@ citronick nice numbers.
@ marvell2
smos has become better as time goes on.
they have nice clocking on the fly. rebooting and advanced features.
i am impressed my gear keeps working.
this past weekend i had to replace some zotac fans on a 1080ti
it is back up and doing well.
Get well soon to your wife Phil.I still have 1070ti GPUs to revive and dust off from the storeroom. I have given up on 470s and 1060/P106-100.... on ETH its off by 10-20% of their usual peak hash rates - the DAGs have pretty much maxed on the 470/4gb and barely on the 1060/p106 with 6GB. Their power consumption vs hash, has not been profitable after electricity expenses.... maybe put them to work for BEAM or KAWPOW or ETH/TeamRedMiner (RX470/480) to overcome the 4gb barrier... There very old cards like 390s and Fury Minis, retired long time ago, dont know what mining there will be good for. Too bad because the 390s have 8gb and HBM memory, and 4gb HBM for the Fury take a look at beam III for fury they can do ~20 sols 390s are not that far ~17 sols..390s might be better at ethash.

Listing fees have been historically included BIS is on multiple exchanges
you know clearly what we are talking about. We are not signing any shady deal
says who? listing fees are shady? ...and dumping the entire dev fund on our community just to bribe a popular exchange
okay let's skip the dev fund, ....soooooo..nobody dumped? heeeeeheeeeehee...I BeLiEVe ya! Stop being mean and greedy
yes. mean on pointing things out? greedy on what?

DO YOU PLAN AT DASH TO REDUCE THE COLLATERAL TO CREATE A MASTERNODE? 1000 COINS IS VERY EXPENSIVE
Succes is all about regnonicing opportunities in life and acting on them. Dash was $49,50 on 13th of March 2020. Costs for setting up 1 masternode (excluding server renting costs) : $49,500 Dash is currently $101 today. Costs for setting up 1 masternode (excluding server renting costs) : $101,000 Since Dash has entered into a bullish phase, those costs for setting up 1 masternode will only get higher. Dash ATH costs for setting up 1 masternode : $1,642,000 from three years ago (2017). What some see as expensive, others see as cheap (and visa versa). It is all subjective. but you didn't sell your masternode. talking about "opportunities".... my ass LOL remember there is only 1 rule in peak bull market. sell the fucking top, might not be the exact top but you get the point and don't get fooled by the HODL you dash shitcoin narrative.

I would like to see a listing on a major exchange. The exchanges on which this Bismuth coin is currently traded cannot provide it with the necessary liquidity.
Hail adventurer, For sure a big exchange listing would help with market liquidity. Its always been a goal of the teams to get listed, but there are difficulties that always arise.. mainly greedy exchanges with huge listing fees. So if you were a project lead, and could either finance your project for 1-2 years, or pay listing fee for big time exchange... what would you do? The less risky answer is always keep the project financed and keep chugging along. Props to the team for their hard work, transparency, and constant development. The market cap does not reflect how truly innovative Bismuth is. Lets make some noise on social channels and keep the momentum going! Go BIS! LOL. did it even occur to you the dev/team/foundation finance should include listing fees? If they don't put their money where their stake is, then why should anyone?

I remember philipma1957 theory back then that nvidia or amd can pump gpu mineable coin/s to be able to make a killing selling the upcoming-just at the corner release of new cards.
will it happen? 2017 shows it is profitable for them. just look how shitty grin is and the marketcap is small hehe
A few months ago, I shutdown my modest 40 rigs GPU farm and I invested in "a couple" FPGAs (Blackminer). I maintained some of my 1080tis to mine on mostly speculative coins.... but ended up using the FPGA platform to mine new coins like TRB, KDA, AEON, PMEER to name a few. These past weeks, I have seen a single F1-Ultra making 12$ after power cost at today's TRB spot price. Since last week, I have been dusting the rest of my 1080tis to mine ETH/Nicehash.... all 13 of them brings me around 20$-24$ per day but electricty will still take a bulk of the takings. Moving forward, unlike 2017... Looks like I have to use them FPGAs because a single FPGA can replace dozens of GPUs, consuming only a fraction of power bill. Some other coins that I am mining.... like Nimiq, Verus is currently best on GPU, CPU POW respectively. I have not bought any new GPUs and I am not sure I will ever will because when a new promising coin comes about, I will just load up the bitstream image on the FPGA and mine you go. I guess the miners journey from GPUs to CPUs to ASICs to FPGAs: to learn, adapt and keep up to speed on the various mining strategies and their communities like Phil's thread. Great mining everyone.... everything is green at the moment...... good luck to us all! you learn and adapt, then the coins learn and adapt, then the market learn and adapt. it is a shit show LOL just be good at each of us do best time is also a factor, circumstances and opportunities differ, some make more by trading and they don't care an ounce of shit about mining.

when people are mining with air conditioned rigs. you sell your coins and RUN! Exactly, but we are not quite there yet hehe, crypto has to rise a lot yet, remember the $20 per card per day? hehe, this week, crypto reached $1 per card per day again, so there is a lot to go before that. the trick or the gamble here is if you keep the coins of that 1$ a day per card mining and sold that coins at 20$ a day per card mining, works like you also mined a 20$ per card back then too. that scenario will send some mining devs in heaven limbo just like claymore and wolf hehe

You accidentaly added 2x s9e and it burned the breaker ?
That breaker is already hot/warm from your load. And it finally get cooked after little push.
80amp breaker at 60amp load is warm some breaker are already warm at 40-50amp loads.
A bigger amp rating of 100amp can solve that problem, but the danger is overloading the wires since you get confused by your endpoints/outlets. I used this as a solution so i can max out my mining, here is the catch, the way i setup my outlets is that they rather burn at the endpoints when overloaded than burning the mains and taking everything down, will only affect around 2 rigs.

My 1080ti's are whaling on eth!
damn 9 cards are pulling in over 20 usd a day
this is the part where some will hesitate to buy cards and some are waiting to sell their cards..both will own cards later on to those who hold on to their 1080ti's good for you all hehe meanwhile me adding another 2gb ddr2 to my 4gb ddr2 mining rigs got my eth hash to normal ~50mh instead of ~20mh lol. skip the rtx 2080/ti gen and their 8gb backwards design. save the money, be patient I think the 30xx series is a rightful upgrade.

Q10 is the most interesting question at this interviews. 10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem? philipma1957 Can some one in this thread please write what this is as I do not know what it is. So I won't google it to just give a flip answer here. Loycev This is the first time I hear that name. Foxpup Is that an Ethereum thing? The Pharmacist Nothing, since I don’t even know what that is OMG. It's really unbelievable. 4 active veteran member of forum said that they doesnt know anything about DeFi. I'm not sure about DeFi platforms can survive or cant. But not knowing anything about DeFi is realy interesting. been here since 2011. never heard of it either. things are happening outside this forum, we should keep a sharp eye out there .. well.. profits!, you'll never know, might hit something, always be on the look/hunt.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone still using Windows 7 ?

my windows 7 mining rigs from 2013 are still up and running.
basic security tips
-an anti virus-firewall with "application control"--> will ask permission to connect to the internet-normally you block anything that is not mining related.
-basic network security(router thing), ip address and mac address, know your IP's and MAC's and block the rest and also block them from connecting to your latest main PC where you may have some shitcoins.

BTW in cleaning your cards that has a bit of oily/grimy thing in it, better use a tooth brush-like that are thick (plastic) the kind you can find at hardware stores, it will more like throw/sprinkle the dirt away from the components, while thinner-real tooth brush will just squish the dirt around and an air blower can't do shit to grimy dirt.
no problem if you can't get the card squeaky clean from oil- that's not conductive, the black-grime-dirt is what you need to remove.
cards now have very small components unlike the old days but thick brushes can still clean it.
