Against my better judgement, I pulled the trigger on two B1 S5's and have received shipping confirmation.

Here's genuinely hoping this launch is smoother than the S3 launch.

Cheers, Bitmain.

I hope you can appreciate pre-orders are frowned upon by this community, and you are going to come under intense scrutiny without providing proof of product existence and performance.
Yes. I understand and appreciate this. It's actually giving me personally even more energy to complete project in given deadline and within all specs.
At the same time, however, do not agree on the language and the way some of comments.

Ia I said before we are working on this project for almost 6 moths. This is DESIGN. I dont know will you understand this, but designer need to put some data while designing. SOME EXAMPLE DATA. Are you really so stupid?

Graphical explanation for all malcontents.

Forgive me for being so forward, but given that I have already explained you are likely to come under intense scrutiny for a pre-order scheme in today's marketplace, and your acerbic replies to pointed queries (... that type of abrasive attitude with potential customers generally does not lead to profitable ventures launched from these forums ...) I would suggest you go radio silent and not make any further posts until you have a working product and something that trusted members of these forums can verify.

I would look to Spondoolies or Bitmain as setting the standard for launching new products on these forums.

Anything else is folly in todays marketplace.

I'd still like to use some of my S3, S4, and C1 coupons for some S5's.
I was thinking the same thing. I have a load of S3, S4 and C1 coupons I'm never going to use. Would be nice to have the option of applying/converting them towards S5's (and S6's) in the future.
1424  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 17 BFL monarch cards IN HAND - Up for sale. on: December 26, 2014, 06:30:27 AM
Requested price = $2,500/card, negotiable for substantially big quantities. PM me for negotiations.
Who in their right mind do you expect to purchase these units, considering $2,500 buys you ~5THs nowadays either through Bitmain or SPTech ?

Got my shipping notification and submitted the DHL customs forms. Will be replacing a couple A1 rigs Smiley Whee !
Damn! is that in the email?
Perhaps only for the DHL shipping option - It's what I chose as I've found it's the timeliest solution for delivery to the USA.

Having said that, I've never had to fill out one of these forms before when receiving via DHL.

Yay ! Ordered and paid for. Thanks Roadstress for organizing this.
1428  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: www.lketc.com 1TH Dragon miner direct order. 3000$ on: December 24, 2014, 06:22:01 PM
How can I adjust the frequency?

In /var/www/run.sh, you'll see command line parameters like "--A1Pll1 900 --A1Pll2 900 --A1Pll3 900 --A1Pll4 900 --A1Pll5 900"

Try lowering the 900's to something like 800 and see if that doesn't get lower power draw for you.

chmod 555 run.sh as root to prevent the webgui from overwriting run.sh.

The cgminer implementation in the A1's is an atrocity - they pretty much pooped all over Con and Kano's hard work.

really wasn't a 'debacle' .. it's just that most people didn't know what to do to prep hardware to get a good over-clock. my original s3 units are still hashing over 500g/hs. i never had the alarm issue because i placed a piece of electrical tape over the speakers.

To elaborate, after re-pasting and extensive tweaking of my twelve B1 through B3's, I have not ever been able to get ANY of them hashing stably above 460GH/s without X's showing up.

I'm glad you're stable at 500GHs. That's pretty incredible considering the experience I've had.

... and I think you will agree with me that the need to place tape over a speaker to mitigate a software issue is unacceptable, all things considered.

Finally, debacle is probably too overdramatic, I admit. "Disappointment" would be more apropos.

If a 10' pole is not long enough, we may have a 20' pole to share
Point being, here's hoping your S5 product launch goes better than your S3 product launch.

Don't get me wrong, I look to acquire a few S5's in time, but the S3 experience - as a B1 through B3 buyer - left a really bad taste in my mouth after being quite happy with my prior S1 and S2 purchases.
1433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on December 27th on: December 22, 2014, 04:30:21 PM
Meh.

I'm still irritated with the S3 -> S3+ debacle, and the S3 firmware still being broken such that the #$*@#!nG alarm still goes off when the pool goes dead - ignoring the checkbox setting in the webGUI to disable the alarm. Woke me up at 3am in the morning last night.

Thanks Bitmain.

The S3 launch was a tremendous disappointment and, IMO, burned a lot of goodwill with this community.

Experience is telling me not to touch the S5 with a 10-foot pole. Not batch 1's anyway.

1434  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 12k, Should I start mining? on: December 20, 2014, 08:58:11 PM
If I were you, I'd consider buying $6k USD of BTC on Coinbase, then purchasing $6k worth of SP20's and requisite power supplies and infrastructure to run them for a year.
1435  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin is collapsing! Sell your ASICs NOW while you still can! on: December 20, 2014, 08:46:24 PM
Bitcoin is collapsing, difficulty is dropping off due to people getting out while BTC still has some value, and within the next month, you will wish you had never bought an ASIC!

Cool story, bro.
1436  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Building a 900,000 GH/S Farm on: December 20, 2014, 08:41:09 PM
Why would you buy S4 when it costs more and uses more W/GH when you could buy some SP-Tech gear which is cheaper and uses less W/GH?
Says the person with the affiliate link.
Does not change the fact of the matter that Bitmain is no longer aggressively competing on cost for the home mining market.

Yes, SPTech sent me an SP20 for free, and that turned me on to the reality that theirs is a more reasonable product to buy than Bitmain's. Affiliate link or not does not change reality.

Having said that, given my current infrastructure being maxed out, I'm waiting for Q1 2015 before considering further upgrades to my farm. If I had money burning a hole in my pocket, I'd pick up 5 SP20's right now to replace older gear I still have running, but can't rationalize it ATM.

Buying the first few round of Bitmain S3's left a really bad taste in my mouth, considering they lied to me via email about the whole S3+ debacle (claimed they would not be revving the S3 line when I was buying batches 1 through 3, to address their performance problems)
1437  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: December 20, 2014, 07:55:22 PM
Do you have dbA measurements for fans at 15% ? Thinking of ordering another SP20 to run way downclocked.

Day 2, and she's solid and stable running at ~750W Smiley

1439  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] A Spondoolies-Tech SP20 in Dallas, TX on: December 16, 2014, 06:46:07 PM
You're too close with the decibel meter, and you're in the wind stream. Move a metre back for a more reliable reading.
Point is, it's loud. Moving the SPL meter further away will still register as "too loud to be in a bedroom"
