260$ shipping fee  Shocked (shipping from Mars ?)

hey they still get there money and sold it for four digits. Don't know who they think they are fooling it don't cost that much to ship it .

what a joke Smiley.

but it's sold out now, maybe the A3 and A4 coming will  blow this a way.I all most bought one and i was going to deal with the power usages then shipping was over the edge.

What are these 'A3/A4' chips? Is there a spec, where do I order samples

I just read very little on the bitcoin from under this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985400.0  i think at the last two pages or so . not much said but A4 is script and A3 SHa256 . I really  haven't looked to much beyond that i know at first i can't afford it but if i wait a few months or so i can. but i also believe there is more in this thread to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1117069.0 Smiley. it's hear say why I didn't say any more then i did .

A2 prices are starting to come down more i notice so some thing is up . again I'm not really sure how true it is but it makes sense the way thing seem to be going price wise for the older stuff.

here is the actual word of the guy that said it  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985400.msg11962285#msg11962285  Smiley .

and this a real miner coming i believe that might be using those chips as well some one in that thead is tiring to find out more .

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1128816.40  again it is only hear say, i  should have said it a diff way, wasn't thinking when I said it, my bad.
2382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.6.1] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: July 27, 2015, 03:47:22 PM
So tried Bfgminer with gblade and BW connected on same Pi, it works but 15-20% HW  Roll Eyes so i return to previous conf, 1 Pi for each running cgminer. thanks.

I use one PI per miner , i look at it this way bit main does it all most all the DEV do it that way that make miners that come with it's own Controller . I dc if it has CG or BFG it just runs better to me one controller per miner unless it's like the tubes but you can use one per miner with them to and don't need the controller they offer to sell you . one PI will work just as good . PI don't cost much and are really a very sweet deal , one PC in one packages just supply the power and your golden.

Here is what my G-blade s at after 10 hours sorry forgot to Screen shot minera before i rebooted it by mistake .

[2015-07-27 17:53:00] 20s:28.05 avg:27.42 u:26.98 Mh/s | A:7562 R:25+0(.33%) HW:42/.55%

got that from the logging it doesn't wipe till a power off, i think . that's with BFG 5.2 and one PI Smiley .

i have all ways liked BFG more but i all ways root for the underdog and only reason i use cg at all, is right now that's all the s and c type series ants use but luke told me hes working on a bfg version for the s5, now that bitmain gave out the info needed to do it. nothing against CG miner either, its a very nice miner, i just like BFG more .
2383  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: OFFICIAL CGMINER mining software thread for linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 4.9.2 on: July 27, 2015, 04:47:15 AM
Hey could you add support for S5 like you did for s3? Roll Eyes Smiley Grin
Already working on it.

nice

I hope you actually fix it , so far you have once you do it . The new bitmain Firmware worked ok for me till today on one of my S5, then  for no good reason the speed started dropping then one of the blades just stopped and displayed

-------- from  zeros and No X es .

i rebooted it, no go . so i reset it to defaults, no go, finally i was forced to go back to one of the  Firmware modified by Smit1237 with out #xnsub support sense that seems to do strange things to my S5's on some pools . it is working like it should be now with Smit1237 firmware but not with the new released firmware from bitmain Sad . that did work well for a few days then to day for no reason it did , what i just said .

I agree the s5 does work different on each pool. I just want it fixed for p2pool becuase it hash drops from 1200 to 800-900. It works good with some pools and like you say others it displays x for no good reason and starts to act up p2pool being one of them.

I notice that to on  p2pool you log on it, then about 10 mins later it caps at 800 or 900 GS on my S5s on my S3 even before the fix had no issue there . Or i would be using it over antpool any day .
2384  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: July 26, 2015, 11:07:58 PM
no need to lower the price if people are buying it anyway Wink they would be stupid or something

and worth to mention is there is only 15 days warranty from shipping out on batch7 s5.. so thats probably like week warranty when u get miners Cheesy
So true Wink which leads us to the conclusion that buyers would be so so stupid  Grin

basic economics of supply and demand. If you want to buy a miner, your options are currently quite limited.
It will not last long, though, if prices will go on the upswing.
NOT working (for parts or repair) SP20 has a $406.01 bid right now on ebay with 4 days to go.

really, I'm temped to put my non working S5 up there for bids to see what i get Smiley . it works but when it wants to and only one blade the other blade is for sure dead, everything else works on it etc .
2385  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S1 Converted to S3 with one board down on: July 26, 2015, 10:50:51 PM
You can still make it work if you have and S1 to S3 kit.
If thats the case just use the big green board to connect the S3 blades like in this thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671128.60
IT works i just dont have the big green board from the upgrade kit.

Hope it helps

i know the point is i need either a converter power board form the S1 to S3 upgrade kit which is that big green board i have upgraded a few S3 Smiley  or a S3 controller that works . I bought one from here two weeks ago the seller gave back the money he was very nice about it as i was . it never worked it even looked like it was in bad shape once i got it, it worked but wouldn't hash right etc . but that's water under the bridge the seller was cool about it, even after i told him to keep the shipping just give me back the diff he gave it all back i wasn't up set etc i knew what i might be getting .

I needed this Mostly for the parts Smiley and at 60 bucks total it looked like i couldn't do any better .

SO that's cool . you sneeze you lose.

Been following that thread for some time now there getting close to something I see.
2386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: July 26, 2015, 10:30:24 PM
leave bitcoin and make full scrypt miner PLEASEEEEE
Would love to get 100mhs or more version Shocked
If they would cut the price in half for a scrypt only version it sure would be nice, I don't see many interested in the dual mining as much as the scrypt in this thread.

can you link that thread i  like scrypt mining as well, its all the same to me. I won't dual mine . I don't think it can work as well as they claim , i did try it on my past grindseeds, but don't see why .

If they base it off the A2 version that does about the same MH they may not sigh .
2387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: July 26, 2015, 10:21:01 PM
Looks like S5b7 shipping was pushed back a week, from July 29th to August 5th.

Biggest suprise reading it "[Second Hand] ANTMINER S5 BATCH 7"  ....  I just wonder what second hand really means.

When they ran a miner during a batch it was still described as new.   Second hand... think it's coming from data centers wanting to unload whall it's still top product there?

What's everyone's guess?

im guessing its data centers that got first shot on the s7s and they had some trade in

selling the "used" s5s at full price is really shady..

That would do a good amount of gain of difficulty.  Old gear goes to home user and data center got new gear, no gear comes offline.

Honestly this scenario scares the crap out of me.  If they let the big customers with entire data centers sell back gear.   It would make it where the hobby miner is one who is cheated.

Would also mean what ever is next the first X amount (huge amount) goes to the data centers they get these S5's from.

I just want this scenario to be wrong... but I'm afraid.

the net hash has been going up pretty steady over the last couple months.

also since people are still buying s5s its a win/win for bitmain to buy them back and sell them at full price..

it would make sense.

True, as long they keep saying second hand it's not moral but that's how it is in business being cut throat as it gets .

it does say Batch 7 wasn't batch five the last ones sold as new , so yea there coming from data centers in china some place Polly right off hash net, i wouldn't be a bit amazed if they have some S6/7 running on hash net .

Biggest suprise reading it "[Second Hand] ANTMINER S5 BATCH 7"  ....  I just wonder what second hand really means.

don't know but with a 15 day warr on it, not so sure i would want one . buying off eBay or Amazon used your better off not knowing WTF is up with that at least give 30 to 45 days .

honestly Wtf is up with bitmain did it change hands or some one come down on them to start being ass hole or mean .

Like the GOV in china . i mean they are in china and have to follow the laws and really can't tell us when there leaders get super greedy, so glad, I live were i do .

Come on now the picture is so clear there moving out old stock so they could move in the new s6 and s7 before they release it. and when they due they already made all that money from Antpool using s6 and s'7 and the sell out of all those S5's. Puts them in a perfect marketing position. There setting themselves Up first and fucking you guys up the ass at the same time. And you guys don't get it. then again.

I see that but why whats the Point in shooting the hand that feeds you.

i know it happens all the time that's greed and how it works but in the end it all comes back to you worse then what you dealt it out and you can't take it with you once your dead how i see it so,

 why ? ....

owell i guess that's one question > I'll  never get a good true full answer on because there is none .

they will be as im moral as they can now for no reason i was starting to like them.

Used S7 as new i see it coming etc i was hoping not i hope they prove us wrong not just me .

2389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.6.1] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: July 26, 2015, 08:26:14 PM
In case it helps you, I run my G-Black at 800 and average 25+ Mh/s.

-fvineyard

I just got my hands on a used Gridseed G-Black, anyone got tips for setting it up with Minera? My current settings (with using the dmaxl fork of cgminer) are
Code:
--scrypt --gridseed-options freq=850,chips=40 --queue 0 --scan-time 1 --expiry 1
I'm gonna let it run overnight and see what the average hashrate is in the morning. Any tips or tweaks anyone can offer are welcome :-D

Edit: after about 8 hours of runtime, it's averaging a little over 22Mh/s but with like a 16% HW error rate. Gonna try dropping the frequency and seeing if I can get it more efficient.

I have to run mine at 800 i tired all kinds of setting so the HW error stay very low if I go up to 825 its ok but for me to many HW errors, not much more in a speed increase, so at 800 my g-black stays at 25 to 27 , so I'm happy with that i don't need to OC any way and I don't use stock fans either for less noise, i think it runs cooler now or seems to  . I use BFG 5.2 i put in place of 5.1 it runs better for me . my hard errors sty at 7 to 10 % doing it how i do after 24 hours so I'm  ok with that to .  i honestly think these thing are like Zeus which i run a long side it, 10 % is the Sweet spot for zeus and these to it seems.

IF the Hard ware error jump up to high to fast just reboot it . if your using BFG you don't need to add a chip count it see it np . this is my setting with bfg 5.2 on there own PI s .

With my grindseed G -black

bfgminer --scrypt -S all -o your pool info here  -u user -p password --set gridseed:clock=800 --failover-only

 With my  cyclone/Tx2

bfgminer --scrypt -S all -o your pool info here  -u user -p password --set zus:chips=96 --set zus:clock=328 --failover-only

using  --queue 0 --scan-time 1 --expiry 1, doesn't seem to do anything .

I was tiring to figure out how to make minera work with P2Pool but i don't think it does right now. which i just learned how to auto load on my  PI at command line at start up . it took me many hours of looking and tiring to get minera to load the url it wouldn't so i reformatted a SD and did above for when i use the F2 Pool.

same setting work the same in Minera with BFG 5.2, i put in place of 5.1 .

i would for sure lower that to 825 or down for the G black Smiley like some one else said . speed should go up and be more stable and HW errors should drop down a lot . make sure all your blades are working I mean, make sure  AC or shares don't say zero  if it does say ZERO the board might be bad it will show as working under speed but the lite on the board will only flash red and never turn green.

I boot my pi with SD card but entire Wheezy OS is on USB stick ? .

have a look to this post so u get an idea about how i move my entire raspbian filesystem to USB stick
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=44177

concerning rest of the thing even im not sure whats happening. when i installed entire OS on SD card i can detect my GAW furys attached to USB hub on pi but when i use above guide it just detects the USB hub but not the attached miners to the hub wondering if there is any issues with the drivers or something else.

could be a driver issue with the USB stick over the PI , I'm not to sure just how to load drivers on a USB stick that you use with the PI  to make it see every thing . the DEV of Minera pointed that out one time when some one tired this in his thread they had the same issue tiring to run PI drivers off a usb stick, i think he said it is poss but didn't say much more .

Sense you say it runs fine on a on the PI with no issue but not on the USB stick , more then likely drivers not connecting up right .
2391  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: July 26, 2015, 07:02:02 PM
Thanks very much for your response - I thought for a while you were managing to keep your 400Mhz miners under 60°C in a warm ambient environment!  Grin

Running @ 350Mhz in a warm environment I'm getting temperatures of about 68/72°C. HW errors = 0.0012% which I think is pretty acceptable judging from your response. I would like to overclock to 380/390 however my only concern is whether or not running the miner at these temperatures, and higher, will affect the miner's lifetime..  Huh

Keeping HW errors low is a good sign that it's running well, but surely 70+°C couldn't be too good for it...I'm not sure..

Edit - I will send you a small tip when I get home, really appreciate the models!  Wink

anytime you do anything to anything beyond defaults you will affect the miner's lifetime Smiley .

why are your temps so high at 350 you should be more like 55 to 65 if that at default settings even with this mode on it unless your adding on the 20 + degrees.

Just a thought i have no idea how hot it is were you keep your S5 mining .

I bought a set it worked ok for me i guess, i ended up taking it off , my fans increased in speed, temps went up , the idea is very cool but unless it fits just right it might not work right that's the hard part having one made that fits right. I don't have a 3D printer yet but plan to get one of the cheaper ones for home use soon .
2392  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: need help miners are not getting detected on raspberry pi on: July 26, 2015, 06:33:17 PM

i boot my pi with SD card but entire Wheezy OS is on USB stick. when i installed any mining software it detects only the miners which are attached directly with the pi not with the usb hub. now it detects hub any suggestions

IS the hub USB 3 ? or the new USB that just came out neither work well on a PI, if at all .

all most all USB 3 hubs don't work on any PI including the PI 2, even the Hubs that say they default to USB 2 . and if it does work it is not working at USB 3 speed .

I my self can confirm USB 3 hubs have issue with PI including the PI 2 ,I have a USB 3 hub that will not work with any PI or even default to USB 2 and says it will work with a PI.

we need more info how it is plugged in, the USB hub name/model .

Not to sure what you mean by:

I boot my pi with SD card but entire Wheezy OS is on USB stick ? .

firmware bitmain is suck

Is that thing really worth it i was thinking of buying one like it to play with .

as for this Firmware I guess I 'm just lucky i updated to it no more over heating for me when the  internet drops out and all my S5 run cooler at stock setting with two fans per miner, and give it a few days or so  one of the DEV of CGMINER (kano) Is fixing it now but it should have CGMINER 4.9.2 not 4.8.0 . with a lot of the S 3 stuff he just did for the S3 from a big donation from one of the forums member .

NM sigh up til now they all worked great after i made that post one of my S5 speed started dropping then for no reason at all one blade just stopped and displayed all ---------- were 000000 should be .so i have to  eat what I said hour ago and why it took this many days for that S5 speed to drop no idea , i went back to the Firmware i was using no issue now so far.

my  other 3 S5's may do the same thing a few days.

Pool are closing because everyone go on antpool or f2pool instead of promoting good pool like btcguild or bitminter.
We need to spread the hash guys! I know its hard to be on a small pool but if we spread and balance all, we will get a better network!
So sacrifice a small amount to get a better network.

I use Kano.is but bitminter is good too! We had btcguild but I understand he had to close, big chinese are getting all the power!

So come on guys lets switch to kano and bitminter and show your support!  Smiley

I use this one most of the time

Eligius Pool Statistics  http://eligius.st/  it's my main pool.

with me it's how the Pool pay's out if i don't like the way pay out's work, big or small, i won't use it .

have to say in my case my S5 are running cooler if I  leave it at stock setting with two fans about the same noise but i also replaced the stock fan for less noise but the new firm ware atm seems to make mine run cooler with about the same noise level. I tired the new fan adjustment they run even quieter but hotter.

Just wish they had updated CGminer as well or let us updated it so the firmware holds it thu a reboot or does it now didn't try ?
