So open the envelope carefully, take out the cash, seal it again and start the camera rolling
Make video of opening empty envelope

Claim you been scammed
Only do business with escrow, insurance or in person at a police station etc , there's too many ways to be robbed with other options
1742  Economy / Goods / Re: House for sale on: November 13, 2014, 07:42:08 AM
Hello,
The house looks really nice. Can you provide more details about it? Is it yours or you are just promoting the site?
BTW this price is a slice of the Bitcoin pizza Cheesy
After 4 years a luxury house or a slice of pizza

4 more years passes........ A slice of pizza + luxury house +Ferrari +private golf course :p

1743  Economy / Goods / Re: House for sale on: November 13, 2014, 07:37:41 AM
That guy with 156k bitcoins should definitely get this.

Which guy has that many coins?  :0
1744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any way to buy Bitcoin with cash? on: November 13, 2014, 07:30:15 AM
There are also people that do cash in the mail on Localbitcoins, but they either use escrow (which requires total trust with the person doing the escrow) or you have to send the cash first and hope they send you the bitcoins later.

This is wrong; the sellers on localbitcoins use the site escrow, so you only need to trust the exchange escrow and arbitration system.
Wrong again. If you are sending cash in the mail then you need to trust the person you are buying from as there will be very little evidence for either party to give to the LBC escrow service so they can essentially rule either way
I am sure you can find a reputable seller who can make the exchange easy on you. However, you should not send large amounts of cash through the mail...

First, you should trade sensibly by choosing reputable exchangers.

Second, if the seller lies and you protest, then basically the exchange support cannot rule against you.

Third, for cash in mail it is highly suggested that you require video evidence of the pick up of the package, opening of package, counting of the money, and validating the legitimacy of the notes. How will somebody fake the pickup of a package of cash at USPS? If you also make a coinvincing video then support cannot rule against you.

Ask any reputable cash by mail seller for more tips.

Someone could mail you an empty envelope or something
You won't know it's empty until after its delivered
The usps tracking number will show its been delivered
Very old scam was common on eBay in the early days
1745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can you do if you've been scammed out of bitcoins? ??? on: November 13, 2014, 07:15:37 AM
What can you do if you've been scammed out of bitcoins?  Huh

Just wondering if there's anything I can do? I read about double-spend but only works if you have enough bitcoins to send again and pray that the double spend reaches enough nodes and wins. In my case I sent this person all of my bitcoins in my wallet and didn't have enough. Undecided

The only thing you can probably do is cry, and maybe buy some more because it seems to be heading for another yearly rally

You think there's only 3 rich people/organisations in the world who could  take a large chunk of coins privately ?

1748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rally - this is gentleman on: November 13, 2014, 05:43:39 AM
Where did this "This is gentlemen" thing come from?  It has to be some kind of meme seeing as how it's broken English and makes no sense without the word "it" in there.

I was curious about it too... I'm not a fan of bad grammar though... I stand the cute Doge memes, because he's adorable, but this gentleman saying is a bid odd.  Undecided

It was coined in the reddit forum by someone watching btc prices while driving his car
And he mistyped it that way when he saw this spike starting and since then onwards its been cigars and bathrobes and monocles and heading for champagne  and Lamborghinis and private jets and shit Smiley
1749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 13, 2014, 05:33:32 AM
Silkroad 1 closed, bitcoin price skyrocketed and saw ATH, now Silkroad 2 close, I can't imagine Smiley

Imagine  Smiley
1750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rally - this is gentleman on: November 13, 2014, 05:24:19 AM
I would be brave enough to call this rally a rally now
Perhaps I'll get owned though but its pushing real hard.

The next big spike is  coming, and hopefully this be it
Bacardi and blowjobs on the moon baby!
This is gentlemen  Smiley

Holy sweet jesus - 450 already and rising.....
1752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 MILLION WORTH OF BITCOIN TO GO UNDER THE HAMMER | DailySatoshi.com on: November 13, 2014, 05:05:40 AM
Seems like a big auction, get ready for a price shift, hopefully up!

Well if everyone remembers that the Federal Marshall's auction coins apparently sold at premium over spot, despite FUD, then it should move up.
Why do you way the coins from the first SR auction were sold at a premium? The price was never disclosed and it can only be speculated as to what price they were sold at.

although the dynamics of such an auction would indicate that they would sell at a discount due to the limited number of potential participants and requirement to buy a large amount

An exchange or a whale like Richard Branson etc could have taken the lot in one bite to make a profit later

The winklevoss brothers could have taken a loan from their dad to buy them

A hedge fund or venture capital firm could have swallowed the lot

Too many possibilities........

Is this because of CounterParty? And because last time silkroad got busted we rallied a week later? Seems like two things going on at once.

I thought people who can't buy drugs at sr2 might exchange for cash to buy drugs locally but there's no way they could move the price this much by themselves

But then there is many other dark markets to buy drugs that people who need some will get it anyway

A lot of the rise seems to be happening on Chinese exchanges first so I doubt they were big silk-road users anyway

1754  Economy / Speculation / Re: $400 has been hit way too quick, people will get burned buying here on: November 13, 2014, 03:54:44 AM
November 2014 could go down as the last month in history that 1 BTC could be exchanged for less than $1000 usd.

FTFY
1755  Economy / Speculation / Re: $400 has been hit way too quick, people will get burned buying here on: November 13, 2014, 03:53:47 AM
i'm looking to dump my btc, just wait when the price $1000 again  Cool

How many do you want to dump?  Is it cigars and bathrobes and yachts time at 1k? Smiley

1k is not the top, 10k is probably not even the top
1756  Economy / Speculation / Re: $400 has been hit way too quick, people will get burned buying here on: November 12, 2014, 08:47:09 PM
Fewcoins is a sock puppet for falling lol
Same shit again and again.... And again Smiley
1757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rally - this is gentleman on: November 12, 2014, 08:34:47 PM
I would expect a correction soon. The jump is too big, too quick.

It isn't
If anything its too small, too slow

If the etf is coming in the next 6 weeks this might be as cheap as it ever gets to buy a coin again

After that the block Reward halves so I can only see it going high with a few slumps on the way upwards
1758  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 3̶6̶0̶$̶ 435$ on: November 12, 2014, 08:31:22 PM
I just bought a lot yo - impressive dump going on right now!
.

itcould a coordinated pump and dump. damn. but i didnt buy any. best time was to buy at $300

Kicking myself for not buying at $300.... i even knew it was a good buy but i was too scared thanks
to the gloom and doom sentiment.

Maybe $400 is the new $300?

The next decent pump will take us higher than the last one, when it breaks 1200+ in the next month to an unprecedented new ceiling people will be in shock
Including me....!
When the rising price hits the mainstream news it has a knock on effect on the public  which makes it rise even more

$1200 in the next month? Sounds way too soon

Maybe I should buy more just incase?

Depends if you are comfortable with whatever many  you have now Wink

I'm set for life so my grandkids will get whatever extra I make now  but there was a massive spike last year when there was almost nothing  and now there's a shitlot of new companies and organisations involved now so I have to assume the next spikes will be much larger and when the block Reward halves again I doubt we will ever see 4 digits again..... And maybe even faster than that

1759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: November 12, 2014, 07:54:28 PM

Yes, those ratez lookz finez to Me
(licks chops)

Exercise due caution.  Places that advertise good rates are a bit more common than places that trade them.

The last great rates were at the btcst , 1% a day I think it was lol
If you sat down and worked it out, the interest rates  would have exceeded 21 million btc in a relatively short time lol
Everyone was too greedy too see it until they lost their coins and some people lost a lot Sad

There is other  hyip scams too but usually only the owner make money from such rates as there will never be enough to repay everyone the paper profits..
