Seems we are all in the same boat. But I agree to vote with your money... if I don't buy another its not the end of the world for me.

BTC price heading into better territories. Anyone want to make any bets Bitmain raises the USD price on the S5's again in the next 48 hours ?  Undecided

Ok, this thread has officially become more popcorn-worthy than the BFL Hardware thread.

Absolutely incredible to follow this drama.

Reporting in with an odd problem.
One of my S5's went to hashing at half it's capable rate, despite all rows showing o's. A reboot resolved the issue.
Running stock firmware from B1.
People have reported that the newer firmware solves that issue.
I'm scared of upgrading Sad Guess I'll take the plunge. Thanks !

Edit: Updated CGMiner in latest firmware. Cool ! So far so good.
Edit2: Meant CGMiner was updated to 4.8.0 in the latest firmware vs 4.7.0 in the original firmware.
Edit3: Updated both my S5's. Latest firmware is solid Smiley

Okay. PM me on Tuesday/Wednesday with order details if you've still not heard anything.
This is exactly the problem. I'm waiting for Paypal order details... For almost a couple weeks now.

¯\(°_o)/¯

*hugs Bitmain*

EDIT: Also, Yoshi is speaking in Miami, which I imagine might be understandably hampering things.
1351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain problems on: January 17, 2015, 08:52:52 PM
If we, as a consumer, have more money to spend, then we are obviously going to spend it somewhere.
Related, I've been trying to throw money at Bitmain for a Paypal purchase and have been getting the runaround for about a week  now Sad
Really don't know what's up with them lately Sad Possibly hammered with demand and other things behind the scenes ?
*shrugs*
What exactly are you trying to do, and what's going wrong? I'll sort you out.
Sent Yoshi a $30 coupon from my account to be applied towards a Paypal purchase on January 5th, have sent two follow up emails, and still waiting. Last email requesting a status update was sent January 15th with no reply so far.

Not cool. At all.

Guess I should have just purchased coins on Coinbase, and purchased that way via the official site. I would have had the miner by now... At least their website ordering system has never given me problems.

1353  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: spondoolies price drop How will bitmain respond? on: January 16, 2015, 06:54:01 AM

Good lord. $479 a unit now. I'd buy a bunch more, except they are way too loud to run inside the house Sad Sad Sad I can mod S5's to run more quietly.

I sincerely hope future "home miners" from both Bitmain and SPTech will run much quieter.
1354  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: January 15, 2015, 10:02:52 PM
Time to turn some miners back on!
In all seriousness, I finally laid my first gen BitFury rigs to rest a couple days ago. Will probably be putting up ~1.5THs of BitFury boards and controllers up for sale early next week. Still have a single S2 running that I'm looking to decommission at some point in the near future.

AWWW YEAHHH !!!!!!

1357  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: January 15, 2015, 05:13:06 PM
bitcoin mining is done for sure, with the last dump, but other type of mining are still running good or not as a bad as btc
... Meanwhile, price has gone up $20 in the last twelve hours.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1358  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), Jan 12th Shipping $0.28/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 15, 2015, 05:01:23 PM
Got my batch 4 miner yesterday and am surprised at the 0 H/W ?
Looks like an error, my unit with a week uptime also has 0. I'll report it now.
Edit: actually I'll get back to you.
mine has insanely low error rates at 362.5MHz. something like 0.0088% if the webUI is true
One of my units has been running three days now @ 375MHz with 0% errors ! Temperature seems to be key to that. Board temps are solidly below 60C, near ~56C.

EDIT: Full disclosure: Modded units with extra pull fan added, but honestly question whether or not it's making any performance difference at all as the stock fans push an amazing volume of air. Room ambient temp is ~25C.
1359  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain is one fucked up company! on: January 15, 2015, 04:52:14 PM
... no more Bitmaintech and hellohoo Spondooliestech for a next purchase... Pay a bit more, but get premium service in return (as far as discussed in these here fora).
The biggest problems I have with the SPTech products is they are so freaking loud Sad At least with the S5's, you have options to make them run more quietly, but the SPTech stuff is too loud for "home mining" even at their quietest settings Sad

Don't get me wrong, Bitmain is nowhere near close to walking on water, and I agree with you that SPTech offers some killer products. Both companies are the only two I would deal with at this point in time, but both also have their pro's and con's.

Very frustrating.

At the risk of sounding like I'm making excuses, I'd like to think Bitmain is just "that busy", but I can verify your sentiment with the S3's. The S3 launch ruined the "honeymoon" period I was having with Bitmain. Thankfully, my two direct-purchased S5's have been performing very well (if not louder than I would like), so I can't anecdotally say anything bad about the S5's despite the unfortunate reports I've been reading.

Could be worse. You could be running Butterfly Labs gear ! Oh wait...
1360  Other / Meta / Re: I think trust system default should be set at 3 on: January 15, 2015, 02:37:56 AM
I think DefaultTrust should be something users need to opt-in to, with a depth of 1.

New users should have a blank default trust list as a basic tenet to never inherently trust anyone on Bitcointalk.
