1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin & altcoins? on: August 15, 2020, 07:40:21 AM
we can guess it is a whale game or it is a pure hike, so I see this is indeed an increase but it is not maximal in any case. So maybe I think it should take a little longer to get to the top to prove that it's not a temporary pump from the whales
It will take a bit more of consistent grow to convince most of people that crypto market is somehow reliable and worth a try.
This is when the actual pump will happen

There was some Defi craze meanwhile. Many Defi coins rose sharply at a much better pace than bitcoin could. While Defi indeed is a good platform for future, it's not sure that all or any of the current Defi coin would be the leader of defi market in the future. It's a risky hype driven rise and the prices are now correcting themselves while bitcoin have has a slow but steady rise towards 12K.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If someone mistakenly sent you 1 ETH, what would you do? on: August 15, 2020, 06:39:23 AM
If it's just a transaction to address, the sender would never know who the receiver are or how to contact them and the receiver also would not know that the transaction has been a mistake. They'll not know me and I'll not know them. The finders are keepers.
But if they really have made a trade with me in past or is know from somewhere specially this forum and got my attention from a post or direct contact, I'd return it to the sender if 1ETH is really important to him/her/it.
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons Why am I adding as many Ethereum bags as possible? on: August 14, 2020, 05:01:38 PM
I just sold every ETH on a average value about 440. It's not that I'm not bullish about the coin, I am, I believe ETH is going to hit 1K within a year but at current rise, Ethereum network is already facing a large congestion and the tx fees have rose so much that it's not worth doing small transfers. This would certainly discourage arbitrage traders and small investors. The price is ought to correct now. I'd buy it again around 360.
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New normal world will make crypto better on: August 14, 2020, 03:22:05 PM
Popular Cryptos are doing better than traditional investment. Whole crypto market is doing improvement during covid pandemic where traditional businesses are suffering a lot. So large companies, banks found crypto as better field of investment and thereby most of the giants have separate arms to handle crypto assets. They are adding cryptos mainly btc, eth, defi into investment portfolio. Good days are coming if we survive through Covid19

Covid is not going to normalize overnight. And while it goes in the phase of normalization, digital transaction would be preferred. Not every nation have a well established digital payment system and there are no easy system on interantional trade. And with the US trade war, the world is going to be divided into two different blocks and crypto would be a useful tool on staying float at this risky market.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap's New Feature "Earn" on: August 14, 2020, 02:08:40 PM
Do they require KYC? If so, I guess they won't get anyone to participate in their learn and earn program or will get very low amount of submission. I have checked the coinbase program long ago but since they require KYC, I gave up. Anyway, good to see the changes there.

KYC is not required with Coinmarketcap new Earn, but, I think the trick is that you need an account on Binance. Of course while passing quiz it is asked to fill any BAND wallet, but the instruction shows how to get it on Binance. When the timer runs out, I feel that only Binance BOND wallets will be filled with BAND tokens. Otherwise what is the point of doing such a giveaway using Coinmarketcap (an instrument that Binance bought few months ago) and using other than Binance wallets.

This who new "earn" is created just to attract more users to Binance.

I was curious and went through it. They are not just promoting band, they are recommending binance as a good wallet. Binance is not a compulsion but a recommendation. You need your registered email on coinmarketcap.
The $10 worth of band are not just for anybody as they stated that some of the lucky winners are going to get it. They make you do some questionnaire of which most are obvious answers while a few are tricky.
1266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian banks freezing bank accounts AGAIN ! on: August 13, 2020, 02:25:46 PM
I don't think bank would just freeze account of their customers on their own without a directive from the government or regulatory bodies. I don't know how it works there but banks always tries to keep their customer with them. They won't be troubling people for just using the banks to buy legal things. One situation maybe the number of fraud calls originating on transactions, but I don't think that would be large among legit crypto traders. Often non crypto networking schemes are also sold as crypto to naive investors around the world.
1267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Green Energy Mining on: August 13, 2020, 11:49:06 AM
Hi everyone! Been trying to research about green mining for an essay. I found two projects that got my attention, one is Moonlite which already successfully finished their ICO and the otherone is Togacoin, who are apparently doing pretty well now.

Suggestions? Please and thanks!

It maybe my experience but most of the mining or power related projects going through ICO or IEO has been a disastrous till date. Much hyped projects like Ice rock mining and hyped, still active but worthless Wepower has made their investors sad.
Mining itself is losing attraction, bitcoin mining would sustain but it won't be profitable for everyone and everywhere and people and projects are moving into POS system.
1268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest cryptocurrency wallets on: August 12, 2020, 01:16:52 PM
The safety depends largely on how you use the wallet. Any form of wallet that has no control to your private keys are safer from third party risks. Paper wallet maybe safe from third parties but keeping the paper safe and keeping privacy during printing and claiming your coins back would have a degree of risks. Similar are the risks with hardware wallets. Online wallets can be safer for a person who uses the coins often as they have multiple verification system but your funds would be at the mercy of third party.

1270  Other / Off-topic / Re: I think I invented a Time Machine? on: August 10, 2020, 04:05:38 PM
Doing a job in 1 hour which usually takes 20 minutes is no time travel. I guess people would sooner or later try your hypothesis and come with clear conclusions.
1271  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China as part of the future world economy. on: August 03, 2020, 04:39:25 PM
China is just following what US and USSR did.
China's current political system has both pros and cons but the world is not going to easily accept it.
China from ancient times was one of the strongest economy. Though they needed to copy most of the western things to thrive, now they are not just copycat's but are a large source on innovation and ideas.
China's policy has always been economy first but US is doing all it can to destroy Chinese economy. The economic cold war is surely going to divide the world into two poles.
As for India, it do have potential to rise as a superpower but it's politics are based on propaganda and lies. For they do come to world stage, they should join hands with China for economical benefits and regional power.
1272  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't buy facemasks for the coronavirus! on: August 03, 2020, 04:19:42 PM
Mask is more about not letting other catch your virus than not to contact virus yourself.
There are many asymptomatic or less severe cases that goes unnoticed but they can infect others.
The relative success in containing the virus in East and South East Asia is mostly credited to the strict implementation of mask on public.
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do we really need stable coin? on: August 02, 2020, 10:42:17 AM
think if we should look back in 4 years back in cryptocurrency industry, crypto do very well to be stable in the price value, but is very difficult this days to see crypto that's actually valueable, not until we started seen stable coins in the crypto market but there's no change in the value, Do you think we need stable coins?

There are many advantages of introduction of stable coins in the crypto market. Stable coin is not only a powerful tool for crypto traders who make profit on price fluctuation but also a system to reduce crypto price volatility. Prices of crypto has been less volatile after the popularity of stable coin. The current price trend is an example of it's action.
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are buying when the price is going up and not when it is down on: August 01, 2020, 11:33:40 AM
There's an old saying "Buy when the market is green and sell when the market is red".
It's arguably one of the better strategy as your money won't remain stale. When you see a bullish trend, you  buy the first moment you can and when you thin it's turning into a bear, you sell. Short term investors earned a good profit in last 1 month as compared to holders that are holding for last 2 years. Different people have different strategy when it comes into trading but the essence is to increase your profit while limiting your loss.
1275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 01, 2020, 10:36:28 AM
This could be true but more childish than these people is the security of twitter. And with the history of Kevin Mitnick, probably he social engineered someone inside twitter to give him away sensitive information about users. And twitter too confirmed that they stored users password in plain text on log files. Glad it was some individuals gaining access to social profile, if organized hacking groups had a similar access, they could have created much more havoc or just could have used them to siphon internal data.
1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: usdt tether market cap grows from 4,6 billions to 10,800 billions from March on: July 30, 2020, 02:57:48 PM
They already said that their USDT is not backed 1:1 by fiat (wording aside, we know what it implies): https://www.coindesk.com/tether-says-its-usdt-stablecoin-may-not-be-backed-by-fiat-alone.

So I guess this pump machine is still continuing. Their banking issues are also popping up every now and then. In short, never store your money in USDT for too long.

Then they are just adding more money by adding more supply of the tokens.
And that's supply that they add can also help to manipulate the price of other crypto currency such as BTC  and other popular crypto currency, its not a good way in my opinion  It could be a bad replacement if they continue to increase supply of it especially because its not really backed by real USD. I see bad effect on it for long term if they continue doing this things.

It would be wiser to avoid Tether till they prove that they hold the fiat equivalent to their token issuance. Till than USDC and Paxos could be similar alternative as both of them are regularly verified with external auditor. In the time of rise in price many people turn into USD equivalent and it would be a disaster if USDT couldn't provide the conversion if every of them withdrew.
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETHER IS BULLYING on: July 29, 2020, 04:15:29 PM
People are too much excited about ETH 2.0 for sure. It could be a good strategy to accumulate ETH at cheaper price and sell them before the new network is live as you can't be sure about the what direction the price would go after the launch. But again many people are already disappointed by no significant rise in price of bitcoin after the halving.

Even on previous bitcoin halving, the price of bitcoin started going steep high after about 6 months and not only did the bitcoin's price rose, it also lifted the price of almost every alts. This time, that trend seems to be repeating, bitcoin is increasing so are most crypto. No one can guarantee a another all time high but we are certainly moving towards larger number.
1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be the best time to invest? on: July 26, 2020, 12:44:38 PM
Prices have increased much more that what they were a month ago. It's not quite sure when we'd actually see a bull run on crypto prices. So, I'd say it would be better to wait some time and see how the prices move, Bitcoin is about to hit 10K and I'd not be buying bitcoin above $8.5K as it's already my average. Etherum too have crossed 300 hurdle and soaring. It could be a good time to make profit from your investment.
1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: July 26, 2020, 11:01:43 AM
Though crypto are generally considered similar things, but they are very much different in their nature and mode of use. It would not be wise to compare a stablecoin, a STO coin, a utility coin and a masternode coin at once. It's quite unrelevant to call a centralized coin a competitor of bitcoin.
As there are no regularities in crypto and their nature, the metrics too would be much different. You can't just call 1st or 2nd for participants from a different race.
1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is going up day by day.. on: July 25, 2020, 06:25:54 PM
......
The price have also break new yearly high, eth is absolute gem for Investment. I am sure it is all set to break $300k barrier some interesting story is about to come in this crypto market, let's wait and watch...
With this current  spike in ethereum price, we're going to see something good which mean price beyond the $300. This year is for mostly ethereum and partly for bitcoin, this latest spike will definitely shoot the price of Bitcoin and ethereum higher than expected. Barriers are been broken as cryptocurrency ready to see another all time high.

The change in the way prices moves is actually shows that the crypto market is maturing. Investors now just don't jump in but analyze every coin they intend to invest in. If you look at the coin's price and their 24  hour change, some coins has achieved good growth while most of the coins haven't moved at all and a small number of coins price are actually decreasing.
