the Cards as well as allows you to get the fans right on the cards. Make sure to get high CFM fans as well.

Thank you for your anecdote. I thought I was going crazy there myself for a while, discovering this same behavior.
2193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: December 13, 2013, 08:47:10 PM
Is (dudes real name) steamboat ? i received an email from USPS today with a tracking number from <snip>  Huh

You could have answered your own question by entering that query into Google rather than using his real name here.
2194  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 13, 2013, 07:08:48 PM
I'll have more anecdotes once I get the second rig cased over the weekend.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, I'll be interested to hear your findings. Smiley

Further observations over the last 12 hours or so lead me to suspect it's a combination of increased structural stability minimizing card-wobble, and lower ambient temperature that is allowing the gains. Was fairly solid overnight near 570GHs in cooler temperatures, and down to ~562-565GHs during the day now with ambient a few degrees warmer. I'd love to write it off as a placebo-effect, but I've tripped an OCD trigger, and it's game on now trying to unravel this performance curiosity. More tinkering over the weekend...
2195  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: December 13, 2013, 11:46:25 AM
Well poop. Have an order that is presently in limbo, and would like to know if I made the batch 1 cutoff myself.

Have been waiting for a response from sales about submitting a payment :| Order #229x
2196  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 13, 2013, 11:33:22 AM
The structural stability of the case provides a ~5-10GHs increase in hash-rate vs not having the rig cased.
How does that work?
Placebo effect.  Roll Eyes

 Possibly ? *shrugs*

All I know is, it appears I've gone from an average of 560GHs to 569GHs on that one particular rig since casing it properly. Before that, I had it laying on it's side with fans sitting directly on the cards blowing air down on them.

It's all very mysterious and sounds suspicious to be sure. I'll have more anecdotes once I get the second rig cased over the weekend.

2197  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY OPEN & Shipping] - ** GIVEAWA ** BITMAIN AntMiner 180 GH/S 300 Units on: December 13, 2013, 03:10:56 AM
sorry i havent really looked at a power supply connectors for a while, does that mean any standard power supply will have the right wire i can just plug directly into the antminer?  thanks

Yes. These plugs mean they easily connect to any modern PSU. The first few batches of Antminers required us to roll-our-own power connections.

Dogie has a great thread on setting up Antminers here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355387.0

The Bitfury rigs can be delicate to say the least. Very sensitive to card-wobble.

Yay ! The latest batch of Antminers come with 6 Pin PCIE female slots provided and wired up !!!

2200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Announces More Vapor Ware! on: December 12, 2013, 08:39:15 PM
I just got in another two Antminer units that get me ~380GH/s, at ~two-thirds the price, and a little over half the power consumption vs this offering.

Yay competition !
