2261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bonuses are only to deceive people on: September 10, 2019, 02:48:30 PM
I just checked an ANN thread. There was a post regarding the last round of the IEO. They were offering 25% discount to IEO participants. I wanted to post on that thread. But instead of posting on that thread, I decided to create a new topic as there are many same IEOs.
Offering bonus on the last round of an ICO/IEO is really funny.
The bonus is valuable only if there are some other participants that sell the tokens at higher prices. I cannot understand bonus on the last round of an IEO. Even if they give 1000% bonus to investors, it doesn't differ. The bonus on the last round must be zero. These kind of IEOs try to deceive participants. It might be true even if we call them scammers.
If a token price is 100 satoshis and they give all participants 25% discount. Investors shouldn't be happy that they have bought the tokens at 75 satoshis. Because the price is 75 satoshis not 100 satoshis.
We can say the price is 100 satoshis if there will be a next round and some people buy the tokens at 100 satoshis.

There are bonuses given in the early stage of ICO so most of the interested people do buy them in the pre-ICO period and the new investors are nearly zero when the prices of token are maximum. In order to not to make the last stage of ICO useless and to attain the desired cap, projects do go with the bonus scheme even in the last stage. It doesn't really make a difference to the economics as the real price of token is the one with the highest bonuses.
2262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Marketing And Religion on: September 10, 2019, 01:01:14 PM
As we know that Gambling is prohibited in certain religions including Islam. If anyone does it, the earned money is not legal and is considered Sin.

But what if someone is promoting a gambling site on social media etc, will the money earned from it be legal provided he will never directly gamble ?

I'm no specialist about the Islam religion but Islam can be easily manipulated to mean a different thing according to the people who lead it.
The ancient text of Islam has greatly described about the alcohol but many believe alcohol is haram by Islam.
Some hardcore Islamist believe music to be a haram.
In real Islam, anything you do with good intent is always a halal. Don't let any other impose over your thoughts.
2263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 09, 2019, 03:52:21 PM
There were not many big names coming in the EPL and Liverpool is the winner of last season. So, they definitely has larger chances of wining league.
All of the matches of Manchester City were with easy teams and they drew with spurs. They are not a real competition unless they have some good January transfers.
2264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use crypto? on: September 09, 2019, 02:58:14 PM
I have in past used crypto for different purposes. I accepted and sent payments in crypto.
I bought domains and hosting with crypto. I topuped my mobile with crypto. But after missing the last bull run, I've largely restricted my crypto for holding and buying another crypto. I haven't cashed them out for quite a time now.
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much money do you currently have, you can buy cryptocurrency at the bottom. on: September 09, 2019, 02:54:46 PM
From the bull market in 2017 to the present, the price of mainstream cryptocurrency has fallen sharply. How much money do you currently have, you can buy cryptocurrencies in the future market. If the bear market will last for a few years. What do you choose to do?

I'm converting 25% of my monthly savings to crypto. And I'm holding all of my bounty rewards. Sooner or later, we'll going to have another bull run and I don't want to miss that this time. You just need to buy some real coins and wait. But I'd still not recommend anyone to go all in in crypto as you might get frustrated waiting.
2266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Cryptocurrencies Will Survive the Next Decade? on: September 08, 2019, 04:09:19 PM
Personally I think only half of the top 20 coins now will survive ! And bitcoin will remain to be the king till eternity ! A lot of them will dissapear and be forgotten ! Everyone is majorly focusing on bitcoin and so will it be !

I'd go with only 10 among the current top 100s.
This was the top 15 list in may 26, 2013

How many of these do you all recognize? The market has became much more dynamic now. And in 10 years, there would be much more advance blockchain that would have no issues currently being faced by the crypto at this time. Though they may have trouble in their own, they'll again be replaced by more modern forms.
2267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis - US Open thread - Predictions on: September 08, 2019, 03:58:34 PM
This is the first grand slam in ages where Djokovic & Federer aren’t going to figure in the latter stages. It makes it exciting & fresh, hopefully Nadal doesn’t win then we will have something new Smiley

Yes, we need some breath of fresh air to see a new champion in their years US Open. The women side has done it, with Bianca Andreescu winning over Serena Williams. So its time for Medvedev to really show his class against Nadal and inject his name in the discussion as the one who will going to replace those ageing tennis greats.

It is no longer any surprise that Serena lost.
She has lost the last 4 big finals in the grand slams and obviously she can no longer psychologically withstand the great pressure that goes with such matches.
Nadal is different and also have more experience than Medvedev.
Medvedev will be under a lot of pressure, like never before in his life.
Not sure if he will be able to overcome it and play good well.

I'd like to differ. Nadal would be an easy opponent for Medvedev. The whole tournament has been in his favor as he didn't needed to face with the players that could really give him a challenge. It's really surprising to see Medvedev getting such a large odds. I'd blindly bet on Medvedev this time.
2268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in XRP? on: September 08, 2019, 02:49:11 PM
I just found an article and here it is,

https://www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2018/03/07/ripple-could-be-the-next-bitcoin/#4dc2e64c5b39

Can anyone confirm it is helpful or is it wise to trade with XRP?

This is a forbes contributor article. i.e. the writer pays forbes to get audience for his voice and the matter expressed in such article are entirely personal of the contributor. Such contributors takes money from businesses to talk about them. Thus, it's a paid promotion.
Now the question comes why is Ripple paying for it's promotion at this moment? There are many red flags going on about Ripple team, https://cointelegraph.com/news/ripple-transfers-500-million-xrp-from-its-escrow-wallet
And this could be the last attempts to move the price so that they'd be able to dump in a good price.
2269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Own Version Of Martingale Your Opinion on: September 07, 2019, 03:52:11 PM
There are a lot of topic about martingale now, and I'm sure many of us employ their own version of Martingale,
This is my own version of Martingale it's actually time-consuming, but I'm not going to make a living in gambling I just want to be entertained and have some fun and I want to extend my enjoyment.

My strategy is I started off with 10 sats I just add or double my bet the next time if I lose so if I lose 5 straight and win on my 6th I started my bet again on the bottom.

My reason is I want to extend my funds so every time I regain my losses I just started my bet to the minimum again
I've done it over and over again and I can extend my funds for 3 to 4 hours sometimes I made money but I never make a withdrawal
I just call it a day and come back tomorrow with additional funds and a possible extension of time having fun.

This is indeed the classic martingale. Your starting amount is actually depended on the amount of coins you have.
For a classic martingale to run, people generally have coins to manage 10 to 20 losses. But as people keep on wining for hours, they feel the starting bet is low and increases it bringing the number of loses you could cover down leading to bust of the strategy.
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How I saved myself on: September 07, 2019, 03:47:42 PM
Just sharing.

In 2018 there was an ICOs hype of enormous proportions. I sat down with a friend of mine who is well invested in BTC to select a number of ICOs to invest in. We went to far extent to short-list companies we will invest in. The idea was: we wanted to know how to buy into an ICO after all the pre-launch marketing hypes and discounts were happening, wee wanted to both: know how to and go though the process of investing, but at the same time he wanted to be sure he is not throwing money away, and that the companies he will invest in are solid.

Those were just the coins I was interested in. But I couldn't save myself as I went to buy some other coin which I believed was sure to succeed. Collected all my funds and spent on it. But it went negative just after I bought it. Similar is my case for many coins. I again reinvested them on several coins. Most of them still negative but bitcoin made some profit for me. Now I've again chose a well know coin (top 10 in CMC) and spent all my holdings to buy it. I hope, I'll have good news to share after few months.
2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Says China Zombie is a serious company with serious goals on: September 07, 2019, 03:43:10 PM
One of the Popular crypto influencer and libertarian U.S. Presidential John McAfee seems to have stuck into another conflict with Zombie coin, and they are now demanding $100 million in compensation.

Read here Source: https://coinpedia.org/news/china-zombie-is-a-serious-company-with-serious-goals-says-john-mcafee/

Any other links to prove it? I'm not a huge fan of John Mcafee either but he has some and coinpedia is a known scam promoting site.
Coinpedia is a fake news site promoting fake news and shilling about scam ICOs. If something is just in Coinpedia and nowhere else, than it surely is fake.
I know John Mcafee would promote for any small fees but I don't think he's as stupid to promote such cheap scams.
2272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Talk about the opportunities we missed in those years? on: September 07, 2019, 03:37:33 PM
The first currency to buy is the TNB. Because it is a novice, I missed many opportunities to get rich. I want to cry without tears. When TNB is $0.015, my friend asked me to buy it. I didn’t buy it. Later, 0.1453 When I entered the market, when I went up to $0.2906, I still didn't sell it. This time I won't miss it again.

I feel like I'm one of the people who missed a lot of opportunities. Bitcoin was just over $200 the time I started transacting it and I never looked it as a thing to hold. I transacted in and out BTC as it was a easier form of inter country payment. It hurts to see my coinbase transaction history.
I also missed the Ripple and Ethereum rise calling them scam. Though I rode the Ethereum train late, I did made some profit from it.
2273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times have you gone against majority on: September 07, 2019, 03:30:32 PM
Sport betting is strange when it wants to be, it never a sure fact the impossibility can turn possible.
When booking a bet many bets on what the majority had placed before hand.
What am I saying betting site releases games for betting and gives an option where you see what others has selected and very often it's the one with the lower odd that  people place bet on.

Last week Saturday was a Turing point for me as I refused to bet with majority(31-8-2019) and placed a draw on the match between osasuna and FC Barcelona. Most people would see it as an unwise decision but that's soccer the foolish thing can turn out to be wise.

How many times have you gone against the crowd and smiled to the bank

I mostly bet between x1.5 and x2.5 and consider anything above x3 a risky bet. I took that risk a few times mostly because it was my favorite team/player or it's my own home nation playing. Impressively, I have won a couple of them. One was a x11 while another was a x5. And on total I'm slightly in loss with that plain strategy.
2274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You think ICO Investing Is Worse Than Online Gambling on: September 07, 2019, 02:23:38 PM
Do You think ICO Investing Is Worse Than Online Gambling? what do you think
On ICO investing you will have to wait for several months like 3 to 10 months before the ICO is finished and you'll wait to 2 to 3 months more to get the coin in the market and there's no guaranty that you will make a profit, majority of the coins coming from ICO are down 50 to 90% and that was over a year of waiting.

on online gambling, if you play your cards right like when you have control on when to stopped and you have built a strategy, you can win over and over again and you can withdraw your gains immediately

Blindly investing in an ICO is surely bad than online gambling. Online gambling is luck and most of them are provably fair. If you have a good amount, you could martingale it for quite a time and have fun winning or losing. ICO on the other hand would be a mundane way to lose your money if you haven't researched well. But a good studied investment would be safer and more rewarding than any form of online gambling.
2275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 06, 2019, 04:14:47 PM
Exactly true. There are more than ten thousand coins tradeable at the moment. 1% of it makes up 100. And even I would not be able to name 100 different coins. With the rate of new coins not decreasing, people will forget most of it and the most of new ones in a decade time.
Only a few of this decade would effectively survive till the next one.
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB bought JEX and airdropping JEX tokens on: September 06, 2019, 02:59:34 PM
This is going to be a long airdrop. 1 year at least and you need to hold at least 10 BNB along the time. It could be difficult for a trader who earns on price fluctuations and I don't think it would be worth the effort if you consider the time.
But if you are into holding BNB than it surely is a bonus for you. BNB is performing well with this news and there soon could be next IEO in launchpad.
2277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis - US Open thread - Predictions on: September 06, 2019, 12:50:57 PM
I really want Dimitrov or Medvedev to win US open this year. It's gets really boring when Nadal,Federer and Jokovic win everything.I can't predict what will happen, because I'm not an expert in tennis, but I would bet on Medvedev.Tall tennis players are the future of tennis(unfortunately).
I'm also rooting for him, I'm not really familiar with him but when he played and beat Wawrinka, I was like,, this player is legit and could be a champ this US open. Wawrinka beat Novak Djokovic which was suppose to be my bet to win this competition, I understand because the guy is playing with some injury so because Wawrinka beat my guy and Medvedev  beat Wawrinka, I'm with him all the way.

In womens US open, I'll support Williams to win, obviously since Osaka is out.

Medvedev have been delivering good performance lately and luck has totally favored him this time. Though we could not underestimate the players like Dimitrov or Nadal, there are no big names in the semi finals this year. Nadal has always struggled in the grass court. Not only we be seeing a new US Open champion, Medvedev could be the next tennis champion and replace the likes of Djokovich and Federer.
2278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China’s Cryptocurrency 'Protects' Legal Currency Yuan on: September 06, 2019, 12:28:40 PM
It has always been more interesting to me to observe the Chinese cryptocurrency than the Facebook coin. I think China will come to world domination in the field of cryptocurrencies. The Chinese economy is very strong and their financial capabilities and goals will lead them to success.

Chinese have a great potential but their society and economy still is a very closed one. The Chinese government would need much more effort and money just to maintain it's power over the population in coming decade.
China has a lot of blockchain developers and experts but they can't work freely in their own country.
Chinese are one of the largest investor for bitcoin and other crypto as they don't trust their government with their money.
2279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Disclamer: this post may seem full of hate on: September 05, 2019, 04:24:31 PM
Another reason here is the limited resources of exchanges. Exchanges are one of the most stressed websites both in traffic and working of the exchange software. If allowed to transact low, there could be millions of requests of insignificant amount that would act as a DDOS for the exchange software raising the activity without any proper profit for the exchange.
2280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology is getting more and more misused by scammers. on: September 05, 2019, 04:00:46 PM
Finally, most projects present blockchain as a pill for every malady. But does it really make sense for that particular industry? Is it possible to implement the same project without a native token? Is blockchain tech a decisive factor in the final product’s infrastructure, or it could work pretty much the same without all those distributed ledgers and smart contracts? Does it really disrupt anything but your patience for the word ‘disruption?’

Blockchain is a huge field and collecting funds for a project using tokens in blockchain is just a small part of it.
There are indeed other ways of collecting funds and making projects happen but blockchain provides an easier and transparent way of collecting and using funds. Though there are numbers of scam, we cannot call the practice bad when multiple of projects have benefited from it. Again there are still many other ways of building a project or collecting funds and they'd always remain. The investors too would always have a choice.
