242  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Don't be tired of hodling that potential coins. on: January 28, 2024, 11:58:33 AM
I believe you are still hodling your potential coins? If you are not hodling, you can try your best to ensure you buy to be part of those that are still hodling so that when time come, you will be part of those that will rejoice.

As you talk e come belike you dey talk of other altcoins, if you're speaking about Bitcoin no refer to am as potential coins but call am Bitcoin and if you dey talk about altcoin na when you fit dey refer to dem as potential coins. Make we talk about altcoins and leave Bitcoin alone since him no dey their category of altcoins. How do you identify a potential coin to keep hodling so we don't get tired of hodling if I may ask you.

Mind you, you fit dey hodl altcoins wey dun die but you go dey think say na potential coin because of whatever screening mechanism wey you dey use dey select your coins to hodl. The only coin wey I go fit say make you no get tired of hodling na Bitcoin. If no be Bitcoin, you can get tired oh and sell to reduce losses because many of this altcoins dem, dey no get anything to show working.

Most of them just go to the top because of too much hype and anytime wey something that look more better comes out, everybody dey normally move go that new thing and dem dey leave the old tokens behind so no dey hope on altcoins like dat say if you keep hodling say e go pay you.
243  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: A year profit investment to choose on: January 28, 2024, 11:41:12 AM
Quote
If you invest $20k in $BTC for 1 year or invest the same amount in any of the best performing stocks, such as Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta or Amazon, which one do you think would yield more profits?
Which investment unah go like choose and reason for choosing it.

Na Bitcoin go yield more profits because na Bitcoin be the hottest assets this year but if it was any other year I for fit choose other assets. There's nothing bad in all the assets wey you list because dem good. Me sha I for like diversify and not invest all into Bitcoin so e go fit help me to hold Bitcoin well. If you invest everything inside Bitcoin e go make me want to sell while more potentially dey ahead to make better gain from hodling Bitcoin.

Diversifying go also make am possible say I fit sell the other assets when them give me profits and use hold body, when we talk about diversification na assets like dis dey sweet because dem no dey correlated. While they're all stocks, they're different stocks and not in the same category. Tesla, Apple Google dem dey different categories as Apple dey phones and gadgets, Tesla dey electric car production and Google dey him own line so diversifying into this different assets go make sense pass.

If no be say we dey halving year wey lead to the bull market, I no for insist say na Bitcoin as Bitcoin no dey normally dey profitable every year as some years e dey get as e dey be but overall sha Bitcoin potential just big as more profits can be gotten from investing in Bitcoin.
244  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why it's very risky to leave your coin in an exchange on: January 28, 2024, 09:40:00 AM
Their are some questions we need to ask our self, question like, if this exchange all my coin dy get K leg, na who I wan hold? Make we try use people dy learn, make we no allow am to happen to us first before we learn,  that is why for this forum them dy always dy advice everyone to use self custodian wallet, so that you no go wake up one morning come dy hear stories about your investment.
Make we just look how FTX just run into bankruptcy wey make so many people money plus life savings get K leg till today,  abeg make we thread wisely.

E get one illustration wey I see online one day, when you buy phone wetin be the first thing wey you dey do? Nobi to buy screen guard and phone cover to use secure you phone. If we fit do something like that for phone to protect am then wetin dey stop us from protecting our investment. Ignorance no be excuses oh, scammers and hackers no go use say you no know free you. You need to protect your investments and the best way to run that kind matter na to dey in charge. Nobody go fit guard your investment reach you so why you dey leave am in the hands of the centralized services providers.

Exchange oh whether na centralized ones or those decentralized one, no one safe to use hold your Bitcoin or other altcoins self (if you be person wey dey invest inside altcoins). This advice is always welcomed on the forum to enlighten people because alot of us still dey use exchange and all this centralized services providers without knowing the risk involved. For people wey know the risk and still dey use them that one na their own wahala but for people wey no know, E good to dey remind them always like this.

If you no get money to buy hardware wallets, you fit use electrum in an airgapped devices and you no get wahala provided say you fit secure your investments from hackers well for the electrum wallet. Same for altcoins, search for non custodial wallets them (decentralized wallets) wey you go use store and never use exchange wallets for storing of your cryptocurrency.
245  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Making informed financial decisions on: January 28, 2024, 09:22:12 AM
Making Informed financial decisions In  the  dynamic  world of finance where risk management and cost reduction  is  the  talk of the day.It is very  important  for one to make informed financial decisions from a fundamental and technical point of view.

Na sense you talk here but we dey in an industry wey be say na craze people and investment na dem full everywhere. Making informed investment decision no go favour you for here every time as you fit miss some kind big money making opportunities but e good as e go help you not to lose much for the industry too. One inform decisions wey we dey neglect na the choice to invest in Bitcoin while ignoring all dem altcoins dem as na distraction dem be. Making informed financial decisions like this go help you in the long run so no dey listen to wetin people dey say.

You not investing in altcoins or those memecoins wey full everywhere this days no make you no sabi wetin you dey do. It's better you accumulate Bitcoin for a longer time and reap the fruit of your labour in the future than to make quick money chasing altcoins and looking for quick profits dem wey go later purge you. Making informed financial decision also depends on your exposure and enlightenment so make we no dey neglect financial education as e go help us to to make inform financial decisions.

By the time Bitcoin pass the last ATH wey be $69,000, owning just 0.1 BTC go give you ₦10,000,000 and this one na guaranteed sometimes wey Go happen after halving but to come dey find the altcoins wey go give you that assured profits na big quest so everything depends on your understanding of what informed financial decisions are and how you analyze the data to determine which investment is sustainable.
246  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Sale some ROI of Bitcoin to buy new projects or keep hodling the Bitcoin on: January 26, 2024, 08:48:31 PM
New projects dem carry risks, some na scam others no fit last while some go last and give better ROI. Di question now be say to minimize di risk of loses, weda e go good to sale some ROI from Bitcoin to buy dis new projects? So if we gain e go be plus, if we lose, e no go too affect us, based on say na profit money we take buy dem.

If you wan invest into altcoins, no make the mistakes of using your Bitcoin to buy the altcoins, you fit use new money wey just come direct from any hustle wey you dey do and know say na gamble you dey do so but no use Bitcoin buy altcoins or you go regret am especially when the altcoin no dey very well wey be say if you been just hold that Bitcoin you for dun make better profits pass wetin the altcoin wey you buy dey give you. I no support say make you sell your Bitcoin to buy altcoins.

Wetin I fit support na for you to sell your altcoins dem buy Bitcoin because this bull run wey dey come so, Bitcoin go leave plenty altcoins behind. Altcoins fit make gain but when you check Bitcoin gain you go see say the profits go choke too. You know wetin be say Bitcoin increase reach around $100k to $150k or even more self. Your ₦100k wey you invest go dun dey turn like ₦500k (wey be 4x). Altcoins dey wey fit give you pass like that but why you wan go gamble when sure investments dey your front so.

Na to continue dey hodl Bitcoin dey go, if you wan gamble no wahala you fit put money inside some altcoins but no make mistakes say you go sell your Bitcoin to buy altcoins or you go dey regret like many people wey dun get the same thinking like you during the last bull market.
247  Economy / Economics / Re: The world's logic favours income makers, not the savers on: January 25, 2024, 10:07:45 PM
Moral of the story: don't save money for more than one month. As soon as you accumulated some amount of fiat, put it into an investment and make it generate passive income for you, although you should avoid banking investments, since they usually pay below the inflation. Go for Bitcoin and assets when there isn't enough money to invest in something bigger. There is no assurance you will defeat the evil rigged system which smash common citizens, but at least you will be trying to overcome it...

Fiats savers are losers, saving was ideal in the ancient days when their currency was backed by gold but after the introduction of the fiats system that money can be printed without it being backed by anything, saving became worthless because while you're saving, inflation is making all your efforts become a waste. If you want to save, save in an assets. Assets are anything that brings money so anything that can bring money to you can be used as a saving ground. Save in Bitcoin and not fiats.

When you're saving in an assets, you're also investing and the worth of your money gets retained through appreciation in that asstes that you're saving in. Instead of saving fiats, save that money in landed properties that can generate cashflow or capital gains. Get yourself financially educated and you'll know the importance of investing instead of saving. The dollars will keep losing its value provided the government keeps printing more into circulation and you best believe, they won't stop.

You should also realise that saving doesn't increase your wealth but investing does. When saving you're putting your money to rest but when investing you're making your money active to make more money for you.
248  Economy / Economics / Re: richdad poordad has no more guide after achieving freedom on: January 25, 2024, 09:44:59 PM
i dont brother what is inside the book, but I want to know what is next after the books, no matter how many books he wrote they are all circulating around the same set of knowledges/insights/thought, the first book is totally identical to the last book, there is barely any context added, if at all, why should people waste too much time to read twice the same textbook? I know some would crave the new book, because it give a brand new experience, new gadget new ux new ui new look new everything, impressive enough to attract new buyer.

New experiences that's your answer there, the new book give a new insight and a brand new understanding of what he was trying to teach in the old books. He has his targeted audience and that's why he's releasing his book in batches. For some people they have to read multiple of his books for them to understand what he was teaching while others have to read just one to get his philosophy. Some publishers spread their writing around different angles of financial education while others focus on just one aspects. You might hate or like him but your can't deny the fact that he has helped alot of people gained financial education that the schools can't teach.

I enjoyed reading his books when I was younger and always look forward to new ones, there mightn't be new things but I understood better what he's was teaching in the previous book. One think I know he explained better was want liability or assets are. He mightn't have more guides after achieving financial freedom but I know when I'll achieved that myself I won't need someone to tell me what next as I would have have already known what next to do to protect my wealth and be able to pass it onto my next generation.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons for personal financial accountability? on: January 25, 2024, 09:26:52 PM
Below are the few reasons why personal accountability is important
1. It fosters self discipline in the areas of spending. Accountability sometimes teaches us how to restrain ourselves from our wants.
2. It creates room for investment through wise decision making. In this scenerio, we often consider investment rather than squandering funds

Accountability helps guide us towards achieving financial freedom because it gives us the sense of understanding that it isn't everything that we want that we should be getting, we have to focus on our needs and leaves the wants for the future when we can get those things we wants without checking the balance of our bank account. When we're able to focus on our needs we won't waste money on things that won't add to the success of our financial journey. Most people look at what the rich are getting and try to copy them when they're not yet at the same financial class with those rich people.

Financial accountabilities helps give importance to what is more vital in our life and will help us achieve financial independence. Without financial accountability you can't have financial freedom but will be always working for the dollars.

Quote
3. It encourages the regular checking of financial growth, which help us to monitor our earnings and expenses.
4. It builds financial confidence in hustling continuously.

Without monitoring your spending and earnings, you can achieve financial independence. You can be spending more than you're earning and think you'll be able to achieve financial independence. Financial accountability makes you responsible and you can't achieve financial independence without being responsible with your spending.
250  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 23, 2024, 12:45:35 PM
Nowadays, most companies prioritize skills rather than a person's bachelor's degree. With the skills a person has, it will allow him to fill strategic positions or build his own business.

Companies are getting wiser because we have those that have gone through the same education system now in the position of hiring new employees to the company and they understand the school system. Everybody can read and get good grades but there are quality that only skills can give and that's the importance of having a skills. I don't know about the western world but in my country you can work your way to high grades without having to be intelligent.

Bribing and corruption has made money the key to achieving anything in the country so if I was to be incharge of hiring, I'll definitely prioritize skills over degree. You can read through your years of college only reading to pass your exams without knowing what you're reading and this is the reason we're having less qualified professionals in their field of study because people aren't reading to know again but reading to pass exams and get the degrees.

People aren't putting much effort on education as they use to do because they know that they'll still have to look for jobs when they're done schooling as there's no guarantee that you'll get a good paying job so they just want to get done with school and move ahead, skills is the best way to get a candidate for the job and not degree because it would have taken you years to perfect that skills as you can't fake a skills while you can fake a degree.
251  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin's Financial Advice on: January 23, 2024, 12:05:20 PM
Quote
Some actual financial advice:
* Diversification is good.
* Save. Get to the point where you have enough to cover multiple years of expenses. Financial safety is freedom.
* Be boring with most of your portfolio.
* Don't use >2x leverage. Just don't.
What are Your thoughts about his financial advice guys? I like the first and 2nd which I've been doing by myself too.

Here are some of my thoughts on his advice, the advice aren't anything new as these are normal advice that we hear everyday. Diversification are good but not in assets that are closely related, when newbies hear the CEO of Ethereum saying diversification are good they'll think he's endorsing investing in altcoins (and on the other hand, what do we expect from the founder of a altcoin preaching diversifications without clarifying when we're suppose to diversify). They're only trying to get people to invest in their projects with their advice, this isn't different from what CZ was doing when he was the CEO of Binance.

Diversify but don't do that with close assets like cryptocurrency. Instead of saving, Invest. Saving and investing aren't the same thing, when you save you don't give your money room to grow, saving puts your money at rest but when you invest, you put your money to work to make more money for you so we should pick interest in investing and not saving. Investing is also a form of saving but saving isn't investing. Lets know the difference so we can make better financial decisions to uplift our finances.

Being boring with your portfolio is actually the point I agree with more, Bitcoin is boring, it isn't as active like altcoin with all the difference things they introduced to their ecosystem like staking, farming and so on so investing in a boring assets like Bitcoin when compared to other altcoin is actually good. I noticed boring business are giving the most profits lately.

255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: January 21, 2024, 10:06:49 PM
Research has it that no man is satisfied with what he has. I also went further to check the profile of most prominent men that have existed and also existing and I realised that most of them have enough money yet the are still searching for more , they have power and yet they are still fighting to get more power ,they have assets yet they are still buying more properties, and I ask again when will they be satisfied?

This research is wrong, not all men aren't satisfied with what they have, maybe if the research says a majority of men that's when I'll be in support of the research because I know people who are contended with what they have, they mightn't have much but the little that they have and it can sustain them, they're comfortable with it and aren't searching for more actively. Some men are naturally greedy and no matter what they have, they'll always be searching for more. This type of men nothing satisfy them and they are always searching for material things but when it comes to knowledge, knowledge is endless as we'll always need new knowledge as we keep existing.

Quote
Even in this forum I have also seen high ranked members who are staff and with thousands of posts and merits yet they also post every day hoping to be merited as well , and the question again here Is when will they be satisfied?

Wrong, they aren't posting to be merited but postings because their campaigns demand them to (for the spammers) and for the quality users because they want to impact their knowledge to the younger generation. As you get older with your ranks especially legendary ranks on the forum, merits no longer excite you because technically you don't need it anymore although it feels right when your quality contributions on the forum are been rewarded.

Quote
Finally , I have also seen my friends bitcoin wallet with so many coins in dollars yet they buy bitcoin every day , trade everyday , HODL coins everyday , so the question here is when will they be satisfied?
However, I will be very glad if someone can highlight more on this and educate me more thanks .

This is because Bitcoin has a limited supply and soon the price of Bitcoin will be so high that you won't be able to afford one whole Bitcoin anymore therefore we're meant to seize every opportunity we have to accumulate Bitcoin while the price is still low. Inflation on fiats will keep making things get costlier but we can only be assured of our future by planning it financially today and accumulating Bitcoin is a good way to do that so we can live financially free in the future.
256  Economy / Economics / Re: richdad poordad has no more guide after achieving freedom on: January 21, 2024, 09:02:58 PM
Ok, richdad poordad is about getting out of school and get a hold of your finance, get out of rat race and leave the cage, but what else to do after you had made it? I do not like richdad poordad for not having a complete guide, they just stop right at the middle of nowhere, and left the rest to the reader to figure them out...

Let me just say someone taught you how to fish, are you waiting for them to return to also teach you how to store your fish or sell them to the market woman? There are some things you have to learn on your own. Have you read other of his books because he has many and some he wrote with other authors so you can gain more knowledge from those other books on how to protect yourself from the scammers or achieve greeter things with your life. I don't like reading books from the same author, I read form different authors as they have different approach to life.

After reading Robert Kiyosaki books, read that of other authors and you can have a complete guide to financial freedom. Robert Kiyosaki teaching how to achieve financial freedom but he doesn't teach how to avoid debts or get out of them because he just declared bankrupt few weeks ago. There are other authors that are specialist in those areas and you should do your research and read their books to get the knowledge in those areas.
257  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is signature payment for free on: January 21, 2024, 08:53:51 PM
When I woke today I was flabbergasted concerning signature payment when I viewed participate payment payroll but I was like how did the campaign managers get the funds they pay participants of their various campaigns,

The projects running the campaign provides the funds for the campaign, no manager uses his money to launched a campaign unless the manager is also the owner of the project so you don't need to be scared as the campaign funds is always covered weekly by the projects that launched their campaign on the forum. Some campaign escrow their campaign funds with the managers for several weeks or months while other campaign pay weekly directly to the participants of the campaign.

Quote
and secondly how does what we write in the forum convert to money that makes the managers to deem it fit to make sure their is available funds weekly to pay their participants,

When you join a campaign, you're advertising a company ads on your signature space so you're promoting that projects and your promotion brings direct sales of whatever goods or services that they're rendering. While on other occasions your promotion gets their ads to bring popularity to the project and make their brand more known which benefits the project. They're paying you to promote them and that's why you get paid for what you wrote on the forum.

Quote
Again can we be ask to return any funds that is being paid to us in future time, most of you who has being here for long-term have you be questioned in one way to the other for refund of payments from the designated signatures campaign you find yourself into.

You were hired to work and after you work you deserve to be paid, nobody can ask you to return the funds you work for unless you were over paid. You can only be asked for a refund when you didn't do your work properly and the manager made a mistake to pay you but provided you did your job excellently as the campaigns demanded, you don't owe anybody a refund.
258  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: January 21, 2024, 01:26:45 PM
If we looking for a coin that is reliable, stable (compared to other cryptocurrency) and proven for safe speculation and investment then I do agree that Bitcoin is the only worthy coin to buy, it has been here for more than 14 Years, and the price keep increasing.

Bitcoin can be said to be a guaranteed investment and also secure your money because when you invest there's no fear of losing your money to scammers or exit scam artists as to when you invest in altcoins. You're going to be exposed to more volatility when you invest in altcoins and while with Bitcoin you can be guaranteed that the coins you bought will rise back with the market  as it recovers but that can't be said about altcoin as many of them don't recover from the decrease in price that they had during the bear market.

But out-there there are so many cryptocurrencies that actually has useful utility and dApp, and not everyone buy crypto just to speculate and invest some actually buy it for the utility. The problem would be the number of those useful altcoins is extremely small compared to the shitty ones, so to invest in altcoins we will need to find needle in haystack.

The number of investors buying cryptocurrency for utilities are very small because we don't have any real world utility yet for altcoins. Bitcoin can be used to purchase items online which serves as a currency but many altcoins aren't been accepted. The other utilities aren't of a global usage yet so why would will be buying just for a utility that's a trend and will fade out immensely another trends comes out.

259  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 21, 2024, 01:14:26 PM
So, we all know how important skills are not only on an individual basis but also on that of the economy, and many of us without doubt are either in the process of learning or already earning from skills. Needless to say, many global brands started as a result of skills learned and used to benefit people. The creators of Adidas,  puma, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and even sports professionals, etc all learned and practiced their skills more than enough to become the best of the best.

I won't say it's their skills that got them where they are because what skills will it take to create Coca cola, Microsoft but for sport we can say it's their skills. Skills are very important overall because we're running out of cooperate jobs as the world is getting more populated, we need extra advantage over others so we can secure jobs these days and also our skills can serve as an avenues to generate money. With skills you don't need to search for jobs as you can create one for yourself. The good thing about skill nowadays is that you can monetize them very easily to make money.

So, my question is very simple. What skills are you currently learning or have learned and are earning from, and what is the reason why you picked it?

I have learnt many skills, some have been useful to me as they have earned me money while others haven't although I'm not bothered because I know the importance of having a skills and how they can be very important to me in the future even though they aren't having much impact in my life at the moment. I have learnt some offline skills and also online and I have many I'll be picking interest in soon. I want to become a web developer so I have planned of learning that skills but what is stopping me now is that I haven't settled down yet. Immediately I do that I'll start my classes on web development.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 21, 2024, 12:00:20 PM
1. Do you want large institutional financial organisations buying large amounts of bitcoins and then locking it up in centralized trading platform

No body would want that but still we can't tell anybody what to do with their Bitcoin. For there to be a good side there has to be a bad side, and for the good to be appreciated the bad has to be present so by the time they lose their assets due to hack for storing their Bitcoin on centralized platforms, they'll learn of self/Non custodial ways of storing Bitcoin and that'll make them to pick interest in owing Bitcoin and not buying Spot EFT that they don't have control over.

2. Do you want Bitcoin to be a commodity or a currency? ETFs will destroy the goal of Bitcoin becoming a currency.

Bitcoin can be both, Bitcoin being a currency isn't happening anytime so if we're been honest with ourselves but that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. To keep the spirit of adoption going, Bitcoin been accepted as a commodity is a welcome development because that'll help us reach to other audiences that'll all add to the popularity of Bitcoin and from there we can move forward.

4. Fiat whales get control over bitcoins and can be used to manipulate the Bitcoin price. (They control the traditional Fiat investment options, so they will gradually increase their ownership of bitcoins to control that too)

The whales can only manipulate the market for a short period, and by the way if the whales want to manipulate the market they can do that without the Spot ETF, controlling the media is enough power to manipulate the market as the market is being influenced by the media with the spread to fud but all this have temporary effect on the market.
