Network Settings how to: https://youtu.be/5QD8NRQTLNE

Sorry man i need to read something in full English that might sound strange or this might but i would rather read how to then look at pictures or watch a video or even videos with voice, i all ways look for some thing to read, would rather read it . this one actually makes no sense at all at some point and goes to a black screen for 10 seconds with no reason why. i don't like watching videos or looking at pictures with out something to read that explains it better. so i guess my point is I'd rather read a good book then look at pictures, reading is still the best way to learn. unless it's a movie then there is nothing more annoying to me with a good movie then reading it as i watch it . i simply don't watch it if i can't understand whats being said would rather read the book if there is one , maybe I'm to old school .

but ill try to understand your video which is poorly done also . i want something for the GUI or be able to do more with the S5 GUI or any of bitmains miners but if i can't understand it better, it's of no use to me, i need to read how to use it in full English without using a translator  and not watch it.So until you make it more user friendly or make what little Doc there is better . i can't use it . I'm gonna keep and hope it gets better over time and call it a wasted 20 bucks which i don't want back this actually looks like it might be useful over time .

I want  at least one more 4.1 for fun my power cost are about to go down wouldn't say a lot but enough to run a few 4.1's and get some thing that's about all i can afford right now unless i go into what little coin i have.

i do hope there 16 nm chips they sell us are good i know it won't be cheap, all we can do is hope there .....

1524  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: April 28, 2016, 07:06:15 PM
you mean the  Avalon 6 ?

Isn't the A6 28 nm .

Yes absolutely, I was just checking the price on them ;-)

but that's great news for 16nm chips

my bad good point I'm even temped to buy one or two in a few weeks,

I'm not hoping for bitfury anymore. but will keep up hope that sidehack gets chips some place i have to many miners that need to be upgraded and parts just for those boards.

16nm chips over the next months.

working on a 16 nm  chip !!! ....

*yawn* Nothing interesting to see here. Bitfury had an announcement like this from December and they don't have them in mass production. *yawn*

Your point with these guys it's way different and what makes you think I'm not aware of bitfury's   BS post is how i see bitfury,

at least bitmain and Avalon when they say every one it's been everyone so far you can count on that and they release it on the dates they give us etc etc ....in other words they come thu .

I made this post more as info ..

1526  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: April 28, 2016, 04:34:11 PM
you mean the  Avalon 6 ?

Isn't the A6 28 nm .

I only posted that because some have there doublets about Canaan Creative aka Avalon there one of the better company's to deal with all ways have been it's the cost of there miners that kind of turn a lot a way but they do have to date the best built miner used and new i have ever bought, i guess that justly the cost ...
1527  Bitcoin / Hardware / Email from Avalon on: April 28, 2016, 04:18:36 PM

1528  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Custom Firmware Release for S7 and S5 Miner all Batches on: April 28, 2016, 06:08:54 AM
just bought a copy for my s5 gonna give it try .

This does work on a S5 and the License key keeps putting me in the old style firm ware with CG miner 4.8 . not the new one unless it doesn't work on a S5 if that's so id change your tittle and make it more clear what it dies work on fix the web site when we hit English it actually doesn't switch to full English, there is to much missing stuff.

or is there a better walk thu some place i can trouble shoot by to see what i may have dome wrong.

I had to use a translator pretty much sense it wouldn't switch over right in English to buy the software .

edit : got it working kind of  I had to re burn the image that let me in, found were it says s5 and tired changing it to S5 can't get it to save any setting in the new look but it will in the old look but only in the S7 mode .
can't change the ip or don't understand how to yet .
1529  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Dual-purpose DPS800/DPS1200 breakout board on: April 28, 2016, 05:21:35 AM
my test unit is chugging along.  house finally got too hot I had to turn on the ac

Sorry can't help never been able to do it in windows i have no issue doing it in Linux.I also don't use bfg with windows , once I found out how nice PI type pcs are .Smiley.
1531  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: April 27, 2016, 03:58:26 AM
are you compiling it for windows ? .

if so why not just use the one all ready made for windows it's kind of hard doing it for windows .

Not sure what you mean by:  Attempting to compile from source on Windows 10 x64. it better faster easier to compile on a lenux box of some kind then trying to do it in windows.
1532  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: April 25, 2016, 01:25:02 PM
GRIDSEED
--------

Gridseed units, at the present time, come in two versions: Blade - a 40 chip
unit and Orb - a 5 chip unit. Orb units can be used to mine both SHA256d and
scrypt based coins whereas the Blade is scrypt only, although BFGMiner only
supports scrypt mode at this time.

BFGMiner allows a miner to connect both types of units to a single miner
instance and provides for granular control of the clock frequencies for each
device and each chip on each device. The basic use of this feature is to use the
--set option on from the command line:
Code:
bfgminer --scrypt -S gridseed:all --set gridseed@<serial_number>:clock=825

for multiple devices, add multiple --set arguments.

Additionally, these can be added to the bfgminer.conf file for persistence like
this:

Code:
"set" : [
        "gridseed@<serial_number>:clock=825",
        "gridseed@<serial_number>:clock=850",
        "gridseed@<serial_number>:clock=875"
]

To find the device serial number, start bfgminer and press <M> to manage
devices, then <Page Down> or <down arrow> through the list of devices and take
note of the device serial number in the device information shown.

...
Quote
Select processor to manage using up/down arrow keys
 GSD 0a:       |  74.4/ 72.9/ 10.2kh/s | A:  1 R:0+0(none) HW:0/none
STM32 Virtual COM Port from STMicroelectronics
Serial: 6D85278F5650
Clock speed: 875
...

So for example, an entry would look like this:

Code:
gridseed@6D85278F5650:clock=875

According to the BFG README.ASIC YET another way .
That driver is here for windows including 10 if it needs it

https://github.com/olliw42/storm32bgc/tree/master/firmware%20binaries%20%26%20gui/o323bgc-release-v080-v20150613/bin/STM32%20Virtual%20COM%20Port%20Driver/stsw-stm32102

still the same but with a serial_number but the same Smiley.

w10 may not need it i can't say my blade runs 0n a rasp pi under ubuntu 16 with minera 7.0 with BFG controlling it  .

minera is found here, I manual installed  minera with Bfg when ubuntu 16 came out on the 21 st Smiley.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.0

Ive been using it pretty Much sense it was released a year or so ago
1533  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: April 25, 2016, 02:52:10 AM
You can try per device something like below but find out what the ttyUSB port id is in Device manager. I put ONE just to give a example. I honestly don't know the command in windows at dos prompt to find out what your USB settings are , I always looked in device manager. me Lazy, i do know how to in linex if that helps any @ CL.

Code:
--scrypt -S all -o stratum+tcp://pool1:port -u worker -p password --set gsd@/dev/ttyUSB0:clock=838 --set gsd@/dev/ttyUSB1:clock=838

This way you can adjust speeds per device encase one is weaker then the other one . or one might need it's own direct attention.

or in BFG hit the S key then hit the + key then type auto while it's ruining, see if BFG can fix it .

heads up if you use ubuntu 15 it offer u to upgrade ubuntu 16 think first it removes a few thing with a more up to date version that minera needs to work like php5 to php7.0 minera stops anyone got a fix for that yet. or how to replace that .

Reading state information... Done
Package php5-cli is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
  php7.0-cli

Package php5-curl is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'php5-cli' has no installation candidate
E: Package 'php5-curl' has no installation candidate
Changing permissions on Minera dir

nm fixed it ").

like this remove
Code:
sudo apt-get remove -y lighttpd php5-cgi
sudo apt-get purge -y lighttpd php5-cgi
sudo dpkg --configure -a --force-all
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
then install
Code:
sudo apt-get install -y lighttpd php7.0-cgi --allow-unauthenticated
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi-php
sudo service lighttpd force-reload
then remove
Code:
sudo apt-get remove -y redis-server git screen php5-cli php5-curl
sudo apt-get purge -y redis-server git screen php5-cli php5-curl
sudo dpkg --configure -a --force-all
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove

then install
Code:
sudo apt-get install -y redis-server git screen php7.0-cli php7.0-curl --allow-unauthenticated

worked for me Smiley im now running ubuntu 16 LTS with minera
1535  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: April 23, 2016, 01:14:39 AM
I have and run it for 6 month one time at max over clock with out issue and sold it a few months after that im told by that buyer it still runs great i wish i had keep it . The one i have now i over clock to much with kano update for CGminer that unlocks the over clocking limits in the GUI and Burt out a chip .

S3 were and still are that good just outdated  !! S1 were to but i don't run my S1 anymore it just sets for parts and i hope some nice bitfury boards one day .

OPs you said under clocking my bad

linux distributions on any PI type PC  come with all the drivers you need it part of the OS Smiley. BFG even has built in support for them ..lets just say all linux distributions are true plug and play that what makes them so nice and other reason but i still like windows more but that's because i started out in DoS till now and windows is easier to use .

but with BFG you may or may not have to compile your own copy it all depends what distribution and GUI you use for mining and how you  want to use BFG it took me  6 months of reading and learning asking no questions other then google before i bought my first RPI sense then i have 10 PI types PC there so cheap and very nice.

you also use the same command line arguments you use with windows for BFG  it just a tad easier with linux distributions or is for me Only reason windows is easier over all for me, is for every day use I like to point and click to much , with linux you use a lot of command lines in a terminal window like DoS . is has a nice GUI etc but more based as a command line type OS .

And logistics of sitting up a ton of GPU machins, and troubleshooting them.... I don't see anyone picking a industrial size gpu farm.

I wouldn't not worth it most im gonna do is 6 or 7 build them in PC sense i can all ways use one or two more PC's for other things and maybe rent a few form time to time sense the rent on them is not to bad you can actually make something renting not much but something .

1538  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCS Dumping SP35s for SP50s on: April 22, 2016, 11:24:49 PM
Mining alts with gpus = real work

Also not cheap to set up

your so figing right sigh !!.

I all ready burt up a r9 290 trying to water cool it i know were i screwed up but that was my mistake i have water cooled at least  2 other GPU with out issue this time i got cockie or hardheaded so i wasn't care ful enough i guess you would call it, that's on me. I throw the card a way im not gonna try to ripe off xfx or any one after that, trying to replace it.
1539  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCS Dumping SP35s for SP50s on: April 22, 2016, 10:43:04 PM
The tagline of their latest auction reads: "Not many units left, don't miss out!". They sold 15 previously so they're not actually selling many.
15 is not that much, maybe they need the room for a smaller type of miner. Or they have less energy consuming.
Can it be so simple.

The number 15 might just be what they were willing to do as their "first round" of sales via Ebay. See how they go and then adjust the price (up or down) based on what happens with the first 15.

Bitmain has done this along with the S7, with each successive batch being lower priced (generally) than the previous one. The posting by scyth3 makes more sense in terms of numbers.

With having a data center though already in contract... the big question is what do they do with spots?   If their goal is to sell all or a good amount will they leave empty? Seems like a dumb idea.  Will they buy other's machines... seems like it would be a big ego burster to do this.

I just don't see they are going to do next as I don't see SP50 being there when these ship out.  And I also don't see them wanting to have open spots where these miners were.

Maybe they have 15000 GPUs mining ETH.

If they have $3M to buy GPUs then sure but....

Eventually someone will have a asic for it... they likely will keep private as long as possible.  We saw this with X11 once profitability went down... we could get well used gear for the algo.      Them buying so many GPU's is highly unlikely the man hours to put together and parts needed... I don't see them spending it on that.

I also don't see a SP50 there though.... but I think it will either be empty spots or they will buy some other brands gear (which will not sound good on financials when released).

http://cryptomining-blog.com/7752-what-we-dont-like-about-the-ibelink-dm384m-x11-asic-miner/

I read a review about that x11 miner it might be waste now sense there is only one two coins you mine at x11 if I read it right and that miners has so many flaws in the software that need to be fix with no update in sight and it's not open source software, i think they said you can't even change the default password they may even turn into another Zeus miners type company at first it was good then they started ripping others off. and went cloud which made it even worth script mining was very popular back then till Zeus and few others destroyed it but that's how i feel. I actually had the cash when it came out all most bought one im broke now and kind of glad I didn't buy one.

there taking orders for batch 2 i think and/or I hope you get by may or June i think it said was the ship date .

Them buying so many GPU's is highly unlikely the man hours to put together and parts needed... I don't see them spending it on that.

on top of that eth prices are going down  so why buy so many GPU's only to end up selling them again a few months later they are for sure about to do something what ever it is.

you can buy it now if you want to pay 2100 with free shipping n the US if this link is right , www.dualminer.com/iBeLink-DM384M-Dash-and-X11-Miner_p_36.html

try that it has remote access it shows temps has no cap on the number of machines, I'm a  ware of , can be used with out a browser remotely with ssh or you smart phone with a app with windows or lenox on a pi type pc. and a few others things is very light weight, minera is more a controller type software that works best as such atm Mich said he is adding some really nice stuff  for business like yours it will take him a month or two to write and fully test which is good because everything he has released so far has just worked he is all ways there after every new release and will  reply with in hours or with in that day if not hours  or has so far.

I use both minera and the one i linked and awesome miner.

AWESOME MINER: the only problem with it is even using it remotely the remote box has to run windows to use it, but it has a lot of nice stuff but its limited kind of to windows .
to use how you want to which it does everything you want it to but only on a windows box atm but can be viewed any place under any OS.

http://www.awesomeminer.com/

in minera you can turn all that off if you don't need it, don't let what you see fool you .!!! all most all that stuff he shows can be turned off that's just to sell it etc or get it out there .

last one made for antminers may work with other miners is no longer being supported that's the only down side to it .
