2441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Mining vs Buying on: November 07, 2017, 03:58:07 PM
Is it better to get BTC via mining or buying now?

It was no longer profitable early this year for mining. However, with the recent price surge, does mining becomes profitable now?

If yes, any suggestion? There are quite many cloud miner in the market.

Thanks.

There are so many miners already that are even competing with the little amount that can be mined based on the difficulty that would be witnessed in a gradual manner. And these set of people with large mining farms would probably get what an individual will get in 10 years maybe six months. Why would I as an individual would want to compete with such entity.

The point is everybody cannot feature in every areas of bitcoin while some will mine, others will do better at buying and that is exactly the point why buying is just the best now rather than bothering yourself about the latest graphics card or configurations and the likes. Even if mining is more profitable, I would stick to buying and holding.
2442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Relationships! on: November 07, 2017, 02:47:28 PM
I have an a friend which happen to be my officemate and we do gamble together because I influenced him in the online gambling.
At first it was fun because you shared ideas, by the way we are gambling in sports, but later it has become a competition so instead of helping each other we are competing but in the end we are still both losers, damn no one wins but the gambling sites, that's the reality.

This is what will eventually happen the moment one person is winning by virtue of choices made while the other is losing. Personally, I don't see any bad thing in going into a relationship with someone who gambles because I gamble too this will even deepen the level of understanding the other partner in knowing what he does to make money in his spare time after all partners sometimes have interest in common things be it politics, video games, going out, sports and if making money out of it should surface, there is nothing wrong in taking it up.

But where issue will arise is when they are both addicted, that is not something to encourage because it will then mean they both need therapy because they wont be able to help each other.
2443  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: staring new exchange NEED LARGE AMMOUNT OF BTC on: November 07, 2017, 01:39:35 PM
hello hope all is well!
PLZ living working here in dubai im looking to buy btc cheaper then my exchange prices 4-5 btc test order worth bellow exchange price can u plz help me first order 4-5 btc then once all good more:) 100-200 BTC IF U HAVE BUT I NEED ESCROW FOR OUR ORDERS as i am starting an exchange thank u

If anybody should PM you and offer to sell that amount below market price, then be very careful because that is a scam knocking at the door for you because that individual, will surely talk you out of using escrow no matter how you insisted on it, in addition to you conscious that you might not see that kind of a deal, you then will give in which is saying good bye to whatever you want to payment method you are using.

When someone wants to set up an exchange, its not compulsory you start with that amount, you should have been buying in vault even before launching at all. Another way is to open up your exchange to other coins by you buying them since they are way cheaper then encourage people to deposit in other to get them. With that you can then replenish your BTC and the likes but be very careful to those who might see it as an opportunity to dump.
2444  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: November 07, 2017, 09:01:18 AM
A few days ago, I had huge problems (through my fault), but support quickly helped me get out of this situation. You are amazing!

Thank you for dropping by to give a review but it would have been better if you use your real account to do that because I don't expect that you will open an account just to do that but at the same time, I respect your privacy.

Due to Segwit 2x fork which is expected Nov 16 we announce that ChipMixer will be taken offline before fork (a day or two) and it will be offline for a few days till fork situation get stable. To avoid same situation as with Bitcoin Cash - chips you receive after fork will not contain bitcoins on another fork (S2X).

How to prepare for fork:

- mix your coins beforehand - you may need them before mixing services get online
- redeem your vouchers beforehand - otherwise you will lose s2x coins
- keep your bitcoins at addresses you have private keys
- keeping your bitcoins at exchange may allow you to sell forked coin at higher price, but you risk non-forked coin
There are still many non redeemed vouchers and about one week left.

On the notice for people to take advantage of the upcoming offline that ChipMixer might face as a result of the fork, what are the plans put in place to manage the traffic that will arise from this. Because I have read about situations where chips are exhausted, or vouchers are not enough and some things like that. With this notice which surely will give rise to traffic, how are you preparing for it?.
2445  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Uruguay announces launch of own crypto currency on: November 07, 2017, 06:37:45 AM
Central Bank of Uruguay announces launch of  own cryptocurrency, lets discuss, what effect it will make for their economics.

Having read the article I don't see it as a lunch of their own cryto currency but an advancement of their payment and banking system because it's not even sure if they will base it on blockchain.

Even if they are launching I don't see it competing against rather as a way to send to the whole world that bitcoin has come to stay because if the blockchain can be adopted then bitcoin that relies on it is getting its basis which then mean those claiming that bitcoin is just increasing without any basis will have to start thinking otherwise.
2446  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking for opinion on hitbtc.com on: November 07, 2017, 04:48:21 AM
I was looking into using hitbtc.com because of their new post of them adding themselves in to fix club hitbtc.com/fix .
Have anyone have been using them previously to this change and what have changed?
Would you recommend anyone else into trying them out?
Would very much appreciate any feedback possoble!
Thank you in advance!

HiBtc is one of the exchange sites that have been around for a while and no issues so far in using them based on the transactions I have carried out the fees are moderate, the withdrawal wait time is short, support is active and the platform is generally flexible to use and finally their KYC is at a mild state for now but one issue I see is the decimal point that is allowed to be traded its shorter than some other trading platforms.

On the new change, I haven't visited them yet but if they would implement that, its probably for optimization of performance and keeping up-to-date with current demands of the nature of the market they operate.
2447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase in a nutshell on: November 06, 2017, 09:19:30 PM

Would you trust an exchange based in an English-speaking country which does not care enough to even proof-read their FAQ on such an important subject which concerns everyone to a man who entrusts Coinbase with their wallets?

The point at which Coinbase got to today is not somwothing that is that easy. Its as a result of consistency and integrity in the discharge of their function that have made them what they are to the extent that the moment a statement is release by Coinbase in support of a project, then expect it to blow your mind. Thats how far they have gone and the trust keeps increasing but that does not mean they are perfect. No.

On the part of being an English speaking country, I personally don't discriminate, I have use a Chinese exchange before, I have use a Chinese accelerator services before, the moment I can understand what is being passed and they can deliver what I need, it does not matter if its even Arabic.
2448  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Scam or not ? on: November 06, 2017, 06:35:34 PM
Guys i need your reviews about freebitco.in . I've heard its a scam but most of my friends said its worth  i am confused. Anybody here

who ever tried this faucets

If there is any site out there that have kept to his word since time past, it's freebitco.in to the extent that hardly will you see anyone who got to know about bitcoin by going the route if faucets, that have not heard about freebitco.in or that has not registered there. What happen is that after a while we all feel its a waste of time but at the time we were all claiming at one point or the other, it was someothing that kept us going.

The summary of it is that freebitco.in is one you can trust, they won't promised what they cannot fufil and are very much different from the entire cloud mining sites you have out there. I have been registered there and this is completely my opinion.
2449  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price Impact the Signature Campaign ?? on: November 06, 2017, 10:25:26 AM
As like me,I think all of the Bitcoin Talk Community waiting for New Campaign.
Since the Price of the Bitcoin is Increasing now,new Signature was not Started yet.
My suggestion for the Campaign Manager is you can reduce the Pay rates for the Campaign as compared to past.

I am waiting for the New Signature Campaign to start. ;)How many of you Huh

There is no way the price of bitcoin will not affect signature campaigns as most campaigns don't have the fund in hand before now so it becomes that expensive to run. Aside that, because of the fact that the market is so decentralized, the fee to be paid will hardly be uniform and that is another thing affecting the whole issue because when a campaign comes with an amount different from the average obtainable, only few people will show interest with the hope that higher paying ones will be out very soon.

I think the way out is where managers will fix the amount in fiat value to be paid in BTC as at the time of payment but that will also have its own disadvantages at the time of crashing prices because they will then have to pay more in BTC value.
2450  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how is this comapny selling btc at 85% of its value on: November 05, 2017, 05:49:54 PM
I don't speak Chinese, here's the link to their site.. if anyone could shed some light as to whats going on im sure it would be helpful to a lot of people here

https://www.huobi.com/

Thanks

Op must have been thinking of how to take advantage of the discounted amount on the exchange platform but unfortunately its not possible. Even if its not on that site, any other platform that display such high amount of discounted value, is a scam site that one needs to be weary no matter how they painted the site or the reputation it has garnered over the years.

What I expect HUOBI to have done is to put a statement on that website to show anyone visiting the current status of the site and its operation just like ViaBtc has done so that a clone phishing website will not use that as an avenue to scam unsuspecting individual looking for cheap coins across the internet.
2451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unsecured WiFi on: November 05, 2017, 10:46:19 AM
I really don't know how possible this is and thank you for bringing it to everyone who are guilty of being lackadaisical with connecting to the internet by wanting to take advantage of "free or cheap internet" not knowing you are endangering that your favorite coin that is on your system.

Even as simple as it is, there is a notification of the forum for someone who used an IP that has been used before on the forum and therefore blacklisted to pay certain amount in other to get it white listed and this is mostly due to the use of shared internet over the WiFi. I think we only need to be more careful.
2452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Government. on: November 05, 2017, 08:30:14 AM
Is it good combination about bitcoin and our current government? lets talk about this things if these two option was combined in the future, Our government used bitcoin and spread to every people in there countries. For me it is good. why?

Because:
1. Is good for all businessman for good transactions. Buy something and sell something.
2. Is good for payments needs to pay like billings every month.
3. For less time and moved for travelling on anywhere we want.
4. Its easy to transfer money from other country with less taxes. this favor is aprove for ofw's
5. Easy to transfer money if they needed immediately like emergencies. pay for medicine.

Theres a lot of good reason.

The way you see it, government have seen it the same way too because all the advantages bitcoin has is so obvious to anybody to see but they choose to be blind to it simply because they believe there are other alternatives to make that happen without using bitcoin.

Their only grouse is the inability to control bitcoin or because they could not unravel the people behind the users of bitcoin. Remove that from bitcoin you will see that they will fall in line. Its not that government is not open to innovation but they want the one they can control and bitcoin is not giving them that.
2453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100.000 new coinbase users in 24 hours. on: November 04, 2017, 04:03:13 PM
I’ve come across this news:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-exchange-coinbase-adds-100000-users-in-24-hrs-shows-surging-interest-in-crypto

At first, I couldn’t believe it, 100.000 new users are a lot of users. The article says it is due to CME announcement but what I think as a result of it is that it is just the beginning of the next push. Unless some major unexpected event happens, we are on a bull market for a while.

100,000 new users within 24hrs is quite a massive impression to make and its something to also be happy about and I really don't see why someone already in the crypto industry won't be happy about here because it then mean what we are looking forward to in relation to the penetration of bitcoin is happening sooner than we thought.

Where concerns need to be raised is if the people involved are really new users and not the same set of users who are just populating the numbers or if they are really new, are they making informed decisions about making decision based on the understanding of what bitcoin is all about rather than been ruled by the greed of making "cheap money".
2454  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How do you think, will states be able to regulate the crypto currency? on: November 04, 2017, 10:25:56 AM
Regulating bitcoin is going to be a difficult thing for government because they cannot centralise everything even though you shut down access to banks not to make support for exchange sites, transactions can still be carried on. People can chat via social media then make deals either through cash or bank transfer as an individual with that, sales has taken place.

However, where I see them being protected is not to go after individuals rather the exchange sites by allowing them operate and at same time making them comply with the KYC policies by that only those who want to do the right thing will be on exchange platforms while government and it's agencies can channel their effort on tracking down those who wouldn't use the exchange platform because of their illegal activities.

Someone Pleeeeaaassseee stop this madness

Bitcoin Silver Wants to ‘Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again’ Amid More 2x Rejections

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-silver-wants-to-make-bitcoin-decentralized-again-amid-more-2x-rejections

As more cryptocurrency exchanges drop support for SegWit2x, yet another fork may soon grace the industry in the form of Bitcoin Silver.

Coming less than a day after Bitcoin Gold forked from the BTC Blockchain, Bitcoin Silver’s developers wrote on the Bitcointalk forum they intend to “make Bitcoin decentralized again.”

Their description reads:

“...Bitcoin Silver will provide an opportunity for countless new people around the world to participate in the mining process with widely-available consumer hardware that is manufactured and distributed by reputable mainstream corporations.”

While no technical details are currently available, Bitcoin Silver will follow Bitcoin Cash-style distribution methods and be available to BTC private key holders in December. The exact block the fork will occur at remains undetermined.

I had seen something like this in the past and I just wished it away thinking its was just a joke till I clicked the link and found out that there is even a thread on the forum gathering momentum gradually even up to the 12th page. But seriously, we need to stop this confusion because just getting boring and tiring all together.

This will be like the 4th fork or so within a period of how many months. If this is allowed to continue, then there won't be any new project to be developed again because you can just create a new bitcoin. Now that we have Gold and Silver, the next will be Bitcoin diamond, bitcoin platinum, etc. This is a joke.
2456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recover BTC using backup passphrase on: November 04, 2017, 07:26:48 AM
Hello,

I lost access to my blockchain account but i have the backup passphrase, i have imported the address to a new wallet on a different blockchain account and it requests the private key inorder to use the funds. Please what can i do?

Since you have the passphrase, then there is nothing you can do but what I am surprised about is the fact that blockchain.info asking for private key when they don't provide one because everything they do is just the passphrase and I expect that you should have uncontrolled access since you have done that already.

However, there is a way to get the private key though an external way, I have not used it before but several others have used it so that's a disclaimer

Reported To Moderators Asking to Delete Offending Posts But Offending Posts not Deleted yet

I have reported a couple of offending posts on the biblepay BBP announcement thread,

but the offending posts have not been deleted yet.

Biblepay BBP announcement thread at bitcointalk
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2042657.0

If moderators just go about deleting every posts reported, I am sure someone who is attacking your posts would have chosen the easy way out by just getting it deleted by reporting to the moderator. You just wake one day and realise your posts are gone then you create a thread for that same purpose.

There is no project that won't have someone against it and even the ones that have been successful at one point or the other, someone has labelled scam but since they know what they are doing and able to manage the criticism, the supporting members community would be the one fighting their course.

Aside that, everybody cannot accept your own point of view that's why the option of self moderated is made available and if you cannot use that because of the consequences attached it then mean by default you can handle every other criticism.

get away from it even one day.... an hour? Only when im at work (which isnt much)

When im not here, i switch to youtube, when im not on youtube i switch to coinmarketcap, when im not on coinmarketcap i check my email, when im not in email i check my phone sometimes. Or facebook.

And then repeat that cycle...  Cheesy      Embarrassed  Roll Eyes

Ooh, ad reddit to that as well since recently..

and ofcourse being on exchanges. Or bitmex adventures.

In my own case, my job really does not create that amount of time to expand the cycle like what Op is doing my own cycle is somehow shrink in the sense that, what I do is visit the forum, read some latest things happening, contribute if it interest me, check the exchange sites I have some coins to see how its doing, go to twitter to know if there are new tweets that needs to be acted upon, then go back to work. After about say 2 hours repeat the same thing but during weekend that I am not going to work, its basically the forum and just take some hours to do something else.
2459  Economy / Services / Re: can anyone help get money back out of a scam casino? on: November 03, 2017, 09:14:54 PM
Hello all, bit of a longshot, but i'm looking for anyone who has any suggestions of how i could get my money back out of this scam casino cryptosdice.com I deposited bitcoins to them to be part of the bankrole, when i decided to withdraw i withdrew 2 transaction, sonly received one of them, they are still holding over 0.3 btc, almost a year later, no answers to support tickets, twitter messages, emails or bitcointalk messages on their thread. btc is prob lost, but if anyone has any ideas would be very grateful!

For close to a year and you think the money would still be recovered, I expect you to have moved on or should have come out earlier. A year ago 0.3btc would be 1/3rd of what it is today and if they couldn't give you your coin then, how will they make it available when it could cost a fortune to do that now.

Anyone who claim to help you recover and ask that you pay, only wants to get more of the money you have around because those team or individual would have been long gone by now.
2460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet Breach? on: November 03, 2017, 07:32:24 PM
Can installing altcoin wallets on the same PC that has bitcoin wallet breach the security of bitcoin wallet?
Is it possible that someone actually designs such an altcoin wallet that breaches or somehow harms a certain bitcoin wallet installed on the same machine?

There is a possibility even though those of us who does not understand how it might happen, the best is to avoid it. I have not witnessed it before but there was one time that I wanted to install some wallet on my system and it was leading to some running diagnostics on my system, immediately I had to just end the whole process.

Another way I knew it possible was a release by Electrum during the time of claiming bitcoin cash that they emphasis the need of installing on another device any software to claim the BCH because of compromise of their own wallet.
