FTFY  I find back-and-forth games like hockey, soccer, and basketball to be rather boring. I prefer more cerebral sports like baseball and gridiron "foot"ball. I like a bit more strategy than "shoot or pass". That said, I did enjoy yesterday's FIFA football game. We were sitting in a tourista restaurant in Playa del Carmen eating enchiladas when Liverpool scored their 3rd and 4th goals. Needless to say the whole place went nuts. The look on the Barcelona goalkeeper's face was priceless. It seems the whole world was rooting for Liverpool. Even I found it exciting. |

Sideways at $5.7k I see... currently $5737USD/$7715CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Dental work proceeding on schedule. Had 2 sessions of prefitting already and will have 1st test set of teeth installed on Thursday. Final set installed sometime next week after adjustments, then further adjustments and fine tuning to follow. Total procedure should take about 3 weeks then I'll be set for life.
Ran up to the jungle for 3 nights last week just in time for the electrical service change-over to 240v and a chance to supervise installation of new circuitry Also got the chance to bring down enough kitchen equipment to turn our $20/night hotel room into a nice cosy studio apartment for Laura and me. Nothing like healthy, cheap home-cooked food in a great environment, half a block from the beach and half a block from the live music bar where I have a VIP discount card.
Life is good. Thank you Bitcoin.

A ridiculously early good morning Bitcoinland. Sorry but 7:00AM is past my usual bedtime. Gawd I hate farmers' hours. Sitting at the airport waiting for my plane.

Hopefully by the time I fly back up with my new teeth and lovely young girlfriend Bitcoin will be up over $6k. I'll have to buy some dollars when I get back. Taking down bucks I bought when Bitcoin was over $5.5k. This barely over $5k crap is bullshit.

Good morning Bitcoinland. My last day in Toronto for a month.
Prices are pretty steady going sideways for now... currently $5274USD/$7106CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Luckily I bought greenbacks for my dentist before the price dipped a few days ago. Got almost $5.6kUSD per coin with 3% total exchange cost.
Hopefully prices will be up by the time I get back in June and have to buy some more fiat to pay down my credit card and meet June's expenses.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Back in Toronto after a week in Mexico City.
I see we're continuing upward... currently $5568USD/$7466CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Good thing because I have to start selling some Bitcoin starting today so I can start converting to USD to take down to Playa del Carmen on Monday to get my final teeth. Can't change more than $2kUSD at a time without showing ID so I'll be doing this all week. Gawd I hate snooping by nosy governments and other corporations.
My lovely Mexican GF is convalescing at her mother's place in Mex City after successful medical procedures and will fly down to meet me in Playa. Hopefully she'll be waiting for me at Cancun airport.

Bad new for the superstitious... I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight to Mexico City.
This wasn't planned. My lovely Mexican GF is having a medical emergency and is flying up to MC from Cancun this afternoon to see the far superior doctors in MC. I want to be waiting for her at the airport when she arrives to take care of her.
Hopefully we'll get her fixed within a week and I can fly back up for a week or so before flying back down to Cancun on April 29 for my final dental work.
If she had a passport I'd be bringing her with me. While we're in the big city maybe we can get her one.
Good news for the superstitious... I'll be flying back up in early June for the rainy season and will be in Canada until probably November after the hurricane season.

My first computer (games console) was a Commadore Amiga, 500 Plus.  Great little machine, years ahead of its time. If Commodore hadn't bankrupted itself with an ill-advised foray into gaming consoles, the Apple Mackintosh would have withered on the vine. The Amiga had it beat for graphics and sound and the PC ruled the business world. What a loss. |

The battle for $5k rages on. Go Bitcoin go. i will never own an alexa/google/amazon voice activated device, unless there is an actual physical switch to cut the mics out of circuit.
i didnt really understand fully the ramification till the other day when i was going over with my wife how to recover my btc stack in case of my death. i was going to tell her the passphrase to my trezor (it would be written down also, this was just for discussion). but when i was going to tell the the passphrase i stopped. because while i dont own an alexa/google/amazon device, i do have a smartphone and smart watch, which have mics of course.
so here i am in my own house, wondering if anything i say might go out to servers that humans can access (humans review random snips of voice data).
wtf, my own home, which i have spent considerable time and money hardening both physical and electronic networks, is useless if the closed source algo that trigger sending data for no fully understood by the end user.
btw many modern tvs have mics and web cams built in now. and IoT stuff like security cameras, some of which have mics so you can use then for intercoms, are notoriously bad at security and most will never get updates.
so much the attach surfaces are pretty big.
now i dont assume my phone and watch and compromised, but with the amount of money i have in btc it would be foolish to at least consider these scenarios,
like any smartphone or laptop with a built in mic is powered off and put in another room when setting up wallet seed words. paranoia? sure but it is based on failings of the current tech used.
The only sure way is to unplug everything and remove the batteries. |

I wouldn't bundle jbreher with stolfi. And The Roach is just on another plane of existence. I agree. While all 3 may come across as trolls, they differ greatly. He gives the impression of being a frustrated, bigoted little man who probably lives in Mom's basement and soothes his feelings of inadequacy by consuming too many carbs. There's no comparison. |
