1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & China time to time waving History on: January 17, 2023, 12:33:07 PM

Why is it always the China's decisions about crypto effect the market badly why not some other countries?
Probably it's their influence, as most of the miners are located in China and that's why any news coming from them affected the market positive or negative. But that control has slowly dwindling down, as most of the miners have either get out of China or just stop their mining farm totally.

In any case though, as I have said, it seems that their hold on bitcoin and crypto in general has gone down.

Specially the love and hate relationship and the FUD coming from their government. And maybe one reason though is that they don't want to give so much financial freedom as we all know how authoritative their government is.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you sell off during the 21k price breach. on: January 17, 2023, 11:13:20 AM
Nope, although I could have made a profit because I keep on buying since the $15,500 price range, it doesn't make sense to sell today because I'm looking for term investment and obviously bigger profits. But I have nothing against for those who have sold at $21k, maybe they need some money or will reinvest it into something.

But for best results, it's better to just continue to accumulate as long as you can this year.

We will have the catalyst for a crazy bull run next year, so it's better to prepare ourselves today and not just sell our precious bitcoin because someone is willing to scope that at a cheap price we are selling at $21k.
1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: January 17, 2023, 10:06:54 AM
Can't wait to see this match happens. Devin Haney is right in choosing to fight Lomachenko. I agree with Tank Davis that although Haney is an undisputed champion, he is not really that saleable of a fighter. I think it's because of the way he fights. Defeating an old Loma would somehow boost his popularity. If he will be defeated at least he is defeated in a mega fight and by Lomachenko. It is still worth it.
Yeah, I read that comment though, but you have to look at the perspective of a boxer or as a fan. As a boxer, we have to respect Devin Haney, he traveled to the backyard of the champion that time Kambosos and then defeated him twice. Although he is not as bankable as Tank Davis, still though he gets the job done and has all the belts that only Davis can envy. On the other hand, if you are a fan, Haney's style is very boring, as he played mostly on a the defensive stance and doesn't have that knockout power that Davis or Ryan Garcia possessed.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 17, 2023, 08:46:52 AM
It appears that Tank vs. King Ry will end very much similar to Crawford vs. Spence. They avoid each other because they are afraid that losing would affect their attractiveness to promoters and lower their demanding price during contract negotiations. This is very bad for the fans and very bad for the sport of boxing. The best boxers should be fighting against the other best boxers. Boxing's only chance for the greatest superfights on 2023 might only be from Naoya Inoue.

I don't know if both are being really protected by their promoters, or the boxers themselves are afraid to have their 0 gone. We've seen a lot of great boxers, who lost their 0 and yet still the cash cow, for instance Canelo Alvarez or even Manny Pacquaio. I think still boils down to money and the purse split and which network are going to carry this fight.

I agree, however, not all boxers can have similar careers as Canelo and Pacman and look at who Canelo and Pacman fought. Also, whatever happens Canelo and Pacman have become known names already. I reckon Tank and King Ry are not much known outside the world of boxing.

In any case, the skeptical me thinks that this ultimatum is Golden Boy's trick to withdraw from the deal. The reason, yes, I said it already. Golden Boy can make more money from Ryan Garcia with an undefeated record than with a loss in his record.

Yes, it could be a trick by Golden Boy to force Tank and his handlers for a sign deal. But they also have this experience as well, with Al Haymon at the top of it. So it's not as easy as it sound for Golden Boy to go into public and issue an ultimatum.

Let's see what the other party will do, for us there is not need to delay this fight again.

We want been hype with this one since last year and by now we should have at least some info as where the fight is going to be.
1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 17, 2023, 08:03:09 AM
Either way, the Lakers should call a timeout and nothing else. That was around 10 secs. left and lots of time to make a good play.
The Lakers are down by 1 and no one from the coaching staff even advises their players to call a timeout. They blew that opportunity and chances to win the game. I don't know why they thought that time and didn't decide to call a timeout.
I want the close game though that both teams managed to perform where there are lots of exchange of score leads happened.
Maybe that is due to the inexperience of the coach and his staff. But Lebron was also in the court, he could have called the time out himself since he is the most veteran player in there. Anyway, if they called a time out, they can set up an offense but the defense of Philly will also set up. Maxey and other defenders will be on court and it may be harder to execute.
Now, I really doubt the capabilities of the Lakers coaching staff. It is not yet playoffs and they are not able to make the proper calls already. That is too bad.

It seems as though the coaching staff of the Lakers has no idea what they are supposed to be doing. There are times when you look at the coaches and wonder what they are thinking. They are able to make decisions and feel as if they have a plan in place. However, that is not the case with the Los Angeles Lakers. In my opinion, the coaching staff of the Lakers looks like they are just doing things and hoping for the best.

Well, that's what you and the others thought. We all have criticized coaches and players for every mistakes they have done in their career, but remember, they are always better than us. Plans and plays doesn't work every time. We can't just say, the coaching staff has no idea of what needs to be done. They actually do, they're only making bad decisions, especially when it did not work.
The Lakers may not be easy to coach, because of LeBron presence. He is the kind of player who have a huge influence in the whole management. So, that's not gonna be easy for the head coach to handle.
I don't think that Lebron is hard to coach, I mean he has been with several teams already, winning rings, so it's not about the coaches, it's probably his team mates around that could make or break him. Although it could be intimidated to coach him because of his superstar status, but I think Lebron is not that hard headed and he respects his coach who ever it is on the current team that he is in. And speaking of Lebron, big games for him again, but this time they got the win, 48 points and almost put a triple double.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 16, 2023, 10:52:09 AM
^^ For now we can't say if he can do it or not, but if you look at the opposition, it seems that Inoue can make at least 2 of the 4 belts and only two boxers have so far held it Fulton and Murodjon Akhmadaliev.

So if given the chance to fight either one of them in his next fight in this new division then he has a chance to win another belt.

Or if his team decided to take a tune up match, then we will have to wait, but the chance are high since Inoue now has evolved to be one of the best boxers in this era, pound for pound.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 14, 2023, 01:45:52 AM
What a game. The Mavs was leading early and I thought the Lakers won't be able to catch them up but I was wrong. The Lakers though had bad 3-point shooting while Mavs' showed consistent accuracy with their shots.

If you check the stats, you will see that the Lakers made only 10 three-pointers in 41 attempts, while the Mavs made 14 three-pointers in 42 attempts. So I would say both teams made poor three-point shots in this game, even though the Mavs really were slightly better. However, one more thing worth noting is that the Lakers' total field goal percentage was only 39%, and that was probably one of the reasons why they lost this game.

Lakers desperately need AD back they suck without him.  They are a bottom 5-10 team without AD.  With that being said Dallas is just as bad.  Without Luka on the floor they might actually be the worst team in the NBA.  Luka is that good that he is propping that team up.  Knicks own their 1st round pick this year too so no help coming.  Luka is getting wasted on that team.
They are already in the bottom at the start of the season, yes there there moments when AD was putting MVP numbers, but they are already in the bottom that time that it's hard for them to recover, and once he is injured, it's back to where they started.

Give Luka some time or at least how Cuban will make the team better, surround him with a good player to help him out. So far still as they still look good and thanks to Luka's magic. But they still need someone to be consistent, Spencer D., Woods and Tim Hardaway should score every game at least average 20 points and they will be a good help.
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: January bitcoin price out look on: January 13, 2023, 07:14:35 AM
I guess the price of Bitcoin will reach $25k before the end of January because, the price has moved to $17k few days ago which are the signs people what to see to be strong in holding this new year. Since, the price of Bitcoin has moved from $16k to $17k show, that before the end of this January many people will start experiencing opportunity from their investment because the bear is about to leave the market for the bull to remain stable.
I agree with you here that bitcoin price will reach $25,000 before the end of January judging from the present market condition and how fast Bitcoin price has recovered in a short period within this year.

Bitcoin is on recovery mode and anything is popossible at this stage, jjustlike what we saw today when we went to bed with a 17k plus bitcoin price and woke up to almost 19k price just within 12 hours the price moved to that level. The
Let's see, part of me wanted to be positive, but isn't it $25k is just too big for January to break? I mean yeah, we are in the $19k price range, but breaking $20k is very different, it's a round numbers and we all know that sometimes, it's very hard to break that barrier unless there are good news that will sway the market for such huge movement.

So let's see first, $19k to break and then for the rest of the month, $20k is the target and let's see how we are going to stay.

1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 13, 2023, 03:40:21 AM
Anyone pick on the OKC to win against Sixers at Wells Fargo? it was a huge upset so not sure if someone here has the courage to bet on the OKC on the road and with Joel Embiid on the line up again.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but SGA had a big game with 37 points, and almost close to a triple double with 8 reb and 6 asst.

Celtics on the roll against beating the Nets without KD. Good bet for the Celtics backers as they won 11 point margin.
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 13, 2023, 02:39:58 AM
Declining offer in the NBA can become a worse case scenario if you don't have any second plan or someone already have offered you behind the curtain to decline any extension. We already seen some NBA players declining their contract extension and they quickly regret it because their calculations was wrong and they haven't receive the same offer since then. Let's see how will it turned out for JC this time.
Keyword: Dennis Schroder.  Cheesy
I don't know what Clarkson is thinking if ever this is true, the link is unknown to me so I won't jump the gun yet. from @boyptc
But if ever it happens I'd accept what Jazz is offering. It doesn't mean a bigger salary once they put you in the starter unit from the 6th man of the year.
He is changing, I guess it's too obvious not to see.
Bigger markets might be his target but being the face of the franchise is also a goal most NBA players are trying to achieve. He is now part of that duo with Markkanen and I think the Jazz management likes to keep it that way.
But, if he will force this kind of decision then he might find himself hanging waiting for a new contract.

But let's say Clarkson doesn't have a backup plan if he decided to decline a contract that Jazz will offer, I'm sure lots of teams will try to give him the best offers unlike in the case of Dennis Schroder who fully believes in himself that he is worth more than $84M four-year contract extension but ended up in a $5.9 million 1-year contract in the Boston Celtics.

In terms of playing level, Jordan Clarkson for me is pretty ahead of Schroder, and he is capable of carrying a team even though he is just a role player.

Declining a contract that Jazz will offer him will not result in the same as what happened to Dennis Schroder. But I agree with you, he needs to stay on Jazz.
If I'm not mistaken, he opted out already? so it means he will be shopping at the end of the year or even at the trade decline this February.

I do believed he has reasons, and probably thinks he is more valuable than the offer, similar to what Dennis thought when he was with the Lakers that time. But we can't deny the Jordan is one reason why the Jazz is not tanking, it's unexpected that after trading Mitchell and Gobert and others, they are still one of the best team in the West, thanks to JC scoring.
1491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Anonymity on: January 13, 2023, 01:16:37 AM
I have read that authorities are able to track the bitcoins if they are being move illegally. For example, if a wallet was hack and also most cryptocurrency exchange would require you to show ID when you sign up.

So my questions are..

1) How are the authorities able to track our bitcoins?
Well authorities has been seeking help of blockchain analysis companies like,

a: https://www.chainalysis.com/
b: https://ciphertrace.com/

2) How do we continue to remain anonymous while trading bitcoins?
You can used Decentralized exchange, or P2P

3) Are there cryptocurrency exchanges that does not require our ID to trade in large quantity?
I don't think that there are Centralized exchange that will not require you to do KYC with large quantities. They are mandated by authorities now to ask for personal information.
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin What is the probability of 60 K+ again? on: January 12, 2023, 03:40:51 AM
If you are already losing in trading, you might want to consider quitting. Trading is supposed to be profitable, so if you have a net negative, leave trading. Actually trading doesn't have to be net negative even during corrections and bear seasons. You can still profit from it, but only if you have got the trading skills. But if you don't have them, try hodling. It may not be profitable in terms of how much Bitcoin you have, but it is profitable in terms of its price especially in the long run.
And it's probably not for everyone, trading is not that simple, although we here people making huge amount of profits, it might be a different story for you or for many of us here. That's why I believed that it's not cut for everyone, and it's better to just buy at the bear market and accumulate, do DCA till the next bull run and you will be good and perhaps you can make a lot of money that way compared to trading itself. And with that $60k question, yeah, probably in the next bull run we will see that price again and who knows, we might double or triple that price as a new all time high in 2024-2025 run.
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why retail dont like xrp ? Are you xrp army ?what about garlinghouse on: January 12, 2023, 03:08:21 AM
They're not FUD but actual facts that XRP is in no good situation because of what they're facing about the lawsuit made by the SEC.
If this lawsuit becomes gone and that's going to be a big news for XRP itself and then most investors and traders are quickly going to FOMO with that good news, ONLY IF.
Yeah, this one is what we have or at least the investors is looking at this case has been dragging on for years if I'm not mistaken and there are no clear victor although XRP claim that they have a small victory and it pushes the price.

But it wasn't sustainable as we have though.

So for sure investors are still very cautious about XRP because we don't know what will be the outcome of the verdict. If it favors them by a long shot then good for their investors. But if it's not then obviously the price might go down hard.
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 12, 2023, 01:56:01 AM
Canelo though is wise now not to tie up or sign a longer contract after he severe his relationship with Oscar Dela Hoya. Now him and Eddie Hearn is just like 2-3 fights and after that whether Canelo will renew his contract or not.

This strategy has its own risks associated with it. If he loses 2-3 fights consecutively, then his market value may decline. Having a lengthy contract with someone like Eddie Hearn protects him from that. Also, injury is a big concern. If he is forced out for an extended duration as a result of injury, it may not be easy for him to get a big fight once he is back. And this is where a long-term contract maybe useful. In the end, it is up to Canelo to decide what is best for him. But he is no longer considered as invincible, after his loss to Dmitry Bivol.
Yep, but so far it's still very effective for him as he is still in his prime and can command huge amount as he is the cash cow. I can't say about his injury though, we will have to find out if it healed 100% or if he can reinjured it again, whoever whom he will face next.

But he was able to get back to winning form against his nemesis, GGG. So for sure there are still hype around him after his lost to Bivol. Just like what Manny in his career, he has a lot of losses, but was able to comeback and still get huge amount of money.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 12, 2023, 01:15:24 AM
~
I am cheering for the Joker to get his 3 straight MVP award
Other candidates are equally deserving to win but I also have no problem if Jokic gets it again. It probably helps that he appears to be a likable person and focuses on team wins rather than individual stats.
There are bad rumors about this Jokic as 3rd time consecutive MVP to happen. They said, "NBA won't let it happen as it would set another record."
But those are just rumors and I firmly believe NBA won't be that selfish enough to stop what is transparent.
Most of the stars of this era claimed 2 time MVPs, Steph Curry and Steve Nash. The last time a three-time MVP happened was Larry Bird. That will mean Nikola Jokic will level to legendaries like Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird if they give the 3rd one to him.
Will the NBA let this happen? I do hope they will.
And it's just rumors from NBA analysts almost like a conspiracy theory. If he deserves it, give it.
Yeah, I think it will be bad for the league to have Jokic win the MVP without him going into the finals? It's understandable if he bring his Nuggets to the finals and win the MVP at the same time and so it will be a complete domination.

But if he struggles again this season, although they are the number 1 team in the West, but we all know that playoff is very different, the atmosphere and it's a series. So better be Jokic proving himself with a ring instead of the NBA giving him his 3rd MVP.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer and Crypto Guru Gambles Away Investor Funds on: January 12, 2023, 12:15:40 AM
Oh well, people are really tempted when they see huge amount of money flowing on their side. But not sure why gambling is the number one activity that this guys went.

Perhaps it was really the greed of this people to feel like they are unstoppable and can do what they wishes even if it cost the money of their investors and their reputation. I'm sure majority of us are gambler here, but we take priorities in life and this could be a lessons for others not to play with anyone's money. Just play the money that you can afford to lose.
1497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who are responsible for the bear run on: January 11, 2023, 07:19:22 AM
In general it's the whole market itself,

a. investors started to sell to get their profits in the bull run
b. speculators created FUD to pull the price
c. there are black swan events that will trigger more sell off
d. world events, like the war and other geo-political war

So we can't really control what's going to happen in this bear market, and all we can is face that fact and be ready for it.
1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the $17,000+ bitcoin price breakout benchmark to new price direction on: January 11, 2023, 06:53:26 AM
Not sure how long that bullish look will continue last with Bitcoin, but I am very happy that this is happening right now when many did not expect such a price recovery, but seeing bitcoin above $17,000 is a big relief for most investors at least after a long period of a bear market, seeing a bullish recovery move is a big relief.

Let's just hope this momentum will be continued, and as such we will see more significant price benchmarks in the coming days.
We can't predict future prices but the market hasn't hit a recovery high and isn't bullish yet, if you compare last december prices there may have only been a $1K increase in price but good impact for a positive move in the first quarter of this year, we are already feeling confident that current price movement could signal that the market will be bullish this year.
But still a good start for year 2023, and it seems that investors have forgotten already the FTX debacle and that's why they are pouring their money in the market again pushing it above $17k once more.

Hopefully this can be maintained at the end of the year, maybe the Feds will make a pivot again when they released their CPI and this could be a good news for us as it might signal a bullish return for this month.
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 11, 2023, 02:09:55 AM
Durant misses at least two weeks, that would be a huge loss to BKN. They rather choose losing to Miami than losing Durant. Just when he broke another record and went up one more place in all time top scorers list, he could've gone one more place next game. I hope he'll return healthy soon.
Kyrie is playing great lately so I don't expect many losses from Brooklyn in this period. Sure Kyrie will use the ball more and Simmons should take more responsibility. T.J. Warren and Watanabe will get more playing time. Coach Vaughn will find a way to win games, Nets have a good squad. I don't think they'll go down just like Suns.
If only they could make that choice, they will indeed choose to get defeated rather than losing one of their efficient player that will make their situation much harder in the next few games without him. But, nobody anticipated that to happen and nobody wanted that to happen, it's just that Durant had to be in that wrong place at the wrong time.
But yes, they can still win some games even without him although it will be much harder now. Kyrie and Simmons will still do everything they can and will step up while Durant is still recovering from the suspected MCL injury. Just a couple of weeks won't hurt and they can still come back much stronger.

I think not having KD it’s obviously going to be a problem for the team. But they will have to work with what they have. No one expected this to happen. And we can also say that this was a very unlucky situation for both the team and the player.

But I think we can say that, even though this is a very unexpected situation, they have to find a solution. I absolutely agree that this is going to be very hard for them to win matches from now on. But the rest of the team will have to perform better and try to bring as better results as they can.
They really don't have a choice right now, they have to adapt otherwise they will lost their momentum. They will have to find a way to win games, and Kyrie now will be the center of their offense. He is used to this kind of situation though with Cavs and the Boston Celtics.

Their starting five will also have to elevated their games without KD. They can't simply rely to Kyrie for the offensive.

Ben Simmons need to score points not just contribute in assist and rebounds.
1500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 11, 2023, 01:33:17 AM
The Ellis hype train though has ended in this fight, hehehe. And also Ennis, I guess there is always a first time, as he was extended by Karen to 12 rounds but it was a complete domination by Jaron to win every rounds. So no more Ennis vs Ellis fight in the future, too bad, they hype it already during the press con in this fight.
I lost both my bets on those two fights as I took the early ending for Ennis to win and the same for Ellis.
Karen was as tough as hell and gave Ennis a difficult time getting a knockdown.
Villa on the other end dominated Ellis. I was just curious why he felt like he won that fight when interviewed, I mean, how many knockdowns were that?
That's all score for Villa.

As what we expected, Davis won but not after a tough and need some rounds to figure out Hector Garcia. But the ring IQ of Davis is one of the best in the game and keep on hitting that same spot of the eye of Garcia. And the total accumulation, as he did the damage was enough and his eye was hurt. And if the boxer complains that he can't see, then it's gonna be over. Hopefully the eye is not that damage to the extend that it needed a repair or something.
Davis was patient, but Garcia was not. When he started to put his hands down, he gave Davis the biggest chance he could have. I gave Garcia most of the rounds and if it ended UD, there's a high chance the judges might also give him the win (assuming every round will be the same). But we will never know, maybe if he continued it will be worst.
Thankfully, his coaching side is good and checked him first before letting him stand again.
I also hope it will not be a bad injury but from the looks of it, his head might've just shaken a bit.

Yeah, unfortunately, some of us lost that Ennis and Ellis bet as well, Ennis is expected to finished the fight early as he was a huge favorite going into this fight and we thought that it will not even last 3 rounds. But Karen was very tough and durable and doesn't want to go down in this fight and continue to stand in front of Ennis, although we can see that he was frustrated at times.

As for Ennis, again, the hype on him has gone, second time that Villa has pulled an upset as a underdog.

I guess for Ennis he can't accept the defeat, but him getting knockdown twice says enough. And Villa says that it is just a matter of time because he can land that big shot because he knows that Ennis will get tired and that's exactly what happen and that knockdown was a big swing on points on his favor.
Villa though says that he is willing to go for a rematch if Ennis wanted it, but I guess Ennis will have to swallow his pride if he wanted to fight Villa again because it derail his plans to even fight Ennis next.

So props for Villa, he was not intimidated and then follow his game plan in this match and it work perfectly as he knows that Ellis is going to be gas out as the fight goes on.

And sorry for those who bet on him and take the upset L.
