And how does that make you feel?

Just happened to be a training exercise...hoo boy.  "We're lying to you for your own good," more like it.
2623  Other / Off-topic / Re: you're in a boat on: April 16, 2013, 07:05:39 PM
You're up shit creek without a paddle Wink  Good one.

The character prescribed as God changes between novels.  I assume the "Christian God" is the New Testament version.

i have never claimed that i was not biased(i think...). whats your problem? libertards are libertards.

And statists are emotionless sociopaths.
2626  Other / Politics & Society / Re: This is the thread where you discuss free market, americans and libertarianism on: April 16, 2013, 06:39:07 PM
I still think anyone who would shoot me over money simply because it was no longer illegal still has a lot of living left to do.
2627  Other / Politics & Society / Re: This is the thread where you discuss free market, americans and libertarianism on: April 16, 2013, 06:28:29 PM
yes, based on rules i have to subjectively accept before i can do math, i could just reject them and be done with it.

But then you'd be a fruit Tongue  A pineapple, specifically, because I have to subjectively accept whether or not you're a human being.

"It's new and scary and how dare they endanger my American freedoms."

I'm guessing this is about the gist of it.  Industry is environmentally destructive; last time I checked, nobody was trying to shut down Ford, and those billions of car's exhaust every day going back and forth to work when a magnet train could do the same thing with less emissions and it would even be cheaper than fucking around with a car but ohh no lets not sacrifice our "Freedoms"--but Bitcoin?  Now that's just going too far!  Roll Eyes
2629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people never plan to repatriate BTC to FIAT on: April 16, 2013, 05:59:23 PM
We'll be buying land with btc in five years, assuming it's still around.

Bitcoin, or land?  Tongue

Well, if you wanna get technical, paper money is incredibly filthy.

Couldn't have it any other way.  Get the government out of my personal life, please and thank you.
2633  Other / Off-topic / Re: Netflix in HTML5 using W3C approved Encrypted Media Extensions for DRM on: April 16, 2013, 05:23:31 AM
That's weird.  I love my bay, but I pay for Netflix, on account of it being so cheap.  Some people just want everything to be free Tongue

Edit:  At the same time, many regions are blocked from using Netflix, so I can see why torrenting would looking attractive.

The switch started for me when I took a sociology course.  My professor was a dick, but he was completely honest about the state of the world, and by the end of the course, I couldn't believe all the things I missed before.

All I remember before then, as an adult, is working long hours, and before then, high school was a blur, where the only thing that mattered was staying thin and attractive (I don't remember why I cared, but I will admit to being an emo kid.)  It was actually the members here at bitcointalk that steered me in the right direction, where I found out about anarchism and AnCap and libertarianism.  Thank you guys Grin  Glad we have some actual intellectuals on this site.

What are they attempting to prevent, exactly?
2636  Economy / Services / Re: Graphic Designer + Web Designer (for hire) on: April 16, 2013, 04:36:05 AM
I certainly hope they're charging decently, then.  Even if it took just an hour, .185 (about 12 and fifty right now) per logo isn't exactly much.  When businesses are demanding logos left and right to fill up an entire day's worth of work, every day, non-stop, then it's a nice rate.  But once every now and then for a little extra on the side isn't a "rip-off."  It's not even part-time.

Further: those logos aren't very marketable.  They're all flash.  They look great artistically, but businesses (aside from a tattoo parlor maybe) aren't generally looking for logos like that.  I'm assuming they're using a 3D text tool and adding cool effects, which, as you say, doesn't take much time, which also implies it doesn't take much thought or effort into what the business actually needs for a logo.  Pick a font, add the effects, done.
2637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: whats the diff between bitcoin and litecoin on: April 16, 2013, 04:17:56 AM
This is the biggest problem I have with bitcoin, what is to stop people from jumping to the next currency each time to be early adopters?  There is nothing keeping them in bitcoin...

My peepeecoins are currently trading for ~20 cents.  They've been this way for a while now.  I wouldn't recommend jumping on a different currency.  I don't know if they're ever going to hit the dollar mark.
2638  Economy / Speculation / Re: OH GOD STOP SELLING! IF ONLY YOU WOULD STOP SELLING WE WILL ALL BE OK! on: April 16, 2013, 04:17:01 AM
I'm assuming we're headed for the "despair" phase if this trend keeps going downward Tongue
2639  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTCPAK for LTC? on: April 16, 2013, 04:04:45 AM
Why do people buy ltc? There is nothing you can do besides hold it.

You can also trade it with anyone who accepts LTC Tongue
