1461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 24, 2023, 07:03:27 PM
Some high scores in the NBA last night. The Bucks and Pistons scored a total 280 points with the Bucks winning 150 to 130. Then you had the trailblazers who put up 147 points in their 147-127 win over the Spurs. Seems like something was in the air last night. I can’t remember the last time I saw 280 points being scored in a regulation length game but it certainly doesn’t happen every day.
Yes, this season seems to be high scoring game at least in the regular games, you can see how fast the transition is, after the team make a basket, the other team rushes for an inbound and score.

But for sure when the playoff comes in, it will be very different as it favor more defensive teams and low scoring game.

And probably this is good for bettors too, I mean just go bet on the over and hopefully both teams waxes hot.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 24, 2023, 06:32:48 PM

And since the fight is lock now, it's time for David to show what he is capable of against Caleb.

Maybe after he won, and calls out Alvarez, we shall see if Canelo will fight him next or go to an easy tune up fight against John Ryder.

Canelo is not that kind of a fighter, he would not go on a easy route, in fact, he tried to move up in weight and fight a champion, so I'm expecting that he will use his time very well and that being said, he will fight the winner of this bout.

Canelo is knows the value of his name, and the route that he will go probably if where the money at, we all know this man
and he's always getting huge portions of the money.

But I'm expecting him to give the winner a chance and face him, a good way to defend his belt and make him still the top fighter from this division.

Waiting for the winner of this fight and see if what will be the next update.

That's what I thought as well, Canelo is going to fight the winner which I think will be Benavidez. And this fight is more exciting to watch as we haven't seen them fight before, unlike Canelo fighting Plant which we already saw how he dismantled him in round 11 when they met.

Benavidez should do his best to win this match though it will be a tough and challenging match for him to face plant. He must show off his real strength so he could possibly face Canelo in the future. I believe that Benavidez still has a lot to prove so it will be a good chance for him to showcase his real capability in the ring. It will be an exciting match and I hope this would happen early this year.

David already got skills and I trust that his prowess can take him up to a much higher league where he can own either one of the 4 belts or even became the new undisputed, although, saying this is quite premature for now as he's still up for a tough challenge where he has to beat Caleb Plant. He indeed got to impress the whole boxing industry in this fight because Plant will be his ticket to lock a fight with Canelo.
That could be his main goal here, at least get 1 belt and then fight Canelo in the future (assuming Canelo is willing). David Benavidez is very young and has talent, so it's promising to see this kind of fighter trying to challenge Canelo in his division.

Plant is no pushover himself, but I guess he is just a over hype fighter when he face Canelo back then because we thought that he has a good chance against Canelo. But he was broken down. So this might be the case here, when he feel the power of Benavidez, he might broke down as well and maybe David will go for a knockout win.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: January 24, 2023, 06:16:42 PM

Why is the WBC making these two fight when according to the WBC ranking Donaire and Casimnero are the next on the top. These two should be the first to have the chance to take the vacant position. Moloney had not gone far compare to the Donaire. Although Donaire is weary, he can defeat Moloney in a few rounds judging by his last fight against Inoue.
Casimero has move up to 122 lbs already mate if you are not aware of it. He just had a fight last December against Akaho, that's why he is not interested at 118 already.

Hopefully this fight can be 'force' by this body and let the fight happen.

They are the #1 and #2 in the rankings, so there should be no barrier making this fight, unless Arum doesn't want to work it out with Inoue's camp because he has his own reasons.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 23, 2023, 11:30:53 AM
Great day and great win for the Lakers. Who else taught the game was over at the half? and when the Lakers was down by 25 at one point of the game? Dangg! Do the Lakers need to be rebuilt? or they just need more time to stick together as a team?
Coz I can see a lot of underrated guys, especially on the defensive end, like Pat Bev and Schroder. Westbrook was also silent even without filling the stat sheet, but the impact his making while on the floor is actually underrated. T. Bryant on the other hand is quite working on improving and making himself more valuable in the absence of AD.

Schroder was a huge addition to the team, he was just new but he was already vital for the team. This man has now  a chance to be offered a decent contract again and hopefully this team he will not refuse it. The run of the Lakers now are good, despite not having AD, they are still winning games.

Lakers are now rank number 12, but they can be in the top 8 if Davis will come back and they'll improve as  team.
Yes, it was a huge win by the Lakers against Portland, Trailblazers took a big lead 25 points, but then they were outscored in just one quarter, in the 3rd, by 20 points.

After that, you can smell the Lakers wanting to get this win, Bryant has as huge game and so is Dennis Schroder hitting those big 3's in the 4th quarter. And Pat has that one steal against Dame pushing the Lakers as well. They will just have to play with this kind of intensity regardless if it is a home or away and then wait for AD to make a comeback.
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 21, 2023, 12:22:40 AM
He is wise indeed! But I'm really curious if the Los Angeles Lakers will be the end of his road and will be the team to officially retire his jersey because at the back of my mind, I'm also thinking that he might choose to retire with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where his home team is and where he get drafted. Anyway, we still have a few more years to enjoy LeBron James greatness, so let's cherish it while he's still active and hopefully he can add one more ring.
I confess that this is one of the questions I would most like to know, this can even be considered a mystery lol

What I and some friends of mine speculate is that LeBron James will return to the Cavaliers, Bronny will be drafted to the Cavs and for the first time in NBA history, son and father will play together on the same team.
And after that feat happens, LeBron James will retire for the Cavs.

I know that LJ's contentment in the Lakers is not the best, including the bad performance of the team, I have no doubt that this could be a factor for him to leave the Lakers soon, now, if the chemistry between the players improves, AD is 100% healthy, and Wesbrook's performance improves, I believe LJ will be able to stay longer in LAL.

Of course, everything I've said is mere speculation on my part, but I have no doubt that it could happen....

On both sides, the chances are possible LeBron can part ways with the Lakers and choose to play with the Cavs if that's the destination of his son's Bronny, that is another record that will be added under his name.

But knowing the capabilities of Lakers, if ever that the chemistry will be converted to more winning
streak after AD's comeback, LeBron can extend his stay and let the Lakers draft his son and play together
under the same jersey.

We still don't know where his son is going to play, what the rumor that we have been hearing and it seems to be true, that Lebron is going to play still and wait for his son to be drafted in the NBA so that they can make another record of father and son.

And who knows, maybe his son will be traded to the Lakers just to make his wishes come true.

There are a lot of scenarios right now, but we will have to wait. First Lebron will have to break Abdul-Jabbar's record this season, that's his motivation for sure.

I will choose 1. Casino A:

I'm a sucker for casino slots, table card games, dice, craps, and roulette. I'm not that familiar with PVP games although I heard about it but I'm not that interested. And I do agree that these kind of games are not going to be sustainable for casinos as players might be few and individuals are easy to get bored unless a new PVP games comes along, this kind of games might lost the interest of the players very quickly.
1467  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Visible is your trading plan on: January 20, 2023, 05:44:50 AM
Maybe in the beginning, when I was a newbie, or just starting out, I usually write my trading and then go back and see where I got it wrong or where it went right for me. But as I have matured and gain experience, I barely write it down now, maybe I'm not that huge a trader as before as I just continue to buy and do DCA for my crypto investment.

But yeah, I would say that it might be better to jot it down so that you can have something to go back to see and then make some crazy adjustments so that you can have the 'perfect' strategy.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: January 20, 2023, 05:17:53 AM

Inoue just announced vacating the bantamweight then instantly got a match with Fulton. This isn't a final date yet so maybe the venue can also change later, it's not to Fulton's advantage to fight in Japan.

According to one tweet Fulton already suggested they fight at 126. This is to put Inoue at a disadvantage while Inoue goes fighting without tuneup at 122. That's the first image I saw Inoue smiling by the way, looks like a K-pop singer.
And I thought that Fulton will have a fight this coming January if I'm not mistaken?

Anyhow, let's see how it goes, of course, we can't wait for the biggest puncher right now in Inoue to be in the ring again and makes another history of being undisputed at 122 lbs. This is his first step, against Fulton and I will agree that he could be the next victim of the Monster.

Inoue needs to grow His career Up and he will not have it if not taking one step forward , he had been dominating the Bantamweight division for years and I think he becomes boring not having a best opponent so this is the best move to challenge His skills and capacity, though Fulton is really strong and skillful , yet Naoya is his best opponent for this title match.
He has nothing to accomplished in 118 lbs, he has all the belts and clean up the division, beating the likes of Nonito Donaire in the process. So it make sense for him to move up and again unify all the belts in super bantamweight because it will be history.

^

Yea unbelievable by Murray, that was a 5 hour 45 minute match, a bit of a marathon really.
Murray's next match against Roberto Bautista Agut has to be compromised now for sure,
how much does he have left? is a big question.

Did anyone pick up any decent odds on Djokovic today after he dropped the second set
tie break against Couacaud today?

On the WTA side Ons got beaten today by Vondrousova kind of easy enough, 6-1, 5-7, 6-1
Betting on the women's side really is tricky.

I've been following this game for a long time. It was still a miracle that Djokovic lost the 2nd set, as he also led 5-4 in the Tiebreak, but then lost 2 serves in a row. If you want to know the odds when it was 1-1 in sets, I think you would get something around 1.1 for a Djokovic win. That's all it will be. From that moment on, Djokovic was very strong again and he only lost 2 more games. the 7-6 tiebreak thus seemed to be something of an incident. There are a lot of parties going on every day. I also read that a number of matches had been moved due to rain. I always thought it was sunny there and great tennis weather? No Wimbledon rain anyway.

Well we are used to Djokovic losing one set at grand slams in the first couple of rounds. He always losses one set them dominates the opponents. Djokovic lost the second set then destroyed his opponent but what is worring is that he has that injury and hopefully it wont slow him down. Next match against Dimitrov will be intense.
Yes, and we have also discussed i Djokovic is doing it intentionally, I mean losing a set in GS and then totally destroyed his opponents in the next couple of rounds. I think that's more destroying your opponent mentally that's why they were not able to recover after that.

Dmitrov will be a tough match for Djokovic is he is injured. And even if he won this and advance, he will have to find a way to overcome it.
1470  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: January 20, 2023, 04:01:36 AM
I am strongly in favour of desktop applications or even web based, as I think that phones are usually to small and I do not really trust much the apps, but there seems to be many people who would rather use their phone. Is that because they do not have access to a desktop computer? It may also be a regional issue, the same as people that do not use a browser?
Same here, maybe we are both old school, I still prefer to do anything with my desktop or laptop, even trading. Maybe it was the convenience of the big screen as compare to mobile phone wherein you can't really feel and enjoy if you are playing slots games.

I have nothing against those who love their mobile phones, but it's a big disadvantage for some of us here and still prefer our desktop.
1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Genesis Bankrupt, Impact on BTC? on: January 19, 2023, 04:09:50 AM
According to a report made by cointelegraph a few hrs ago, Genesis (a cryptocurrency lending firm) is about to file for bankruptcy as early as the upcoming week.
What would be the impact on bitcoin's price? Should we be worried and sell a part of our portfolio to buy back a bit lower after the news ? Or better hodl?
Eager to know what most of the ppl think.
Personally I didnt use genesis ever myself Tongue
Nah, I think it's better to just continue to hodl and accumulate, although the price goes on a bit of correction from $21,500 to $20,600-$20,700, I don't see it as the main reason for this minor correction.

It could be that $21k is the barrier that we need to break again and maintain.

We know that the market reacts to negative news, but I don't think this is as big as the FTX collapse, as you have said, you didn't used genesis and I think majority here as well.
1472  Economy / Speculation / Re: January bitcoin price out look on: January 19, 2023, 03:50:57 AM
We are halfway into January and we are still around 20k Bitcoin price we may have a very slow growth in this period and since we are already above 20k the only time we can expect to end the month at a 25k price of we should be climbing up to around 22k before this week end.
some speculators are already predicting a further pull back since the price have dropped below the 21k within the last 24 hours.

But if tge price of Bitcoin can really recover up to 22k in thos months only then we can expect to see a significant bull come back with a lot of recoveries to do in the coming month if all things keep being equal and on a positive appetite.

The highest we have in recent days is 21.5k which means the distance to reach 22k is not too far, so if it can reach 22k, there is no guarantee there will be a rally in significant prices occur. I still suspect that what's going on is more of a trap than a real bull run, even though many people argue that no one can manipulate the market for such a long time (we've rallied over 7 past days). Bitcoin has dropped in the last 24 hours because of some bad news, but in my opinion, bitcoin will still rise again to complete the trap.
Yes, we also did touch $22k, but it seems there are a slight sell off -2% in the last 24 hours, so we are back into the $20,700 range. That's why quickly it gets liquidated, and we are still way below $1 trillion total marketcap.

Hopefully this setback is just temporary, we wanted to see if we can attempt at $22k and solidify around that price and perhaps if the market sentiments continue to be positive, then maybe not just $22k but maybe in the range of $25k could be the target next.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 19, 2023, 03:05:24 AM

Finally, we don't need to worry anymore that this fight was only pure hype. Now, it is already official as they already signed a contract, so let's all be excited for one of the biggest fight this year. Maybe they are starting to train now, getting in shape, and hoping they'll be 100% in the actual fight.

I'm looking at the poll result now, there's more voters favored Davis to win, well, I'm on the other side.  Smiley

I consider this a legacy fight between the two fighters, before this coming fight there are no boxers on each other resume that match the power and skill of both fighters, hopefully, this will be the start of a blockbuster year in boxing, where undefeated champions with equal skills fight each other regardless of their promotions.
This fight will not happen if Mayweather is still the manager of Tank, he did the right thing in getting rid of Mayweather who just wants to milk Tank by fighting low-level fighters.
I agree, whoever wins here could cement his name in the pound for pound list. Ryan Garcia has been calling for Tank many years ago because he knows that it will defend his legacy so here we are right now.

Most probably Floyd will not allow Tank to fight Ryan yet if he is still promoting Davis.

He is his cash cow, so he doesn't want to take that risk, but fortunately, Davis decided to go solo now and we are having this mega fight.
1474  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: January 19, 2023, 02:18:49 AM
https://nypost.com/2023/01/15/gambler-loses-massive-1-4-million-bet-on-chargers-jaguars-game/
Quote
One bettor wasted a massive $1.4 million wager after betting on Los Angeles before the Jaguars mounted an epic comeback to beat the Chargers 31-30, according to Action Network’s Darren Rovell.

It seems that a gambler has loss this massive amount (1.4 million USD) playing a bet with an odds lower than 1.01! (exactly 1.008)

I think there are several lessons here:
- there is not easy bet! even lower odds there is always a risk.
- it's really risky playing an huge amount. This not helps gambler because the risk is much much higher then rewards!
- gambling is not easy at all! it's really hard achieve a profit even for easy games!

what your opinion about this gambling issue? did you had experience similar experience? how a good gambler should avoid such mistakes?
Yeah, there are no safe bet even with that odds, there are still a chance for someone or some team to overcome that odds and this is one classic example. The risk is there, but I think this is a season gambler and he knows what his doing. It's that the luck is not on his side or with the Los Angeles bet on him.

And for us just average gamblers, sometimes it's really worth to bet on the underdog, maybe we will win and could it be a windfall for us.

This is gambling though, when you thought that you can go sleep and thinking that when you wake up, you will have a win, then suddenly the wind changes the course of your luck, Ouch!.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How real is the winnings? on: January 19, 2023, 01:24:32 AM

It is without a shock these days that when one downloads apps to explore, like game apps; features or tasks that can earn one some coins or diamonds, or candy come with real earning prospect. If one could successful convert such earns from these games or other apps, these monies could be used to get gift cards or could be withdrawn in some instances.

Is it okay for one to just go ahead and tryout any or all of these apps with their crypto coins or cash not minding scammers or hackers or exposing oneself to information theft?
For most cases where the earnings cannot be converted, but purchases could be made with bank cards, to fund them, what is best adviced?
How real are some of these winnings/earnings, incase anyone has had luck cashing their gaming/other apps wins to real cash/gift item?
Of course, we should mind what we have to download everything, not just games that supposedly gave us winning because as you have said, scammers and hackers are everywhere.

On the contrary, why not stay away from it? I mean how much are you going to win? I think it's not that big and not worth to try it because you might compromised your mobile phone or your computer, just saying. I used to download this kind of apps way before there is crypto, like ptc and others, I I would say that the pay is so small that its not worth your time.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to profit from altcoins collapses? on: January 18, 2023, 11:06:33 AM
In summary: I haven't found any viable strategy to profit from altcoins collapses except avoiding them. Not sure how about the strategy of competing with an own altcoin which attracts suckers from other ones (for example BNB currently, FTT in the past).
The only thing that you can do right now with the altcoin collapse is to buy them while they are cheap? We are not talking about meme and shitcoin, but solid coins like BNB that you mentioned.

I mean our strategy should also satisfy another condition, that is to buy them right now and then hold or at least wait for the next bull run.

20224-2025 is the most likely year that we will see another explosive growth, so you need to have a lot of patience to be a long term holder, at least a year or two.
1477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom of the Bear Market...let's accumulate!! on: January 18, 2023, 10:48:28 AM
I am very happy to see Bitcoin back and alive after all these months. But I am not sure time comes to start accumulating. There may be another trap after this move. Like sudden temporary drop. I am still waiting for that opportunity buy at least 0.5 Bitcoin. I think we won't hit under 10000 dollar levels for sure tho. I guess resistance around 12-17k levels is too strong. Its so strong and bear can't ever break it. So I actually half agree with OP, accumulating windows just started but for the best price I wanna wait.
I think the resistance now is $21k, it seems that eventhough we have broken it, there are a couple of times in the last couple of days that we can't break it or it's hard to maintain that price.

But I do believed that we won't hit $10k as predicted by many before the start of the year.

Because the good thing is that the price suddenly goes on spike, but still though the best time to accumulate because we are still in the $20k'ish price. It's not that we suddenly went from $15k lowest low to $30k, the window is still present for us.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 18, 2023, 02:31:32 AM
Either way, the Lakers should call a timeout and nothing else. That was around 10 secs. left and lots of time to make a good play.
The Lakers are down by 1 and no one from the coaching staff even advises their players to call a timeout. They blew that opportunity and chances to win the game. I don't know why they thought that time and didn't decide to call a timeout.
I want the close game though that both teams managed to perform where there are lots of exchange of score leads happened.
Maybe that is due to the inexperience of the coach and his staff. But Lebron was also in the court, he could have called the time out himself since he is the most veteran player in there. Anyway, if they called a time out, they can set up an offense but the defense of Philly will also set up. Maxey and other defenders will be on court and it may be harder to execute.
Now, I really doubt the capabilities of the Lakers coaching staff. It is not yet playoffs and they are not able to make the proper calls already. That is too bad.

It seems as though the coaching staff of the Lakers has no idea what they are supposed to be doing. There are times when you look at the coaches and wonder what they are thinking. They are able to make decisions and feel as if they have a plan in place. However, that is not the case with the Los Angeles Lakers. In my opinion, the coaching staff of the Lakers looks like they are just doing things and hoping for the best.

Well, that's what you and the others thought. We all have criticized coaches and players for every mistakes they have done in their career, but remember, they are always better than us. Plans and plays doesn't work every time. We can't just say, the coaching staff has no idea of what needs to be done. They actually do, they're only making bad decisions, especially when it did not work.
The Lakers may not be easy to coach, because of LeBron presence. He is the kind of player who have a huge influence in the whole management. So, that's not gonna be easy for the head coach to handle.
I don't think that Lebron is hard to coach, I mean he has been with several teams already, winning rings, so it's not about the coaches, it's probably his team mates around that could make or break him. Although it could be intimidated to coach him because of his superstar status, but I think Lebron is not that hard headed and he respects his coach who ever it is on the current team that he is in. And speaking of Lebron, big games for him again, but this time they got the win, 48 points and almost put a triple double.

I agree with you that I don't think Lebron is hard to coach either.  In fact, often when I see him taking coaching/directions on the sideline during timeouts and what not, he always seems to be quite intent on what's going on, always paying attention etc ( at least from what I've seen ), but, yeah it's going to take certain type of coach to be able to coach Lebron.  He's not going to allow just anyone coach him, that's for sure.
Yes, that's what I'm trying to say and we never him complaining about his coaches, even in the past, even if they are losing, he is not criticizing his coach and often times he take the blame.

But as we can see with Darvin Ham, he seems to be settled as well and very keen on playing high level basketball at his age. He is really looking to break that record this season and it's going to be historic in the NBA.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 18, 2023, 01:39:59 AM
It appears that Tank vs. King Ry will end very much similar to Crawford vs. Spence. They avoid each other because they are afraid that losing would affect their attractiveness to promoters and lower their demanding price during contract negotiations. This is very bad for the fans and very bad for the sport of boxing. The best boxers should be fighting against the other best boxers. Boxing's only chance for the greatest superfights on 2023 might only be from Naoya Inoue.

I don't know if both are being really protected by their promoters, or the boxers themselves are afraid to have their 0 gone. We've seen a lot of great boxers, who lost their 0 and yet still the cash cow, for instance Canelo Alvarez or even Manny Pacquaio. I think still boils down to money and the purse split and which network are going to carry this fight.

I agree, however, not all boxers can have similar careers as Canelo and Pacman and look at who Canelo and Pacman fought. Also, whatever happens Canelo and Pacman have become known names already. I reckon Tank and King Ry are not much known outside the world of boxing.

In any case, the skeptical me thinks that this ultimatum is Golden Boy's trick to withdraw from the deal. The reason, yes, I said it already. Golden Boy can make more money from Ryan Garcia with an undefeated record than with a loss in his record.

Yes, it could be a trick by Golden Boy to force Tank and his handlers for a sign deal. But they also have this experience as well, with Al Haymon at the top of it. So it's not as easy as it sound for Golden Boy to go into public and issue an ultimatum.

Let's see what the other party will do, for us there is not need to delay this fight again.

We want been hype with this one since last year and by now we should have at least some info as where the fight is going to be.

What Al Haymon? Did Tank Davis recently signed a contract under PBC? If so, that ultimatum that Golden Boy provided in his social media won't really work because we already know how Al Haymon works and Oscar might not want to provoke Al Haymon as his cow's preparation might be wasted because Tank's side might suddenly pull out.
You can interpret this link:

Quote
Davis’ remarks doubled down on the official communication around his upcoming bout with Garcia. The only reference made to promoters is to TGB Promotions, which promotes many of Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions events, and Davis’ own company, GTD Promotions.

https://www.boxingscene.com/gervonta-davis-confirms-hes-not-contractually-tied-mayweather-all-love-no-bad-blood--170957

So Al Haymon's name is still there in my opinion. So what happen to Oscar's ultimatum? it looks like the time has passed already?

Will this be another fight in jeopardy and we might not see this one as well like the Spence/Crawford fight?

A report shows that in China, they created 4 AI based robot which went rouge and killed people.
Sounds like some iRobot scene or out of some other sort of fictional movie.
Mind sharing a source?
Sorry, I was wrong about the information. It was in Japan. I will correct it. Here's the video link on YouTube
These are all just prediction. Don't take it so seriously. Just a thought in mind, how should the future play out. Theory of some sorts.
Well technically the last bitcoin could be mine around 2140, so maybe that time this kind of robot and whole AI will come to fruition that time?

And the only thing that bitcoin could be involved in the future is that it become the sole currency in the world. Everyone is using it as a medium and obviously, there are no paper currency or fiat, it's all digital and bitcoin at front.
