1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: February 10, 2023, 10:50:44 AM
Sometimes I find myself being added to Telegram groups where they are doing bounty campaigns for new coins but at the end of the day, people will start complaining that the project is dead. In most cases I exited from the groups immediately I find myself there because I feel they are prone to defrauding people.
This makes me to wonder if bounties really pay.
Well i already experienced joining different bounty  campaign some projects are paying and some are not, for now i only joined the campaign that manage by a trusted bounty managers to avoid wasting of time, but sometimes good managers manage a campaign that is scam or not paying maybe there are campaigns that is legit and turn into a scam after a couple of year and now i considered bounty as a gambling and it depends on your luck on every projects that you promoted.
Maybe that's one good sign, the project should be managed by a well known and trusted bounty manager. But if I'm not mistaken, there are projects as well who turn to be scam even if it being run by a reputable member of the community. And when they accused, they can't answer because they themselves fall victim to the project. But the bad part is that they got negative tag. Anyhow, that how's the bounty project ever since, majority are not paying or if they are going to pay, it will took a long time and even chances the payment scheme and lower it.
1402  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: February 10, 2023, 10:01:47 AM
right now I see the price of bitcoin on an exchange which is 21750, and has decreased by approximately 6% and I want to ask everyone,
is it possible that bitcoin will return to the price of 19000? or after this decline bitcoin will go back up higher ,,,?

and also I want to know what caused the bitcoin price to drop drastically?
Not sure what is the cause of the sudden downturn as we have been enjoying a good run last January. I would speculate that maybe the news that localbitcoins is closing down,

https://cointelegraph.com/news/localbitcoins-closes-down-the-p2p-crypto-exchange-service

It has been one staple front for crypto enthusiast and it's hard to see that a institution like this is going to close down it's services to us.

Or maybe this news also contributed somewhat:

1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 10, 2023, 08:25:15 AM
Shakur Stevenson says Devin Haney has no choice but fight him or vacate in 2023

It's too early to talk about this, I think Haney should beat Lomachenco in his upcoming fight, and let's see if Shakur and Hane's fight is going to happen. Loma is not going to give this fight easily to Haney, in fact, I believe that Loma has a good chance of beating Haney if he can use his accuracy. I mean, Loma is still here, he can fight and could win, so why are people underestimating him?

I'm also surprised that some are assuming that Haney is coming out as the certain winner of this battle. It is as if Haney is fighting against somebody who is not a good boxer. Will Haney surely win this fight? I don't think so. Perhaps they're only looking at physical stats or age or some numbers that Haney has higher or more than Loma, but Loma has not lost everything yet. He is still quick and athletic. He could actually defeat Haney. Somebody should remind Shakur of this.
It's due to the fact that Loma wasn't the same when he fight Ortiz, although he won the fight, some boxing pundits are not totally sold on his performance and so they think that Haney will be in the advantage. Young and tall and have the reach advantage. And it the same Loma shows in this fight, then maybe he will lose this one.

But we will see, it seems Loma had a ring rust that time that he wasn't able to shake. For sure he has learn his lessons, and as good as he is, he might go and perform better in this fight and win.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 10, 2023, 02:04:48 AM
Warriors fans will be happy bringng back Gary Payton II back to the team.
On the other hand, John Wall return as well to the Houston Rockets,  Grin
Pat Bev traded to Magic, in exchange of Mo Bamba, I guess we have the answers now. After losing Thomas Bryant, now they got Bamba as a back up center for Anthony Davis. So the Lakers Flip Bryant, Russ and Pat Bev -> Mo Bamba, D’Lo, Beasley, and Vanderbilt.
And John Wall taking shit about the Houston Rockets on his last stint with them, unfortunately, he will be coming back so no love lost for him and the fans of the Rockets.

I guess the Lakers did great on the trading deadline, getting Mo Bamba is great as a back up center and then D'Lo as well to play as guard. So for me it's a win win for LA and this could be the final push for them for the playoff this year. We have witnessed Lebron breaking the record, it's time for them to at least make a run after the all star break.
1405  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 10, 2023, 01:19:13 AM
I think this kind of mindset tends to show itself as we grow older, and more intelligent on the financial side of things. But when we are young, we don't know how to save for the rainy days and think of our future.

That's why it really good to let the young generations knows a thing or two with regards to investment specially assets like bitcoin. It should be in the long run and what we all preach, invest what you can afford to lose.
1406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 09, 2023, 01:12:16 PM
We can potentially expect 80,000 in 2023. Everything will depend on both the economic situation and the degree of acceptance of bitcoin and the level of use in interstate settlements. it is no longer necessary to be tied to halving alone, since a huge portion of the coins have already been mined.
For me no one really can tell, even TA can't tell us if we are going to $80k for this year, so it's better to

a. not expect something that big so that we won't be disappointed
b. regardless of what the price will be at the end, we should take our investment for long term.

So with that, why not just accumulate and stack sats?
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: February 09, 2023, 12:13:29 PM
Shakur will be the favorite here, its also a home court advantage so this will be a big challenge for Yoshino, both boxer are undefeated so this will be a big pressure to them. Shakur seems to be more fit and active though, if you’ll see his previous matches his aggressiveness is there and a deadly punches are there as well. Who ever wins here will face another big challenge on their next match either with Haney or Loma, so better for them to do their best on this match.

Not sure if there is pressure on Shakur, yeah, he needs to win this fight because it will be in hometown, but he will be facing a somewhat unknown boxer from Japan. I'm not saying that Yoshino is not going to win, but basing on the experience alone of Shakur and Yoshino not exposed, it might be very hard for him to win in US, in my opinion. Yes, whoever wins here, is assured to face the winner of the Loma vs Haney fight. So this is in the mind of Shakur since he wanted to break into the picture and become a champion in another weight class.
Actually both are having 'noisy' names, there's just this barrier between local and international viewers. Yoshino quite had a good record for being undefeated in his local while Shakur is as well but with foreign fighters. This is where difficulty with bettors measure comes from. In general, the japanese boxer's statistics would be somehow set aside since international record is believed to be having a bigger weight not only in sports industry. But this is boxing we are talking about and anything could happen once both fighters starts in the middle of the square. Both has their own trainings and tactics to win over their opponent. So what's more likely to happen , and as we can see in this topic, Shuichiro is just the underdog in this match.
I'm not seeing it as a difficult though, for sure it's easy for bookies to make Shakur their favorite even if the Japanese is also a champion. It's been gauge on their experience and again, Yoshino might be good in Asia but the centerpiece of boxing is in the US.

Underdog means that you are treated to have low chance of winning.

And even in this community, we all know that Shakur will likely take this W.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 09, 2023, 11:55:29 AM
Holy shit! I’m hearing about the Durant news and this is crazy. The Nets traded him for basically nothing! This has got to be a rent a Durant situation. When Booker comes back this team might be the best in the league. If Ayton can play like he’s capable of they should win it all this year. I can’t believe what a steal the Suns just pulled off. Gonna have to grab myself some tickets.

They want to take advantage of their current situation this season because there are possibilities that they will gonna be knocked out again if they don't add some star players to their team. Currently, they are number 6 and if they gonna get well with KD in their rosters, they will gonna improve it more since they are now having more players that are capable of helping them get to the NBA finals again.

Any team who will get Durant will surely become a championship team. Durant is one of the best players in the NBA now, he could be number 1 if he was healthy, unfortunately, he is prone to injury now. However, if he gets traded with the Suns, I think Durant will not have to carry all the burden as he has Booker who is also a scoring machine, which he can rely on.

Still all matter depends on his teammates since they didn't work together with his old star teammates. They have Irving and Harden way back then plus Simmons has been added but it end up not good because his star teammates became liability to them since they are not cooperating as a team. But since he is paired up now with Booker and CP3 maybe this will be different since CP3 can have two option to pass the ball since he have best shooters in team to rely on.

Maybe  CP3 will have his chance in winning the title now, KD is a legit scorer and with Booker and the rest of the team.

They can now match up to those super teams who got multiple superstars. But just like what you mentioned , it will be depend  with how his teammates will play with him and how they will execute the system  that will be fit for him under the Suns uniform
Yes, this will be his last chance to win a ring before retiring and become a HOF.

This is really big for the Suns to get KD with Booker. They didn't put a damage on their first five, Ayton will still be there and so CP3. So that is a solid starting five for them. And again, we can go back to Ja Morant's statement, he is fine in the West, Lol, KD is now on their conference again. So he need to worry a lot of teams from the West now.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 09, 2023, 11:25:41 AM
it is not a strategy at all mate because you are only following other strategy , and this is too risky for small bettors because not like those biggies? they can afford recovering but what about lowbies? i don't recommend this to be my act in gambling instead I will rely in my own luck and judgement .
High roller's bet doesn't always correct too, trusting his prediction because of the money he was bet isn't a good decision. At least he need to explain why he bet that and his analysis, so it's make more sense to follow him.

Yes, it's not always correct, even at the odds that they are betting, it's not an assurance that they will win. But the thing with them is that they have big pockets so money is not problem for them betting with smaller odds but with millions worth.

But I'm mostly bet using my own luck and judgement too because if I predict wrong team/fighter, I wouldn't blame myself if I lose because the bet was created because of me, not from someone or stranger's mind.

For us that is the best strategy, not looking at others bet and try our own luck and gamble with the thought that we might win big and not rely on others by trailing them even if they are called whales or high rollers.
1410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does regulation affect the future of cryptocurrency? on: February 09, 2023, 11:13:54 AM
We already have regulations in place already,

- KYC
- certain amounts of crypto that allow you to transfer

So I guess there are cons and pros on it. Although it totally defeat the purpose of crypto being a psuedo anonymous, know every services is mandated to do KYC, either exchanges or crypto gambling sites.

On the other hand, it could be could as to prevent criminals from using crypto and hide their wealth and launder their dirty money.
1411  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Btc get to $12k or $10k on: February 08, 2023, 11:55:13 AM
My take: BTC will be somewhere between $500 and $1,000,000 at the end of the year.

Source: trust me bro

You're fooling the OP. Later on, if that happens, you're saying, you're going to cry a lot when bitcoin drops 500$, hehe.
And obviously, there are sarcasm on that post,  Grin

But seriously, it doesn't matter if we should expect it to fall by 12k$ or increase by 1M$ each bitcoin. Because the important thing is now, if you believe that bitcoin will be 100k$ and above, you should start saving bitcoin now based on the budget that each of us has here. Cheesy Grin
I guess everyone has some price in mind, but for sure majority doesn't like the price to go lower because their portfolio's worth is also going down. On the contrary, we can't never tell where the price will be.

So it's just better since the halving is still very far to just continue to accumulation, so if it goes to $1 million then good, we will all be crypto millionaire.  Grin
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ultron AI is born on: February 08, 2023, 11:37:17 AM
Welcome to Ultron AI!
The first token to implement AI into a blockchain. The purpose of utilizing artificial intelligence is to attempt to solve the challenges of the current blockchain which includes reliability, security and efficiency. Ultron serves to provide solutions for each of the above through its utilities which include a blockchain, swap, scanner and AI deployer.

I don't want to sound rude, but this kinda looks like just another project that is hopping on the current hype train in order to use it's momentum to attract a few buyers. We already had this happening hundreds of times back in 2020 and 2021 when suddenly there were dozens of new play-2-earn and metaverse projects appearing each and every day. From those projects 99% are already dead again. So i am pretty sure, that this project as also created after all the hype about ChatGPT started.
As others already said, the whitepaper is very shallow and is not explaining anything and looks like it was written withing 10 minutes or so.

Hey Jack,

I understand your concern that incorporating "AI" can be perceived as jumping on the hype train.

However, its important to understand that the branding and naming of any project in crypto plays as big of a role as the utility being created. We have had the utility in mind for quite a while now and we came to light that AI is the trend and can solve many problems in todays world. The naming and branding had to be done in a appealing manner where new members and investors can connect with. You can have the best utility in the world but if you brand it off-trend then it goes only a short distance.

We have received a lot of feedback regarding the whitepaper and will be updating it with more detail in the coming days.

Thanks
Yes, we understand that naming and branding is very important, but of all the names that you can think of? you have to name your project as Ultron? no offense.

As for the whitepaper, I guess it's better if you are going to released when everything is final, yes there could be revisions, but investors are going to look at your whitepaper and dissect everything, so at least it should be near 100%, just saying.

Good luck though on your project, there is not doubt that AI is the new hype.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: February 08, 2023, 11:03:20 AM
I didn't know that this fight was already canceled. Yes, might as well open a new thread with the specific fight to avoid confusion. I thought we are going to witness this fight in less than a week now, but it's okay because we are still gonna see a good fight. Good for Tim Tszyu, he will keep his undefeated record as most likely if they will fight with Jermell Charlo, he might lose.
It's fine to continue in this thread, @OP just need to revise his thread to "Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023"

I think Tony Harrison's prime already passed, he haven't knock out any boxer in the last 4 years which proving he doesn't have a same power like before. Tim Tszyu on other hand is a strong contender, he have a chance to beat Charlo even it will going very close and the judge might favor on Charlo or make it a draw.

Currently the bookie only list moneyline betting option, Tim Tszyu is a favorited with 1.40x odds while Tony Harrison is an underdog with 2.80x odds.

I have updated the title of the thread to reflect the changes, thanks.

The odds doesn't change a bit,  Tim Tszyu 1.39,  Tony Harrison 2.75.

I think still a good match for Tim here as a interim fight while waiting for Charlo. Hopefully as per the odds, there will be no upset that is going to happen. Another interesting plot is that I read that Spence is willing to bet that Harrison will beat Tim in this fight. Perhaps he see Tim as being a hard fight for him in the future since his next plan fight for Thurman is supposedly at 154 lbs.

Obviously, they just inserted the title as 'interim' in this fight. So Tszyu will still have to win this fight against Harrison to be able to get a shot against the regular champion in Charlo.

The odds is not that far though, meaning the chances are not that slim. Not sure why Spence think that way, maybe he and Harrison is close that's why he sided with the American. But the fight is going to be in Australia, so Harrison be ready for the hostile crowd in this fight.
Yes, the odds is closer, and maybe the book makers acknowledge that Tony Harrison win against Charlo for having that odds for him and for Tim. So we will se how close the fight will be. As you have said, the fight is in Australia so I think the memory of Pacquiao vs Horn is still fresh on us wherein we think that Manny was robbed because the fight happens on Australia. And although we have seen Kambosos losing his title in homesoil, it was a complete domination by Haney. So in this case if the fight is close and goes to distance and to the judges, who knows, just saying.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 10:47:45 AM
I never stop or quit gambling, maybe there was a time because I don't have a job so my save money is for my family, to bring food in the table. But once I got a stable job again, 9-5 and earning decent, then I slowly comeback to gamble.

But it's just betting on some sports and then slots as well. But I'm not that addicted, I can go on for months not wanting to gamble because I set my priorities. However, there could be individual who are totally addicted and can't simply stop.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 08, 2023, 01:05:07 AM
Nic is stepping up, Simmons? nah, I don't see him becoming the same player as he was with the Sixers. Cam Thomas is a young players so he has the potential to become a Booker or Tatum like player, can impact a team if he continue like this. Nic has been with Irving and KD and has been improving every year. And if I'm not mistaken, he has up his blocks, so he might be a good candidate for DPOY in my opinion.

Let's wait for KD to comeback, maybe him and Thomas could have a good chemistry. He might be the mentor for him and KD might enjoy this new role of his, let's see.
Ben Simmons is still young, there's a big room for improvement but he must work hard if he wants to be one of the best players in the league. I don't see that yet. He just played hard against the 76ers weeks ago to prove something but after that, there's no way I could see him making triple-doubles again.
If ever he want to continue that point-forward position then maybe he should try to learn to do things like the Joker and Lebron James.
Probably it's just him playing against his former team, and we all know that players wanted to perform better against their ex-team mates. There are moments when he got Embiid if I'm not mistaken.

But after that, he had games with 0 points to boot and then he sits out.

Cam Thomas on the other hand has the shooter's stroke, this is not the first that he had this scoring madness. Back against Indiana he made 33 points and most of it came from a 2-pointer, he only made 3 distance shots in that game.
I think a bright future is smiling at him if he continues this scoring streak. (given the minutes)
I really like this kid though, not that the limelight is on him, hopefully he will not melt under pressure with that two game with 40 or more points and then having that distinction with a young Lebron James doing that feat before.
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: As mining is no longer profitable... on: February 07, 2023, 04:13:50 PM
As mining is no longer profitable won't the POW algorithms go to shit? They'd be at a real risk of 51% attacks for some coins.

The whole POW Model needs the network to be very busy just for security and to function

It reminds me of when NXT got released and BTC miners worked out it was more profitable cracking NXT loggings then mining coins themselves lol
It might be as profitable when crypto mining started, but I'm sure there are still miners around the globe, otherwise most of the small altcoins are going to be dead by now. And with that, profits are still going to be made, no matter what.

So I try to look at which altcoins are still making money for miners, and surprisingly, there are still some,

https://whattomine.com/

There are some making 100%++ in 7 days or so. Of course, this might not be accurate, but at least you can gauge it.
1417  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: February 07, 2023, 11:10:43 AM
Bitcoin consolidation is going to complete soon.
Next target appears at $25,000 soon.

Look at the price now and the graph , Bitcoin is going up and up as days goes by so how would we need to deny that fact ?

25k is just 1k to go and looking at it today? maybe tomorrow or the next day? bitcoin will be at 25k.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

Bitcoin is getting brighter because today it is up more than 3% and the current price position is around $23800, there is no doubt that 2023 is a year of recovery or maybe it can make new ATH again even though it sounds impossible at the moment, but we must be optimistic that bitcoin can continue to skyrocket if nothing major problems occur such as the bankruptcy of exchanges.
But again down to 22k , so I hate seeing this kind of movement that there are no consistency and no permanent action while we are all expecting at to at least breaking 25k(in which I waited for last 2 weeks)
if this not compose to take 25k in February ? then maybe we will not be having this in the whole quarter.

Yeah, we are down to the highs of $22k, but it's weird, this movement is not the same as what we have seen in this mini bull run that we have.

We just had minor corrections, but this is like $24k=>$22k, it should be like $24k->$23k maintain that level for the next couple of days and then go back to $24k and try to attempt $25k. It seems though that the buyers are now exhausted that's why we have a correction to $22k right now.

It's just the start of the week though, so let's see if we can go back to $23k->$23.5. That will be a good basis if we are going to continue with the run and hit at least $25k this February.
It's been capping at $23k at least in the last 4 hour time frame. So there are no more corrections to the lowest $22k and I think it's a good sign and buyers are not exhausted, maybe they just take a rest and then resuming right now.

Also if you are going to look at the mempool, it seems that it is clogged, meaning there are a lot of tradings that might be going on behind right now. And that is the why the price keep on fluctuating to $23k. But we wanted to see the price at least $23,500. It should be the big test that we are looking, whether this bull run will continue and hit $25k or not.

Tony though might be a hard fight for Tim, nevertheless a good test for him as we all know that Harrison beat Charlo in their first fight. So this will defined if Tim has was it takes to really challenge Charlo.

But if we are going to talk about challenges next, year are a lot, Thurman and Spence is fighting at 154 lbs and maybe they will move up to the division. And then we also have the possibility of Bud Crawford as well. So the super welterweight will be another interesting weight class if this fighters decided to move up and shake the division.
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 07, 2023, 04:33:27 AM
In any case, it appears that this superfight might be cancelled because of a disagreement on the rematch clause. I reckon that it would be unfair for Ryan Garcia to not have a rematch clause if he loses the fight. What if King Ry loses only through a decision after a fight that is very close that can also be argued that King Ry won? I am shaking my head on this.

~snip~

See this is the ugly truth about these promoters thing, not only does the boxers have conflict of interest sometimes, but with the promoters, it makes things complicated. Well, business as usual.
In this situation, Ryan can always opt to just walk away and forget this match if the other camp insists what they want and still being the fans favorite that'll make money as huge as this match with another opponent. This is indeed somehow unfair for Ryan's camp.
Nevertheless, what the article says is accurate. Hope this will not going to turn out to a be Crawford-Spence 2.0 LOL!
I don't like the sounds of it, when we thought that everything is set in, now comes another snag, yeah, everyone wanted to get advantage of each other, and it just a testament how brutal his business is for boxers and promoters.

I agree that it is somewhat unfair for Ryan and it seems they are not giving him any options for this fight. And if this fight not going to happen, they are going to put all the blame for Ryan, so it's very tough and lose-lose situation for him.
1420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 07, 2023, 03:30:22 AM
Well, looks like Nets robbed Mavs with this trade. Kyrie was usually great but getting Dinwiddie plus Finney-Smith was an offer that couldn't be refused, not to mention a couple of future picks. The profitable side is obvious. I also don't know how Luka and Kyrie will share the ball, it doesn't look well taught move by Mavs management. Even after this trade, things are not absolutely clear for Nets though. Durant may go as well. Either way it's time to shine for Cam Thomas.
Indeed, they almost pulled a big upset on the Clippers tonight, Cam Thomas has a huge 47 point game performance again, he is in the elite of Nets players scoring back to back 40 plus points, including in that group? KD and Irving and Vince Carter.

So I guess it might be a robbery because Cam Thomas will emerge as now the second scoring option if KD comes back. And then they have Spencer again for another scoring option and of course, Finney-Smith might revived his role as the go to 3 point guy, besides Joe Harris and Curry.
