2201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Profitability of Start-ups VS Venture Capital funds VS Martingale on: October 23, 2019, 12:32:05 PM
It would not be fair to compare Startups and venture capital funds with martingale. Martingale is ideally a risk free infinite earning strategy but probability would f**k you sooner or later.
While Startups and venture capital could be risky but you won't lose everything at once and there are much better probabilities of profit than gambling.
Gambling is generally considered a entertainment while other two are investments.
2202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain will build bitcoin data center in Texas on: October 23, 2019, 12:17:53 PM
Bitmain has the best miners and technologies that are unmatched by any other miners. They are not just a mining equipment producer but also the largest miner and pool operator. They have a degree of investment in and on different services and companies like viabtc and coinex. Together they are building a crypto ecosystem just like the GSF.
2203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people easily get scammed on the internet? on: October 23, 2019, 10:42:01 AM
Maybe you can add, lack of knowledge about technology. Most people has the money to invest but lacks knowledge on what and where they are going to be involved to. Not understanding the whole scope of the project, the purpose and it's potential. Also, you can add greed, most investors aim for profit, that is why scam developers create a project that shows a good profit acheme to attract greedy investors.
One factors could also be an impact is that lack of experience. Knowledge do important to avoid this scheme but experience as well. Ignorance, greed could also be a factors. In order to avoid to be scammed, don't go for a transaction without having any idea regard this. It is better to consult to a person who have experienced or ask some advice to a forum.
Lack of experience is a factor, people are easily attracted to high returns in just short time period and it is one of the reason why they got easily scammed by other people. Having enough experience and knowledge can help us to avoid to get scammed.

No, not lack of experience but greed. Lack of experience should refrain people from deciding immediately. When you do not know something, what will you do? It is to avoid giving a commitment or making a rush decision. But the story is different when money or the promise of a big profit is offered. When someone is offered a big profit even if he does not know what it truly is, he might jump right into it then and there. It is not lack of experience that pushes him into becoming a victim, it is greed.
Indeed. Other people just decide immediately that they just follow other people decisions on where they invest their money, which is not a good way to make decisions because it is the reason why people easily get scammed without knowing and checking everything about the project or in a site.

I think people have became lazier. They want everything to happen over internet. People are used to home delivering food and clothes and they also want to deliver success.
People are looking for ways to double their money. They can't wait long to see their money rise. They'd rather lose it all then wait a long time for it to grow.
Many people involved in online scams do know they risk their money being involved. It's not a difficult task to realize there are no prince in Nigeria, yet we can't resist sending him a $100 so that he could send us a chest full of gold.
2204  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the things you hate about Islam! on: October 23, 2019, 03:02:39 AM
Of the little knowledge of Islam I had, it was one of the progressive religion of it's time to start with.
Religion were made as a rule of conduct so that people would do the right things and be afraid to do wrongs. But subsequently it was used by rulers to enforce their power over the citizens. For that, they even misinterpreted the words and traditions to suit them. People revolted and we came up with laws to guide everything and also the religion.
But that didn't happened with Islam, rulers even enforce their rule with the rudimentary religious laws. Christianity was no better in the 17th century.

There are plenty of exceptions in Islam following people and countries. It's also the environment that influence people but still, Islam now is the largest group of brainwashed people in the world, They are obsessed with their god. In 21st century, almost all of people would agree that they'll go with what they feel right than what their religious leaders would say. Not with Islam, who still believes it's good for males to show their face while the females should cover their body.

2205  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do politicians take us for granted? on: October 23, 2019, 02:46:44 AM
The story here in most African countries is weird. Its like the only time these politicians seem to care is when election is approaching. They visit us, give us empty promises and a whole lot. Funny enough, they are voted for massively. Then once they are in power, we are out of the picture. In my country for instance, apart from what I was taught back in school, I cant really pinpoint the essence of the Legislature. From my observation, this has become a cycle. Its like instead of them bringing up policies that will improve lives, they waste resources just like that and master how to make us vote for them when the time comes.
My worry is, are we naive or thats just how the game of politics is played?

Politics has been a dirty game and every politician needs some degree of cunningness to success within their party. Replacing the politicians might not be a solution either as we've seen newer politician more committed to corruption. The greatest power are the people itself. Politicians could be forced to act according to the interest of people. Education is the most powerful weapon.
One of the largest contributing factor for success of democracy is a free and unbiased media.
In case of Africa, things are changing for good. We've seen impressive improvement in lifestyle of many African countries in recent years led by democratically elected leaders.
2206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges Tokens on: October 22, 2019, 04:34:42 PM
I have seen many exchanges have launched their own token like Binance with BNB, Idex with IDEX, Hotbit with HTB, Yobit with YO etc. where exchanges use their own tokens as another way to pay fees to support token. In addition to it, different strategies are used to create a hype like decrease in supply etc.
But if an exchange goes through a hard period of time and shuts downs then ultimately that token will come to its end because there is no community other than that exchange supporting the token simply because it has no usage outside the exchange.
According to me exchanges should promote the usage of their coins/tokens outside the exchange to build a community in support of it. If your community consists of huge individual entities who believe you then a great community can be formed. Otherwise lack of applications would lead these things to disaster.

It's exactly what binance is doing. And whatever the binance does is followed by others. A healthy exchange coin is also an indicator of a healthy exchange. But again sticking to just what works might cause problems in the future. The currently popular exchanges were not here a few years back and the market demand would change sooner than we realized. So, it's also how dynamically an exchange could cope with the changes that would decide the future of exchange based tokens.
2207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 22, 2019, 04:12:12 PM
~Skip

What is your prediction?
After some difficult matches before, I hope Tottenham can beat Liverpool. With the win at Anfiel I think Tottenham will reverse the unfavorable trend of the previous few weeks. Liverpool faced stiff resistance at Old Trafford, and going forward I expect they will lose. Let's hope Manchester City will be able to cut the gap with Liverpool. Wink

It would be really difficult for any of the teams in the EPL to beat Liverpool at the moment let alone Spurs. The draw with the Manchester United was the only match not won by Liverpool in this EPL season. Even though they were the better team, they could not convert the effort into goals. I highly doubt Spurs would be any competition to the team.
2208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: G7 report regarding Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies. on: October 22, 2019, 04:04:00 PM
I think this is a better quote for what you want to point out.

bitcoin has failed to deliver on its two main selling points: storage of value and means of payment. The study enumerates the reasons why the cryptocurrency has not lived up to their expectations, such as:

Highly volatile prices
Limits to scalability
Complicated user interfaces
Issues in governance and regulation

This type of reporting is used as a measure of misleading rather than actualization, as many of the weaknesses reported do not seem logical or can be resolved in the short term.

 - Scalability: This is a current crisis, but efforts are continuing to solve it and I expect that within 3 years we will be able to solve many problems in this direction.
 - Complex User Interfaces: Are you serious?
 - Issues in governance and regulation: I think they are right, but things will change.

I am happy that we have moved away from drugs and dark activities.

All of the issues pointed out by the report are solvable in crypto.
Volatility is due to it's lack of adoption and universal use. Though bitcoin with it's limited supply, it would go on being rarer and rarer everyday and may increase indefinitely which could  not be the case for other crypto like Libra. Scalability could be solved by implementation of Lightning network or similar improvement.
User interface are improving everyday and things are being easier. Governance need to adopt with the change.
2209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You own a decent amount of Bitcoin, How would you increase it on: October 22, 2019, 02:36:17 PM
Greeting all,

I own a decent amount of Bitcoins which were made honestly with right investment & timing since 2012.
During 2017 until 2019, i invested in many different projects and 99% of my investment got wiped almost instantly during 2019.

I did recover some of my losses with the IEO hype but it seems the IEO hype is over now.
I know the right answer is to HODL and just let the sit back and relax but it wont grow my Bitcoins amount.

I read about many so called Bitcoin Banks, Projects,  who promise you 3% interest annually, simply don't believe in holding your bitcoins in one place for such a long time.

So how would you increase your bitcoins?

In my experience the best way to earn from bitcoin is holding them. And you can get some interest on bitcoin itself on some popular platforms or casinos, there could still be some risks so just don't put all of it on one. Exchanging bitcoin to something else to get better interest is not a good idea as you'll miss when the bitcoin prices changes rapidly.
2210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lowest Deposit/Withdrawal Fee Exchange? on: October 22, 2019, 01:31:53 PM
As binance is by far the best exchange with liquidity without a doubt
It has no deposit fee for btc

But withdrawing is 0.0005 btc which is kinda big there

Any other exchange with low Deposit/withdrawal fee that you can suggest?
bitforex, but if there is an exchange that is free of fees surely it will be more interesting. but in my opinion it's not there, because of that fee the exchanger can survive.

A large exchange can offer a fee free withdrawal for some time but that would be covered by the exchanges profit.
I really wonder how can shapeshift has such a low fee as 0.00015 BTC along with low trading fees. I'd recommend shapeshift to anyone going through one to next crypto and is not looking for long quick trades.
2211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Old good airdrops on: October 22, 2019, 01:16:31 PM
But why don't you find those beautiful airdrops once, whose only request was to communicate an address to receive the gift?  Cry

It was the time crypto were on a bubble. People would buy anything and everything called cryptocoin without a second thought. People could just create a token, distribute it freely to people and list them on exchange, people would still buy it with an increasing price. That was the reason why airdrop holders got good money for their holdings and people created new coins like crazy. But things has changed now, its difficult to sell even the ICO of a well planned project. Even if someone provide free tokens, they'll never have any value.
2212  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Anyone Earned Bitcoin On Moon Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2019, 01:54:55 AM
They are the largest paying faucet at the moment. They have three high paying bitcoin faucets, namely moonbitcoin, bonusbitcoin and bitfun.
Moonbitcoin and bitfun are progressive faucet while bonusbitcoin has a 15 minute timer. I have been paid from them twice in the past.
Though I don't faucet anymore, many of my friends are using them as the prime source of faucet income.
2213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO projects with very good rating on: October 21, 2019, 04:28:28 PM
When i search i found ICO projects with very good rating, this rating posted buy ICO rating websites, how this rating works, websites did not mention about the factors use to rate this projects.

Some of them do mention the factors considered during the rating but still most of them are biased ones.
Almost all of the ICO rating sites are found to be taking money from projects to give them a higher rating regardless of their nature and status.
ICO rating sites has created more confusion than solutions for the ever confusing ICO markets.
2214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to avoid fraudulent projects? on: October 21, 2019, 04:10:33 PM
I think there is still a way to overcome the problem of scamers in this crypto room (but I'm not saying to eliminate it completely). . This might not have a big effect but at least it can reduce some of the fraud projects that exist in this industry. . like avoiding and not promoting suspicious projects repeatedly. .
I have always observed that many of them and even have high ratings but still support suspicious projects, especially participants (social media).
maybe this is one reason why many fraud projects are increasingly rampant, because someone always gives hope to them and makes someone trapped in it.

so what do you think?
I draw the conclusion above based on what I saw there.

It's really difficult to be sure about any projects as scammer too have became more and more advance and they present themselves better than most of the legit projects.
The first thing to observe if you want to lower your risk of getting scammed is the team members and verifying they are really involved in the project and has the expertise as advertised. I don't mean to say all projects with anonymous teams are scams but 90% of them are.
2215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO not forced you to hold their token on: October 21, 2019, 12:29:52 PM
I know binance is the most popular exchange, but binance and other exchanges such as okex, huobi, ...and  others forced you to hold their token to participate in IEO, so i list exchanges do not forced you to buy token.
What you think about this exchanges, do you suggest it?
If you do not suggest it, or think it is not good let me know the reason?

lattoken
probit
lbank
p2pb2b
coineal
vindax
exmarket
Finexbox
Sistemkoin

This what i know, you also can add exchange not forced you to buy token not listed here.
Some of this exchanges i use it, and some of it i did not.

IEO on popular exchanges are considered to be a premium offering. The last one month of BNB holding sets the limit of coins you can buy on binance IEO while you need to buy the IEO with KCS on Kucoin. Some exchanges like Probit and Coinex provides bonus tokens/discounts on buying with their exchange tokens. And it's a good strategy to develop the exchange token along with the success of IEO.
I don't think the other IEO offerings are useless but in most cases they (such exchange) don't have enough volume and credibility to implement such (token holding) rule.
2216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC, why do some people just get it, others really don't? on: October 21, 2019, 12:08:39 PM
It also depends on the individual interest of the people. Some people really don't care about learning new things. In my experience the curious people are more friendly towards the blockchain technology.  I have computer engineer friends that know nothing about bitcoin except it's name and friends in other professions like lawyers who are technically sound about blockchain.
And it's about legality for some, people sometimes would not want to do what is defined as illegal in their country.
2217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you always invest in top ranked coins? on: October 21, 2019, 01:44:41 AM
Hi Everyone,

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

I have invested in all sorts of coins. And with my experience, I can say that investing in top ranked coins are safer. Crypto market has been dynamic and holding top ranked popular coins would yield you profit some day. They won't  generally decrease from their current price to worthlessness as most of other new coins go through.
It's harder for whales to move the overall price and there are no artificial pumps and dumps.
2218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Donating the Gambling profits on: October 20, 2019, 04:29:36 PM
Have you ever thought of donating the gambling profits to a charitable cause ?  Sometime people won a big lottery or very high amount of money from betting & gambling games.  Do you ever thought of being generous and helping the poor with this money ?

I have but I never had a gambling profit. Not one while calculating my gambling expenses. The greatness of human lies in giving.
Though not won on gambling, I have a day job as well as attend bounties in the forum. I have a clear stats of my earning and has decided to donate 1% of my total earning yearly to some good cause.
2219  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 9/11 terror attacks on: October 20, 2019, 04:23:42 PM
Last night i saw a lot of documentations about 9/11. I want to know what the public opinion is about the attacks.

Surely there were many pre-alarms ignored by the authorities, mistakes from their side that cost a lot but I don't think there are any other involvement of the US as claimed by some of the conspirator. There were many other ways to create an enemy and many other ways to boost the arms industry without killing their own citizen. I don't see US benefiting much from the incident.
