2341  Economy / Economics / Re: [Manipulation 101] Market cap (to all who love repeating it these days) on: March 28, 2017, 09:53:17 AM
nobody listens man!
they only see numbers without seeing the meaning behind them. they just look at a > b and how b is growing. they don't understand why b is growing and apparently don't want to understand it either.

and you are right this is how Ethereum pumps every time and now that the trick is out i am expecting lots of other altcoins to pull the same manipulation.
2342  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: March 28, 2017, 09:47:39 AM
In reality altcoins are not offering you much, altcoin developers can only promise that their coins will be used on daily basis.
That adoption will be great and coins will be used by merchant and services. But where you can use your Dash or Monero beside black markets?
Real usage of altcoins is almost non existent -  they are speculative asset and nothing more.

Couldn't have said it better. People however don't look at things from that point as they just see what they want to see (cherry picking). People think that the more features altcoins have, the more their beneficial/usability aspect is compared to Bitcoin. But the far majority of the features that altcoins offer are nothing more than gimmicks. They are meant to trap in people that will end up holding a bag of insanely overpriced coins that enjoy no real world usage. Like seriously, who buys Dash at +$100 (now it's closer to $80), and Ethereum at $50, and still think they are a fantastic investment? Huh

based on what i have seen the reason why this is happening is because market is full of "trader wannabes". if you look around when someone asks how to make profit they suggest trading, and then when you look around more you see them call trading as gambling.
this only tells you that these people are "gullible". you tell them ETH or Dash is going to replace bitcoin and they rush to buy them to become rich when supposedly their prices reached $2000 but they face the reality soon enough and have to sell with a big loss and come back to bitcoin and start licking their wounds.
2343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wobbles as traders turn to other cryptocurrencies amid uncertain future on: March 28, 2017, 09:41:21 AM
"wobble" seriously this the word you chose Cheesy

and what is up with all the market cap talk. there is only bitcoin with "real" market that has real volume based on real demand. the rest of them are pump coins which have 1000BTC volume today and in a week or so they are back to 0.01BTC daily volume. do you seriously think that market cap is that thing to look at when price and volume of altcoins are like this!
2344  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC vs. BU be decided? on: March 27, 2017, 11:54:21 AM
if i wasn't 100% sure before that there will be NO FORK, i am 100% sure now.
i just read this myself on the wall observer topic so i am going to share it here also.

https://twitter.com/f2pool_wangchun/status/846266755391512577

with this we are sure that F2Pool which is one of the biggest mining pools out there, is not going to support BU and without them and many other miners who are not with them, we can safely add BU to Classic and XT and Unlimited,...

and as far as price is concerned we can expect $1200 pretty soon.
2345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to dump ETH? on: March 27, 2017, 11:37:57 AM
Hell no please those holders keep pumping eth till make trough 70$ per eth i thought it will continue rising the price bcoz the price of bitcoin is decreasing but it stop bitcoin now is rising againthis why they dumping eth ghad.

dude everyone is only looking for profit and when you pump a coin from nearly $10 to nearly $50 then you should learn to take that as your Que to get out. if you want profit then buy at $10 and dump at $50 then move to the next coin that is being pumped for example from $0.5 to $1 and take that 100% profit instead of waiting around, risking on ETH so maybe they pump it or not.

this waiting will make you lose money.
2346  Economy / Economics / Re: Question that has been a million times here on: March 27, 2017, 11:32:30 AM
i can only tell you one thing: don't try to follow others and do what they do. try to do what you feel is right based on where you live, the opportunities around you and the skills you have.

for example there are a lot of people making money from youtube. for example you can google "Pewdiepie" and see for yourself. but that doesn't mean anybody else who does the same can make the same money they do. you have to also like doing it and have some abilities to do that same thing. if you copy others it will be artificial/fake and you will fail and end up wasting your time.
2347  Economy / Speculation / Re: price went up, opportunity to buy cheap is now lost on: March 27, 2017, 11:26:51 AM
Any price below $1.2k is still cheap...

if you are looking at the long term then even prices higher than $1.2K is still cheap. there was a day when people were saying the same thing about $500 and i told them $500+ is cheap and now here we are and in another year i will repeat the same comment but about another number. Roll Eyes
2348  Other / Archival / Re: Which one is more risky? Skill-based gambling or trading? on: March 26, 2017, 09:47:15 AM
i am going to vote for "skill-based gambling" because i do believe that at the end of the day with all things said and done you are still going to lose all the money in gambling and it doesn't matter what you do.

lets say you are good at both things (skill based gambling and trading) and both have risks, we all know that. but if you speculate the market wrong and price moves in other direction, you can still get out with a small loss. but in gambling if you "guess" the next move wrong you are out 100%.
2349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin unlimited died on: March 26, 2017, 09:31:57 AM
if BU died these will happen surely:
- the FUD will be removed, so price will bounce back up because of FOMO
- bitcointalk will be clear of 50 new topics everyday about the subject
- we will be back where we started! 30ish% SegWit and waiting.
- altcoin pumps will finally be over and they go back to being dead shitcoins

however $2000 price is not gonna happen Smiley
because BU dying doesn't magically create new demand for bitcoin. the issue right now is only FUD and panic that is causing the drop and prevention of rise.
2350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much higher will Ether go and what will it sink back to? on: March 26, 2017, 09:21:20 AM
With uncertainty about the coming Bitcoin Fork,
everything is perfectly clear about fork and there is no uncertainty apart from FUD.
!!!there is no fork!!!

I think Ether's rise will last until everything is sorted out.
why do you think that? as i said there was only FUD about bitcoin and nothing more.
and even if there were something wrong with bitcoin, people will never choose ethereum as a replacement.

But the question is: how high will it go, and where will it settle back down to afterwords?
I'm thinking it may rise to around $75, and sink back down to a steady  $20.
Thoughts?
the possibility of another rise for ethereum is really low. there has been enough rise.

you should know that any coin out there has a limit on how much it can be pumped. you can not pump them forever. and ethereum has been getting pumped for a long time and for a lot that there is not much room left.

if i had to guess i would say there is only down to go for ethereum at this point although there may be some small rises and then some dead cat bounces. and price will go down to $7-$10 like it always does.
2351  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: March 26, 2017, 09:14:49 AM
Yeah its recovering but seems that it needs some time to get going and the price is actually getting low also and then high so I am not sure if that's recovery or a slow downfal.
Because of some news like hard fork the Bitcoin price fall but this is still high.
Now Bitcoin price moving slowly but we didn't sure if Bitcoin price will goes up again in 1200$ point.

No one really knows on if it would recover or not but you are right its still high price to consider comparing on the previous years price which i can say we are still on the good side or price of bitcoin and nothing should too worry too much because it will gradually recover up its price for now the thing we should do is wait and dont panic sell.
Thus, in my opinion now is the best moment to buy more Bitcoin then we hold it. I guess the price
of Bitcoin will be recovered in a few days/month later. I believe that. But you are right, don't be panic sell.
Because it will make the price of the bitcoin will be down again.

there are only two ways of investing in my opinion and i am only mostly talking about bitcoin:
1) you day trade to make more money, or bitcoin whichever you choose and in that case you sell on top and whenever you speculate a drop such as the FUD about split and then buy back at the bottom and rinse and repeat the process every day
in this case the drops and rises matter

2) you go long. in which case you buy at current price, preferably in a dip and hodl. no matter what happens in short term. and you do it only if you believe in bitcoin in the long term.
in this case, price going down doesn't matter at all since you are always in profit.
2352  Economy / Speculation / Re: How can you say that the price is Tanking when we're.... on: March 26, 2017, 09:07:07 AM
because people want an "always rising price" and that simply is not possible. traders will cash out and get in and repeat to make profit and the rise happens over time when adoption grows and demand goes up.

and since they want something impossible they become surprised when price doesn't change according to their dreams and that finally leads to panic sells and then regrets.
2353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 REASONS WHY RIPPLE (XRP) IS THE BEST INVESTMENT IN THE MARKET RIGHT NOW!! on: March 25, 2017, 10:46:38 AM
i don't need 3 reason to know Ripple has been a good investment! and to be totally honest i didn't read your wall of text all the way through Smiley
the only reasons i need are the following:
1. the volume has been high and orderbooks big enough for me to make profit with large amount.
2. the price has been small and small means lower than 1000 satoshi and going up from there is always easy and rise means a HUGE profit.
- not to mention XRP gets pumped every now and then from below 1000 to above it.
2354  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not Die Untill Bitcoin will reach at Least 50K on: March 25, 2017, 10:25:38 AM
I have been trading for a long time (mining before).
As prediction BTC falled, just keep selling high buying low.

it is easier said than done.

i always suggest those who aren't experts in trading to stay away from the market unless they want to buy and hold long term.

because at times like this buying low can mean price going lower and selling high can mean price going higher and in both cases you can lose a considerable amount of money because you acted too fast.

this is actually the only time that i will admit trading is like gambling.
2355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for any altcoin to grow bigger than Bitcoin? on: March 25, 2017, 10:16:01 AM
for ethereum no way.
for other existing altcoins: possibility is very low.
for a new altcoin in the future: it can if it really is good and was created with some usefull innovation in mind not just be made to make money out of pump and dumps.

and altcoins that currently exist, specially ethereum, are like that. they are made with terrible code, lots of bugs, they have a huge premine, a lot of ICO scam and lots of other kinds of manipulation (the list goes on) and their main purpose is to get pump and dumped and the manipulators make money.

coins like this can never grow big enough to even get close to bitcoin let alone be bigger than it.

There are lots of promising projects out there...

if you look deep enough at the "promise" not the "words" the dev and pumping team says you can see that the "promise is an illusion".
2356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Opportunity is here?? on: March 25, 2017, 10:12:16 AM
an opportunity to trade: absolutely. if you are a trader be 100% sure that it is a good opportunity to trade bitcoin and make a lot of money because of the volatility. this doesn't mean it is going to be easy though.

an opportunity to buy/sell: this is becoming tricky, if you want to invest or if you were trying to sell on top and buy at the bottom once then i am afraid it is not easy to do. as a day trader you can find ups and downs and make profit from them but to find a top and sell to buy back at bottom is hard right now because it has already gone down and the resistance for going lower is getting bigger and bigger with traders competing with each other to set buy orders.
2357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the time to buy? on: March 25, 2017, 10:06:28 AM
I want to buy bitcoin. Is this the right time to purchase or wait to go down the price

Thanks folks

i don't mean to disappoint you but if you have to ask this question then i think it is best if you don't buy until you can come up with the answer yourself.
because someone who doesn't know if right now is a good time to buy or not doesn't know the first thing about bitcoin and the potential it has, and also you seemingly don't know what FUD is and why it has caused this dip.
2358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Dominance Reducing on: March 25, 2017, 09:59:51 AM
Its very sad to say that bitcoin's price is still declining and its dominance has reduced to 68% of the entire market capitalization value.Lets hope for the best.

you are looking at the wrong place. the market cap is not saying the real thing about cryptocurrencies.
first of all altcoins are being pumped right now and that means their price are going up artificially, also that means there is a lot of money flying in their direction.

in the end some fake coins such as ethereum have a fake coin supply of 90 million coins currently available. you can think of marketcap like this: if bitcoin had 90 million coins available like ETH instead of having 16.5 then you wouldn't even be able to say the percentage of bitcoin market share because it would have been 99%
2359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers claim to have hacked apple and demanded 75k$ ransom in btc or eth on: March 23, 2017, 10:46:38 AM
when hackers demand a cryptocurrency as ransom they do it because they want anonymity that a cryptocurrency provides.

they choose bitcoin because it is THE cryptocurrency to go to, and they can actually sell it anywhere they want. even off the market and face to face by giving up the private keys, not even on chain.

and none of the above is possible with altcoins, specially the offline selling because nobody in his right mind accepts a super highly volatile altcoin that nobody buys.

the only reason that anyone might even consider an altcoin as this criminal purpose is if they offer anonymity and Monero does not and surely Ethereum doesn't.

to me, this looks like an advertisement for Ethereum by Ethereum foundation just to become the headlines of some news sites.
cheap trick guys, cheap trick!
2360  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: March 23, 2017, 10:40:53 AM
Bitcoin for me still the best of course., when it comes to features it was really a reward for me while I'm using it. while Gold is a piece of metal that can't be use as payment in online. That's there differences Smiley

This thread is about keeping your bitcoin/gold for ten years.

You can store gold for a long time without worrying too much about the price, plus gold is one of
the best way to store and save your money.

Bitcoin needs to be used constantly because of its volatility and you can use that volatility to your advantage
and make the full use of it to earn profit.

I agree with you, Gold is the number one method to hold onto money and having something to talk about later in life without much worries.
Bitcoin isn't that safe to invest in because of the really extreme volatile price movements -the price of the coin could reach zero in a matter of seconds if the right person decides on dumping his/hers coins on Bitcoin Exchanges.

I would suggest Bitcoin as an investment if you want to make fast money.
Gold is better if you want to have money in the long-run.

bitcoin price is not a Sci Fi movie to be dumped to zero if the boss dumps Cheesy

you are assuming that "the right person" owns 16 million coins and the rest of us have access to the rest of remainder of coins and you are again assuming nobody is willing to buy bitcoin and the rest of the world have something like $10 in their budget to buy bitcoin!

when in fact each time your imaginary "right person" dumps there are 100 others who will buy his coins from him at a discount.
