Exchanges make people look into a coin who had never done so before. I wouldn't be surprised if it quickly reached above Quark prices when it hits an exchange. Per coin maybe, market cap is dreamworld. |

When the west follows suit it will be much harder to go on. Crypto is not ready for the coming storm. Time to start preparations. A p2p exchange sounds rather difficult to implement to a standard people would trust it, i guess it will take some time. The exchanges are probably more important for alts than for BTC right now. Well it's not going to happen in Germany or Switzerland. I don't know which countries have already made legislations, but there are a few. Bitcoin will not be banned, maybe in America, but not everywhere. |

The market cap is only a few billion. Bitcoin can and will rise without them, google seems to be going ok..

$8.5 billion is the market cap at the moment. It sucks that China are messing around stopping banks from investing in them and 3rd party exchanges etc, but does Bitcoin really need China to maintain the market cap.?
$8.5 billion is peanuts, and the price rise and increased press has only increased the number of places where people can buy and use Bitcoins. Finland has it's first bitcoin ATM, in the UK people will be able to buy Bitcoins at almost every corner shop, Switzerland want to classify it as a foreign currency, Germany already have. Cyprus have the first Bitcoin bank opening in a months time...
As a guide, the 100th biggest company in the world has a market cap of $70 billion, LinkedIn has a $25.5 billion market cap! Bitcoin has so much room to grow that it is unreal.
I think if China wants out of the Bitcoin market, then fine. Bitcoin has a bright future with or without them. I see $2000 next year no problems.

Yeah I kind of agree with the above 2 posts. If you have such big plans coming in the very near future, why not sort out the foundations beforehand?
The client needs to sync without making a new spots.conf file, otherwise your average Joe won't ever use it.
Not sure why you "accidently" jumped the gun by amending your first post before actually updating the client. And if the Tmotta invested, pay him! It doesn't look good when a coins Dev has negative feedback.

Wouldn't surprise me either but with China's dominance in the market in the past month and the hope it instilled in Bitcoin believers and investors I think this will be a sizable setback in the progression and acceptance of Bitcoin.
It is weird that they have harped on about getting over the $ dominance, but as soon as they see a tool to do that, they start banning it (ironically before the USA does.) |

Doge doesn't have a 100 billion market cap and BTC doesn't have a market cap of 32 million well. maybe he meant doge marketcap 100 billion DOGE and Bbitcoin marketcap 21 million BTC which is correct. in dollars it is different. Possible, he still be wrong with Bitcoin being 32 million, but if we're giving the benefit of the doubt maybe he was sitting too far right when he typed! |
