1441  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: May 30, 2016, 10:10:40 PM
at some point it has to stop ? what I mean is when it goes to zero nm will it  start like - 90 nm , often wondered what happens at zero. even before i got into bitcoins with just PC's.

cool sent the info asked for , i got request not sure if it's poss wonder if you can make minera run numbers like bfg/CG 's real time black screen does not sure how hard that would be or even if it's poss and willing to pay a little extra for it but do it for every one ?.

I can see some place down the road others might want it and it could make you a lot later on just a thought .

tip this will only work right if you use it with ubuntu 15 or lower , I still do it the old school manual way for other reason.

Code:
curl -o- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/michelem09/minera/master/install_minera_ubuntu.sh | sudo bash

because of  php5 and Ubuntu 16 there is no support unless you share it for php5 , that may not work but everything else does update fine after a little editing here or there  and I'm sure at some Point minera might run better with Ubuntu 16 Smiley, but right now till July i don't suggest anyone try it on PI's till July's update for Pi's it is suppose to fix a lot and not just on Rasp berry pi's if you can install Ubuntu on other PI's  it will more then likely will upgrade to ubuntu 16 .

I really hope you will not need the Minera you know anymore by July ;-) No PHP No complex installs and a new way to manage everything is coming...

BTW for the errors problem I will try to see something, thanks for the files

These goes all the fun of doing it jk  i guess my PI's will become useless, one big question and i won't ask anymore and just wait will it still be a controller for miners that's why i use it mostly all most everything else is off i really have no use for it beyond that ? that's my  only question Smiley .I'll wait for the rest.

Sense it is to promote and tech with, i do  have one Alchemist script miner board i will give you you pay shipping it does work on a rasp berry PI i will even throw in a PI with cables with 2 fans to cool it  free no PSU ,you pay shipping as long as  it's what you say its for which i will have to trust you on, that boards going price if it works is worth 200 or more im willing to give to you for teachings purposes pay shipping it's yours.   to any one else don't ask I'll sell it .

il even give what support i can to get it running they do run off of a pi now, i do it with five boards .
i have eight boards or the full miner all eight work was thinking of selling one or two boards or try to make or find a case it fits and sell it as a 28 mh miner they go for on eBay for 400 easy but if it goes to a good cause why not give one a way free .
but it's for teachings only i trust you will use it for that ?.

I want nothing in return, so don't offer, if you do i will then, so don't offer.,

Shipping to New Zealand might be a pain but i'm willing it's the customs part that gonna be the pain but the offer stands .I'll be totally honest i have never shipped one thing out of the US only bought it out of the US then had it shipped to me but im willing if you want it , let me know .
1445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner declares bankruptcy due to increased competition, upcoming halving on: May 30, 2016, 12:32:06 AM
Or BTC will double and they will come out of bankruptcy.

highly  Possible and they know it then come out on top smart move and riskily but smart but at some point they will wtf up and mess with the wrong players if this happens...
1446  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is this electrician Bonkers? Input Needed on: May 29, 2016, 09:56:10 PM
I see now i should have said 2.8 kwh not 28 kwh and yes the rules is 80 % of the service but if your close or over id upgrade the service, to be safe, by close id say 34kwh but if your only pulling 20k at best isn't it like 44k you  can actually use on a 200 amp service before shit starts popping breakers and fires start and can use safely is 36k,unless your over loading a breaker and the rule for breakers is 2400 or 2.4 per 240 line with a 30 amp breaker is 80 % and on a 120 it is around 1800 or 1.8  is 80 % 15 amp 20 amp i believe is 2k with 120,all depends what breaker you use 15 20 or 30 amp and wire  ,so shop around or find out just what you need  it is Prolly like you said run lines with the right breakers and not a new meter or this or that but something really simple and cheap, so shop around Smiley

find out the avg cost were you live get three or more prices to make sure.

Ive found out in the past there are some greedily jerks out there that have no problem with taking a 80 years old last dime.
I'm 60 but help a 80 year old that all most had it done That asks me to help .

and the inspector sounds right and the electricians is well or saw $$ signs because of your life style .

yes i agree wtf is it there worry if you/i pay my bill on time why should it mater how much you/i use as long as it's legal they need to back off .

1447  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Raspi running from ATX PSU? on: May 29, 2016, 09:43:35 PM
Hi everyone,

I will be receiving a rpi3 soon to run my mini miners and would like it all to run from the ATX psu that I currently have everything plugged into. The psu is hooked upto a breakout board from eyeboot which from what I can see has a 5v white 4pin socket on it.

I have no idea what this socket is called but would it be able to power the pi?

Alternatively could I use an lm2596 based voltage regulator to power the pi from a 12v feed or is the pi sensitive to voltage fluctuations?

Thanks.

you can do it i saw a post the other day on the web can't find it now they had it all running off a atx psu with custom made cables ..sense i won't do but it's a idea that way you might save some space form the 110 line junk and even be able to use everything on one line over a 240 line on a atx .

I use this http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Foldable-Technology-Motorola/dp/B00B8L36A6/ref=sr_1_3?  and is one phip linked i  have been using for a year now might get a few more they save space over the annoying plugs that all most all ways seem to use up to much room on the surge plug or what ever you use.
1448  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain New Miner S7-LN 2.7T @697W discussion (Not official) on: May 29, 2016, 09:33:56 PM
It looks like bitmain changed price. Yesterday was 276 usd but today 291 usd.

Yesterday the BTC price was about 480$ and today at 540$
Maybe thats the reason?

probably yes and when we calculating by bitcoins it looks that price is cheaper on official page

friday: 276 USD ( 0.563 BTC )
sunday: 291 USD ( 0.543 BTC )

That's cool wish this was all ways that way price goes up but BTC go down Smiley . makes buying stuff easier with btc and in a way saves cash kind of . why i'm glad there is cash to compare it to .

so who buying one of these  it is temping ?. there on sell now !!! to any one any were

i could have the cash to gather in about a month the bitcoin halving doesn't worry me.

I see it as a good thing and we will all adjust or it goes under and eth steps in . or we get 12.5 or so less coins and over time it gets a little harder to hit a full BTC of 12.5 coin per like now,  I'm  not to sure  if the difficulty is affected by the block change if it's not it should go about  like LTC did and after it all adjusts out we get less coins per block with the same usually complaints,  me included. .  ..and the price goes up but this time stays up and in four years it happen again.. this reminds me of the time change a few years back from 1999 to 2000 the  2k so called bug nothing really happen and life went on .

I may buy one of these or wait see what happens to the Avalon 6 price i got a feeling we won't see any of the new miners with new chips till around the middle of June to the end of July sadly.

unless they go sell in the next day or 2 we sure as hell won't see them in May for sell to the public in gen.

ethminer.exe doesn't work with awesome miners yet ?
Ethminer is something I'm looking into, but there are no software with good API yet and also some different mods of ethminer. Any specific version you prefer?

all of them but the dual miner one i won't use it hate being forced to pay a fee the way he does it i Am willing to pay to unlock it but he won't for the dual miner for eth and dcr  and there is like 3 with good gui reports give me a second or 2 ill post links .

https://github.com/sammy007/ether-proxy/releases

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1448855.0

These two  are the two i use the most but sadly one is a bear to set up on other pools but what it says it works on but it does work on other pools after a lot of tries and mistakes.

one other i can't find atm but it would be great to have one that works with any eth miner or pool like this does with bfg and cg and a few more sense ETH may just be here to stay as BTC other sub coin  along with LTC and all others will still come and go and just be there to make btc as alt coins the way it looks for Script coin type miners and there must be some kind of profit in it if Innosilicon is coming out with the A4 .

I'm gonna upgrade one last time with awesome miner in about a month i may need it .
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: May 29, 2016, 07:44:28 PM
I hope this doesn't die like CGWatcher and CGRemote  did that could have ruled ...  it was the exact same thing as this but had more planned features which never got done with a different  gui then died .

in time

Minera may even do it all https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.0

Mich keeps it updated but having a choice  is all ways good.

1455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is this electrician Bonkers? Input Needed on: May 28, 2016, 03:14:45 AM
also I'm not sure  what the feeder cable is if it's the one from the telly phone pole to the house id be ware of what the power company is to lazy to do they put under rated cables up there so i found out the hard way one burt out from tress .. not what i was doing in my house i found out then they had the wrong size up for my 200 amps service .  then i had a main box replaced in side the house and the electrician told me in my state they can get a way with using the wrong size cable because it's state code and allowed and they do it to save money and don't care here . but so far with my service all last year i run it at or close to 30 kwh all most  every month with S5's and some older miners never once had a heat issue as long as it was on 240 lines or i didn't max out the 110's  i used .

That's what outs side my house or it looks like at the smart meter but the power company did it all when they put in smart meters as part of the service which they did over time  same pvc pipes etc ..I'm sure i some how paid it back with the power bill.

but that's in Maryland.

in my state the AVG price depends on what you need the electrician I used after getting three prices to replace my main  panel last summer was 1500 with permits to upgrade the service which i didn't do but i asked  he told me he won't do that unless he has a permit . the other two wanted close to 3k and said they didn't need permits which sound fishy to me . i liked the guy i had he seemed to care more about what he did then the cost or money.

yeah i dont understand why they are stressing me over the my usage, yeah the 30amp breakers are warm but new breakers on a sub panel would resolve that cheaply, what KWH did you see on your average bill ?

they dont share the power feeder source with phone, i dont have phone service at my house.

28 KWH AVG last year sense then thu i have lowered it to around 1800 every month still mine some, but waiting on new miners made me broke, got tried of waiting. so i spent it on junk stuff  so i'll  have to play catch up . i refused to buy S7 still do and the A6 came out to late, and like Sierra8561 said sound like there milking you Sad) .... not sure what you  mean by share feeder source most of everything around me runs off poles wire wise they all claim it cost to much to bury it but all our power lines are above ground what I  meant by telephone pole . the power company owns those poles i believe my fios was buried when they put it in.some of the richer areas around me have it all buried and there power all most never goes out due to bad weather but the power company here has got a lot better at getting it back on once it's out after being sued and find heavy by the state for poor service.

anyway to change your password without deleting your config file and starting over?

All i delete is the account.json in the configs folder password can be changed and nothing else seems to be gone or you can edit it there .... unless you mean you would like some way of changing it with out going under the hood, so to speak ..
1458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alchemist updated support added for RPI with a broke controler on: May 28, 2016, 01:33:04 AM
right now this is what minera is doing on a cubieboard 1 PI with 5 Alchemist 256 miner blades on Ubuntu 14 with a 7 port usb 3 hub and a 2 k server PSU with six pin PCEI plugs with no heat from them yet been running about week off and on that way.

I can upgrade to Ubuntu 16 and have but minera has issue with PhP 7.0 sense 16 no longer supports php5 .....im a ware you can share php 5 with 16  but it's not the same.

Minera is Showing the right totals but most of the time it doesn't. hash it does  all ways and the temps you see is the cubieboard not the miner .

Just made exact same post in the minera thread !!!!...

Does Minera average the temperatures from all 3 boards for its readout? I have a machine with 2 bad temperature sensors and minera reports it running at 20c  when its actually around 67-68c

no temps show , i'm using it with a PI not the controller it came with, jstefanop never added that in BFG i know of, i bought the miner with a broken controller cheap and just got it running with any PI type .

I'm guessing it running very cool with .002 to 0.03 hard errors % if that and no rejects most of the time and doing a reboot from time to time seems to help it run smooth all the time.

my Hard errors with BFG after it's been running 10 mins

19 (0.754%) they are usually lower i can get them to go lower but it fine to me ...which right now minera is showing right but over time it won't

minera shows 0.75% for the same HWE but in about a hour it won't it will show the wrong error % but the Right hard errors. it may be doing what your saying  in the Calculation stuck on some thing and not showing the full true total % or degrees C etc of only one to three boards but not all of them and then not avenging the Right totals . it does show the right hash i renumber a while back there was a issue in minera with it showing way off hashing but that has sense been fixed .
Fixed well, that if you put in the wrong setting it does some awful high number the miner can never do then it might shut down the miner or minera just stops, which is good .

I'm using a few of these http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Cooler-Computer-Cooling-FHP-141/dp/B00A460TK6?ie=UTF8&colid=3JTZSPDAOY0T6&coliid=I2YWMFB9T4AU9M&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pd_S_ttl with some lower pulling fans to cut down on the noise levels the stock fans do with this one on top on high blowing in air https://www.amazon.com/gp/your-account/order-history/ref=oh_aui_pagination_2_3?ie=UTF8&orderFilter=year-2015&search=&startIndex=20 it works well with way less noise and I keep a eye on rejects and hwe . but do plan to uses 6 of the FHP-141 one more of the Holmes Dual Blade Twin Window fan and make it run even cooler that should acttly give it better air flow then the stock fans do with less noise i just wish bfg  would show temps .

I gonna leave it that way and put two of the other three boards in there own case and may sell the 8th board still haven't made up my mind yet on that .
