241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Coins disappeared after importing wallet to BitcoinABC - help ! on: August 24, 2017, 03:36:48 PM
OK
Network is synced.
Coins are there ...
AHhhhh
Thank you . Now I don't know if the other wallet of BitcoinABC contains coins or not...

Thanks for the help !

What other wallet of BitcoinABC? You shoud have one empty wallet.dat when you first open the BitcoinABC client, then the copied wallet.dat from the Bitcoin Core folder which you should have emptied first (by sending your BTC to other addresses, to avoid problems). This wallet.dat that is now empty in Bitcoin Core, should show up with the BCH that you should have received during the split. You can send now these coins to an exchange to dump or whatever, but make sure that you did the step of moving your coins in your Bitcoin Core wallet to another wallet first because it seems you just copy-pasted the same wallet and didn't do this step.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have 10 different altcoins on: August 24, 2017, 12:59:06 PM
I have 10 different altcoins is it posibble to keep their in same wallet??
10 different wallet is difficult for me and i keep my money in market
any advicee??

What coins are holding?

One of the main reasons Bitcoin is the main coin is that it is economically nonviable to run 10, or whatever amount of altcoins you are holding, full nodes.

There can only be one real crypto reserve currency and that is Bitcoin, nobody is going to bother to run nodes for every altcoin.

My advice is to dump the coins that aren't worth holding long term. Keep the coins worth holding in SPV type wallets.

And of course keep most of your portfolio with BTC and run a full BTC node.

243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First coffe paid with offchain segwit tx using Twitter on: August 24, 2017, 12:02:51 PM
Moving off-chain transactions or increasing block size are two valid options to address. Getting a consensus on the concept of a better solution would be difficult enough.

The thing is, that on-chain transactions will never be viable for coffee type transactions. They were viable back then, because back then nobody was using bitcoin so you could even afford the risk of 0 confirmation transactions. This is a basic and easy to understand concept that big blockers like Roger Ver choose to not understand, so they keep parroting their propaganda.

There is no way to solve the puzzle. On-chain transactions are only viable for bigger transactions, unless you want to centralize the network.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Coins disappeared after importing wallet to BitcoinABC - help ! on: August 23, 2017, 05:19:20 PM
No , my bitcoin-QT wallet is zero balance.
I hope it will get back when the network sync is over.
I removed bitcoin-ABC now . Just want to see my coins back...

Did you install the Bitcoin-ABC client in a different folder?

Notice that the bastards developing Bitcoin-ABC set the default Bitcoin folder for both the binaries and the blockchain files.

So this means, if you install Bitcoin-ABC in the same computer as you have your Bitcoin-QT (Core) client, the Bitcoin-ABC will overwrite everything on these folders...

You should also not use the same wallet.dat file on your Bitcoin-ABC folder until you move all of your coins into a new wallet.dat, then, use the existing wallet.dat (now empty in the Bitcoin blockchain) into the Bitcoin-ABC folder and when you sync it you will be safe to move your BCH around.

Then I would look at Riccardo Spagni aka fluffypony videos which is the main dev of Monero:

There's endless resources on the internet, just search about ring signatures.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should i buy Gbyte now? on: August 23, 2017, 12:34:45 PM
Byteball is dipping. As compared to its position in the previous weeks and month, it is down below. But I doubt if it is a great time to buy right now. There is still a bigger room down there considering the very high price per GBYTE. I am not doing some serious analysis though. This might grow bigger on the contrary.

It's all about accumulating along the way. Let the coin supply get filled during the airdrops, once the airdrops arrive to the end, the buy pressure will make the coin go up, but until then the inflation will be too big for price descovery, so unfortunately I don't expect a solid price rise of GBYTE until months from now.

But sooner or later GBYTE will shine like no other coin. IOTA is from what I've read, a scam, and the rest of the coins have PoW/PoS problems, so GBYTE will be the best coin ever.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should i buy Gbyte now? on: August 22, 2017, 03:09:03 PM
It's right after the airdrop that was on the full moon, this is when most people sell, yes it's a good time to try to get it cheap, look at the chart it's in the buy zone, I personally try to get it below 0.1, hold until right before the next full moon and sell, or good time to hold in your byteball wallet to get the airdrop ofcourse. Anything close to 0.1 is good because close the airdrop it usually spikes up to 0.25

The next airdrop is on september 6. I finally linked all of my BTC addresses this time, so im ready to get a lot of GBYTE in the next airdrop.

Honestly this is one of the best, if not the best altcoin out there. The price going down is misleading because of the ongoing inflation, but it is undervalued, the technology is so interesting and it's not a scam contrary to most altcoins.

If I didn't have any BTC to get GBYTE from the airdrops I would for sure buy GBYTE right now and hold long term.

With this coin you know there will never be blocksize drama, and that is a big plus.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IRS Now Has a Tool to Unmask Bitcoin Tax Cheats on: August 22, 2017, 02:01:27 PM
I just came across this article and I am not really sure that how it's going to work but as far as I know, we have two different mindsets among the Bitcoin users and some of them have no hesitation to pay taxes on their Bitcoin earnings and some of them are not willing to pay any tax.

* IRS Now Has a Tool to Unmask Bitcoin Tax Cheats.

Quote
The Internal Revenue Service has purchased specialist software to track those using bitcoin, according to a contract obtained by The Daily Beast. Chainalysis, a startup offering its “Reactor” tool to visualize, track, and analyze bitcoin transactions. Chainalysis’ users include law enforcement agencies, banks, and regulatory entities. The software can follow bitcoin as it moves from one wallet to another, and eventually to an exchange where the bitcoin user will likely cash out into dollars or another currency. This is the point law enforcement could issue a subpoena to the exchange and figure out who is really behind the bitcoin.

What is your opinion about this? Let's discuss what is community thinking about this kind of tool.

Well it is to be expected that they will come after you when you sell your coins in an exchange. If you want to sell your coins for fiat, then pay your taxes and sleep better at night. If/when I sell my BTC for fiat, I will just pay my taxes, there's no way around it, I would rather pay and not be stressed about getting caught.

Meanwhile, you can just hold your BTC for years until you are rich and not pay any taxes meanwhile, just like you don't tax holding gold, you don't pay tax holding BTC (until you sell for fiat).

If I sell my BTC, it must be high enough for me to buy a house or something meaningful, otherwise I will just hold it.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 22, 2017, 12:23:49 PM
The Bitcoin Cash blockchain is currently operating at 7% of the original chain's difficulty.

It is currently 78.6% more profitable to mine on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain.

Fun huh?

Where did you get that stat from? sounds ridiculous. According to this website:

http://fork.lol/

Quote
The DARI (Difficulty Adjusted Reward Index) is a way to compare the rewards of two chains that share the same reward system. The following calculation is used to determine the DARI:
(block coinbase+fees in satoshis) / (block difficulty) * (exchange rate[1] in USD)

With this result we can compare the two chains. For example, using the DARI of the last block we can estimate that a BCH miner could potentially collect (12.65 / 6.78 =) 1.86x the reward (in USD) that a BTC miner could collect.

So it loos like it's gone down. I wonder for how long this can be sustainable. I hope it lasts because I still go to sync my damn ABC node.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 21, 2017, 04:30:41 PM
Look what we have here:

https://github.com/btc1/bitcoin/issues/34

It's a matter of fact Gavin Andresen gets involved. The usual suspects as always. Instead of contributing in Core, Gavin ALWAYS goes around whatever the fork of the hour is. He has been in XT, Classic, Unlimited, Cash and now im sure will start either contributing or promoting segwit2x. This pisses me off so much. It's clear their only goal is to get rid of Core devs and fork the network. I hate that they have been able to bribe a bunch of exchanges and mining power and now the dumb bulk of the population is going to be brainwashed into thinking segwit2x is BTC. Someone must stop this scam.

PS: Is there a thread to follow the NYC/segwit2x thing and comment with people along the way as thing happen? The thread by ck was closed.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero XMR to be listed on Bithumb! on: August 21, 2017, 03:31:07 PM
That explains the crazy rise! Good news!

I was also looking for answers about the recent Monero pump. It has been a good 60% jump out of nowhere, I was not able to find the news, but this looks like it's what accused the price surge.

The question now is: It is too late to jump on the train now? As we all know "buy the rumor, sell the news".

Now it's yet to be seen if Bithumb's volume itself can continue the pump or it will be limited to the news.

Bithumb is known for driving coins up with the impressive volume... the BCash pump started there as a matter of fact.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and BCH Difficulty Adjustment, Total Supply, and Price on: August 21, 2017, 02:42:53 PM
BTC's difficulty is adjusted every two weeks so that a block can be solved in 10 minutes.  Approximately, the Bitcoin reward is cut in half every 4 years.  Consequently, the supply of 21M will be maxed and fixed in Year 2140.

Does BCH follow the same rules?  I read that "Blocks are being processed rapidly now on the BCH chain as each block is being found every 3-7 minutes. " from https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-cash-mining-difficulty-drops-significantly-speeding-up-the-chain.  If that is the case and the 3-7 minutes block mining time sticked, won't the BCH supply increase faster than BTC's and reaches the maximum supply sooner?

A reduction in the mining difficulty also means that the transactions in the block can be processed quicker and the transaction fee be lower.  How would that affect the price?

BCH is exactly the same as BTC, but it has 8MB blocksize and no segwit. That is all. Difficulty adjusts the same, total supply will be the same at 21M in about 2140... the difficulty adjustment I think was different during the first block where they had to mine the 1+MB block to actually get the thing working.

I think im right, but if someone wants to correct me then go on.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash lost? First time successfully, second time the coins are gone :-/ on: August 20, 2017, 03:31:08 PM
Hello,

i would like to ask about BCH/BCC claim via Electron Cash. I have done this one time already successfully few days after the fork, but when trying to do it again now, it shows me some outcoming transactions and that balance is emtpy.

So to explain, first i have moved my BTC out of the paper wallets, then i have downloaded the newest Electron Cash 2.9.2 from their "official" website http://www.electroncash.org/

I have run the .exe file, imported BIP38 decrypted private keys and it has worked...the BCC/BCH were there, i have sent it to the exchange and sold it. I have left some more paper wallets unclaimed thinking that BCC/BCH could have some big pump, which kind has now...So i tried to add new wallet on the Electron Cash, i have added the 2 decrypted BIP38 private keys and it has imported, BUT there immediately apperead some outcoming transactions but i didn't send any coins anywhere...It was almost immediately after i have imported the private keys...

I don't know if that could be some virus or more a bug, because if it would be virus, why would it work for me in the first time??? I don't get it :/

I had 10 and 10 BTC separated on 2 paper wallets, so there should be also 10 and 10 BCC/BCH...these are the addresses:

1F1KAdCQsFpZTG6DQeg1QSvD7v3tMYHGuL

127iJueRDoffxKKbfTBktDLsbRYXpobR1d

I don't get it why it would have to work 1st time and 2nd time it would be malicious? I didn't update it, nothing

Please is there any way to restore the BCH/BCC coins?

Thank you for help

This is insanely scary. People always say, "NEVER decrypt your private keys, send the keys to yourself if you want to move between wallets that you own", which is what im going to do, I will send my coins from Bitcoin Core to Bitcoin ABC clients, with transaction, not export/import the set of private keys, because you are exposing yourself doing so...

Honestly I don't know what to tell you. If the coins moved, and you didn't send the transaction, then it has to be a virus of sorts. I would save all relevant data (no executable or anything that could trigger a script) and format the computer.

Did you do the private key exporting with Windows??

You should have used something like Tails and of course with internet offline, to guarantee maximum isolation.

Can you post the address where the coins have been sent to?
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jeff Garzik's (SegWit2x developer) 180 on: August 20, 2017, 01:07:40 PM
It shows how he has gone from pro-sovereign bitcoin to big blocker camp, and it's always the same with these guys, they go work with the banks and become big blockers.

He contradicted himself with so much stuff of what he is doing now. And he is being so aggressive lately in Bitcoin. He claims that everyone under the NYC thing is still going to follow the agreement and that (I quote) "SegWit2x will become Bitcoin" and "the price will be higher than the legacy chain".

Looks like Jeff Garzik thinks he can get away with it and not only avoid a price crash, but make the price go higher than the original chain...
255  Other / Meta / Re: [SMAS] Signature Managers against Spam (light version) on: August 20, 2017, 11:33:57 AM
Anyone knows how long does it take for yahoo62278 to review your posts to get off the SMAS list on his managed campaigns? I sent him a PM like a week ago and still no reply. My ban was during the bitmixer campaign I think.

Do I need to get off both lists or if I get off from yahoo62278's it's enough to participate on yahoo62278 managed campaigns?

Do I also need to contact Lauda? Lauda asks for the round of the ban, I would need to look it up. yahoo62278 asks for something or only contacting him?
If your ban is from Bitmixer, then you will have to contact Lauda for it and also if you are on more than one list, then you will have to contact both managers. However, I think for Lauda you will have to wait for 60 days and for Yahoo maybe 30 or 60 days. You can read through the thread to know more. Also, you will have to check the thread yourself to know the round you have been banned then follow the steps that is being set in other to get off the list.

So I need to contact both is what I understand from what you are saying. But what im asking is.. does yahoo request any data? Lauda asks for the round of the ban (which I still have to look up) but does yahoo asks for something or you just contact him? because in the thread he doesn't say anything other than "contact me for a review".

It depends on whether he banned you himself or just copied your name from my list.

He probably just copied my name. I will look for the round ban later. I guess I can find this in the bitmixer signature thread.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any information on the next bitcoin hardforks?bcash and legacy? on: August 18, 2017, 04:21:06 PM
yes you are right but bitcoin cash and bcash are 2 differents Project bcash would be a new fork and legacy the bitcoin chain before segwit there would be several new bitcoin Blockchains.Which one would be the winning chain?people are holding bitcoin cash not dumping and it,s getting easier to mine miners are going to make more profit with bitcoin cash could there be a change from segwit bitcoin to bitcoin cash from the people and miners?

Bitcoin Cash is the same as BCash, but the nutjobs on /r/btc became mad about some people talking about Bitcoin Cash in terms of BCash so someone else create an altcoin to steal that name so people can't no longer keep calling it BCash.

The winning chain will be the one that has the highest market price, because miners will be mining whatever is more valuable, in other words, the legacy chain. Segwit2x (if they are stupid enough to hardfork) will end up like BCash.

Miners won't necessarily mine on the chain with the highest market price. The ratio of market price to hashing power is what matters. If one chain has significantly lower hashing power, then you might get more coins if you mine on that chain.

Sure, but you will get less valuable coins. You can speculate a bit if you want with your hashrate, but overall you are wasting your time, and it can end up really badly.

If we could get past the segwit2x nonsense, we could hit $10,000 by next year, but I suspect we are going to crash badly again, all thanks to Jeff Garzik and miners supporting the wrong software and the wrong roadmap. There's a fight for power and for the bitcoin brand and Jeff Garzik is now leading this fight, a guy that used to criticize people attempting to get ahold of the Bitcoin brand, is now doing it himself. His agenda has obviously changed and he is probably paid to do so.

I want to see Jeff Garzik explain to holders how his idea was good when the price crashes badly.

https://eveningstar.io/asset/bitcoin-cash/

Spiked yesterday around 10am. Does this have to do with miner Parity or what?
It's just the same good ol process of a pump.

1) Price is pumped
2) Noobs browse what is being pumped
3) Noobs see the price graph and the search graph going up
4) Noobs buy the top
5) Roger Ver and the other manipulators dump and short Bitcoin Cash

The coin is a scam no matter how much they pump it.

About seeing the total holdings... I can't check it on the software itself? that's pretty dumb.
Of course you can, but you'll need to check all your wallets one by one.

Unfortunately most don't take it seriously because of the name (yeah, I know it’s stupid… but these are some serious investors).
When I mention "Byte balls" to someone, it gives very weird responses indeed. Calling them "GBYTE" is also confusing, as it's a standard term related to computers.
I understand why the name was chosen though.

But what's pretty stupid is that you need to get your calculator out and sum all the different wallets... why can't the software show me the total amount of all wallets? I dont want to be needing to sum everything everytime I receive payments... don't you see that it is pretty dumb? just show me the total holdings..
