Yes, that's why I said I let it go, but you made a case out of it.

Can you calm down BadBear and give us all an example?

I am calm, not sure what you're asking for, unless you just didn't read the thread.

Yeah, I read it and my first impression is you have some things to settle with this guy, meh whatever, is only my opinion

I dunno, I guess  Huh.

I see. Anyways, I'm done with this thread. I'm not of this much importance.

I agree, just wanted to get your lies and deceit about your post editing on the record.

Wow, didn't think you'd edit posts and outright lie. That's a shame. Contrary to what you think I don't dislike you, you do bring about good discussion on your good days and are mostly harmless. Didn't think you'd stoop so low though.

Anyway you haven't done it since so my job is done. Wink
I assure you that no deceit is intended here but I could be wrong in one way or another.

It's been a pleasure.

You need to calm down, Atlas.  I saw you edit out the giant middle finger directed to Bad Bear and edit out calling him an asshole and trying to lock the thread because you don't like where it's going.
Smiley

At the very least, if Atlas is going to be a part of these forums again, we should consider a "Scammer" label over his theft of CPU cycles for Bitcoin mining on webpages via Javascript, or a formal "Troll" tag.

I'm stunned that Atlas was allowed back considering his long history of drama.

He's back one day and already his posts are getting archived.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108663.0

I mean come on. The last thing this community needs is more crazy people and trolls.

EDIT: And as if to prove my point right on cue.

I'm so scared, BadBear.
Anyways, you define trolling as anything you don't like. I don't like your attitude, Mr. Troll. You treat me like trash and I won't stand under it.
Don't expect any respect from me. I've been patient with you in the past. I won't be any longer.

It's scheiße like this why he should not be allowed back.

+1

And I don't want respect, I just want you to stop trolling and being disruptive. And yes I consider image macros and ad homs trolling.
2348  Other / Meta / Re: Atlas and a public plea on: September 12, 2012, 05:15:20 AM
Atlas, the way you immediately went back to trolling yesterday with image macros and ad homs when I said something you didn't like doesn't bode well for your future here. Your only saving grace was you moderated yourself, so I let it go. I probably won't next time.

If you think he deserves a scammer tag, make a thread in Scammer Accusations, lay out all the relevant information neatly and describe how he defrauded people assuming the readers know nothing about this. Would be good to show that he did it knowingly or that he was told/warned of the consequences. Whether he's a mod or not doesn't matter.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread so I don't have an opinion yet.
2350  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer - HashKing on: September 11, 2012, 05:47:07 PM
I think that says it all, he responds within 30 seconds to troll Micon but can't even answer my simple question.
2351  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer - HashKing on: September 11, 2012, 05:37:26 PM
Hashking is a scammer +1

Micon is a horrible poker player +1.

Why don't you answer my question instead of trolling? It certainly isn't helping your case.

The 50% insured was for my 3.3% weekly program.  I had very few signup for that.  The 6.91% program was direct Pirate exposure.  Anything less then the 3.3% was insured and that is what I'm working on paying off.

Were the lower tier deposits with Pirate as well?

Didn't see that, thanks. So a summary.

For the PPT deposits,  the insurance was promised to be held in a separate fund on an ongoing basis, with everyone to receive 50% of their funds in the event of a pirate default. He now claims to not be able to do so.

His other deposits were guaranteed and fully insured, with withdrawal requests fulfilled within 24 hours, which he now cannot do. It could reasonably be assumed they weren't put with Pirate since he was running a separate PPT. I don't see any reason for him to not have a scammer tag until he fulfills all principal payments in the lower tier brackets, and 50% of the PPT deposits.

Getting very frustrated at admins not doing anything about posts in this forum.

This isn't a trading forum. Not their job.

+1, nobody is getting paid for this. If you want investigations expedited you should pay for the services, just like any other.
2355  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer - HashKing on: September 11, 2012, 04:37:08 PM
Did hashking ever specifically say the lower interest rate accounts weren't exposed to Pirate? He said they were used for other borrowers, which could include Pirate. I did see it was asked a couple times in his thread but he never answered, not publicly anyway, that I can see.
I haven't dig thru his entire thread, but what about the part where he said INSURED and withdraw within 24 hrs?
HK clearly didn't live up to that.

I agree, but more evidence of deceit never hurt. Would certainly expedite things. The insurance is iffy, because the terms of insurance were never clearly stated, if it was backed by mining then it's natural it will take a while, if people weren't happy with that they should have pushed for more clear terms/timeline of repayment of insured funds.
2356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did pirate hurt the bitcoin economy? on: September 11, 2012, 04:15:42 PM
His ponzi hurt the economy more while it was still running than anything since. His 7% a week outclassed anything legitimate people could do and caused them to be ignored by investors.
2357  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHKING [AND SOON TO BE OTHERS] FAIL LOL! on: September 11, 2012, 04:12:21 PM
Can't wait for when the price jumps again and the new timeline is 6 years, 10 years, 15 years...

Point taken and thanks for the advice.  I will continue to seek out those interested in community/peer-to-peer driven solutions to this problem and either ignore or argue against those who wish to resort to state backed coercive tactics.

Nice, we could use more sane anarchists here. Welcome to the forums  Wink.
2359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Response on: September 11, 2012, 04:08:05 PM
Yeah his response to me a little over 12 hours before this thread was posted was:

What a fucking clown. Good job dicking over pirate debt holders even more by allowing them to "hedge" with a fraudulent bet you never intended to pay. Good job on teaching those guys a lesson  Roll Eyes.

Oh come now. Theymos allows ponzi schemes on the forum, then gets miffed when people don't read the bet their agreeing to in my thread? The double standard is twice as hilarious as the "scammer" tag. I'll wear it with pride. Remember, remember, the 9th of September. (And to everyone who dared to say that people were "stupid" and "ruining bitcoin" by investing into Pirate, you may now eat your socks for complaining about losing this bet)

I believe this one is a more accurate portrayal of how Matthew feels about the situation, not this half assed apology.
2360  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So when are we going to look into really finding Pirate? on: September 11, 2012, 03:32:53 PM
What do you mean by "finding pirate".  His real life identity was known long before he defaulted as were the identities of some of his real life business associates and his family.  We even know when he's next due in court in relation to other matters.

What is needed now is for people who've lost funds to actually go ahead and file complaints with the various agencies responsible for investigating investment fraud, cyber-crime, etc.  The more people who do that, the better.  As such frauds go, this is not a big one, so a large volume of formal complaints is highly desirable.

That's what I'm really wondering...  First, if his identity isn't know, can we not at least get a log from the forum admin with all the IP addresses he logged in with and go from there?  Second, if his identity is known, can we not get a complaint form together for BTCST customers to fill out so that a formal complaint or class action lawsuit may be filed?

"formal complaint or class action lawsuit"

What you are asking is that a group of crypto-anarchists should get together and seek legal redress from a central authority. Do you not understand how silly that request sounds and how it goes entirely against the fiber of this community?

So far the only consensus reached on punishment for Pirate has been to assign him a "Scammer" tag. If you believe additional punishment is needed from the community, then by all means outline what you intend. I am not interested in hearing about attempts at punishment than involve state actors. In my opinion it should be entirely community/consensus driven and peer-to-peer, just like Bitcoin itself.

If you don't like it, feel free to not participate. As an anarchist you should appreciate that others have the freedom to seek other forms of action if they feel it necessary, and they should also be able to discuss without you talking down on them or saying you aren't interested in hearing about it. If you don't want to hear about it, then close the thread and go start your own.
