Looks like it's gonna flash crash back to about 225. "Looks like"...? You can see the future? Well I say it looks like it is about to go to $10K! So if we average our prices we can be sure it is about to go to $9700! Actually if you average them it's about to go 5112.5$. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) lol, as I wrote that post I was thinking "This is not really an average." I just roughly subtracted his prediction. However since none of us can know the future, accuracy is not a factor.

I would just say "Grandpa, Bitcoin is money."

Someone who thinks buying bitcoin is too hard must have a hard life. I guess he'll never buy a car or rent an apartment. Come to think of it, how did he manage to create an account here? That seems way too hard.

![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) So Muhammed pliagerized? How come I am not suprised. This same religion preaches hate, violence, statutory rape, Jihad etc. Get your facts straight.Perhaps you are not following the thread properly and posting after reading the title ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) My facts are right. I read this news on another website. If true, then it implies that "Gabriel" did not give Muhammed the 1st copy of the Quran as is widely believed by muslims. It means Muhanmed lied . That is not the tradition. Mohamed had a series of visions in which the Koran was reveled, but not in written form. Of course he was drawing on earlier beliefs. Just like the bible is comprised of material borrowed from other religions, the Koran included the Abrahamic stories. If you knew religion then you would also know that Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc..., all have violent beliefs that allow for murder and rape. Once you understand that these are all just ideas of people and people are delusional, violent and horny; then it's easy to understand.

I think I'll take this bet. Now, who is sending me the written guarantee? For me that is the most important part. This guarantee assures me that no matter what I will be paid as a winner. That is what a guarantee is. So who is the backer?

If a guy on the street who is wearing a mask asks you for $10 and says that he will be back in 5 hours to give you $20, would you give him the money? Because that is basically what is happening here.

Then the carbon dating data would point to a period after 1815, not before the birth of mohamed, when, I believe, few american indians would be using coal for their iron horses...
No, if it got contaminated with "old coal" like the smoke of black coal or anthracite (low C14) then it changes the C12/C14 ratio in favour of C12, therefore the carbon dating will show it older. If you burning "new coal" like logs, peat (C14 is still high) it will modify the ratio in favour of C14 so the dating will show it newer then it's real age. Then those scientists did not know what they were doing and will be tarred and feathered soon... All these factors are taken into account when testing a sample. With velum it may involve meticulous scrubbing of the sample and/or solvent baths. It's not my expertise, but my wife is a medieval historian who works with theses kinds of documents all the time. If you have time, and if she cares, it would be great to have a professional opinion from her right here. After she had time to go through as much as info as possible regarding this subject... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I will ask her about it. I'm curious also. However her expertise is in medieval music notation, so beyond the carbon dating of the vellum I don't know how much she can contribute. It would be nice to know someone who knows about the written script. Just as you can distinguish between a writer from the 1930's, they may be able to narrow down the date by the style of the writing.

I would love it if someone "swatted" me. It is illegal and they are going to face the music in court. But the reason I would hope to be swatted is profit. I would have a great civil suit and I doubt their lawyer would ever let it get to court. I would just drive by their house and pick out a car I want. Or better yet a cool boat, oh I hope they have a boat. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) How many victims of swatting have received similar luxurious compensation? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Don't know? but if you have a lawyer I think anyone would win. It is illegal to file a false police report and slander to make a false accusation. I would not care, when the swat team got there they would be like "Oh hi Rich, how you been? You gona shoot with us this week at the club?".

Of course I am not a muslim and maybe there are 1000's variations of the koran...?
There are probably thousands of variations of the Qur'an, but in accordance with Islamic beliefs there is only one true Qur'an. That is why there has been many disputes about whether or not a translated Qur'an is the true Qur'an. Was that koran found a true koran or not? I bet that will be hard to answer. kinda like which of these is the true Bible? https://www.bible.com/versionsAnd this is only a partial list that does not include my choice, an ancient Aramaic version.

There has to be some sort of hidden agenda for this... ? Why act as a intermidiatary for charities or is this just a opportunity for a test run, to see if it can be implemented for everything else... or just a publicity stunt to say... "We were first" ..... Time will tell, if their actions is purely motivated by greed or by social wellfare. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I am glad a multi national like that is interrested in Bitcoin, so let's celebrate that... they could have gone with another Alt coin, and they did not.. that is a huge plus in my books. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) A few months back i remember reading an article about how much banks/credit issuers make from charities. It was a quite shocking amount of money that should have gone to help people. Perhaps they are concerned about BTC donations eating into these profits? Here is something about it: http://www.moneytalksnews.com/donating-charity-donating-bank/Even if the charities use bitcoin as payment method, they will have to convert that bitcoin into fiat. And the banks will take a cut of that conversation. Charity needs to operate solely on bitcoin like paying staff in bitcoin, buying supplies with bitcoin, distributing financial help into bitcoin in order to operate without those high bank fees. I agree. And in the short term they would do better with BitPay or Coinbase.

Can you take a gun to jail? Can you make a knife in jail? These are the things discussed on chapter 36 of my new book "How not to be raped in the first week of Jail"!
What do you do after the first week?! That made me laugh out loud. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) My guess is I would only hold out for a few hours, even using the book as a weapon. ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif)

You will also want to make sure that what YOU were doing is legal. Have you paid your tax on the bitcoins that have appreciated? Was this a mixer or gambling or other illegal operation? If it was then you may be the one who gets caught. No judge is going to award you money for your attempted tax evasion. Any good grifter knows that step 1 is to involve the mark in something he can't go to the cops about or that he is ashamed to admit.
