1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is King.. why is it?! on: December 21, 2017, 09:28:00 AM
the real question is which altcoin do you think is better than bitcoin!

because in order for bitcoin not to continue to be king, there should be an altcoin capable of competing with it.
so show me an altcoin that is processing more than 300,000 transactions per day and is still working fine.
an altcoin that has been under attacks of many types including but not limited to spam attacks against its network.

show me an altcoin that is doing all that and still is decentralized.
1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: United Bitcoin Hardfork December 12th on: December 19, 2017, 10:44:19 AM
I am still confused by the existence of hard fork on bitcoin. I am still looking for information on this subject. maybe hardfork has a lot of impact on bitcoin.

hard fork has a big impact on bitcoin but not these "forks". they are very different from traditional forks that bitcoin used to have. those forks (that have an actual impact) are performed to change something in bitcoin and they are done on bitcoin itself. like Segregated Witness fork, or the fork to enable P2SH feature (both soft forks).

these new "things" which they are calling forks are trash! they are creating an altcoin with sole purpose of getting rich. they either premine it or do something crazy like this one to steal people's tokens and make it their own!
1383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC or ETH to invest in Alts on: December 19, 2017, 10:36:11 AM
when an altcoin drops it is usually not because the other coin you are trading it against (bitcoin or ethereum) has gone up. it is because people dumped that coin and move on. this is specially true when we are talking about smaller altcoins with a much smaller volume.
1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe that BCH is around the corner of another round of surging? on: December 19, 2017, 10:24:31 AM
the more bitcoin struggles with the fee market the better they are going to pump bitcoin cash. and each time it will get bigger. and right now bitcoin has a gigantic backlog which doesn't seem to be wanting to clear up!
you can only guess how much they are going to pump bitcoin cash.

it is interesting though, because i do really want to find out what will happen to bitcoin cash if some day it grew big enough that instead of 100 kilobyte blocks it really starts finding 8 MB blocks and then builds up a bigger backlog for itself.
what is their plan by then? implement SegWit then? implement Lightning Network or something like it and call it a different name?
1385  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Jumps High This year on: December 19, 2017, 10:10:44 AM
How the Predictions of 2018?

the same thing but a little bigger, specially at first. same drops and bigger panic sells now that there are even more weak hands invested in bitcoin.
bigger rise afterwards again because there are a lot more weak hands who will FOMO buy. and same FUDs all over the internet about bitcoin being dead and a bubble, blah blah.

Quote
Can I invest in Cryptocurrency in 2018?

you can. nothing is stopping you. but it is best that you start small and remember investing in bitcoin and with a bigger emphasis in altcoins is very risky. plan accordingly.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone explain the current market to me?? on: December 19, 2017, 10:03:27 AM
Alts getting a huge pump and bitcoin stagnant after the big CME release. Don’t get it.

if you check some history i am sure you will get it.

what bitcoin currently is, is not called "stagnate"! what did you expect? a 100% rise every single day? that is not going to happen in bitcoin. there will be slower rise and between each rise there will be a correction and then continued rise after some consolidation.

as for altcoins, they are getting pumped like always. as i said look at some histories. you can see times like this are pretty common when alts get pumped hard.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A sudden surge in Dogecoin? What's going on? on: December 17, 2017, 12:03:39 PM
I'm kind of surprised today about Dogecoin's performance. As of now, Dogecoin needs a new developer to make this as one of the "big dogs" in the cryptoverse.
even if all the developers in the whole world gather around they can not make Dogecoin any bigger than it can be.
this coin is fundamentally broken with fast blocks, huge blockchain and a limitless supply. we are better off using fiat with its limitless supply than doge Wink

Quote
I don't know what's going on what's behind the surge of Dogecoin? Can anyone enlighten me?

from time to time Dogecoin has pumps like this. it has always been like it. i don't know who and how but all i know is that it happens!
1388  Economy / Speculation / Re: WILL BITCOIN HIT 24K AS BITCOIN IS LISTING ON CME EXCHANGE TOMORROW 17TH DEC ? on: December 17, 2017, 11:52:51 AM
to be clear Chicago Mercantile Exchange is not listing "bitcoin" on their exchange! they are listing a futures trading market in their platform for a special way of trading stuff. it is very different from what you see on regular exchanges for trading.

and in my opinion the rise from around $8000 to $15000 (nearly 2x rise) was because of this news. and rises are known to happen when the news first comes out not after market starts for example.

for after the market starts (which is tomorrow i beleive) we may even see some small drops but in the long run it will be helpful for more adoption and that leads to much higher solid rise.
1389  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin going up on: December 17, 2017, 11:41:27 AM
Will bitcoin go up even more than what it is now?
yes, in the long run price will be increasing as bitcoin grows more, adds new things like Lightning Network for example and has more real merchant adoption as a currency...

Since its going up, does that mean people are buying more or selling more?
it means more people are buying more not just less selling. in fact there are still quite a lot of sales happening too. there are traders who get out because they reach their desired profit percentage or some people who want to reduce the risk or speculate a drop (right or wrong) so they act quick.
1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on John McAfee's statements about Bitcoin's future? $1M prediction on: December 17, 2017, 11:33:00 AM
Just bought 0.01 BTC yesterday and I was wondering what reasons we have to believe what he is saying about his $1M prediction.
I want to put more money into it,

if you have just invested to become rich then it will never happen. and i do really believe that if everyone starts thinking about how rich they can get and forget what they are buying then price will never get there.

instead it is best to understand what bitcoin is.
what it means to be a decentralized money.
what it means to be a safe and fast currency that nobody controls.
and generally all the benefits of bitcoin.

if you do that, i think you will get your answer too. you will see why people believe that bitcoin price will be a lot more than what it is today.
but if you just look at it as some virtual numbers on the internet that gain value, of course you will find it hard to believe 1 bitcoin can be worth $1 million dollar and more.
1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can paying in Bitcoin save tax? on: December 17, 2017, 11:23:04 AM
depending on where you live, things you do may or may not be subjected to paying taxes. and if you are making a considerable amount of money then you need to consult some experts about this or you will be taking a big risk down the line in case the Tax Authorities (like IRS in US) come after you.

and don't think you are escaping just because you used bitcoin. it is best to have a good plan right now instead of being in a lot of troubles later on.
1392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Convincing case to buy more even at high price on: December 17, 2017, 11:17:37 AM
i believe at times manipulation can still be big and effective and it is even possible to have even a bigger effect than before.
manipulation works best on those with little knowledge of the market and bitcoin in general. and these days market is filled with them. it is true that it has grown so big which makes the normal manipulation harder but i believe if something happens, all these newcomers will be considered weak hands.
1393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC time! on: December 16, 2017, 10:27:32 AM
i never agree with any "all in"s but i have to say i can see some short term potential in Ethereum Classic in the near future. it has not been pumped that much compared to most of the altcoins these days and that also gives it another potential for getting a proper pump soon.

i would keep my eyes open if i were you to see how it performs then invest a big amount to get the biggest profit possible.
1394  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin the next big thing? on: December 16, 2017, 10:15:03 AM
Bitcoin might excel if currencies like the dollar et al trips under a hyperinflation scenario ...
wether Bitcoin can replace normal currencies ...

bitcoin is not supposed to "replace" fiat. and it was never the plan. it is like saying when Paypal started back in 1998 it was supposed to replace all traditional money!

bitcoin is like an option, a secondary currency that is decentralized and free of censorship and government control. anybody from anywhere in the whole world can use it the way they like without answering to anyone.

Why then should people invest in or buy a currency that can rise or fall by 20 percent in an hour or two?

this has nothing to do with bitcoin being the "next big thing" or "replacing fiat".
and to answer your question, many people are investing in bitcoin because it is volatile! you don't see a trader jumping up and down saying the asset i bought to make profit is not moving at all, woot woot.
1395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Only 2 days untill CME launch Bitcoin future! on: December 16, 2017, 10:02:56 AM
well, to be honest i say the news is over and the hype is going down now. and the price has already risen enough because of this and the huge amount of money that it brought into bitcoin in total.

but on the other hand if you check the price, you can see it is rising again. so i am not so sure about it. but i tell you what, if price breaks above $19000 this is a legit rally otherwise it is simple fluctuation testing the waters.
1396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Like Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc Bitcoin will not stand alone on: December 16, 2017, 09:56:59 AM
yes, if a real decentralized and trustless cryptocurrency pops up out there that is better than bitcoin, then it can come up and grow to bitcoin's size and have real adoption.

but so far all i see is premined altcoins and lots of projects that only give promises so they can get a much bigger ICO fundraising. and as soon as the devs get paid or cash out their free money, they stop doing anything else.
and the projects are all broken and useless these days. and the bigger coins are heavily centralized which makes me wonder why would anyone choose them over something like Visa! because the centralized altcoins are  competing with centralized world which has Visa...
1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it late to invest 10K? on: December 16, 2017, 09:45:34 AM
I plan to have 50% in bitcoin, 40% in promising alts (stratis, shift, neo) and the 10% invest into good icos (2 or 3 maybe)

40% in altcoins is too much in my opinion. and i have yet to see a proper promising altcoin. most of them only last for a short amount of time before they become not-promising!

if you want to dedicate 40% of your money to trading altcoins in general then that is a different question. i wouldn't suggest buying and holding altcoins really.
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Price continue to increase, do you regret to sell it all? on: December 14, 2017, 09:43:09 AM
as someone who is advertising a website for tickers and stuff like that you should already know that litecoin price dropped a lot at some point after the first pump and then multiple times after it because of bitcoin rise and some other reasons.

just the fact that it is rising now doesn't mean you should have never sold anything. instead what you should regret is not selling it when it was dropping to be able to buy more at the bottom and make more profit!
1399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Million Dollar Bitcoin on: December 14, 2017, 09:35:05 AM
If that's so, would investing in it be just like it is now... you buy percentages of it, unless you're able to afford a whole one or more?
you always buy what you can it doesn't matter if 1 whole bitcoin is worth $10 or $1,000,000.
it is the same with everything else. you don't see people going around and wanting to buy a barrel of gold! they buy 1 gram of gold instead because that is what they can afford to buy.

Quote
Or... would it even be possible for it reach that value seeing as how there are many other alt coins popping up...
so many altcoins are useless shitcoins that will not even last half a year.

Quote
at some point people in general will just "give up" BTC because it's just so "out of reach?"
"out of reach" doesn't even mean anything. as i said it is like gold. you don't go to the market and ask to buy 1 Ton of gold! and you don't give up buying gold because 1 Ton of gold is "out of reach" you buy 1 gram.

1 satoshi is worth $0.00016 even if bitcoin was $1 million 1 satoshi would be $0.01 i don't see how that is "out of reach"!

Last... seems like the bull run has come to a halt.
it is called "accumulation" google it.
1400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with blockchain fees? on: December 14, 2017, 09:27:31 AM
you pay fees based on the size of your transaction in bytes. your transction must be HUGE that you are asked to pay that much fee. something around 2200 bytes which is 10 times bigger than a normal bitcoin transaction size, as a result you are paying 10 times more than a normal bitcoin transaction fee.

next time try accepting less micro payments and ask for a bulk payment of all of them at once.
