221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice to new crypto miners on: January 28, 2022, 02:16:26 AM
let's face it. The pump the youtubers have been giving to mining, the enormous amounts of videos in Youtube showing you how to do it (destroying the access skill necessary to set up a rig) and plus telling them how much money they were making for doing nothing but sitting in front of their computer watching their bank account grow bigger, HAS DESTROYED all the rest. Every single one of you is making less money every day, since we are getting less ETH everyday. There is no point in telling you my example. Everyone knows this is a fact.

Those youtubers are evil, most of them work with scammers and scalpers.

Anyway, enjoy the last bulltrap, because after that the only thing certain is hehell, misery and death for eternity concerning mining if eth goes to pos. You trolls have no idea how many gpus are in ethash right now, where that hashrate will go? nowhere, people will stop mining and sell their 6x msrp overpriced gpus they bought at huge discount of 80% or more because it will be millions of gpus to be sold and nobody to buy because there will be no profit, the 0.1% of miners that will stay/survive, will mine ravecoin and other pow coins at negative profit till next bullrun and dont expect those pow coins to be as profitable as eth next bullrun and i'm not even sure if any of them will be pumped next bullrun, scammers love pumping new coins, lots of tokens created from thin air in few months gone up to such extent that showed scammers that is the way to go, aggressive marketing to get sheeps/idiots in their project then wait bullrun end and then dump/kill that token and then next bullrun create new token, hype, market it and then scam sheeps again, rinse and repeat.

i'm preparing/already have other sources of income, since i like mining the places where is do things have always "mining" in mind so when/if the next scam POW pump happens, I'll be ready to scale up again.

this mining thing is not constant it comes in ebbs and flows. agility and flexibility is key.

there is a person whom i haven't met in years, asking how to send BTC to a scam ponzi of some type, they told me it is just a small amount of money they are willing to gamble on and lost that money..........i said to my self.. "the top is near or it already topped" LOLOL

I hope a lot of you took profit.

He doesn't post here anymore, but he does post in the Dash Discord from time to time under the moniker Anonysuom#6766.  Shocked

you know if he still have his two master nodes?. Or did he finally give up and sell in the face of falling prices?

I always thought he was a good guy who helped those who had any problem on the board. Wherever he is, I hope he does well.

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KASPA (KAS) - CPU PoW - ghostDAG on: January 09, 2022, 12:14:19 PM
Haha, Wow I'm sorry I didn't realize i was talking to a legendary piece of shit! You are a true shit poster and I bow down before your porcelain throne. Why don't you enlighten all us noob's with your turd ass and lay down some good reasons why this project's tech is terrible, was premined, and a scam? I'm sure they are there, I believe in you!!! You are more than the sum of the generic copy paste troll comments you leave.

I'll level with you, obviously I'm interested in the project as a potential investor and I'd love to hear your negative reasons for not "digging" it. If I had to assume I would say, you are either a simple troll, or apart of a competing agenda, but who knows? Maybe I'm being too pessimistic. Maybe, just maybe you really have everyones best interest at heart (which is so kind of you). SO PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU! YOU FECAL SOAKED LEGEND, PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON ME AND GIVE ME THE KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION BEFORE I MAKE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE INVESTING IN KASPA! Just do me and others the simple privilege of at least posting a complete thought or forming a complete argument when you lay down your profound blah, blah.

Check out his post history, he is "legendary" because he helps people build rigs. No reason to believe he has any more grasp of the theory of cryptocurrencies than his, erm, porcelain throne. If he weren't a coward looking to stir up shit he'd respond to my very reasonable questions instead of picking fights with bystanders.

I've been shitcoining long before i help people build rigs LOL

Tech? LOL the "tech narrative" or "in it for the tech" LOL

You folks are the one who claimed to have invested because of the tech, now tell us how are we gonna get rich from it?

Your answer: i dunno? or you don't want to say? Because... Hehe

I already know your words even before you open your mouth, your shilling techniques are low quality and won't work LOL

This is the type of shitcoin that won't make you folks any money.

Just scam artist with claims of "tech" LOL

Tech tech..premine..tech. Then Dump! LOL

As a casual observer not affiliated with the project in anyway I have to say that Kaspa is one of the most promising projects I've come across in my 5 years of exploring crypto. There is a sea of crap out there so it's refreshing to find a project that offers not only unique tech but also strives to uphold the OG philosophical roots of crypto, keeping things as decentralized as possible. I came across the work of daglabs from a coindesk article written in 2018 and was intrigued enough to follow their research and development  to the eventual launching of Kaspa. If it's a con it's a really, really, really, long con... "Kaspa is a community project, completely open source, no central governance, no biz model. The mainnet was openly launched without premining or any other preallocation of coins." There was no premine if you did even a little research you would find that the devs try to keep everything as transparent as possible with the community. Will it make folks money? No one can know that for sure but so far things are looking great IMO.

heard and seen it all

now this is the killer quote..

Quote
Will it make folks money? No one can know that for sure

you have to have coins to dump on unsuspecting newbs to make money that's how you make money. idiot

My a2000 source fucked up my big order of 36 cards march 7 is new date.

Hopefully they freed up your funds so you can shop around  Wink

yes they did.

My choice was buy

7x A5000
2x A2000
7x A4000. get them by Friday the 7th of Jan

or wait for 36 x a2000 get them by 7th of March.

just about 29000 usd for get the gear now and hash rate of  1200mh

or wait 2 months and get hash rate of 1440mh cost of 23000. on paper waiting was a tiny bit better. but sometimes a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

Took the gear now. we will be at 9gh by next Monday.

wise choice.

a February pump will fuck up your march purchase for sure LOL

ROI'd cards are always better whatever the cost is.

cards on hand are on the path to ROI "ness"  Wink
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU scarcity finally going away? on: January 02, 2022, 07:41:12 AM
GPU = money printer

Money printer value = depends on how much money it prints.

Scarce or not, the ability to generate money (less electrical cost) determines value.

As long as people see them as money printers, it will be scarce. Everyone wants money printers.

233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your best MOBO in your farm on: December 23, 2021, 01:50:33 PM
If you can't do some troubleshooting then don't build rigs yourself, even the best B250 pro motherboard can give bad signs at times, you need to know some basics about motherboard if you want to be a miner for example changing CMOS battery, finding faulty ram sticks, changing settings in bios etc this are just normal things to know

my s775 msi p35 ddr2 ram board that is now a teenager has 4 LED lights that during POST shows green and red. if the four LED lights turned green, it means it is booting to the OS, the problems you said are does not exist if the lights are green, saves me the time and trouble hehe.

if the lights are green and i can't remote access, then i have to plug a monitor to see what is the issue.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hire a engineer to build me cooling system like a fridge/freezer on: December 22, 2021, 11:08:58 PM
Cooling strategy depends on which country you are living in, right now it's harmattan season in my country and I'm using my GPUs mining rigs to warm my body, my GPUs hardly reach 50°C  Grin I'm so happy about this result even my RTX 3070ti are all doing so well, you will be fine with whatever cooling design you go with mate cos I have a friend that uses A/C in is mining farm since last year no single GPU dead so far

A/C for mining??...top is in LOL
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your best MOBO in your farm on: December 22, 2021, 10:19:30 PM
The GA-970A-DS3P has been a good choice for many miners for many years. Very cheap components and no BIOS settings, works out of the box. Serves excellently for over 5 years.
Only specialized motherboards for mining are better than this motherboard.
Used such motherboards are sold after 4-5 years of mining, and may have problems in the form of broken ports, etc. I do not recommend buying without checking.

I got these boards too
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's your best MOBO in your farm on: December 22, 2021, 01:02:50 PM
the best motherboard for me is my msi p35 with ddr2 ram and quad core. been mining since 2013 LOL
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of mining on: December 22, 2021, 06:44:42 AM
If the prices don't dip that much like you guessed, then everything will go fine.

You know it won't, if eth price is unchanged and it stays sideways for the next 2 years then because of difficulty, profit will always go lower and lower till we hit that x where farms are not profiting anymore and by then anybody with higher than their electrical cost are out of the game but it depends on many things, I guess only farms with eth asics will survive and make some profit because they are the most efficient per kwh x mhs and those farms will push profit lower and lower because they can. That is if eth does not go pos next 2 years, mining now is a dangerous game because hardware is expensive and the future is uncertain.

Anyway, the truth here is only scammers are earning good money in this bullmarket, scammers create a new scamcoin everyday, market and hype it, sheeps then try to get into close to the top of the pyramid scheme as fast as they can so they can lure other sheeps and slaughter them, rinse and repeat every cycle.

Scammers and hackers are on top of the food chain LOL
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of mining on: December 21, 2021, 11:15:59 PM
About the market, the same thing will happen this time, will be no different than 2011, 2014 or 2018, crypto is a very high risk market, nobody wants to hold the bag once things go south because selling high and buying very low is the way to go to increase your money next bullscamrun, reason why people are not selling yet their btc or eth is because they still believe there will a last bulltrap and I'm one of them, many coins have been bleeding no stopping since may and others since september 2021, meaning they are not buying them and are concentrating on eth and btc and some other top 10 coins on that last bulltrap that is coming, 99% of coins will not rise much in value if btc and eth prices rise 40% and the reason is history, in 2018 everything rose with btc and eth, and everything crashed faster than btc and eth to record low, people will not make the same mistakes they have done in 2018, so I think only top 10 coins will have a dramatic rise on the last bulltrap, everything else will see a minor rise and once eth and btc starts crashing from top then those coins will be liquidated very fast to another record low, that is when bear market will be upon us, manipulators have one more card to throw then gameover and they know it. So my advice is, dont buy altcoins other than ravecoin, rvn halving is approaching, that can have a dramatic increase too and then a huge crash after the halving hype, rvn have been bleeding since its top which was $0.30 and now is around $0.08, use extreme caution when dealing with altcoins.

About mining, if you have gpus keep mining, no point buying or selling gpus right now, expect the hehell crash then sell gpus first sight hehell crash is upon us, trust me you will still get a good value for them if you act fast and remember if eth devs are really merging eth1 + eth2 in july 2022 then gameover, mining is done for a long time, till we see something in the horizon next 3 years or so, profit will be negative, just like it was from november 2018 to july 2020. Even if eth devs dont merge in july 2022 then expect negative profits too for a long time, no place to run here but will be less felt and dramatic  than if the merger happens. If the merger happens then will be death everywhere, the extension of the pain, misery will be the worst seen in mining, if you think 2014 and 2018 was bad, the magnitude of that will be 100 times worse than 2014 or 2018. So extreme caution here is necessary if you value your financial life.

LOL, there is some truth to this..

you know..people cramming inside one coin (ETH) (for gpus BTW)...felt like not so decentralized for mining profit, like swatting so many flies in an area with one stroke.

take a hint from those ETH copycats like binance chain and solana. they didn't do mining shit, well.. it is ponzi factory LOL. like ETH with ERC (insert number here LOL), solana might do mining (yeah after controlling the supply hehe)

people are in it for the ponzi...*cough*..money..

back then the prospecting for shitcoins are more decentralized with lots of POW, now they are inside platform coins which are not mineable and tokens that are not mineable.

just wait till people are screaming SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!..they'll leave, probably return to scream a few more SCAM! SCAM! and then leave for good..then you buy a shit ton of shit coins the most ponziable kinds and then retire.. easy to say, easy to read but it is really fuckin hard to do LOLOL
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Identifying Bad PCIE riser cards on: December 18, 2021, 09:09:17 PM
It is much worse if you have it in an 8 gpu rig and the whole system hangs, leaving those 8 gpus on standby lol

Yes. Having  spares is a must, but having a rig with one card (with riser) (you can still get away with 2 card rig), that functions as a test rig will keep you from throwing good riser and cables. What if it is the cable? You could have thrown the riser, vice versa.

It can also be the sata, moles and pcie connector that is getting getting burned(not fully burned)-->this might not be "that' noticable, can easily be overlooked.

240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: thermal pads for gddr6x and a bit of patience on: December 18, 2021, 08:57:39 PM
around 11 W/(m*K) is the sweet spot for gddr6x specially if you are a miner, if you are on gddr6 then 7 W/(m*K).

I have changed the thermal pads today, I dont mine with my 2 x evga 3080, so I never bothered about changing it, since my deep learning software dont use memory aggressive like eth, these gpus i bought back in february for $900 each, so evga was still using bad thermal pads, many people who bought old cards need to change if they want to use aggressive memory overclocks.

EVGA 3080 ftw3 needs both 1mm and 1.5mm, combine them into a 2.5mm and use it on the memory, vrm and mosfests can be used the same ones that came with the gpu as there is no need to cool them down more than it was already done by evga pads, so no need to spend money on that and buy a 15kw for it, if somebody wants a little better memory temps 3mm for the back is also good too if you place a fan on the backplate of the gpu. I used gelid 15wk, https://www.amazon.com/Gelid-Solutions-GP-Ultimate-90x50x0-5mm-TP-GP04/dp/B0824ZMJLY?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

This https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-85x45x2-5mm-Conductive-Resistance-Silicone/dp/B094Z9TLJ7 is a better alternative and it has at 2.5mm however it is at 12.5kw, little less effective than the gelid 15kw however its price cant be beaten and as gelid has no 2.5mm, so this product is a lot better in value.

End result mining eth
before padding,  memory 106 - 110c,
after padding, memory 74c - 80c

Yeah, you need a bit of patience. I spent 4 hours on both gpus. Anyway now if I want I can mine memory intensive algos, will keep them on imaging and deep learning for now, actually changing thermal pads was fun.

Thermalpad longevity is another thing to consider, let's see if they will still perform after summer.
