221  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: September 27, 2016, 02:51:58 PM
Holding is a great way I think cause we all here believe on this forum that bitcoin hasnt reached full price yet and some people believe it will go to 10k+
I don't believe that but I think 2k should be reachable so I'm here till we reach that point.

most people here have full confidence in bitcoin, but that doesn't mean they should come up with unrealistic predictions such as $10,000, and some even $1,000,000 which is beyond insane. especially while we haven't even managed to reach the $1000 price level yet.
222  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is Bitcoin designed to last forever? on: September 27, 2016, 02:02:34 PM
there is so much nonsense in this thread... it's actually very simple, as long as there are a few miners and people hosting nodes, then it will continue to exist.
223  Economy / Economics / Re: instant bank transfers thoughout whole europe next year reality. on: September 27, 2016, 10:47:50 AM
at this point it takes at least 1 business day to get money from one bank to a bank in a different country in europe. what do you guys think about this? will it be a positive or negative change? i actually like it since i can send money from my bank account to an exchange within europe instantly, and basically the same goes up for when you request a withdrawal.

Are payments from bank to bank using bank cards (through Visa or Mastercard electronic funds transfers) not counted? These bank cards are linked to corresponding bank accounts, and money paid this way gets debited from one account and credited to the other account within minutes. In fact, when I had been paying with my bank card from Europe to the US, the payments went through almost instantaneously...

What am I missing?

nope, these are not counted. it's purely about bank to bank transfers. but yes, i see your point, via that way it was already possible to transact instantly. but not everyone makes use of mastercard or visa. and don't forget about the zero fee aspect that these bank to bank transfers have.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: September 27, 2016, 10:14:08 AM
Bitcoin cannot make banks disappear.  It CAN and is becoming a high competitor/alternative to fiat.  Reason banks cannot disappear is paper money/fiat has to be printed and can be printed.  BTC has a limit, (sadly) paper is limitless.

bitcoin is already an alternative currency. and to be exactly honest, i hope it will stay like this as i like the freedom that we have now. if bitcoin grows too large, then usage will be limited by governments by ridiculous policies. beside the fact that bitcoin can't replace banks and fiat, we should not hope for it to happen. bitcoin is here, so people should make use of it now.

Are you talking about transfers between two different banks? If so, 1 day is crazy fast. What's the balance limit?

Other places it still takes 2 or more days from bank to bank. But account to account within a bank is instantaneous.

yep, i am talking about two different banks transacting with each other instantly instead of waiting for one or more business days. the amounts don't matter either. it has never been this easy to transfer money from one country to the other instantly with banks.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: September 27, 2016, 09:37:43 AM
i do not thing that people hate bitcion they just need so special information and knowledge about bitcoin to love it.

well, you see it wrong. high levels of ignorance can turn into hate at some point when they still don't understand what things are, and how they work. and believe me, these people are definitely here.
227  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: September 26, 2016, 03:04:35 PM
I prefer bitcoin since it is easy to transfer, I can buy stuff online with it(unlike gold), and it is anonymous(although this may be a problem for finding scammers). The only thing that I don't like about bitcoin is it's transactions fees.
You only look the advantage of bitcoin base on your statement, we need to choose both if we have enough money to invest both have own characteristics that will give to us great income.

gold is mostly preferred by traditional investors as it allows them to somewhat avoid dealing with the government. at least, that was the case. nowadays you can only buy gold with an id. the days where you can walk into a store and buy gold without any verification are over.
228  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: September 26, 2016, 02:15:14 PM
USD is a lot bigger then btc is right now this is because USD has been in the game for so long and bitcoin hasn't yet.
Also the currency of the most powerful people is USD so they won't allow bitcoin to lose them money.
it is definitely bigger but in the future i think bitcoin will have potential to replace usd

bitcoin will never replace anything. not sure why some people still think it's possible. bitcoin will remain alternative to fiat currencies for people that like to have financial freedom. the fact that there is no central authority, is what makes people scared. they can't understand how this is possible. these people will most likely continue to use fiat basically for ever.
229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal? on: September 26, 2016, 01:20:02 PM
Bitcoin does everything right which paypal doesn't. Paypal has all your personal information and even force you to verify yourself over and over to reach your funds.
They always suspect their customers of the worst while it's your own money in their pocket.

if you ask people why they like paypal so much, then they will answer with that paypal offers them buyer protection. this is something i can understand to a certain extend, but it's not a nice thing for sellers as they are losing money when people charge back on them.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to 600$ , pure manipulation ? on: September 26, 2016, 12:49:52 PM
I don't think we have to say the recent price pump as manipulation. Price was down for several days after that bitfinex got hacked so people hurriedly bought cheap bitcoins so that price is now near $600. Price swing (pump or dump) of around $25 is possible and quite normal within one day.

people like to have a fantasy about why and what causes the price to go up. in most cases when the price goes up a few bucks, people stay relatively calm, but when the price goes down a few bucks, then people seem to panic and start asking what happened and stuff.
231  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 26, 2016, 10:57:09 AM
Bank does not give me money so I would choose bitcoin wallet, I am more focus now on investment so I will just safe keep my bitcoins in my wallet and make sure I will be able to protect it so in the future when I sell I could enjoy the profits.

what you mean with that the bank isn't giving you money? are you talking about the very low interest rate that you get for saving money in your bank? if that's the case, then you're right. simply holding your coins will not result in your coins increasing in numbers, but the potential price value of the coins makes it interesting to hold your coins.

233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is big problem in using of bitcoin on: September 26, 2016, 10:26:50 AM
I think the problem in using of bitcoin is the price of bitcoin that always changed every hours. It's good for a trader, but it's not good for me that always buying bitcoin every week.

it depends on what you are doing with your coins. if you are constantly spending them, then i can agree that a volatile price is not always wanted by you. but if you just save your coins for the long term, then simply ignore the volatility and try to use it in your advantage by trading from time to time. this is of course assuming you have at least a basic understanding of trading.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is earning bitcoin Boring? on: September 26, 2016, 10:13:46 AM
It is boring. But whatever, its free money. I always spice it up a bit and go betting.

regarding signature campaigns, you know what's making earning bitcoin boring for certain people? it's the fact that they force themselves to post in order to reach their max post count. if you just post for fun, then earning bitcoin is a nice bonus that you will be happy with since it costs you way less effort compared to making forced posts.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: SHOULD BUY BITCOIN RIGHT NOW OR WAITING FOR THE END OF THE YEAR 2106? on: September 25, 2016, 04:55:32 PM
it seems that there will be a signal of rising price in next week .
maybe it will be 650$ in this stage

there is nothing that indicates that the price will go up next week. we will just stay at current levels for a few more weeks, unless a large trader gets tired of waiting for action, and start with dumping as result. having said that, i don't really mind the price staying at the current levels for a longer time. the average joe gets attracted by stability.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: September 25, 2016, 04:39:37 PM
Of course it is, duh

just like any other technology that is usefull, it is also being used.  apple iphones are being used, HP Laptops are being used, email and the internet are being used.  all by criminals...... whats your point?

the fact that the news constantly go on about this should tell you something about bitcoin, they dont like it because it is a game changer...... Grin

that the media is reporting about bitcoin in a bad manner is one thing, but people believing this nonsense is from a completely different level. people shouldn't believe it. if they took the effort to do some research about what the media is saying themselves, then they would know that the media is wrong in the way that bitcoin is not what they say it to be.
Media always projecting negative things of bitcoin more significantly than any positive news. But people will understand and will ignore the wrong news always. Media just need TRP ratings, but their attempt to gain it in wrong way will not last for long. Bitcoin is similar to USD, it has nothing to do with being used for illegal activities.

i know enough people here that see bitcoin as a ponzi scheme. i always get the question of why bitcoin is being used by criminals for money laundry, buying drugs and weapons, and the list goes on. i ask them from where you get this idea? and they answer from tv. so yes, non bitcoiners do believe it.
237  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2017 Year of the Bitcoin on: September 25, 2016, 04:34:54 PM
Waiting patiently for price of BTC to hit 800 a piece. I was looking at historical prices - from Oct 2015 till now, the price has grown 100%. Let's be optimistic about it.

i am definitely happy with the increase that we have seen lately. however, it's very weird, but there are certain people complaining that the price didn't go up after the block halving. these people are still waiting for the block halving event to kick in. Grin
238  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: September 25, 2016, 03:53:35 PM
For now, I only use bitcoin as investment  I cant use it as a currency because there is only few things I can buy with bitcoin in my location. I hope there will be much more stores that accept bitcoin as payment method here.

you can also choose to go for a bitcoin debit card. it's of course not really the same as when you directly use your coins in a local store, but at least it gives you the opportunity to "spend" your coins.

240  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: September 25, 2016, 12:32:27 PM
I think the price is all that matter. Peace

It is the only big reason why traders like to trade on bitcoin vs altcoin and bitcoin vs fiat. However it has a downside, if the price falls too much people may convert all bitcoin to fiat and stop using bitcoin. However the chance is very less.

i think 95% of the people only care about the price, and like 5% are seriously interested in the technology that powers bitcoin, and put it in front of the price when it comes to importance.
