Quote
Fearing the worst, one user went back and read the brand new, edited terms of Service GAW set up for it's Paycoin and Paybase products.

4.3 Risk that Paycoin May Never be Completed or Released. Purchaser understands that, while the Company will make reasonable efforts to complete the Paycoin software, it is possible that an official completed version of Paycoin may not be released and there may never be an operational Paycoin, Prime Controller, or HashStaker.

4.4 Paycoins May Have No Value. Paycoin is a new cryptocurrency and its value is determined by supply and demand. At any point after its release, it is possible that the market price of a Paycoin may be zero. Because the value of Paycoin may be zero, the value of a stake, in Paycoins, from a HashStaker may also be zero.

In regular people speak: trust josh or get out of Paycoin while you still can.

Wow.

There have been reports of a massive bot registrations recently.
This could be related to a possible forums DDoS attack vector they have been attempting to exploit.

Just curious as to how would that be related to the search feature on the forum ?
A bunch of bots searching the forums at once would bring it to it's knees.

1324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: January 30, 2015, 05:19:56 PM
Just got an SP20 in from EBay, and looking forward to tinkering with this one, running it "open air", without the stock fan, and a bunch of quieter fans pointing at it.

Fun weekend project ! *crosses fingers*

Any plans to release a smaller 4 board version ?
Are you interested in modify kits?If yes,we could custom-made it for you.
The 4 board versions would run well on North American 120V circuits, and thought it would be an absolutely perfect solution for quiet home mining.

A custom built 4 board chassis would be interesting to have made, and it's a pity that Bitmain won't be able to make this deal work out Sad

Perhaps they are working on a solution of their own ?

Sell momentum gaining at $220. Headed downwards, currently at $241.

Will Bitmain adjust pricing of the S5 within 48 hours to correct ?

Stay tuned, true miners !

The thread was deleted because it was spam, normally the procedure of dealing with spam is deleting it, not moving it.

Anybody here off hand know the address of bitmain Tech in china? Trying to get a FCC form filled out for Fedx delivery.
Never Mind, found it where they were advertising for a Embedded Software Engineer

FYI - Federal Express Shipping Option

I order a S5 back on the 25th and chose FedX for the shipper to the US. It has been tied up twice in customs, once in china which a phone call took care of and once here which required a FCC form to be filled out. They knew it was a BTC miner and were insistent that this had to be completed for release. Luckily I had a helpful agent that assisted me in filling out the form which should have been completed by Bitmain according to Fedx. Be careful in choosing them for a shipping option to the US it isn't worth the 10 dollars or so you will save.

In my experience, DHL is the most reliable method of getting items from China to the USA.
1329  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic for home mining. on: January 28, 2015, 12:34:48 PM
Dogie admitted he reported the poll questions to the moderators.
Well, that's just ultimately cowardly and transparent of Dogie, considering he's employed by Bitmain.

I removed him from my trust list a while ago, and if I wasn't disillusioned with Bitmain before, I'm downright pissed off now that Dogie is running around off his leash and whimpering to the mods.

I get the feeling Bitmain is headed down the path of greed, trail-blazed by the likes of Butterfly Labs and KNC Sad

Very frustrating - Having a desire to buy more S5's, but not being able to will myself, due to recent shenanigans.

Instead, "rage-purchased" an SP20 at a significantly reduced price off Ebay from a farm being decommissioned, and, horror-of-horrors, I'M GOING TO BE RUNNING IT INSIDE MY HOUSE !

AT FULL SPEED !!!
1330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 28, 2015, 02:01:27 AM
Spondoolies-Tech any chance of a water cooled miner in the future?
I really don't want to buy an s5 to upgrade it with watercooling!
+1 !!! The more silent the better for me !

A watercooled SP20 would be awesome !
1331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [17th Dec] on: January 28, 2015, 12:43:32 AM
1) The SP10, SP30, SP31, SP35 aare all indstrial non consumer miners, so I'm not sure how you can say that. Even the SP20 is barely considerable as a consumer unit as it has to be underclocked to 60-75% to be usable in the home.
Pardon ? I have three SP20's running in my home at full speed. In North America on 120V residential circuits. Many others do as well.

Dude, what's wrong with you ? You know better than this.

The fact that Bitfury is number 1 as they no longer sell to customers the average forum-reader, and Avalon is number 2 considering their history, I'm calling shenanigans on your entire asinine list.

It should be Spondoolies #1, Bitmain #2, and whatever way you want to rate the others that follow.

sure, they're used, but......
they work I purchased 1 piece of it.  my offer was 409 he took it. I got 4% ebay discount net was 393
Ditto. Just picked one up for delivery ~Feb 3rd.
1334  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 26, 2015, 07:25:37 PM
Guy, if you can launch the next gen ASIC b4 all the Chinese, you will nail their coffins. We will bury them for you.
I'm ready to throw money at the quietest and fastest option available @ ~55-60dBA... Lower than that would be superb.
1335  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Water-cooled S5 Group-buying Thread on: January 26, 2015, 07:21:47 PM
     Also,we provide water-cooled S5 sale.Each water-cooled S5 have 4 waterblocks,8 hash boards,it is equivalent to 4 air-cooled S5's.The price of each water-cooled S5 is $1307,and if you want to purchase from us sigly,at least 3 water-cooled S5 must be contained in each order,since we purchase boards from Bitmain,buying small amounts of boards is unconvenient.order.
This is relevant to my interests.

Is it possible to run these units on North American 120V circuits ? Any technical data or photos of the full units ?

To be clear, does the $1307 price include the watercooling equipment, as well as the 4 "air cooled S5's" ?
1336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 26, 2015, 03:06:54 PM
Answer to your psycology question is simple, I wonder why you could not figure it out. (and there-in lies your answer, thing is, can you figure that out?)
Lets be clear. I'm a huge fan of Bitmain's (still don't have a t-shirt though...) and look forward to purchasing more of their products, but this price maneuvering is unpalatable.

Not trying to troll and derail the thread, but if you could kindly answer my simple query, rather than dance around the issue, I would appreciate it. Help me understand the psychology here.

"If I was hesitant purchasing something at $341, why should I be less hesitant to purchase it at $370 ? Why would I have more motivation to purchase at $370 when it was just $341 earlier ? $310 a day before that."

Furthermore, BTC appears to be trending down. How should one feel if they purchased at $370 right now, and later today, the price is reduced to $360 ?
1337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 26, 2015, 02:51:29 PM
So why mourn at bitmain? Mourn at real life ...... it's the one that distracted you from the bargain of the century .... Yeah.... no.  Undecided
Are you suggesting the competition raise the prices of their goods from $479 to $529, and we should be OK with that ?

Psychology Question for you: If I was hesitant purchasing something at $341, why should I be less hesitant to purchase it at $370 ? Why would I have more motivation to purchase at $370 when it was just $341 earlier ? $310 a day before that.
1338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 26, 2015, 02:37:18 PM
<snip>
But all we have in this thread now is mourning and whining .... guys, what do you really want? You want to see bitmain go bust?
No. I don't want to see them go bust. But I also don't want to see them raising the fiat price in step with BTC fluctuations.

Are you suggesting Spondoolies raise the prices of their SP20's from $479 to $529, and we should be OK with that ?

This is just bad business from a consumer standpoint all around. Insulting even.

I was about to purchase two at $310, communicated with Yoshi to resolve a coupon discrepancy, got distracted with real life, come back and the price was raised.

Yeah.... no.  Undecided
1339  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 26, 2015, 10:13:13 AM
Wow Sad Took less than 48 hours for them to raise their prices from $341 to $370 Sad

I hate it when my gut is right in situations like this Sad

Very disappointing to see this sort of transparently greedy behavior from Bitmain.
1340  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 26, 2015, 02:17:22 AM
Seems we are all in the same boat. But I agree to vote with your money... if I don't buy another its not the end of the world for me.
BTC price heading into better territories. Anyone want to make any bets Bitmain raises the USD price on the S5's again in the next 48 hours ?  Undecided
To be fair, they didn't raise the prices. They removed the discount, though I have to say I wish they added more discount instead of removing them.
Very fair point. However, by removing the discount, they are effectively disincentivising purchases at this time.
