481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Closed Mining Rig - Questions about fans on: June 25, 2021, 07:39:03 AM
Yes the room temperature might be an issue but i can only complain on it, not solve it.

just to let you know, if ever you perfected those "fan solutions"...it is only throwing hot air from from GPUs to the mining room in general, after you maximize the maximum temp potential of the room, there is nothing you can do about it.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: June 25, 2021, 07:00:35 AM
I have not written for this forum in a long time, my work has kept me busy.

Over time and unfortunately for me, part of what I said more than a year ago that would happen has come true.

I said Dash would lose the top 50 and it has.

I said that the DEFI market would shift the tenure of master nodes, and it has been, from more than 5000 in a few months to just over 4450.

Stacking with other theoretically more versatile currencies such as ETH gains followers, even ATOM, or simply adding liquidity on decentralized exchanges offers similar returns to maintaining a complet master node, or shared node.

Everything that Dash contributes is very good, but there are more and more currencies that offer similar things.

Last week, for example, I made a couple of movements in ETH and I expected to pay high commissions, however they did not exceed $ 1, and the confirmation time was about 20 seconds.

Regarding the issue of privacy ... something for me fundamental as a right, it seems to have gone to a second level, and coins like Monero that have been clear since their creation have progressively grown.

It's not worth looking for guilty here, I guess we're all guilty.

For some time now I look at my Dash and I know that it will grow less than other currencies or that it will fall more than them, but it doesn't matter.

Life is elections, and when I said that the good path was not Venezuela, that we had to focus on the USA or Europe, nobody cared.

Today we reap what we have sown. I sincerely wish you health and luck in your lives and good luck to Dash.

a cordial greeting

Dash is a ponzi, a better ponzi comes along..of course Dash ponzi dies  Grin
483  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Can you prove Randomness? on: June 25, 2021, 06:29:59 AM
randomness is the lack of knowledge of how the end result was achieved.

true randomness is where even with backward engineering/pattern recognition/brute force. no one can replicate the method within their lifetime to get the result.

so again
my first number: 9472957392
if you can tell me what my next number, then you have proved randomness does not exist.
if you cant answer. then no point even suggesting randomness does not exist

i hope someone else can see the logic in this post  Cheesy

I personally believe that there is no such thing as "Random". Science is basically the study of Patterns. For the Patterns, we can't identify yet we through in the words like "Random / Chance/ Luck/ Chaos" etc. It's the equivalent to the word "Magic". I'm not a determinist btw. It's just our lack of knowledge at this point. One day given that we have enough resources to identify these "Random Patterns", they won't be "Random" anymore. So my question is why do we even use words like "Random" when we can't even prove Randomness exists...

ha! therefore randomness exists outside of the human mind. gotcha! it exist LOL  Wink
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Closed Mining Rig - Questions about fans on: June 25, 2021, 05:53:55 AM
people always focus in the "fans of their cases", basically that is "good enough"...what miners should be focusing on is the room temperature. I would say 90% of the problems with cooling can be solved with cooling the room
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Too good to be true rig offer on: June 24, 2021, 07:41:33 AM
sooooo this is where it all end up with GPUs hehehe....life and death.  Cheesy

that's why i don't deal my gpus to people, they will all rot with me...what's a shitcoiner/miner without gpus? I just made money off crypto and keep the gpus. tried it in the past and it is not worth my time and effort LOL
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPUs are not being sold as fast as used to be on: June 23, 2021, 09:22:46 AM
it is good that miners (here in mining altcoins section)in 2020-21 are talking about market cycles compared to mindless mining that i see back in the days, they deserved to metroid'd haha

ETH is almost back to the price I sold and I did not buy it back yet and I will not, will wait below 500 usd to buy back. If history repeats, eth's bottom is around 250 usd for now and about gpus, I would not buy any yet, 3080 are sold around 3k yet, time to buy is once 3080 crashes below msrp or 700 usd, life getting back to normal, the 3080 might even crash to 400 usd, will see.

i think the "msrp thing" does not exist, probably it exist just to say "we are good , we don't do evil prices".. allocate a few to justify the "msrp thing" then make a killing on the rest.

there are two things to consider, the inflation and global chip shortage. prices are rising, those numbers you said i think that were the prices in the last market cycle. and the chip shortage-it feels different now. the first store where i bought 3080ti, after i bought, it is sold out already, the same with the second store, although i didn't asked if they used to have a lot of stocks but it felt like they only had 1pc to sell.

It is a leftist/zionist agenda to destroy the fairest exchange medium on earth, simple as that.

how about a rightwing/aryan plot to destroy the fairest exchange medium on earth simple as that?

the reality is rich mother fuckers use techniques like pointing the left against the right

in order to bitchslap btc and pow in general.

no true btc believer shall let the rich trick fuck them.

buy and hodl.

if you really think about it, al this "carbon thing" the governments are trying to limit/compute/save .... is just one volcano fart away LOL  Grin

ETH mining will soon be over because nothing lasts forever, atleast we've enjoyed this moment for many months already if my calculations is correct ETH mining have been profitable since DeFI start it's hype in 2020, the best time to build a mining rig is bear market if you can take your eye off the lower profits and of cos if you have free/cheap electricity

it is easier said than done, i shilled 3080 and 3090 last year and there are people who didn't agree with me LOL.

well technically you should build right before the bull run start, ideally if newer-faster-more efficient gpus are coming out. in peak bear market it is better buying coins than gear.
Yes i agree some coin buying cheap can make profit really good.

it is good that miners (here in mining altcoins section)in 2020-21 are talking about market cycles compared to mindless mining that i see back in the days, they deserved to metroid'd haha
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPUs are not being sold as fast as used to be on: June 22, 2021, 10:03:00 AM
I suspect come August there will be a lot of GPUs hitting the market that were mining ETH.  It also makes you wonder where all of that hashrate is going to go.  Ravencoin?  Beam?  Will that cause a massive price spike as GPU miners search for a profitable way to mine with their gear, or will we see a sale on GPUs the likes we've never seen before?  Personally, I think a bit of both.  There are going to be some big opportunities in the coming months as this scenario plays out, weave your way through the markets carefully.

probably the old models, but not the latest models. some 3xxx have not ROI'd yet and the lack of supply means there are not as many going around as the previous bear market sell off.
Not so fast Smiley It will not cheap in month lol. maybe it can last whole year.

it seems global chip market (shortage) still has no signs or recovery, this gpu price down might be temporary due to crypto dump that started in may. what if crypto recovers? then we are back to fighting over GPUs LOL

really good price on a very good seasonic focus psu

https://www.ebay.com/itm/304000784083

98 bucks for a 650 watt platinum psu

this is usually over 120

newegg is selling it.

650 watts? what are you going to do with that weakling?

for me worse case scenario, 1000w will be the lowest psu purchase for me..ideally for me minimum is 1200w.

look at the efficiency curve, anything above 50% load ~300w, that psu will start to degrade to "gold", "silver" and "bronze" efficiency. a 1300w gold psu is 92% efficient at 650W load. so if you put around 350w load in that PSU that is technically in "gold" efficiency category.

Where I live, price still the same, actually is a lot more expensive, 3070 is being sold for 2500 usd and 3080 for 4000 usd, 3090 for 5000 usd, insane prices. Before the bs, the 3070's were being sold for 600 usd each.

I'm starting to think metroid lives in a good mining area for gpus to command such a high price his area  Cheesy
In the different places different prices. In the city with several millions citizens - there more GPUs then in small town. In such cities prices change quicker. In my city the prices slowly moves down about 3-4 weeks.

yeah, small town prices were good before the gpu price plague hit them. before cities there are countries that got high price first before others.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hey crypto miners with Nvidia GPUs on HiveOS, wake up! Too many bad OC settings! on: June 19, 2021, 05:34:01 PM
lowering the core power consumption means lowering its heat, therefore it will also lower the temps of those gddr6x of the 3080, 3080ti and 3090.

the core and vrams is using the same heatsink and board, they are very close to each other.

gddr6x is notoriously hotter than gddr6 so if you own those cards, yeah cool down your cores! it is a must!

BTC maxers do us no favors.

but what do I know.

On a good news 🗞 note.

My wife finally has an xray result with no lung fluids in them.

She got covid Dec 31, 2019

Was hospitalized Jan 10 to Jan 16 , 2020.

Double pneumonia from ? no covid tests that early.

Took her two months to clear the covid infection say march 2020.

But hacking wet cough and lung fluids never stopped.

She was hospitalized again Oct 2020 unlying cause was found and surgery fixed it.

Lungs still had damage and fluid.

Treatment treatment. Went on a high end exotic steroid St Patrick’s day  march 17th.

it cleared out her lungs and on the sixth chest xray In the last 18 months here lungs are finally clear.

So we will be joining the real world 🌍 and going back out to dinners and parties etc.

End result she has beaten covid-19 with very little lung scarring. And over 97% normal lungs for a 65 year old.

Next covid adventure will be for me as I may need treatment for damage covid caused me.

It feels good to not worry about this shit anymore.

Back to mining
I wont say we are going flat.
I wont say we are dropping more.
I wont say we are going up to the moon.

But I am selling every Doge I mine.
I am selling every eth I mine.
I am selling every Ltc I mine.
I will hodl all the btc I mine.

If we drop a lot I may sell ½ the btc I mine.
I will hodl my btc stack. plus make it grow.

We will know if we are going bear by sept/oct.

I would recommend anyone to have this in their first aid kit. oil of "wild mediterranean" oregano, you may read some good stuff about it but i'd rather share what i've seen and experience.

when I have not optimized my health yet, i drank cold water from the fridge and it upset something or it was the trigger to start wet cough, in the middle of the chest some small nuisance pain, phlegm start to show, sore throat and a slight fever started.

i melted two capsules in my mouth and let the oil move down my throat, immediate comforting warmth in my throat and specially in the middle of the chest(the nuisance minor pain) is starting to improve, the next day no more fever, everything improve and after two days of use i'm back to normal.

now after i optimized my health i can drink cold water in the fridge like a kid. the more healthy I become the more rare i use this oil, only when there is some tingle in throat.

I know someone who got some fungi infection in the tongue, gave him the oil. the next day it cured him, that same person got exposed to people with covid. got a sore throat, i told him to have some oregano oil, he said no because he didn't take it well in the first time LOL laughed hard because i never imagine someone is more scared of oregano than covid haha. i still gave him that, that next day sore throat is gone.

if you can take a low heat chili, then you can take oil of oregano easily. its fragrant actually, foody fragrant but some people really have fucked up their senses with unhealthy living.

The amd 6700 is meh but the 6800 is pretty good.

got the 6700XT at 46 mhs @ 113 watts on win10 and phoenix just by undervolting it and playing with clocks via the built in AMD tool, whatever its called. not gonna mess with any bios stuff ive had enough of that with my RX470s

got the 6700XT in the shuffle, its the only thing ive won in it so far.

really want a 3080 or 3080ti. for actual gaming if you can believe it heh. but they would sure would pull mining duty when not gaming.

a good 3080ti like suprim x can beat some 3090 in games...can also beat some 3090 in power consumption LOL.

i still don't like what the 3080 did with the 10gb vram, while the 12gb of 3080ti will suffice for now-should still be 16gb to at least match the 6900xt while the 3090 sits on the throne.

for mining, 3080ti price is much closer to a 3080 than a 3090 and the performance is much much closer to 3090. I would say it is a good buy.

Smos works well for me

i'm fine with windows 7, but i won't recommend it. people should test and try, see if it will work well for them.

can you still even get drivers for modern GPUs for win7?

i know that when i installed an AMD 6700XT with the latest AMD win10 driver on my version 1709 of win10 (yes 4 year old install with updates disabled) it said my OS was too old to support the driver. so even old versions of win10 are not supported by AMD it seems.. so i had to update to win10 20H1 or whatever the latest win10 version was as of a couple months ago.

personally i loved 7 but security wise i would really hesitate to use now it except as a last resort or something.

i'm in green team, nvidia.. so didn't encounter that, i was tempted to get some AMD. at least now I learned that there are issues.

BTW.. AMD infinity cache > nvidia LHR  hehe imagine getting cheap with VRAMs made them successfully LHR'd their cards better than nvidia LOL

Phil, or anyone else, what do you use for an OS?  Is HiveOS decent?  I have a small form factor computer I grabbed off ebay, currently plugged one card into it (via pcie extender) and installed hiveos.  Its an AMD card (my only one) and it seems like a giant pain in the ass to administer. hash rate seems to fluctuate for no reason at all and its hardly set and forget.  Should I just install windows?
