Jimbo, is u buying/pumping that sh*t??

No, I'm just holding as always. I'm still in Quintana Roo, Mexico and there's no real Bitcoin infrastructure here.

I do all my trading in cash, mostly OTC but occasionally at ATMs, anonymously in Toronto.

My dental work hit a snag when I found out one of my implants failed and rather than proceeding with only 15 implants I decided to get additional bone grafts and take an extra half year to try again with a stronger implant. No sense doing a half-assed job. I'm still getting my lower teeth installed now though. Just had a trial fitting yesterday and we're hoping to get the final Zirconia done next week.

As a result, I don't have to spend all the USD cash I brought down over the course of the winter to pay for my final teeth. What this means is that I won't have to sell any Bitcoin when I get back to Toronto to pay down my credit card and pay my bills. I might even have enough left over to buy some more Bitcoin. Hopefully by the time I have to buy more dollars next year, my bitcoins will be worth a lot more.

My Bitcoin strategy has always been to buy whenever possible, preferably on a dip, and sell only when absolutely necessary. Keep holding, keep getting richer as Bitcoin keeps getting scarcer, and live happily ever after. So far it's been working like a charm.

Buenos dias Bitcoinland.

The battle for $8k rages on... currently $7925USD/$10620CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

At least the dip down under $7.7 didn't last long. Bullish.

Go Bitcoin go.
2383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Taking profits but don't be afraid! on: May 19, 2019, 04:41:00 PM
You don't take profits by selling Bitcoin. You are taking your profits by buying Bitcoin.

Every dip is a chance to take profits by selling your dollars or other fiat currencies. Every time you invest your bitcoins by using them to buy dollars, you are risking them.

That of course is assuming any intelligent person would rather hold Bitcoin than mere fiat currencies.

All I can see about the price of bitcoin is $7910-$7940 on preev and on coinmarket cap its still traded over $8000 on many exchanges.

This is why I generally use Bitcoinaverage as my price reference. It averages the prices on the most exchanges worldwide weighted to volumes while excluding zero-fee exchanges. I see it as the most honest representation of real-world Bitcoin prices, far more accurate than any individual exchange.

It's also what the majority of actual BTC ATMs in Toronto use. That's real-world for me, actual bitcoins for banknotes.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Seems we're back to to battling for $8k... currently $7962USD/$10724CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

We're right back where we were before that dump-o-rama a couple of nights ago. 3.5kBTC on Stamp alone? Lots more elsewhere? Honey badger don't give a fuck.

I'm in Toronto today.
Couldn't find businesses that accept Bitcoin (I didn't expect to) but there are looots of Bitcoin ATMs here.
The only problem is the fees, they are very high.

You have to shop around. I've actually gotten negative fees on both buys and sells. Currently the best fees (average 4%) are at Goldium FX on Spadina near Dundas. It's an OTC operation, not an ATM, and is fully anonymous. The owner/president is a Bitcoin enthusiast.

The bears got out of their cave and are parading in the streets, drunk and screaming victory. Funny.

Other than that, yeah, this has not been unexpected dump/correction at all, quite on the contrary. A needed one I might add if we want to go according to the "moon" plan.

Yes we all expected a correction/retrace but this was a carefully executed move by a single entity.
2390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 17, 2019, 04:20:30 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're hanging in going sideways in the low $7xxx range after last nights shenanigans... currently $7162USD/$9640CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

That was quite the display last night. I checked the price at Stamp when my GF got up to go to the bano just in time to see the price start to plummet.

I was stunned to see a 3.5kBTC ask wall dropped in to prevent a rebound and then to see it moved progressively lower as the price fell further. As natural upward pressures ate at the wall it gradually reduced in size until it finally was moved down to $6.2k. At that point it appeared to be eaten and the price immediately rebounded to over $7k.

At that point I had to leave the PC and reassure my GF that I still loved her and that she was more important than mere money. I did point out that losing a small fortune in a few minutes was a little distracting but getting half of it back in a few more minutes was comforting.

I've been through a few of these moments before so I wasn't too freaked out. The April 2013 crash from $266 to $50 was a shocker at the time but I didn't panic and the crash & bounce from the Silk Road bust and the later ManBearWhale episode were positively elating.

Bitcoin is definitely not boring.

A gorgeous good morning Bitcoinland.

$8k is holding like a charm despite a nice correction and a couple of minor ones... currently $8055USD/$10845CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Hopefully we Canadians will never see quadruple digits again. More digits please!

Soon every WO may have quit their day job just to dedicate more time to Pumping it and celebrating on WO. If we are going into the new paradigm, it has to be a way of life, not a hobby Cheesy

Buenos dias Bitcoinland.

After yesterday's lovely correction it's nice to see we're back on track... currently $7742USD/$10410CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Slow and steady wins the race.

Go Bitcoin go.
2394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 12, 2019, 05:15:08 PM
Good AM Bitcoinland.

It seems $7k is offering much more resistance than the supposedly strong $6k. After breezing through $7k all the way past $7.5k it hit a wall and has corrected all the way back down under $6.9k... currently $6923USD/$9292CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

This correction is not only welcome but overdue. No one wants to see the price gallop away and explode. Let's keep a sustainable level of growth. It seems I was posting the same thing for much of 2017. It was when it ran rampant in December of that year that it led to the bubble and burst. It's so much better to have a sustained series of strong rises intermingled with sharp corrections.

Still, it was nice to see the price briefly hit 5 digits in CAD, especially for those who bought coins when the price was in double digits. Some day in the not too distant future when the price hits 6 digits, people who bought in triple digits will feel the same way.

Go Bitcoin go.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we soared all the way up close to $7k before a nice little retrace/consolidation to around $6.8k... currently $6806USD/$9130CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

How long before the CAD price hits 5 figures again?

Go Bitcoin go.

Ain’t nothing dumb about getting in early on bitcoin & making serious money

Yes. Getting in early and making serious money is fun.

You don't have to worry about the silly little ups and downs when the bottoms are 50 times what you got in for and the tops are measured tens of thousands of percents.

You can sit back relaxed and simply live happily ever after.

Thank you Bitcoin.
2397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 10, 2019, 04:49:59 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're continuing to soar... currently $6406USD/$8608CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

I thought $6k would present a little more resistance but it's starting to look like a done deal.

Go Bitcoin go.
2398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2019, 04:03:48 PM
Buenos dias Bitcoinland.

The battle for $6k continues... currently $6027USD/$8135CAD (Bitcoinaverage). This could take a while.

We'll all feel a lot better when we hit $7k.

Go Bitcoin go.
2399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2019, 01:07:45 AM
Nice to see $6k again.

I think I'll go around the corner for a margarita. The band should be starting soon.

How long before the inevitable correction/profit-taking?

I figure the battle for $6k ain't over yet but it's been a long time coming and I feel like celebrating.

At this rate we should be double the bottom soon.

Good afternoon Bitcoinland

Nice to see Bitcoin moving toward $6k... currently $5895USD/$7942CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Go Bitcoin go.

In light of @LFC's astonishing honey-badgeresque comeback from 3-0 down against a Barcelona team with the world's best player, I hereby declare Liverpool the official back-and-forth sportsball team of Bitcoin carnivores. Anyone who disagrees is a plant-eating nocoiner. #AllezAllezAllez

FTFY  Wink

I find back-and-forth games like hockey, soccer, and basketball to be rather boring. I prefer more cerebral sports like baseball and gridiron "foot"ball. I like a bit more strategy than "shoot or pass".

That said, I did enjoy yesterday's FIFA football game. We were sitting in a tourista restaurant in Playa del Carmen eating enchiladas when Liverpool scored their 3rd and 4th goals. Needless to say the whole place went nuts. The look on the Barcelona goalkeeper's face was priceless.

It seems the whole world was rooting for Liverpool. Even I found it exciting.
