2361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difficulty of explaining Bitcoin to people is massive on: September 23, 2021, 08:26:56 PM

how curious is the person who ask the question?

if he just want to know how it works, you can just say BTC is just like a currency. you can buy things with it which we now consider a digital currency.  if it doesn't end there, the person is interested to learn but he will with just analogies you can comeup.
2362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen to the bitcoin price if adoption increased on a larger scale? on: September 23, 2021, 07:56:25 PM
where else will it go but up. the price today is due to adoption that BTC is becoming mainstream, its now often in the news. the more it becomes popular the more people see it as legitimate investment unlike before when all the news about BTC are all about scam. cryptocurrency is votatile so prices can extreme swing high to low.
2363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: September 23, 2021, 12:44:16 AM

although he has a record of 24-0. impressive but caballo is unknown. it must be a good opportunity for this man to battle against someone who's on top. this is another unfortunate event for casimero after the apology, he still didn't get the fight lol but how is this fight making donaire more money compare to donaire vs casimero or inoue?
2364  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help needed urgently on: September 22, 2021, 08:03:46 AM
that's definitely a scam. you are not the first.
it depends on how much had been scammed from you already but if i were you i would surely find out who they are if it's not something to ignore.
you might wanna lure them to give their information like you are sending via western union or so and ask for some information about them.
2365  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Pacquiao running for president, will you support him? on: September 21, 2021, 10:46:56 PM

2366  Economy / Speculation / Re: What cause Bitcoin to drop up to 42k$? on: September 21, 2021, 07:26:44 AM
Like the replies mention, many predict that this is a result of the Evergrande Crisis. However, having said this, Bitcoin market is very volatile and to a lot of extent immature. It needs a lot of time before it can come into maintstream. Until then you could expect it to crash like this. However, this might just be the right time to invest in Bitcoins since there is a dip right now.

that is what they are saying. evergrande was compared to Lehman Brothers collapse but it's no way near to that knowing that CCP could intervene to the company before it will ever happen. but this is evergrande collapse is likely done deliberately to bring markets down, the CCP didn't intervene. it's affecting investors and dragging the crypto market as well.

maybe they really need to cripple all markets just sanctioning everyone along with AUS.
2367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you determine which cryptos to buy during this dip? on: September 21, 2021, 06:57:50 AM

you will buy the cryptos you certainly believe would go up. for short-term investment just get BTC. nothing goes up faster than BTC. one altcoin that grow fast i saw in the past few months was SOL. i guess that's the one that you should have by now. it's not however sure if that will still be the case after this dip.

or the ethereum killers that the shills are saying. ADA isn't really dipping faster so you kind of expect that there will be lots of buyers of it because they did a smartcontract update just this month.
2368  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdraw and stop using Binance on: September 20, 2021, 10:24:08 PM
Would it make sense if CFTC and the Justice department (Of the United States of America) decide to shut down binance by seizing their servers there by affecting every customer around the world even in countries when Binance and derivatives trading is not banned?

It certainly wouldn't make a single sense. Maybe what could happen is that the owners of Binance could get arrested and charged but Binance would remain operational with stricter policies just like what happened in Bitmex.

well remember Meng Wanzhou arrested in Canada? not a single piece of evidence was shown but she was detained. of course, countries look at it as a political issue.  it could also happen to CZ, he has to avoid public planes now.  Grin

binance had been sued in every corner of the globe and authorities may have been seeking where exactly the location of their server. if i was the one to hide a server, it's definitely gonna be in China.
2369  Economy / Economics / Re: Future economic fear of the rich and poor. on: September 20, 2021, 10:06:52 PM
the rich will always have fear in every direction, they may even be walking in the rich cities but still looking over their shoulder because someone might rob them. this fear has to lead them to invest more to become richer. and more fear still because there's more to lose

the poor man will enjoy everything, he already has experienced the worse of his life. even if they eat just garlic porridge, they'd be laughing. what they both fear is the future of their children, it's not about them dying without a chance.
2370  Economy / Economics / Re: [LIST] Countries that own bitcoin on: September 20, 2021, 09:31:33 PM
I know it may seem early to make such a list, but I hope it will be filled up quickly in the coming years.
Today we have the first country to announce that it owns Bitcoin.
If you have information about other countries, add it below.

The list is far larger.

United states have already seized some bitcoins from criminal activities, which they own now. I think that it is also likely other countries are doing the same:

https://www.vox.com/recode/2021/7/30/22600574/cryptocurrency-bitcoin-ethereum-asset-seizure-crimes-bank-storage-password-department-of-justice

his week, a small platform for safekeeping cryptocurrency called Anchorage Digital announced it had won a contract from the Department of Justice to store and liquidate digital assets that federal law enforcement seizes following criminal investigations.

I also found this link from Investopedia, whcih mentions United States, Bulgaria, Sweden and North Korea as hoarding bitcoin.

Quote
Bulgaria
The Bulgarian government seized more than 200,000 bitcoins from the results of an organized crime crackdown in May 2017, according to reporting by CoinDesk. The sting resulted in the arrest of 23 Bulgarian nationals and the seizure of bitcoin valued at $3.3 billion at the time. As of late November 2017, the Bulgarian government declined to comment on what would happen with the seized digital currency, indicating that there was an ongoing criminal investigation.

Sweden
The Swedish government made digital currency headlines in the fall of 2017 when it decided to auction off some seized bitcoin as well. The value of the seized assets were significantly smaller than those in the Bulgarian incident, as the Swedish Kronofogden announced plans to sell just 0.6 BTC, worth about $3,200 at the time.

United States
The United States has also taken part in auctions of bitcoin holdings that were seized in criminal investigations. In late 2015, for instance, the U.S. Marshals Service auctioned more than 44,000 BTC which were seized from Silk Road operator Ross Ulbricht. This was the final in a series of auctions for a similar purpose.

North Korea
While the above governments have publicly auctioned bitcoin holdings that were seized from criminal activity, North Korea's government has shown some signs of actually collecting and hoarding BTC.

these are situations where the government seized BTC. they did not buy it but were taken by force because of criminal activity. it's still assets considered theirs now so yes they own coins. the Chinese government must have seized a lot of coins, it is not however reported though. but i suspect this country has confiscated more BTC.

El Salvador will be wealthier if they buy the dip every time, this is like Saylor's strategy.

2371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Continuously Loosing money in Trading!!!! on: September 20, 2021, 09:12:57 PM

3-4 years of trading experience should be enough for anyone to develop their own strategy. it could take just a year for someone to see patterns of how the market will react in any event because the market will always do what it does. it's always a cycle that when it goes up it always goes down just as if it's overbought, it will need to go down.

if i lose every time, i will definitely need a new indicator that will help me identify when i need to sell and buy. a combination of indicators will help.
2372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will Paraguay be the next to make Bitcoin ‘official currency’ on: September 19, 2021, 12:57:36 PM

one visible indication that the country is going in the same direction as El Salvador is if their president is as popular as Bukele and can execute his political will without having so much commotion from the opposition. if their president can't do that then he'll have to struggle if declaring BTC is also his plan. it would be good to see if it's him that initiates in introducing legislation to legalize Bitcoin.
2373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I helped 2 non-crypto people invest in bitcoin on: September 19, 2021, 06:46:57 AM
There are certain risks in investing in any cryptocurrency. When you help non-cryptographers to invest in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, you should tell them the risks. Everyone has the right to know their investment! I think the comprehensive introduction really helps the non-cryptographers!

maybe not a good idea if they are too newbies. you don't want them to go into the labyrinth of cryptocurrencies and then make them submit KYC yet. if they are just willing to hold, just tell them to hold or stake. congrats to OP, you will not be blamed if you just choose the good investment and make them hold.

but the uncle seem to be experienced in the stock market which he knew one could buy and sell. the uncle is the easier person to teach because he knows already what to do.
2374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Should be in Syllabus of Students? on: September 19, 2021, 06:31:35 AM

since this innovation is a life-changing technology, it is worth teaching blockchain and cryptocurrency as part of the economics class of everyone. actually, forex trading should have been taught to students back in the days, like the chart reading if the subject is all about investing. it only makes the teacher inexperienced if they don't teach something like this.

No i definitely dont agree with the fact that crypto must the syllabus for the students. it is just an additional burden on them. Yes in higher studies there can be some courses which student can go for.

not for all students but probably the ones interested. but if the school offers blockchain, most probably everyone will be interested.
2375  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Countries Where Bitcoin Is legal or banned. on: September 18, 2021, 02:49:20 PM

only a handful of them is totally baning BTC. that's a really good adoption rate after just a decade.

it's only Bolivia among the countries in South America that bans BTC and its reason is that BTC unregulated nature are the people in that country banned to look up the internet?  the countries surrounding them are already using cryptocurrency besides Bitcoin, their government will make them poorer.
2376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which exchange has the largest number of coins? on: September 18, 2021, 02:27:35 PM
I left crypto altogether and joined this year...was just checking my old posts here and found that cryptopia got hacked and closed....bittrex closed its door for people from Pakistan and whatnot...funny how rapidly things change in crypto Smiley

welcome back!
did they not notify or send an email to you informing you that they are closing doors to Pakistanis?
forget cryptopia, they are done. bittrex is still up and i think they are still airdropping coins to accounts. i still received an email from them even though it was more than years that i have not login to my account. surprisingly i got about 7ONT and some LTC in my balance. you must have some too.

i assume you have some coins left in the exchange too?

2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2022? on: September 18, 2021, 01:54:58 PM
50k for 2021 would be a win.

We already reach $50k and as high as $64k so it's already a win for us.

But I like your conservative prediction, Lol, but I know deep inside you wanted more,  Grin.

In any case, still a $100k price at the end of the year is still realistic based on some prediction model (I won't mentioned it, but for sure you have an idea as to what I'm talking about). But there are also arguments against it, so only time can tell if we can get to 6 digits this 2021.

I meant to end the year at 50k, or to spend most of the time above or near there like we are now. Of course deep inside I want more, who doesn't want Bitcoin to be even 1 million dollars? I don't have 1 BTC yet but trust me I will find it very hard not to sell everything if we get 1 million! It will be enough for me to not have a job for 20 years or at least keep a job and not worry about 20 years after retirement.

there is never enough for 20 years to live. you'd have to have more than 1BTC to live 20 years without working. $1M per BTC may feel like freedom but you can spend it all in less than a month if you can't control yourself.

$450K was forecasted by cathie woods in her interview on youtube, of course, this would really be too optimistic but we can not tell what will happen to the price overnight. these are just speculations, it could give you encouragement to wait if you are a holder. $100K for me by 2022 is fine.
2378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK customers can now buy Bitcoin through Paypal on: September 18, 2021, 12:35:59 PM

they are finally allowing other countries from EU, someday probably in months they will also allow Asian countries. the privileges they give to those who are dear to them.
the disadvantage is still there because like it's said below, they are still now allowing withdrawals. but keeping the fake coin in your paypal BTC address still can give you nice profitwhen the price reaches $100K.

It’s a great development, though Paypal in the UK still doesn’t allow its users to withdraw crypto out to their own personal crypto wallets. While this may allow more and more people to get a taste of crypto trading, letting them withdraw is another experience that people should have. I know that it’s already in the works, and that might mean yet another push for cryptocurrencies since Paypal needs to acquire crypto in order to fund user accounts for crypto withdrawals to be possible.
2379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish Bitcoin TA - Be careful everyone ... on: September 17, 2021, 11:23:12 PM

have no idea what OP's chart is as it's not candles. the chart is very deceiving, zooming in and out only made me confuse which way the market will be going weeks.
you know it's tether time when the market goes down. if you see it coming, don't ask anymore just sell for tether.
2380  Economy / Economics / Re: vitalik's contribution is also great on: September 17, 2021, 09:27:18 PM

Eth is his legacy in this world. no one will take it away from Vitalik just as no one will take Satoshis contribution. blockchain is the greatest invention so far that even governments are now struggling to take its power back to them so whoever contributes to make blockchain useful, they have their legacy.
