2181  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: August 29, 2012, 07:45:48 AM
when there were 10,000 BTC  in the bet everyone was excited and some people even doubted Matthew has that much BTC in case of a loss

Now there are somehow around  31,500BTC in the bet

what has changed ? if it wasnt obvious before its looking pretty certain now that matthew is not alone in this belief and as crazy as it sounds someone else must
also be pumping money into this bet besides matthew

2182  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closing down on: August 29, 2012, 07:20:24 AM
so there is still a chance for us to get our money back after all?

i wonder why pirate wants to pay the subaccounts himself and not let the operators do their jobs. or maybe he just wants to win some more time?

so the FBI and IRS can charge 700 people with moneylaundering instead of just 7+ pirate  Cheesy
2183  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: August 29, 2012, 06:06:45 AM
Couple possibilities here...
1) He's truly crazy.  100% batshit insane.

2) He has insider information making it an unfair bet.

3) He is actually working WITH pirateat40; ie. Pirate withholding payment until matt can extract as many bets as possible.

4) He has no ability and/or no intention to pay if/when he loses and is willing to risk his reputation to make a point that you all have yet again gambled your BTC on craziness.

Nuances aside, I see no other reasonable explanations for still accepting bets.

Enigma

I would have voted for number 3 myself but since pirate has promised to pay interest
out to the last hour it doesnt stack up
matthew is not going to be able to collect enough in bets to win so save the BTCST  from going under .........i think

number 2 looks tempting also:

FBI land down on friday  with the IRS and arrest everyone and declaim the "money laundering ponzi whatever " to be illegal and order all coins back to their investors  immediately  or everyone goes to jail ...........

2184  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: August 29, 2012, 05:44:34 AM
I don't see how Matthew can win this.

I'm beginning to think Matthew can't pay this and knows it so why not just jack the BTC up to whatever?

the largest personal bet so far is 6000 on one of the spreadsheets
AFAIK this is the single largest best on pirate sinking ,even bigger than Vandroiys
which was pretty respectable at 5000
2185  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: August 29, 2012, 05:16:54 AM
I see the number in your google docs spreadsheet keeps going up Matthew. If you're still taking bets, I would like to increase mine to 500BTC.

Accepted.

If you're still accepting bets (which would be insane!), I'll increase mine to 238.8 BTC.

I will raise mine from 250 to 500 if they are still being taken

(matthew knows whats really going on friday  maybe ?)  Grin
2186  Economy / Economics / Re: I found pirate with his coins... on: August 28, 2012, 12:25:54 PM
He just plans to keep playing with the coins.

Besides, about MtGox... His personal information has been verified twice. If he just runs away with the money or the coins, MtGOX should be giving his information to the police or community or they will be found guilty of complice.

"verified" seems to be a pretty loose term when it comes to BTC scams

we have had at least 3 separate guys  doxxed as pirate in the last day or so

whois on half a dozen websites ,at least 5 phone numbers and a few differnt names and addresses have all been posted

the people that met him  in vegas or know him personally are not saying too much about the pictures and ID's for whatever reason  ....

what does gox even need to verify someone ? anything  could  be easily forged or photoshopped  before its faxed to them when theres several million dollars involved

2187  Economy / Economics / Re: I found pirate with his coins... on: August 28, 2012, 12:06:27 PM
I believe Pirate is just bullish about everything and is still moving around the coins to make pressure over the order books. Looks like is selling about 5k at 11.10 ; 11.20; 11.40; 11.6; 11;80 and 10k at 12, all round price numbers. I believe he is trying to move the wall down again with the BTC that he has no actual plan to return. I care a shit about his intentions, I'm only $700k short to buy him up and piss him off.  Cheesy

If he was planning to rob everyone  ,its a lot harder to move with $5.5 million than 550k btc

wouldnt make sense converting it to cash yet ,and certaintly not on mt gox

2189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Thoughts on the Pirate Business on: August 28, 2012, 10:51:42 AM
my thoughts on pirate business:

Is it just me or is there a shitload of these new people who joined like "yesterday"
being very vocal about the "stupidity of investors "  and pirate should not be publicly
identified or have his life history posted up ?

seems like  these "new people " are very opinionated about the BTCST and potential outcome  that may land on pirate ..... Wink
2190  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings & Trust - Money Returned List (One reported). on: August 28, 2012, 07:00:15 AM

Lots of discussion, fact remains, still money not returned...

Pirate needs to stop the bleed (interest) ASAP.......

a YEAR  into the scheme and hes only starting to notice that 3400% is a bit
too much "bleed" to be profitable ?

 Roll Eyes

2191  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: centralized post of pirate payouts or other related news to the closing. on: August 27, 2012, 11:30:19 AM
We will only know if someone will use violence and they get caught?
We'll know if people attempt to get the authorities involved. Either they'll succeed, and then we're not on a desert island, or they'll fail, and then we are.

What are they going to do, complain that a man took their Internet moneys? It would be regarded by the police as the equivalent of stealing someone's NX points or ISK. They'll set the matter aside and we're still screwed.

he didnt even take it ,it was voluntarily given to him
he never said it was risk free either or did he ?

it might not even be a police issue ,more like a civil matter
if you loan someone something and they dont pay back its
probably tough shit

nobody has a contract or witnesses or even a proper identity
and so far ive seen about 3  guys that people think is Pirate

pretty well executed  crime by the looks of things and will probably
get messy if pirate fcuks everyone and splits with the money

2192  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: centralized post of pirate payouts or other related news to the closing. on: August 27, 2012, 10:48:11 AM
Um no. People using violence to get their coins back from a crook is not self-defense. Their coins were gone the moment they suspended their common sense and were engulfed by their own greed. Pirate forced no one to give him their coins, and he never gave anyone anywhere near a plausible reason as to why his scheme should work as promised. Pirate didn't invent the Ponzi scheme so everyone here should have known better. It's the victims greed that committed the crime.
I disagree completely. Pirate's culpability has no effect on his victims' culpability and vice versa. Each is fully responsible for their own actions and the consequences of them.

And yes, using violence to get stolen property back from a thief is self-defense. In a civilized society, within the scope of operation of its legal and police systems, one give's up one's right to the use of self-defense in non-emergency situations. But where those systems don't apply, one still has it.

If you and I were stranded on a desert island, I would fully have the right to use force to defend my property from you, including taking it back from you if you had stolen it. Defense of one's property is self-defense.

Are we on a desert island?

Pirate probably is ...  Grin
2193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Thoughts on the Pirate Business on: August 27, 2012, 09:32:02 AM
whether you agree with it being right or wrong

stealing nearly 6 million dollars worth of assets is enough to put anyones family in danger

pirate should have thought about about the implications this would have and if he doesnt pay it back its likely his family maybe  punished on his behalf

I would have evacuated my family already if i was him and i havent even invested

people break your legs over a couple of grand ,i think he should think carefully about returning at least the principal deposits  if not the  accumulated interest

I know i would .....

2194  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pirate accomplices on: August 27, 2012, 08:27:15 AM
all these new guys  with under 10 posts defending pirate and blaming the victims of the theft look highly suspicious to me
same with people saying stuff like ,dont be posting his personal details online just because he scammed you in obvious ponzi etc like WTF ....

if he did  rob $5.5 million worth of bitcoins ,dont expect  "privacy to be respected"

also anyone buying up reduced priced accounts deserves further  scrutiny as well in the even that pirate does manage to buy his debt at about 30% of face value and then pay the remaining debtors

if he deliberately  created enough panic that he can pay back 2 mil instead of 5.5 mil i would still class that as a partial scam /default
2195  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How could Pirate fuck your brains so well that even now many believe in him? on: August 27, 2012, 05:07:31 AM
I will take dollar denominated bets in Gox USD that pirate repays within 10 days using a willing trusted and reputable escrow only (someone like Vladimir, even though he is of a different opinion).  You win if Pirate does not repay within 10 days.  PM if interested and we can set it up and determine odds.

you have 8  posts and you are so confident of pirate you are  willing to take bets  ?
2196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin -> MasterCard (or any credit card)... who cares? on: August 27, 2012, 04:53:12 AM

i agree ,safer cashing out through an exchange and transferring the funds to your regular bank and debit or credit  card than being raped by excessive fees

2197  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [POLL] How will Pirateat40's debt repayment unfold? on: August 27, 2012, 04:46:29 AM
i think he has already defaulted if the latest statement says he doesnt have the coins to return  now and doesnt know when he is likely to have them so will not be giving any further  timeframes or dates

2198  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who pirate really is, and how to find him. on: August 26, 2012, 02:45:31 PM
hm i thought pirate wanted to pay tomorrow .... lets wait till then, shall we Smiley

How would you feel if somebody accuse u of theft ..... and random persons call u at any time :/

I would delete the sensitive info if i were the OP!

if pirate told everyone he is trendon shavers and he is  not then its a clear cut case of 5 million dollar  fraud

best to contact the other guy ASAP before something bad happens if only to rule him out ..............

2199  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who here thinks I'm a douchebag? on: August 26, 2012, 07:40:24 AM
Also, this is your one chance to completely vent out your anger against me (if any) in the comments section. I will read any disrespectful remark of yours with complete acknowledgement and acceptance.

why are we only allowed one chance to vent our anger ?

can the rules be edited to allow multiple angry vents and disrespectful remarks with your  complete acknowledgement and acceptance ?
