1501  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: May 10, 2016, 12:38:06 AM
it works now ?

other thing you can do is take off the bb put the s5 bb on the c1 to see if there might be a issue with the c1 but if you got it great .!!!!

the c1 is still a pretty cool miner to mess around with and mine with, when i bought mine I got a really nice deal on it, they sell now for close to 400 bucks or more if you can even find one on sell.

 i paid 150 i think or a little more.
1502  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: avalon 6 controller on: May 09, 2016, 10:42:36 PM
tip if you want to use any pi type and don't care if it has there version of openwrt, would rather use minera etc or your own made up GUI or cgminer on a laptop with windows like you want to all you need is the dongle that converts from I2C/ SPI, to Serial and cgminer with the A6 driver turned on. and you may need the one they made for the A6 not the A 4.1 or buy one then program it, which might not work either if you don't know  which dongle or chip they use i found out the hard way.

it's very cheap on line to buy, the shipping might even cost more then the A6 dongle, any cable/s that fits it, should work.

here is there cgminer fork for the A6 https://github.com/Canaan-Creative/cgminer

This might tell you a lot to: https://github.com/Canaan-Creative

Would bfgminer and minera run on PI 3?

About the image since is mention boot up controler,
So that minera img has to contain raspbian OS I hope! Correct?

While using RASPBIAN JESSIE, I done the following:

Via putty I ran the following:
sudo raspi-config (by doing the rest:
1) Enable SSH
2( enlarge file system
3) overclock PI as high
reboot

So I have access to GUI using destop remote connection(DRC) in windows, I download and install 'xrdp' via putty:
sudo apt-get install xrdp

I know there a way using startx to access GUI there some error message as:
'user x has no control or cannot access GUI but this can only be dong using (DRC) to my knowledge.

All the rest were still connected via putty

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

The following came from manuual install:

sudo apt-get install -y lighttpd php5-cgi
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi-php
sudo service lighttpd force-reload

after web server minera is ready to be install:

sudo apt-get install -y redis-server git screen php5-cli php5-curl
cd /var/www
sudo git clone https://github.com/michelem09/minera
cd minera
sudo ./install_minera.sh

Is this all I need doing for masnual instal?

During at some some point during last statement I came across the following screen:

Since I didn't know if should have change a thing, I selected no configurion (frst option) from next screen
But I saw few item on that screen dealing with email and ect...
local only was last option on that screen

Can you explain what should I be doing with the above screens?
This might have cause problems as to why minera couldn't locate run bfgminer including statements similar to windows!

Don't know but it might have easier download and install bfgmner instead of minera!

Until I get another PI, I am using both units on windows!

When I get that new PI and if I should experience then, I'll simply will go back to bfgminer tread and go from there!

no need do a thing if  use the per made image it should work on all version of the rasp berry pi  Smiley. at least till you know more why bro with the manual install i waited all most 8 month before i asked anything about the manual way while I learned it, the only reason i said try it, is it works out the box so to speak with very little to learn while you get used to all the ends and outs .

https://getminera.com/download/latest

for that image hit OK then use defaults which is no configuration at this time i think that was more for the mobile app part it had at one time which i believe he is putting back in at some point and why it's still in minera but disabled kind of, I'm  guessing  it does have other uses you can set a local host  with it .
as far as i know you only see it with a manual install.
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.7.0] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: May 07, 2016, 01:59:43 PM
Why would there be add pool in dashboard if something is already set in setting?
Does this mean to re-enter same as in settings?

yup ,the only way i know of is use setting to set  all most all the setting in minera.

Just looked never notice you could add pools with out going into setting learn some thing  new every day > thanks

and yea it's the same as setting just a faster way of doing it.

also you can set a lot of pools for fast pool switching .

Fail over what that means is if your main pool goes down and your not there to fix it , it should auto over to the next pool in the list then once your main pool comes back on line it should go back to it.

I have minera controlling one of these http://holybitcoin.com/product/avalon-4-1-1-0-1-3-ths-sha256-bitcoin-miner/   i like using minera over the openwrt gui type miner it comes with.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.7.0] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: May 07, 2016, 09:52:30 AM
til you understand it better I would download the ready made image it has everything in it's usually up to date in one package but sense you pretty much have most of it down . look at the per made image first . if you manual install it you more then  likely will have to install all the software miners etc and know how to deal with software errors which everyone here will help but the software miners  don't all ways install on a manual install.

cheek this out it explains a lot . https://getminera.com/help by all means look at the links for help ZOu said something about .minera is very user friendly or the GUI part is.

To install everything, this was done via putty (SSH), without accessing raspberry GUI,
If you do a manual install yes

what this right step and if not what should have been changed?

not sure what you mean was it a manual install ?

While being on raspberry GUI, Was I suppose seeing minera icon?

no icon i know of or do like zOU said

just point your browser to your raspberry IP followed by /minera.

http://***.***.***.***/minera ..

you to make more clear

http://192.168.1.whatever the the rasp pi berry IP is /minera

How to copy desktop shortcut of that file?
no short cut  im a ware of .

I see bfgminer under minera-bin directory.

Is this already to be execute and without building or compiling?

https://github.com/michelem09/minera

Building miner software

Since version 0.3.6 Minera comes with a script to build updated version of every single miner software.

If you are in trouble with your binary file of Bfgminer for example, you can simply connect in SSH and run this:

Cd /var/www/minera
./build_miner.sh <miner-name>

or like this

Cd /var/www/minera
 ./build_miner.sh bfgminer

The script will do everything you need to have the binary file in the correct place and updated.

If you need a list of miner available just run the command without any argument.
1506  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S3 boards in an S3+?? on: May 07, 2016, 08:31:09 AM
Hey guys,

Ive got a board down in one of my S3+. A nice member on here has a board from an S1 to S3 upgrade kit. Would it be compatible with my S3+? OR did they change something with the design or circuitry which means it wouldn't work?

Thanks.

YES !!!! the upgrade kit is a S3+ . the only difference's with the upgrade kit is no case like the S3 + in a box comes and the controller is all in one on the S3 + in a box , were as with the S1 upgrade kit you need a power board it comers with to plug the S1 controller into so it can run the S3 + boards that come in the kit.

1507  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: May 06, 2016, 08:33:55 PM
So May and nothing?? Do these companies even care about saving any little shred of their reputation that is left? Anyway seems like they are having some big problems with their 16nm chip and are now trying to distance themselves from being just a "mining company" with their recent announcements.

personally i don't think they care about their rep anymore. i think alot of companies get to a point where they choose profit over rep
(only to a point where their rep affects their profit of course, but "us" the community no longer have any power over Bitfury) <-- we used to have some say when our btc was funding their research with products they made and such, but let's face it that time is done, we have outlived our usefullness to them ;\

at this point i just pray they do SOMETHING to cut us in, even if it's open up some form of cloud mining with them
(remember on cex-io ,Bitfury's cloud mining has been "unprofitable" forever now) RIGHT ;\ so i shouldn't have faith on that front probably either...

all they see is $$ it's the same any place with anything all most,  it  seems if big bucks are there it's pretty much fuck the rest, just with bitcoins it seems more obvious .  but i didn't believe bitfury form day one when they first posted it back in DEC i hoped I was wrong but they played us got what they wanted . the rest well is fuck off, again i do indeed hope I'm wrong .
1508  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Alcheminer Controller Board 100% working on: May 06, 2016, 07:53:29 PM
 hey carlosmnk

jstefanop just told me what's wrong i sent you a PM

here what he said

Ok i see whats going on...yea that first AlcheMist_raspi branch was based off the old python driver which Im no longer supporting, and it wont even work with your flashed boards. You need the bfgminer driver. Now the issue with the bfgminer driver is that I need to update it to run it off those USB to UART dongles, since I need to program the reset pin to work with those. I should be able to do it but it will take a little time.

The rest i explained in a PM to you i won''t get into on the forums, no one needs to know Smiley .
1509  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: May 05, 2016, 11:04:26 PM
Yahoo! I am ready to take control over my raspberry PI 2 b+ and gridseed blade miner!

In windows, I had to reset the system as it has been giving me trouble and all is good with bdf with unit!

For testing RPI, I'll using one unit and everthing should go well, perhaps i will able using extra one.
So we use an extra USB powered hub to connect one or two units correct?

It's will greatly help me to provide complete codes to install, builting everything including configuration and execution of that software!
Of course, I want make sure code enable all gridseed similar as seen in windows execution commad line!
I don't want being lazy as I'm still new at it and I'm sure you understand!

Importantely I don't wish using those buits such scripta and others as they force creating an extra SD image, what if there a power shortage while not being at home? At this point RPI wouldn't be able to reboot without original OS!

I hope I don't ask you took much?
Thanks for your help!

I'll putting into consider the code you gave below if needed!

You can try per device something like below but find out what the ttyUSB port id is in Device manager. I put ONE just to give a example. I honestly don't know the command in windows at dos prompt to find out what your USB settings are , I always looked in device manager. me Lazy, i do know how to in linex if that helps any @ CL.

Code:
--scrypt -S all -o stratum+tcp://pool1:port -u worker -p password --set gsd@/dev/ttyUSB0:clock=838 --set gsd@/dev/ttyUSB1:clock=838

This way you can adjust speeds per device encase one is weaker then the other one . or one might need it's own direct attention.

or in BFG hit the S key then hit the + key then type auto while it's ruining, see if BFG can fix it .

also might want to give this a try Ive been using it sense it came out it has adds now, you can turn off for a  one time 5 bucks for ever with unlimited installs and updates on the pi you pay on , he started putting in adds to cover  Dev time, but hes keeps it stable and running .

I have a failed C1 BB board but I do have another BB board that looks the same. Well it has more staff on it but it looks the same. Problem is that even if I hold boot button it will not boot. It start doing something(leads are blinking) but not even on a C1 control board webpage will not come on and device is not on network according to router. It slows down the fans and some lights blink on a control board... I have reimage the SD card with instructions for S miners(there is no instructions for C1)... Didn't work. Any idea. I can't get any response from Bitmain... Contact them over email, skype, there support page...

Can anyone make an image so I can test if the original card is also defective and S miners are not compatible with C miners...

if you have a s5 the s5 bb should plug into the C1 or did on my C1 im using a S5 bb on my C1 .

bitmain support page should have all the images you need

I tried this guide seems to be missing some stuff

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=24945.msg275885#msg275885

I asked  jstefanop and some one else who lives near me i was even wiling to give up two of the boards etc etc they never got back with me. i don't beg .!!! So Smiley.
1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Falcon 27 is it worth using on: May 03, 2016, 09:22:03 PM
depends on your power cost mostly if remember those things were power hugs,,it still has some use till the new 16 nm script miners come out by  Innosilicon
im even building my own A2 for fun found some one with a lot of parts who willing to sell some to me part by part as i buy it,

I use a cyclone from Zeus and a grinseed g-black 25 mh both have paid for there self i just waste power kind of but it's all in fun.

This post will more then likey  be moved so don't be alarmed it's in the wrong forums.

you might get 300 with it fully working on eBay here  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0 maybe half that  fully working with two bad fans maybe 90 .
1513  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: May 03, 2016, 09:15:07 PM
but don't they need permission to do that stuff in china  i hear it's bitch to tour there all the bs they put you thu for a visa etc and then you just can't go any place you want to, so i wouldn't put past them being controlled by gov .Ive often wonder how much the gov is in control
1514  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Custom Firmware Release for S7 and S5 Miner all Batches on: May 03, 2016, 02:30:18 PM
can you post your cgminer.cons from your S5, to compare it. Do not include private details, like this:

api-listen" : true,
"api-network" : true,
"api-allow" : "W:0/0",
"bitmain-freq" : "3:350:0d82",
"bitmain-voltage" : "0725"

"bitmain-freq" : "3:350:0d82",
"bitmain-voltage" : "0725"

This is my cgminer.conf from my S5 not sure what else you need or want,

the rest in mine is all the stuff you don't want, your software just won't save to S5 mode or switch to it even thu it's there.

or it won't switch over to the S5 firmware which is different form the S7 even thu it may load in the S5 which it does but it tires to run like it is a S7 .

1516  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Custom Firmware Release for S7 and S5 Miner all Batches on: May 02, 2016, 11:09:14 PM
:-\Unless I am totally missing sumtin which may be possible, but from my experience this "Custom Antminer s7 Firmware" Doesn't Work At All.
It appears to just be a bloated non-functioning Antminer S7 batch 1 firmware copy.  It even has the "ping 114.114.114.114" line in /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh NOT commented out. Since currently (well at last time checked) this ip address is down and has been for a week or longer Cgminer will not run.  Also when I went to check the version of Cgminer after running on the SD Card that "new firmware" was dd'd to it was still showing 4.8.  I contacted Ziwalla (or how ever the spell it) Support and no response, not even an automated response.  So it's either one of a few things possible going on here:

1. Totally Doesn't Work At All
2. Does not Run on My Batch
3. Terrible Customer Service / Non-existence Support

Has anyone actually gotten this "Custom S7 Firmware" to Run ?

I am probably just going to Extract Original Batch 1 Firmware
to a virtual linux box and fix the cgminer.sh file
And then possible update/upgrade system
Install new version of cgminer and
Then recompress to flashable tar or just make a img file to
write to Sd Card boot.
These were really the only features i was interested in if anyone has already done this and would like to share
That would be helpful otherwise if anyone else wants when i'm done i can post it up here or new thread for people
to freely download and use...

I haven't the video to change the ip makes so sense . but I'm also tying to run it on a S5 which no setting will save to. i have no s7 it defaults to . some one here said they got it working with cg miner 4.9.2 can't say other wise. they want Positive feed back, to that i say make sure it works as intend other wise fix it so it does work out of the box or there won't be any really good feedback.

[10:17] <fubly> ok, now I asking for how, and sorry for disregard and not asking before.

I would contact them direct like it says not here but if you sell it with there free program they are gonna want you to pay a fee to use it you can't blame them unless you make yours free but don't ask here they tell you how to get in touch with them on page one.
1518  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Dual-purpose DPS800/DPS1200 breakout board on: April 30, 2016, 09:57:56 PM
I won't really have board available for a couple weeks, as the first half-batch sold out and my immediate budgets for both parts and manufacturing time are spoken for already. However, both ASICPuppy and HolyBitcoin were among the initial orders so both sites should have 'em up for sale soon. Not sure what ASICPuppy will have for cables, but HolyScott specifically requested 6-pin jacks because he had a surplus of pretty good double-ended cables already.

Holy all ways has tons of cables which are very good for my use, and who i buy all my supply's from in the US for miners as i need it.

holy also seems to have more on hand at a better price then ASICPuppy for some stuff, i watch both but most of time holy is lower with more .
1519  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: April 29, 2016, 05:29:16 PM
Only time will tell but it sure is encouraging.

What I like is this

16nm SHA-256 mining chips for everybody!

I do believe that we can count on that, i dc if they have it now as long we get it with a lot of good use left.
1520  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: April 29, 2016, 05:11:48 PM
I hope Avalon has been working on a 16nm chip longer than a month or two, or they're going to be VERY late to market with it.

The announcement they made that they weren't GOING to work on one for a while as of the release of the A6 was a very bad sign for their timing......

Ah  you can't believe them as Avalon, Bitfury,

Bitmaintech  all do a lot of bluffing as to where they are at.

Bitfury showed us a 14/16 size chip  nice demo  so where the fuck is it?

I don't know.

Bitmaintech says zip.

So I don't know.

Avalon said we are not making one yet. Now they say they are making one.

Here is the deal.

If any company above has them made right now and keeps very quiet about them.

They can simply replace all their older gear. Not raising the hash rate a lot.

I have 10,000 s-7's  at 4.7th = 47ph burning  13,000 kwatts

I put in 10,000 s-9  at 6th = 60ph burning      7,200 kwatts

So hashrate stays stabile  not much gain  and  spend  5800 kwatts less.

plus bargin sell my paid for old s-7's  or my paid for avalon 6's

So all three companies could have a lot of running .10 watt gear or none of the companies or one of the companies.

Being secret right now with ½ ing coming is to their advantage.

We get to watch a high stakes game between them.  Plus  while they keep hahs rate stabile we make a little coin.

I could believe that 400 or 600 ph right now is all next gen. mining as I type.

Or under 10 ph is next gen mining as I type.

I still have to mention I also got the email from Avalon and if  blockC wants me to do a group buy for them in the future I will do it.

this time i might try to get in that group buy if you do !!! or try to  for at least 2 miners , i do like Avalon stuff much better after owning just one A4.1 wish i had bought them back then instead of S5. power is not a problem  or won't be i applied for a lower rate @ 0.26 lower per kwh then what i have now for the next 19 months which if a lower plan comes a long which is very likely in my state, i can drop this plan for it with no cancellation fees, .+ the way it looks by June, I'll be solar. They told me today the planing is over some time next week i should get a email with the final plans to be approved my me then it's a long wait on the state for permits.
