2281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Company adopts Bitcoin as treasury reserve assets on: October 24, 2020, 02:18:08 AM
It's become a growing trend. They are finally starting to recognize it's potential instead of trying to fight it and downplaying it for so many years. It has proven to be superior to gold which is difficult to transact with and the US dollar which decreases it's value over time. It's been the 'blockchain not bitcoin' people who have ended up on the wrong side of history.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really use alts for the purpose they're supposedly created for? on: October 24, 2020, 01:06:25 AM
I've used Litecoin for cheaper transactions before, but Dogecoin is just as useful for this. Mainly I just use altcoins for gambling. I prefer them over Bitcoin because they are worth less so it minimizes my losses if I have a bad streak.

I used ETH a few times in the ICO days for investing in new ERC-20 coins and did a bit of trading on ForkDelta. Eventually, I converted everything to BTC and haven't touched it since aside from a few tips I've received at casinos.
2283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi benefiting Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2020, 12:19:54 AM
The DeFi bubble has significantly deflated. It was only a matter of time given the ridiculously high yield percentages which were unsustainable. It is likely that a lot of this value leaving DeFi has flowed into Bitcoin which is something which has real use cases besides ponzi pump and dumps.
2284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling could be used to pay for covid problems on: October 23, 2020, 09:28:35 PM
This seems unnecessary. Unless a casino business is based in your jurisdiction you don't need to try and take money away from them that they earned. Imposing even more regulations on them could negatively impact casinos and gamblers and push people towards more private, unregulated options that don't require KYC. At least some countries are loosening their restrictions on online gambling like Germany and Latvia so all hope is not lost.
2285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just a Question... on: October 23, 2020, 08:29:11 PM
I have seen a few casinos with Telegram channels, like Betnomi. It is great for basic support purposes. Discord seems to be the preferred platform because it's multi-platform. You can use it as a desktop app, on mobile devices and in your web browser. Telegram can be used on desktop but I would estimate that over 90% of their users are on mobile devices only.
2286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin co-exist with the current financial system on: October 23, 2020, 12:06:24 AM
It is unrealistic to expect Bitcoin to replace the current system so it will probably exist as an alternate system. As Bitcoin continues to improve and is more efficient and private to use I think it'll start to gain a bigger market share because people don't want to be burdened with regulations.

The only problem why I don't think Bitcoin will be widely in the future is because there's a lot of new and existing crypto that has a better feature than Bitcoin. No one can assure the value of BTC because there is no valuable things such as Gold or USDT backed its existence. Only speculation on the price is what keeps BTC grows overtime.

Altcoins with "better features" like cheaper fees and faster transactions have made some sacrifices to achieve those features. Every single altcoin is significantly less decentralized than BTC, transactions can be censored more easily, and they are also less secure. If altcoin devs have the power to bail out their wealthy friends then they are no better than the legacy system.
2287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz - Oct 31 on: October 22, 2020, 08:33:50 PM
I was looking at some video of Davis' media workout and he is wearing a sauna suit. It makes me wonder if he is having problems making weight. We have seen him blow up in weight in between fights before and he is not known as the most disciplined person. He might need to bring in a nutritionist which is what Teofimo Lopez did last year when he was having trouble staying at 135 and it seems to have worked out for him.
2288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ]: Boxing - Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: October 22, 2020, 07:54:28 PM
Pulev does have some questionable behavior. On fight night none of that will matter. Joshua should have no problem defeating him. He doesn't doesn't absorb punches as well as Andy Ruiz so I don't see him able to withstand enough punishment to be in the fight for very long. When Ruiz pulled off the upset he was able to take some vicious shots and was able to recover from being knocked down. Pulev got busted up against a journeyman in his last fight so I can only imagine how much more badly AJ will be able to hurt him. Finally we can then move on to the undisputed battle between Joshua and Fury, after years of failed negotiations between Joshua and Wilder. With Wilder out of the picture for now it should be much easier to negotiate since Matchroom and Top Rank work together all the time.
2289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a high roller? on: October 22, 2020, 06:33:06 PM
I'm not sure what could be the bankroll or how much is your bet to be called as a high roller, for me my bank roll is around $500-$800 per deposit and my bet is around $50-150 per match (Sports betting) some people may think this is average but some people think this is high we have different perspective.

I would consider this a high roller. I try to stay as close to the minimum bet amount as I can, so I only bet in single and low double digit dollar amounts

Once I was a high roller, and used to spend upto 0.1 btc per roll. Most of the time maximum roll value happens with martingale strategy. I encountered a massive loss out of gambling and the same has made me go low on rolls. Right now the maximum bet value doesn't exceed $10.

Today read about a person winning from chips.gg having a bet value of $400, and a misclick getting him a winning amount of $19800 on Dice. Maybe some day I need to be such a high roller with high percentage of luck.
Really unbelievable, just simply misclicking on the under/over button can lead to a divine win. Some people really are born lucky, I should have work for 8 months to get such a salary. I know it is not a fair comparison, but it hurts somewhere inside me and I can feel something has been broken after checking the details of random win. In all cases, good luck to the winner and to all gamblers here!

It is usually the opposite for me. Whenever I misclicked it always got me wiped out. On YOLOdice I lost all my ETH because I thought I was gambling with Dogecoin. On FreeBitco.in I have lost some BTC because I accidentally had jackpots turned on and it costs extra if you want to play for jackpots. There's also been times where I've been off by a decimal place and wagered 10x more than I meant to.
2290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin broke $13k today on: October 22, 2020, 05:39:45 PM
I feel like it will continue going higher. There are too many positive stories right now. Companies are beginning to adopt it as a reserve currency. Some of it's detractors are now some of it's biggest cheerleaders. PayPal and Venmo are integrating it into their service. Schnorr and Taproot, which we've been looking forward too for a few years, has been merged into Bitcoin Core. Due to supply and demand I wouldn't be surprised if we reached a new all time high in the next few months.
2291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: October 22, 2020, 06:44:53 AM

You can not believe in poll results if you don't know about their data collection methodology and how representative for all population in USA the polls can have. About 10 days and the Election day and few hours or days later can help us to know the quality and correctness of those polls that are used by newspapers.

Despite of debates with election results from Biden or Trump, the early result after Election day and give us better view on the news, polls, and the choices of USA. citizens.

We have historical data to compare them to. You can't just discount polls because you don't like them. Of course they can't be 100% accurate especially in a country of over 300 million people with a diverse population. What we have seen in recent years elections is that the more data we have, the more accurate the polls have been at predicting the outcome of elections. Statistician Nate Silver gained notoriety for accurately predicting how 49 of 50 states would vote in 2008 and in 2012 he was 100% accurate. His blog FiveThiryEight has also had a very high accuracy rate at predicting Senate and House races.

There is always a tiny possibility that Trump can pull out a victory by winning a bunch of swing states by less then 1 percent as long as he has a non-zero chance, like he did in 2016. Barring something strange happening, like the Commey letter in 2016, I believe the election will play out the way the polls are predicting.
2292  Other / Meta / Re: September/October signature campaign season? on: October 22, 2020, 02:47:15 AM
I've only just this week joined my first signature campaign. I would've joined one much sooner but there was hardly any opportunities for Member level accounts to join anything. I see this as an overall positive because now I don't have to look for scammy shitcoin bounties and it might encourage bounty hunters to level up since the requirements to reach Member are not that difficult and the incentives are better.
2293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a high roller? on: October 22, 2020, 01:44:10 AM
I always prefer the penny slots. In whatever game I'm playing I only wager small amounts, just enough so that I won't be ruined if I go on a really bad losing streak. I have yet to win a major jackpot at a casino, but I've developed a good enough strategy that brings me a small steady profit that adds up over time.
2294  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I got scammed...can these guys help (or just another scam) on: October 21, 2020, 11:50:40 PM
There is nothing that can be done and anyone claiming they can help you is also a scammer. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible once they have confirmation on the blockchain. A lot of newbies learn this the hard way.
2295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does CoinJoin actually break the link in your transaction history? on: October 21, 2020, 10:04:51 PM
It does as long as most people you mixed with don't do anything to compromise the privacy you have gained. A lot of the coins involved in the PlusToken scam were able to be tracked. They thought that simply running their coins through Wasabi would be enough so they forked the wallet to allow them to keep reusing the same addresses and did some other dumb things to break their own privacy.
2296  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: October 21, 2020, 09:13:42 PM
This is good news for the whole crypto community. However, I have a few questions in mind.
1. Has PayPal demanded more verification than before? If I am not wrong, before this, There was no need for KYC.
2. Is there any buying/selling limit? to convert from $ to BTC.

I am asking this question because I cannot use it by myself. Because paypal's service is not available in my country.

You have to do KYC to buy Bitcoin. Without verification you are very limited with what is available. The only thing you can really do is send money from a credit or debit card.
2297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: October 21, 2020, 08:42:16 PM
Wilder's apparently taken a vow of silence. He has not been heard of in a long time. Fury and his promoters say they no longer have any obligation to have the trilogy fight and are now looking for a new opponent to prepare for him for facing Anthony Joshua next year. I don't think Wilder's team will put up a legal fight to try and force the rematch to happen next. Wilder is still a top 3 heavyweight so his chance will come up again.
2298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: October 21, 2020, 05:46:11 PM
Trump has no chance of winning the popular vote. It's all going to come down to a few swing states and right now Biden is ahead in the polls in all of them except Ohio, Georgia and Texas. In Ohio it's a tie and in Georgia, Trump is only favored by 0.2%. Texas is likely to go for Trump where he is leading by 3 points.

All of the stuff about China and Russia is irrelevant to voters. The media likes to make a big deal about Russia and now they're also trying to make China into the boogeyman but Americans really only care about domestic issues.

Also, why are the Democrats very insistent that Russia is the enemy and not China? I speculate China will unofficially rule all over the world if the winner is Biden.

Russia used to be the Republicans favorite punching bag but now it seems they have fallen in love with Putin because he tried to help Trump win.
2299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Kell Brook vs Terence Crawford November 14 on: October 21, 2020, 02:33:28 AM
Crawford looked vulnerable early on in his last fight against Mean Machine. He might be starting to show his age or it could have been an off night. Kell Brook is seemingly an easy opponent because he was never really the same after getting his eye socket broken in back to back fights. Like Loma, Crawford is also a slow starter so Brook has to take advantage of this early in the bout. With his experience he might fare better luck than Mean Machine and Benavidez and be the one to pull off the upset if he puts enough rounds in the bank.
2300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google news is spreading FUD on: October 21, 2020, 12:21:04 AM
Google isn't a news provider. They just aggregate stories from sources they think you'd be interested in. They don't do a very good job, though. My feed is full of defi and ethereum stories; stuff I don't really care about. If you give the story a thumbs down it might improve your feed somewhat.
