2441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just in case on: September 05, 2021, 07:40:07 AM
When people talks about diversity in crypto space they only point at big projects and small projects combined but no one ever talk about their life savings, I've seen people putting all they have into crypto and yes they have more than 5 coins in their portfolio but is this the smartest move?

Personally I think the smartest move is to have some funds offline as well, if you know what diversity means then you should be smart enough bro know that nothing is guaranteed, have some money 💰💰 offline and some online (crypto and other), putting all your eggs in one basket is bad and too much of everything is also bad

I see cryptos as a really interesting investment opportunity where it is really still possible to make a x100 of your investment within a couple of days. I don't know any other financial product where you can achieve such high returns in such a short amount of time. On the other hand an investment into crypto is also extremely risky. It is very much possible that you lose 100% of your funds because of a rugpull or some other reason. So the first and most important rule should always be to never invest more than you can afford to lose.
2442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are athletes also becoming problem gamblers? on: September 04, 2021, 08:59:16 PM
Accordingly to this article, athletes are more prone to developing gambling addiction than another individuals: Athletes and problem gambling: what do you need to know?

They present the following reasons to justify potential levels of addiction among players and athletes:

I don't know but i just don't believe that most of the points that you have listed as a reason are really true or based on facts. For example the statement that athletes are more prone to become addicted to gambling because they have a high IQ. I am pretty sure that this statement is true in 2 ways. First i would say that people with a high IQ are not as prone to become gambling addicts as people with a low IQ. Secondly i don't think that atletes have a higher than average IQ.
2443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trends for altcoins in September on: September 04, 2021, 07:24:57 PM
I think the market will have a few months for altcoins or in September

I am thinking of some trends
- NFT
- Top altcoins
- Polkadot ecosystem
- Solana

I agree sith most of your points but i am not so sure about the whole polkadot thing. The project and their whole eco system was extremely hot a few weeks ago but at the moment there are other blockchains that are more in the Focus of the people at the moment, like Solana, avax and cardano. Also i think the fact that the supply of dots is unlimited scares of a lot of potential Investors. There are just other coins out there that have way better token economics and mechanics.
2444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: September 04, 2021, 05:34:33 PM
In the end, Hamilton managed to recover the gap but it was not enough to take the pole position.
Perez is such a mediocre driver he reminds me about Bottas.

As often happen Gasly shines in qualy, he deserved the spot in RedBull over Perez imho.

I could not watch the qualifying today but i was very happy when i heard that verstappen managed to get the pole position for the race tomorrow. I also read that the mercedes has some problems with that steap curve that is pretty special and as far as i know there is only one more turn like that during the whole year, in the US grand prix. I hope that verstappen manages to win the race tomorrow so that the championship is completely open again.
2445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discipline and knowledge are both important on: September 04, 2021, 03:54:32 PM
It isn't being disciplined that keeps you afloat in the cryptocurrency industry, it is one factor, yes, but the major one is knowledge.

I agree with you that knowledge and especially discipline are both very important factors but i also want to add that in my opinion the most important factor is still luck. I invested in some projects recently that have, at least in my opinion a great usecase a good Team and a well thought through roadmap with achieveable and realistic goals. Yet some of this projects are still below their presale price while other projects with zero usecase make 100x and more.
2446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 03, 2021, 01:54:24 PM
https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/la-liga-betting-shirt-sponsors-2020-21-season

The new law has knocked down strongly all the preferred advertising options for betting business. They cannot, for example, be on a teams shirt nor celebrities from sports are allowed to promote betting houses or platforms. Also, the adds in TV can only be run late at night. Needless to say that is a torpedo on the finances of several teams and may affect their ability to recruit and maintain the right players.

Teams directly affected:
Quote
Alavés (Betway), Cádiz (Dafabet), Granada (Winamax), Levante (Betway), Real Betis (Betway), Sevilla (MarathonBet) and Valencia (Bwin).

It is always weird when countries introduce laws which only have the goal to change the way that adults spend their free time because i don't think that any country has the right to do that. Everyone that has reached the legal age can do whatever he wants in his free time and with his money, if this activity is legal of course.
That being said, a gambling addiction hits in most cases those people that are already poor and also easier to manipulate. Therefore it can make sense, from a certain point of view, to forbid that sports stars and other celebrities are advertising for sports betting. I doubt though that i will have any effect.
2447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SOL is already $144, can still buy it? on: September 03, 2021, 01:49:57 PM

Unbelievable,

SOL was only $1 last year, now is $144

It is 144 times that of a year

Can I still buy it? Which is next one?

I don't own any Solana myself and i am also pretty sad about that to be honest considering the fact i was subscribed to their newsletter way before their token got listed on the exchanges but somehow i lost track of it and now everyone that invested early into that project made a huge amount of money. I personally would not invest now though, as you already said yourself Solana already did a x144 and i think at the moment the price for Solana is just too high and i think we will see a correction pretty soon. If we see a new altcoin season in the next months i am sure that solana can also reach 200$ and more but i think other altcoins will definitely see bigger gains then.
2448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which game should I focus? on: September 03, 2021, 10:43:24 AM
I have been gambling for a while and I don't still get the consistency that I love.

I have different games already, both skilled-based and luck-based types of games, I was told that I should focus on skilled-based games as there's a chance to be successful to develop my skills as a gambler.

So I like to ask, have you ever thought of making money in gambling consistently? If so, what type of gambling did you focus on?

I doubt that there are games out there where you can earn real money that are completely skill based because i don't think that would work out pretty well for the casinos. I think that in the end even those so called skill based games are still purely luck based. Maybe you could call poker a little bit skill based because there it is also very important that you can read the body languages of your opponents even if they try to hide their feelings and of course you need to be able to hide your emotions from the other players. This of course is also only true for real life poker and not for online poker. My advice would be to gamble because you have fun doing it and to get excited whenever you win something but don't go in with the strict plan that you are now consistently need to make money from gambling.
2449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin or project dies? When and how? on: September 03, 2021, 10:37:40 AM
We all know that Some coins prpjects not make it long
They die so what the main reasons?
And how far the coin will go even if its bad project?
Let's Say you buy very low cap coin but most of them will reach top 20 coins.
Look at the fact how Fast ada uni and aave went to top 20-30 coins.

Question is Where will be end?  Can the top 10 or 20 coins disapeare?

So are there average statistics how far the coin goes Before it dies?

There are many reasons why a project can die. The first one would be that the project was always designed form the start to just be a quick cash grab for the team, so they just hopped on the current hype that is happening at the moment like Defi, NFT or play-to-earn games then they quickly created a website imagined a roadmap that is based on nothing and just launch the project on Uniswap or pancake swap and hope that they find a few poor fellas that ape in. After a few weeks it will be probably become obvious that the team is not delivering what they promise and the project will die.
To one of your other questions: I don't think that a project that is currently in the top 10 or 20 can really completely disappear anymore because those are all multi-million-dollar projects already so the only way that they would disappear would be a epic scam or a massive event like a hack or a critical error in the blockchain code or something.
2450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: September 02, 2021, 01:41:42 PM
Kimi retirement was inevitable, but still, it's sad to see these news. He is legend and one of few old school drivers remaining. I just remind that his debut was 20 years ago, it's such long time for motorsport.
I will really miss his legendary radio converstations.
Now Alonso is last driver from old school and it's great that he is going to stay in F1 for at least one season.

So russel now moves to mercedes. I guess hamilton is not very happy about that as he now may have a serious opponent in his own team again, that is something he didn't have after rosberg retired after the 2016 season. Kimi retires and Bottas will take his seat in the alfa romeo team, this also means that Mick Schumacher will have to stay at haas for at least another year. The only thing that i haven't read about yet is, who will fill up Russels seat at williams after he moves to mercedes.
2451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to the last quarter of 2021, prepare for the profit coming. on: September 02, 2021, 01:37:21 PM
Today marks the start of the last quarter of the year in cryptocurency and this  is when the profits usually comes in at its best considering if the year was a bullish one. You'll see new token gaining popular so will the scams so we have to be very careful. Choose your investment wisely as this could be the last quarter to experience profit before we enter a bear market next year.

I am definitely ready for a new altcoin bullrun as my portfolio consists mainly of pretty new projects that i purchased within the last half year or so by participating in their pre-sales via a launchpad. Those projects suffered massively during the dip that occured from the beginning of may until august and my portfolio lost more than 90% compared to it's ATH back in May. I hope we see another altcoin bull somehwere during this or next year because then some of my coins are also free of tax because i hodled them for more than 1 year.
2452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 02, 2021, 11:24:42 AM

Phones are not allowed, but if he has a bath room break that took so long, so we can't see what he is doing there? Maybe he was given signals or instructions or not.

But it's a big momentum breaker, specially if his opponent is on the rally, as in his match against Murray. And he did it again vs Adrian Mannarino and the crowd are not pleased by it.

Tsitsipas is using all the tricks in the manual to win a match but he is not gaining any popularity with this (on the contrary). They should make some official rules that a bath room break can only take 3-5 minutes or something like that to avoid situations like this.

I am surprised that tsitsipas used such a dirty trick to win a match, i mean so far he is or was probably one of the most popular players of the circuit and basically got cheered on wherever he has played. Djokovic is knowing for taking "tactical pauses" whenever he feels like it, for example calling for the doctor even though he is not really injured, just to break the momentum of the opponent. The problem is, you can't really tell right there on the court if he really is injured or not because a pain in the ankle or something can not be diagnosed that way.
I also think a bath break should take not longer than 5 minutes at max. and if you are not back by then you should get a punishment.
2453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum signaling the next bull run for other cryptocurrencies on: September 02, 2021, 11:18:53 AM
In the last few days, the ethereum price keeps rising while the giant of crypto Bitcoin was relying on between $47k to $48k but in the last 24 hours, the entire market has changed Bitcoin is heading to 50k while ethereum is in a new all-time high of $3750 since April 2021.

Will this market signal a new season for all the other cryptocurrencies, as the entire market looks bullish at this point?

Yeah the sudden price increase of Ethereum that happened yesterday came pretty much out of nowhere, at least for me. I still don't know what was the reason for that increase. Maybe some big investor or financial institute invested heavily into Ethereum, because most other projects did not increase in price yesterday so this was just a investment spike in ethereum. It is true though that a raising price of ethereum can signal, that other and smaller altcoins are also beginning to rise pretty soon, at least that is how it was in the past. First BTC was rising then ETH and other big altcoins and then a few weeks after that the small cap coins also rised.
2454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we do what China did to gaming with gambling? on: September 01, 2021, 03:49:05 PM
Recently China passed a law that says that there's a break for children for playing videogames, I like this regulation because it helps kids reconnect with physical world and at the same time make them not dependent or addicted to the virtual space. Now here's my question, can we do that to gambling too, it can probably help the people to take a break and cool their heads off when they're on a losing streak or it can also be a time for some reflection as to when did it all go wrong for them to lead to this point.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/08/31/tech/china-ban-video-games-minor-intl-hnk/index.html?espv=1

To be honest i don't really think that this law that china recently introduced is that bad. There are a lot of kids, and also very small kids, that are basically spending every free minute of their day in front of the smart phone or some other device to play some stupid mobile games that have zero value in terms of learning of increasing your general knowledge or stuff like that. Back in my childhood days we played at least warcraft 2 or diablo 2 on the PC  Wink.
It is something different though to introduce a law that limits the time that you are allowed to gamble, because gambling is only allowed for adults and i don't think any country would introduce a law that basically says adults how to spend their free time.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Groups Confirmed on: September 01, 2021, 07:22:02 AM

If there is one thing that Messi has no problem with, that is definitely to adapt to his players and understand quickly how to get the best out of them.

I do not think so. But that's what we're going to see now. It's the first time that Messi is at a club other than Barcelona.
For the quality of player that he is, he will adapt. But it's now that we'll see if he's capable of it or not.

I also think that it is definitely possible that messi will have some problems to adapt as he always seemed to be a guy that really enjoyed to be around people that he knows. He never seemed to have wanted to go to another league to learn a new language, a new culture and stuff like that. Now he basically had to go to Paris in order to continue to play football on a high Level. As far as i know he does not speak french nor english so he definitely will have some problems to communicate at the beginning.
2456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 31, 2021, 05:06:37 PM

This is making easier for them but also it is hurting the rank of league in Uefa they are currently ranked 4rth and they still hold 7 spots in European competition and it's unlikely that others will catch up with them but when they see that for example only Bayern advances in Champions League like semi-finals or beyond and other German clubs ends their European campaign in Griupe stages that can make Uefa to start make some changes.

The whole Uefa 5 year ranking has lost a lot of excitement and importance with the changes that have been made a few years ago. Before that changes only the 3rd place had 4 spots for the champions league (2 teams qualified directly and 2 teams have a chance through the qualifiers). Back then it was a pretty close battle between germany and italy most of the time. Now that the 4 top clubs all get the same amount of spots for the european competitions it is pretty boring, at least in the upper ranks. The difference between Germany and Portugal is extremely high and i doubt that Portugal can come close within the next few years.
2457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Can XRP Achieve $5? on: August 31, 2021, 05:01:49 PM
In the current cryptocurrency market, XRP is one of the most popular coins. Its popularity is increasing at a rapid rate on a daily basis. Its price is now low, but I believe it will rise in the near future. In the foreseeable future, I predict XRP will reach $5. You can invest in XRP if you wish to. If you invest in XRP, you will gain.

I am sorry but this just sounds like a pretty desperate attempt to shill the coin that you have probably the most of. I also disagree with your statement, that XRP's popularity is increasing every day. XRP is a pretty old project at least within the crypto space and if you look at the charts it is one of those old projects that didn't even come close to it's own ATH that it reached backed in the bullrun of 2018. So i would say that the popularity of XRP has decreased since then, even though the cryptomarket as a whole has grown since then. That is not a good sign for XRP if you ask me. One reason for that is the centralization of XRP, which is why a lot of crypto enthusiasts dislike XRP.
2458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 31, 2021, 09:32:20 AM
I really have not expected that Union Berlin will win against Gladbach with 2 goals.

Gladbach has made a bad start. The defeat against Union Berlin shows that the injured players cannot be replaced by their own players. But unfortunately there is no money for new players. So it will be difficult to achieve the season's goal

It really surprises me, that Gladbach has now only 1 point after 3 matchdays given the fact, that they made their point in the very first match against bayern munich. So i expected them to do very well in the next games after they managed to achieve a draw against the strongest Team of the League. So far they seemed to not have adopted yet to their new coach just like eintracht frankfurt. Gladbach plays against Bielefeld and Augsburg next and they should really win this 2 games.
2459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Plenty Baby Coins out there on: August 31, 2021, 09:14:06 AM
Honestly, Whenever i see any baby coin. Whatever kind of baby the coin it is, I stay away from them. As people now buy and hype coins with no use case, I choose to stay away from baby coins even if I'm gonna buy Shitcoins because i dont know why they are babies.
Any suggestions on what kinds coin to stay away from?

I have never heard the term Baby coin before so i am not really sure what you mean with that. If you mean new projects then i would say that not all new projects are bad and you need stay away from, because there are still new projects coming out every week, but of course there are also a lot of bad projects coming out each and every day. So you need to choose the right one. If you mean meme coins then i totally agree with you on that. I also stay away from projects like that.

The dota 2 ESL one fall Finals where great to watch and i am very happy for Tundra that they really managed to pull it off and even beat PSG.LGD in the grand final. What a shame that we will not see Tundra in this years TI, because they are very fun to watch with their unorthodox drafting, like the position 5 monkey King. PSG.LGD also did extremely well given the fact that they had to replace their normal mid Player with their Coach. They seemed to have a lot of fun and that they could have won the tournament with a little more seriousness.
