Who cares about fiat money Huh

Banksters and zombies.
2422  Economy / Economics / Re: This idea might save Bitcoin low trade volums on: April 21, 2013, 10:22:42 AM
We must first assume that low trade volumes are bad.  If there's no work to be done, you've got low trade going on.  If there's a lot of work to be done, you'll have more trade.  Lighting a wick on someone's wallet every time they stop spending is an artificial way to keep an economy moving.  People should have the freedom to spend their cash as they please.  There's nothing wrong with holding; they'll spend it when they deem it appropriate.

I believe it's time to break free from the spell that is fiat; we're so used to our money disappearing in smoke if we wait too long to spend it (as a cause of inflation.)  I believe a deflating currency in times which work is becoming more and more scarce is a god send.

Is this man Jesus?  I'm getting my ass out of Texas if he makes this happen.  Hell, maybe more states will follow his lead.

For the most part the alt cryptos are a waste of time.  Until bitcoin catches on mainstream what's the point of having the alts?

Fat early adopter profits Cheesy

I think the Bitcoin ATM is a great way to achieve this goal. Any ideas on the price and availability?

The BTC ATM would definitely improve availability.  Unfortunately, it's going to be attached to the Gox price, further increasing the centralization of the price of Bitcoin.

I'm not sure; I've seen a few more exchanges open recently, but everyone still flocks to the Gox.  How do we stop them?  If they'd hurry up and shut down operation in the US, the transition would finally happen.
2431  Economy / Economics / Re: On "intrinsic value" and why it actually means "subjective value" on: April 21, 2013, 03:55:26 AM
I have no idea where people got this "intrinsic value" stuff from.  Something has value because we prescribe it value.  That is all.

I told you already where intrinsic value comes from. Try surviving without the star we call our Sun. It has intrinsic value to us. It's essential to our survival.

Sorry, I hadn't read your post Grin  I can't think of an argument against that; however, intrinsic value when applied to gold makes little sense, which is where I often see it coupled.  It has some handy qualities but nothing we couldn't live without.

I addressed gold in the same post! o_0

I'm going back to bed lol

(if your friend spams, you get banned too!)

That's actually how the Newgrounds Art portal works; you have to get recruited by another artist, and if you fuck up, the entire chain gets pulled from being able to post onto the portal.  I like it a lot, TBH Grin  It filters out all the newbie artwork and leaves the good stuff.
2434  Economy / Economics / Re: On "intrinsic value" and why it actually means "subjective value" on: April 21, 2013, 03:36:41 AM
Hypothetically, a pill that absolved the body of a certain type of cancer would have an incredible amount of value.

However, because I have a cancer-free body, as do my peers and relatives, I prescribe it no value.

Thus, the value of said pill would be subjective.  The objective value would be the cost of production.

I have no idea where people got this "intrinsic value" stuff from.  Something has value because we prescribe it value.  That is all.

The only problem I have with eating dog (never have btw) is that they're so intelligent.  I can eat a dumb ol' chicken.  And cows don't do much but eat and make milk.  But a dog knows what's up.
2437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Bitcoin eBook store looking for a few testers on: April 21, 2013, 03:24:39 AM
The Kindle format (I forget what it is exactly) would be dandy.  I think it's .mobi.  Also, .pdf would be good too.

Would it be possible to list a novel without a price tag on it?  I'm releasing a novel soon that's going to include a BTC address so people would only pay for it if they liked it.

Finally, would it be possible to list the prices in Bitcoin instead of USD?  mBTC would be fine.

Perhaps I'm old-fashioned but I don't find:

BTC: 1Kqzbv4ekpJX3ohYWGEzMqzvf27VjBux35

very descriptive. I didn't even notice it after using the site for 2 hrs today. Why not say?

Bitcoin donations now accept: (and then replace their btc address with mine Smiley)

Hopefully they'll make a blog post about it, after this promo runs.
