2341  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price with a 4 year cycle? on: June 02, 2022, 10:14:42 PM
I don't believe in blind cycles. I believe in cause and consequence. Bitcoin was doing pretty well by last year and probably would still be on the last ATH's price range (or even above), if it wasn't for the raisement in interest rates by FED in US. On the moment the speculation about the new interest rates started, bitcoin stagnated and declined slowly from that moment on, until the rates stopped being a speculation and became reality, so bitcoin crashed to the levels we saw on the past weeks. Anyway, bitcoin doesn't depend on a cycle to recover itself. All the market needs are "causes" or "triggers" that will awake positive consequenecs for bitcoin.

And frankly, the more traditional markets and fiat currencies lose value and credibility, the more bitcoin will be benefited. It's a dilemma we live, because at same time we are being prejudiced as country and society, bitcoin is prone to gain value.
I like your thinking and it's true bitcoin doesn't take 4 years to recover, so let's see that later
Not exactly 4 years, but we know that there are triggers and catalyst for the next bull run and that is bitcoin halving. So when is the next process? its May 2024.

But I somewhat agree that more money will flow in the next bull run that might come to traditional markets. Of course inflation will be one factor, specially for smart people to really put their money into bitcoin as a hedge against this rate increase and overtime, instead of losing value in our money, bitcoin might do the opposite.
2342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t rush to buy Bitcoin on: June 02, 2022, 09:49:03 PM
Today there was a correction of more than 7%, of course many panicked and sold bitcoin, but many were waiting for the price to drop even lower to buy, today I put around $250 for the price of $28500 in the market, so when the price drops below $30k usually there will be a volume of transactions and I think the price could still go down again than it is now.
For small investors expect bitcoin to fall in the near future, because they can buy bitcoin in a certain amount, but unlike big investors, they have been investing in bitcoin for a long time, so if there is a sharp decline in price, the investment they run will stagnate in place, nothing can be maximized with such an investment pattern, but the market reaction is already running on a major correction, but for bitcoin it doesn't show this as the end of its journey
DCA could be a strategy that can help retail investors to accumulate bitcoin. It might take some time though, but still everyone can benefited from it specially that we are in a bear market and it will take another 2 years before the bull run. So take this time as an opportunity not to complain about the price but instead take advantage of it and buy as many as you can. Doesn't mean 1 BTC right now, but slowly thru DCA'ing.
2343  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto exit strategies on: June 02, 2022, 12:37:14 PM
(a) Entry and (b) Exit strategies, Everyone was entry, what price they want to get inside. But majority lacks the exit point, and maybe they really don't have as they keep on trading and when the time comes that they wanted to get out, all profits is no longer there. So for every beginner traders, it is very important that you follow this to the tee, otherwise it might be devastating at the end. As for me, I have to learn it the hard way. Nevertheless, it teaches me one very important lessons in crypto trading/investing.
2344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: friendly and profitable board for beginners, have you realized it? on: June 02, 2022, 11:14:37 AM

There are a lot of gambling threads that cater for specific sports, i.e. Premier League, NBA, Tennis, Boxing and others.

And yes, for sure gamblers here are following that thread and simply tailing some bets as it is no secret that a lot of them are giving tips in those boards and it's up to you whether to follow it or not. So you made money, and maybe you can start that as initial capital and then follow that thread again for some tips. As it good give you another win.
2345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: June 02, 2022, 09:43:40 AM
It is worth it because this is another history and we don't know if this could be the last match for Donaire as he's going to retire from the pro boxing.
And he said that he wants to win this time so, there's the determination that comes from it which makes it very interesting as we want him to win this match against Inoue.

I don't think he will retire if he wins the match, the match by then will be even and they need to have a third one to resolve who is the better fighter, I love to see a trilogy on this match, but Donaire is in the twilight of his career and Inoue is just starting out and on his way to his greatness, they both have determinations but we all know this is physical sports and young legs will have an edge over the old one.
I hope Donaire can come out with a performance as he did in his last two fights or great if it will be a better performance.
A third match would come if he wins and Inoue wants to take back the glory from him. But before thinking about that, we'll get to know if there's a 3rd one after this match.
I've heard that he has said about his retirement and that's very likely after this match but then again, we don't know if that will happen and everything is up to him, win or lose.
If he wins this fight, I doubt that Donaire will just hang up his gloves. Yes, he has nothing to proved but boxers are still to go for that one last fight in their career to see if they still has it. And with the belt and as a champion, he will simply thinks that he need to defend it as least 1 time and say that it is no fluke winning it against the Monster Inoue. So he won't retire if he wins.
2346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto bubble popping is a good thing? on: June 01, 2022, 11:56:30 PM
Obviously, crypto market has evolved as well, so its initial purpose may have to change overtime. Remember that the government is also hot on our heels, so we adapt.

As far as predicting what will happen in the next 3 years, I guess we have to look at the bull run in 2017 and then the eventual crash as the bubble has pop 2018 and better part of 2020.

So we see a lot of coins dying, but then again more copy cat applications being born. So this cycle will repeat itself. I wouldn't say it's a good thing, but this is how the market works and not seeing that this is going to change in the next couple of years.
2347  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 01, 2022, 11:34:22 PM
For me, we haven't touch the lowest low yet, so it's possible that we can touch $27k this month. Although we have bounce back this last week, I'm not really sure, maybe this could be another trap, sort of catching a falling knife. We've barely enter this month and a lot of things can still affect us, like the noise behind us, the war in Europe and then the Fed rate hike or even another set of FUD will trigger another sell-off.
2348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 01, 2022, 06:44:16 PM
I just watched first 2 sets of this clay classic and it was extremely good tennis from both Nadal and Djoković. Some points were borderline impossible. I expected Djoković to do better after winning that 2nd set but obviously Nadal likes his king of clay mantle and doesn't plan on relinquishing it soon.

Wasn't able to see anything of the match but there was a massive value on Nadal to win. Nadal will have some more difficult matches (against Zverev next round) but I don't see anybody beat Nadal this year so most probably he will win yet another Roland Garros. The only way he can be defeated if his injury really plays up.
Hopefully though, Nadal still has some on his gas tank after that grueling match against Djokovic because that game seems to be the finals for me. Their match will be tomorrow at 8:45 pm local time, so another night game for Nadal in which he has a problem with, but let's see.

And then we have a classic game as well between Ciilic and Rublev, it went 5 sets and now on a tie break. Nerve wrecking game.
2349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 01, 2022, 09:16:11 AM
^^ Right, I saw one interview wherein he confirmed that he will not sign a contract extension with Floyd's promotion and this will be his last fight for them. Although Ellerbe said post fight press conference that he doesn't discuss their boxers contract in public, it seems inevitable. They can't blame him though, Floyd took that route as well when he severe his ties with Bob Arum and let him manage his own career. So this is what Tank's gonna do throughout, and definitely to cut the middleman in Floyd. But I will say that they did a good job building Tank's name in this division and making him a champion and a household name for even a casual sports fans.

Gervonta Davis got a big break with Mayweather Promotion and I think he is surely on the right track if he is trailing Floyd Mayweather into his greatness, that is what I think by managing his own, he can surely become very versatile on his own, but I think he owes his popularity to his promotion and trainers in what he become now, but right now, after defeating Romero, in my opinion, Davis will be lifted in a new environment and now that he is out of Mayweather promotions, there is no doubt that he is in a different league now, and I don't really expect a rematch anytime soon despite the claims of Romero exposing him, and got all the rounds I highly doubted that,
I think he acknowledges what Mayweather promotions has done in his career. He trained with the best and they really help him to where he is right now, no doubt about it. But as a free agent, yes, he will become more versatile, can dictate the negotiations in his own term. He won't change any of his corners soon, including his trainers. They have build a camaraderie, even his mother is involved and hands-on. Everyone saw what happened, and I think we could agree that a rematch is not needed.
2350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin long-term holders continuing to ‘soak up supply’ around $30K on: June 01, 2022, 07:21:32 AM
I have been privileged or fortunate to start investing in Bitcoin when the price was below $31,000.
Good for you. And currently, as the price march to $32k, you might see some good profits already.

There have been so much analysis and speculation s by economist and cryptocurrency analysts but I am very confident that Bitcoin is the best investment for me. I am willing to take the risk and follow Bitcoin to the deep or the pump. Each time I open my wallet I see the red signs, but recently the green signs are more frequent. But the news of long-term holders buying more is good news because I believe it has the tendency of pushing up the price of Bitcoin.
I do hope that you don't just believed those speculators and economist, because there is no expert here. Everyone is free to throw some random numbers and that's it. Long term holders as using a lot of strategy to maximized the price that they are going to buy. So we might as well learn from them on how to accumulate, like buying at the dip and DCA.

2352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 31, 2022, 09:55:53 PM
Nadal's biggest fear has been swept away today, the young Spaniard lost to Zverev. Nadal will be very happy about that. The Spaniard recently lost to Alcaraz, but the pressure on Roland Garros has become too much for him. Now the road to the title seems open for Nadal. A clinch with Djokovic is still a possibility.
It's might be true that Alcaraz is the biggest threat for him, and as he lost to Zverev, maybe Nadal's mindset is very positive right now. But he has to deal with Djokovic first and it's no easy task. He took the 1st first but then Djokovic comes back strong in the 2nd. And so far this is still a toss up, although I want Nadal to win but this might go to the wire 5th in a close to 5 hour match.

Nadal up 4-1 in the 3rd set, he is serving.
2353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sideways huh! on: May 31, 2022, 04:06:14 PM
So $25k-$30 will likely be the range, of course we wanted to see we maintain the upper bound of $30k'ish but we will see.
At least in the last 7 days, bitcoin more than 8%, so that's a significant increased already and the upper bound that you mentioned has been over come. We are now back to $32k, so if anyone has bought it when the price is trading sideways, this could be a great time to check your portfolio and see some growth. So this June might be different, but we shouldn't celebrate yet. Let us wait if we can break into $35k. That will be a huge accomplishment and at least short term the price has rebounded and maybe we can forgot about the Luna effect.
2354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 31, 2022, 02:53:35 PM
In the beginning of the playoffs klay Thompson was a 50-1 shot for winning the NBA finals mvp, doesn't look like a bad bet right now.  If the Warriors win it will very likely be because of steph or klays shooting.  Was gonna pull the trigger and never did, I thought Memphis was gonna beat the Warriors.  OH well.
Yeah, but Klay caught on fire against the Dallas series. But I still except the Steph will really bring his A-game in the finals and hopefully if they win it, he might be the MVP.

And not sure what the odds are for him to win, but it should be lower as compare to Klay. We will see then, Boston will be a big challenge for the Splash brothers because of the former's defense mentality.
2355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 31, 2022, 01:59:49 PM
I am glad that this match is finally happening. The only thing I want is to have a honest jury. Adalaide Byrd made a mockery during the first fight and people like me lost our trust with boxing because of that. IMO, GGG won the first match although the jury handed it out as a draw. And in the second match, it was more like a draw, but the jury awarded it to Canelo. As such I don't have anything against Canelo, but it won't be unfair to him if I claim that without the help from the jury he wouldn't have defeated Golovkin in 2018.
Maybe this time they will get a compete judge to score the fight between the two. If I'm not mistaken, Byrd was suspended as a boxing judge after her scoring of the first fight, and if my memory serves me right, she retired after this controversy.

Anyhow, still a long way to go before this fight but it seems we really can't wait for it to happen. A lot of pros and cons and I will say that this fight could still be as close as the other 2, very hard to score.
2356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: May 31, 2022, 01:24:19 PM
Again, I don't know about this opponent of his, I thought he is done with the tune-up, and now he has another tune-up fight? Well, if this is necessary before Garcia will face Davis, then I think I would just accept and watch this fight, I just love to see Garcia fighting Davis and I think I like his chances against Davis.
Maybe Ryan is still not that confident to fight those champions that's why he chooses another easy tune up for him in Fortuna.

And just like the rest of boxing fans here, doesn't look good for Ryan Garcia's image now as he was very vocal of fighting Davis but then his promotions are not going to set it up for him. Money is not the problem as we have seen the Davis can draw crowd. But maybe they think that Ryan is not yet ready for a bigtime fight with Davis as this point.
2357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the market rise in June on: May 31, 2022, 12:43:36 PM
I think it is going to be 50/50 as we are predominantly in the bear market. So we might see some occasions wherein the price will go on green for the whole week and then followed by another red candle. So this June, I expect the same, first two-three weeks will be good with some recovery, (actually we already had some bounce back already, BTC 3% something increased and the markecap at 4% increased. So that is a good sign, nevertheless as I have said, we are in bearish cycle so it's better not to put our hopes of a good increased this June.
2358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last chance for the cheap 3-digit coins on: May 31, 2022, 11:52:37 AM
This was posted in November 2013 which is exactly when it topped. And it pretty much stayed 3 digits for many years afterwards.

It finally broke the 4 figures again until 2017, due to the possible ETF listing with the Facebook twins. However if you took his advice you would be underwater for over 3 years.

The low was like $175 or $200 or so. So buying there would of been the most optimal. Instead of buying at $1000 during the huge FOMO rally.
Just funny though to see this old thread and it seems it doesn't change at all. Now that we are in the 5 digit level and yet people still thinks that the price is too expensive for them. So they wait till like $20k-$25k range.

But then again, the price suddenly grows again. The lesson is that it's never too late to buy and then just continue to accumulate overtime. That simple and yet effective formula has been proven for years (based on this old thread).
2359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: May 30, 2022, 11:36:54 PM
Back to Inoue and Donaire, I don't have issues on how prepared is the latter. In fact, I believe that he's more than ready for this rematch now.
That's what Donaire said in an interview, he said he is better in the 2nd fight because he already saw what Inoue could do against him.
In this rematch, all he need to do is to make an adjustment and make sure he will not gassed out if the fight will again to go distance.

But the real question is, can he defeat Inoue? Both of them have improved but can Donaire's body manage the catastrophe that the monster of Japan could bring.
No one knows, as per betting odds, Inoue is really the heavy favorites here, so if we based on that, Donaire's chance to beat Inoue is very slim.

this would be interesting if this will be another great upset in the boxing history. inoue has the young blood here but we can't ignore donaire's skills and experience.  now, we will see if donaire's strategy will work on inoue. as he said, he already experienced inoue inside the ring so he knew now where to adjust. but this will be the same for inoue. so this is the battle of strategies then...
Yeah, probably Inoue will used his experience in this fight. And as you have said, they have fought once already and he knows what Inoue can bring in the table. So he will adjust and will try to remember Inoue's weaknesses if he found one in the first fight and try to exploit it in the rematch. Maybe Donaire will really target the chin of Inoue and test it out and if he damages it again like the one he did on the first fight then possible that Inoue might be weaken if he feels the pain of a broken bone in this face specially if Donaire can get to it at early rounds.
2360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: May 30, 2022, 11:08:44 PM
Guys, what's your opinion about these NBA finals!!!?

I've been thinking seriously... do you believe the Celtics can beat the Warriors!!? Maybe something similar to the Cavs comeback from the 2016 Finals?
I think it will be the Warriors that are going to win the NBA finals. And I don't see the Celtics pulling out a Cavs comeback, but the game will be very tough, There will be no 2 point cushion here, the score could be 1-1 and then 2-2 and then 3-3. So I reckon another game 7 wouldn't hurt and for sure we want this kind of game. But in the  end I'm seeing the Warriors capping up this year with a NBA trophy and Curry getting his 1st Finals MVP.
