a liquidation is happening to a LLC (limited liability company)

LIMITED LIABILITY = means cryptopia owners personal assets are out of the issue and safe.

when cryptos in their hands are worth more than the company these owners/crooks can "trim the fat" and declare bankruptcy..a legal way to steal your money.

where will the liquidators will get the money? the bills that wasn't paid by the owners? as if it will magically appear out of nowhere...-->look might as well sell some of these cryptos and pay ourselves.

they accumulated those bills and debts to save their $$ because they will run  it to the ground

ever wondered that these cryptopia defenders here that claimed that are unofficial/volunteers and never been in the cryptopia's site are here still defending? hehe

since everything is already planned..these pricktopians will tell us,->hey just stick to the liquidation/process, it is legal...but they already know the outcome.

just a caution, nicehash might pull off the same stuff....family involve just like cryptopia...putting family in critical spots--you know trust issues hehe

Thank Joel....great article.  It encapsulates everything I've thought...and the reason why I've backed DASH this whole time.  OG crypto ecosystem just doesn't get it.  That is why Bitcoin adoption has stopped growing and is in fact shrinking.  It is why all these other "crypto" projects wont succeed either.  They are built and run by fringe members of society like cyber punks and crypto anarchists that don't value the rest of society.  And thus will always fail in mass adoption because they can't relate.

It would be sad if dash gave up on anonymity and would allow mass surveilance on its users.
But that is what it has to do if it wants to get positive reviews from the western fake news media in the future.
However we already have such a coin its called "Ripple" thus theres no need for another one.

There are plenty coins with transparent blockchain, mainly bitcoin clones that get absolutely no attention at all.
Dash would not privacy would be Dash without fungibility, I am sure no one in the community can seriously consider that as a viable option.

Have I missed anything important or what is this discussion about? DASH isn't considering giving up on anonymity, is it?

That is an old thread you are quoting, and if you read the initial post and the replies that followed carefully then you know this is not about a consideration on giving up on anonymity. It's about an opinion raised in the first post  that Dash will never get any real love from the Bitcoin community even if there was no instamine, or even if Dash did not develop the anonymity / privacy part. The first post goes into the why of that opinion (providing social and cultural reasons).

Personally I believe Dash perception and image has been improved this year, after it kept integrating, expanding and following through on its long road towards Dash Evolution and thereby making Dash both more easy to use and more easy to obtain. I guess we changed from the black sheep of the crypto scene to the somewhat more greyish sheep of the crypto scene  Undecided

Do you really think DASH has ever been the black sheep of the scene? I mean there have been massive scams out there and DASH can neither count into that category nor be a category of its own in that regard.

What i do know is that Dash for a time was under constant attacks by trolls, had (and still has) difficulty getting any references (positive or negative) on Coindesk and was constantly hammered on its instamine history. This by itself could give people the impression that Dash was viewed
as the black sheep of the market. That impression does not necessarily mean it should be viewed as fact, and the article that
started this all was an opinion article so far i can tell.

Personally i rather view Dash as a crypto project in an underdog position (especially in the early years) fighting for regnonition of its achievements, rather then viewing it as a black sheep.

True although the instamine story wasn't wrong was it? Then again you could argue that the distribution of most of the coins is questionable.

No, the instamine story was not wrong. Trolls just tried really hard to falsely tie it all to a premine and a scam. Also a lot of other crypto projects had questionable distribution / startup problems.

instamine = mining instantly after launch to grab tremendous amount of coins by the founder and his friends to be later on placed as collateral to dictate the future of dash.

yup the instamine story was not wrong  Wink

Yes, the problem is that also master nodes are involved so there is an issue with a perhaps unfair distribution in the beginning.

they wanted it, here is a statement on the instamine by one of the foundation member/insider of dash team....it was meant to be unfair since day 1, they didn't admit it at first  Cheesy

instamine was brilliant.  In fact...its now my belief that any successful coin must either premine or instamine to actually fuel a full dev team and a full blown project.  We are creating a system to compete with fiat...not a crypto nerd token. Gone are the days when Bitcoin started when no one really knew what or where this was all going.

To create a system that will compete with any real money system will take 10's of millions of dollars in development and foundation building.  It will take millions of dollars to actually fuel properly.  You don't attempt what DASH is trying to do with childish dice games on shady gambling sites, donations or what ever charity one can cook up.

Instamined or Ninja Mined and even Premined...is a must.

Quote
Facts about the instamine
1. There was no pre-mine in Dash
2. ~1.86MM first 24h, ~2.02MM first 48h according to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/#@inflation
3. That represents approximately 10-15% of the total money supply that will ever be issued
4. This coin issue rate exceeded the published emission schedule by a wide margin

looking at number 3, that amount of coins in masternodes, how many coins those  (~1.86MM first 24h, ~2.02MM first 48h) earned through 2019?? that's the new golden question.
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I Bought 150+ GPUs for Ethereum mining. Think I'm Insane? on: June 13, 2019, 08:40:22 AM
being a miner does not limit you to be a miner..

you can POS coins, masternodes, invest, trade, buy gold, buy real estate, when you limit yourself (in your mind) to be a miner then you'll just be a miner.
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: June 12, 2019, 07:00:42 AM
I've logged into my Nicehash account probably since the hack and its still stuck at 76%. Wondering if its worth it to just cut the losses and take the 76% now that BTC is higher.

Anyone know what the "End repayment program" button does? I am assuming it makes them not pay you anymore, why would anyone click that?

i didn't enter the repayment program, there was a certain percentage of BTC that was returned, remaining BTC owed still visible.

i withdraw what was returned a few weeks ago, now a little amount was transferred to again from what was owed..

i think you can withdraw that 76%  and wait until the remaining balance is withdrawable

but here is the catch, nicehash removed my old balance some months ago, because "the repayment program ended" so all is gone if i didn't act, i emailed them and repayment program was re enabled in my account, i didn't enter that program, took what i can withdraw, now just waiting until all is paid.

Saw this post and got feedback that this is old news - anyone can confirm?

https://decrypt.co/7370/nicehash-founder-charged-fraud

I have a bunch of X13 ASICS still on Nicehash and it will be a sad day if NH goes away.

December 2017 hack was probably an inside job--->sell high, refund through repayment program

just like cryptopia hack February 2019 hack--->buy low, refund users in fiat with a lot of deductions(hack, expenses etc.)

they all stink of inside job, they know stuff, they know how things work and they think they can get away with it...with so much money on their hands it was irresistibly tempting.

if they are gone, someone will simply replace them.

How did they know that Bitcoin would peak in Dec 2017 so they could refund by buying back cheaper coins in the bear market? They couldn't. I think its just a coincidence that they got hacked right at the peak.

From what I remember they got some share holder or some company to lend them money so they could start the repayment program, it happened when BTC was pretty high (i think in 5 digits somewhere).

What would they do if BTC eventually went to $100,000 a coin? They would have to pay more to refund thru repayment program? It just doesn't make sense.

charts, crypto volume, number of miners, crypto traders, raining ICO's...are some signs of a incoming peak of bitcoin, now invert that logic and you have signs of bottom coming.

did a quick search and found this..

kind of like cryptopia, family involved hehe

here is the trick.."LLC" limited liability company--> "limited liability" this is a legal way to protect personal assets.

just do a simple math here.., and when crypto exceeds the company's value, you can either "trim the fat" or simply retire.

a self hack exit scam executed legally  Cool

the refund program by the way is in BTC not USD..

Late reply to the thread 8 question about Zotac - I'm starting to have fans fail on the few Zotac mini cards I own.
I can NOT recommend most of their cards (or the NEW model EVGA stuff) due to their use of "fancy name" sleeve bearing fans and the resulting FAST FAILURES on those fans.

I'm more than a little ticked off at EVGA lately, as they're moving across the board away from their long-time use of GOOD ball bearing fans to JUNK - first it was the bloody G3 power supplies, now their graphic cards....

I haven't ever used a Zotac brand GPU, however I am aware that they are more on the cheaper brand of aftermarket GPUs.

Regarding the sleeve bearing fans, are those similiar to those of the Gigabyte Windforce series type of fans? They were notorious for failing constantly due to the bad design and always allowed dust to come inside the bearing and caused them to fail prematurely.

I have RMA'd a bunch of them only to get the same issue about 6-12 months later. What I found is best for those fans was to take some floss and put it around the fan blade and pull the blade off, and you can see the bearing and oil it with mineral oil and it'll last another 6 months or so.

Basically I got so good at it because of the frequency that they failed that its possible to perform it while it was still on the rig. So maybe try and pull the fan blade and try to reoil the Zotac GPUs instead of RMA'ing them.

zotac amp extreme isn't cheap, it is the top tier of the lineup, clocked higher and better cooling. i have 1 1080ti aorus extreme, fans are working but i think the cooler design is sub par compared to amp extreme, i used liquid metal on it and put 2 PWM fans and it's very cool now.

amp extreme - top tier of zotac have 'sturdy plastic' fans, that's why i was able to pull it off while it was still mining. and being on a riser helps because the cable moves when handling but not affecting the gpu-socket connection (unless gpu is screwed-steady just like in a typical case).

i got zotac 1080ti amp extreme..

i was successful at pulling of a fan which is not spinning (real time-while still mining), cleaned the sleeve brass like material and anything that has dark like material (oily--oil with very fine dust--looks like grease) with alcohol..apply a drop or two of oil, snap the fan back in and voila --spins like new hehe

i was thinking, it might not be some fine dust, it can be metal, just like how motor oil turn from clear to asphalt like inside car engines.

BTW i've seen fans that didn't spin for a month or two (gpu was still cool enough and i got lazy), it was fixed..the longest i've seen not spinning was the one fan on my zotac 1080 amp extreme, it was months (i didn't count) and i just left it not spinning, when i tried cleaning and oiling it was fixed.

fan speeds are 70-75

power limit ~75

This is hilarious, dumbasses blackmailing a bankrupt company the stupidity of some idiots.

https://twitter.com/CryptoJ0ules/status/1132762617620172801?s=19

I'd be more worried about this wording:

"...but the information they need is hosted on servers run by an Arizona company..."

and

"The liquidators are concerned that if they don't pay the Arizona company, Cryptopia's data could be overwritten or lost."

This implies that Cryptopia don't have a local (or otherwise external) backup of their own data.

if ever there is a bill to be paid that just accumulated for years/months, the exit scam was planned for a long time. because paying bills will be covered by cryptopia users and they rather keep the money.

Tradesatoshi.com belongs to Adam Clark.
Well he is also one of the owners of the now bancrupt exchange cryptopia.
All victims of cryptopia know now how they were cheated.
After the hack around 15% of funds were lost.
But most of the remaining cryptos were not able to be traded or withdrawn afterwards.
So Cryptopia made mode damage than the hackers.
False and missing information from the scammers at cryptopia.
All Funds inside are now lost.
But until the last day they allowed deposits, so they rose the damage.
Just keep that in mind, if you trade on tradesatoshi.com with at least one of the same guys...and think twice if you can trust them....

As far as I am aware Tradesatoshi does not belong to Adam Clark.

Francesco Alibrandi started Tradesatoshi and paid Adam Clark for the code to set up an exchange. Since then the exchange has changed a lot and has other site developers.
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09878766/officers

Since then Tradesatoshi moved its jurisdiction from the UK to HK.
According to the HK company records Francesco Alibrandi is still the sole director.
