2461  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SebastianJu flaked with escrow on: June 03, 2018, 08:31:47 PM
...I expect fast responses and not a almost 60 hour delay in releasing escrow. Needless to say I will never use his service again.

Maybe next time you should just ask what's the expected response time. What's "fast" can be pretty subjective. To you, 2-3 days is extremely slow, to someone else - it's acceptable, especially when it's the weekend.

Good to see it's all sorted out though.
2462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Discussion] Visa outage: payment chaos after card network crashes on: June 02, 2018, 10:40:58 PM
If we limit the discussion to the effect on the bitcoin:
A problem with Visa cards does not necessarily mean that people will stop using it or resort to alternatives such as Bitcoin "It's a technical problem as long as the money is safe, trust is there."
...

Events like this one, or the recent UK's TSB bank IT migration mega-failure, could shift (affected) public perception in favour of crypto and decentralisation. The problem is, although most have at least heard of Bitcoin, the average person is absolutely clueless about how Bitcoin works and what 'decentralisation' means. Shame, because this would be the great opportunity to get more people on-board.

So probably the only real, immediate effect (if any) is that the current bitcoin holders will appreciate it a little bit more.
2463  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Eric Suchomski internet scammer on: June 02, 2018, 10:16:14 PM
Really ? I think the charges for the lawyer would be more than his potential loss.

It's true, but he can not let the scammer go unpunished, everyone knows that the prices of lawyers are expensive and many times the process is much more expensive, but the person knows that the pleasure of seeing the scammers in jail has no price because you is contributing to take another thief out of the streets that is infecting our society. Of course if OP does not have more money and time then better give up and take care of he's life
...

In case of a straight up scams, that are criminal offences, it should be enough to report it to police.

If you want to start a civil lawsuit against fraudster then: a) you don't necessarily have to hire a lawyer, you should be able to manage it yourself, if the case is simple and straight-forward (or you could only take an initial consultation); b) any legal costs can be claimed from the defendant, so if you win, you should get all the costs back.

^ one small thing - Nexybit campaign should have an orange asterisk next to it, they give 50% bonus to the participants that opt to get paid directly to their Nexybit accounts.
2466  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SebastianJu flaked with escrow on: June 02, 2018, 09:21:46 PM
You haven't agreed on the response time with SebastianJu. It haven't even been 2 days, so you rushed a little bit with starting this thread.

Remember he's just a human being after all, he might have went out on Fri night or whatever. You can't expect him to be glued to the screen 24/7.

Daft question, are you sure the buyer sent his message to both of you? If SebastianJu, replied to you after buyer's "Please release escrow" pm, there's a chance he didn't receive it or somehow missed it. Have you asked him whether he got it?
2467  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical analysis bullshit? on: June 02, 2018, 08:58:02 PM
1 - TA won't predict the future. No one serious would ever claim that. At very best it could increase your chances of accurate prediction of market behaviour based on the past movements. It's not deemed very effective even for traditional markets.
2 - TA is completely useless for the market that is often being moved by unforeseen events, i.e. China bans BTC, Mt Gox coin dump, large exchange gets hacked etc.
2 - Self-fulfilling prophecy. If some popular analyst(s), with very large following, present their TA, that itself could actually move the market.

FYI I'm getting some "internal server error" messages (popping out windows). Hope you'll get this fixed soon, as currently I can't change my orders.
2469  Economy / Speculation / Re: Broke my heart. on: May 31, 2018, 12:23:30 PM

You should be looking at total trading volume (excluding zero-fees exchanges) and preferably over longer period (i.e. 7 days +), to get any sort of indication of BTC trade dominance. Super hyped coins tend to be getting ridiculously high volumes at times, but it's usually only a temporary trend.

When you have the newest, hottest, most-hyped alt-coin thrown on the market and available only on few exchanges - it's perfectly normal that the new coin takes the No. 1 spot on those exchanges.
2470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Throwing money to garbage no more! on: May 31, 2018, 10:55:45 AM
"I FOMOed in at ATH and now I'm butthurt" - the thread.

Welcome to the volatile world of crypto, OP. Hope you're enjoying the ride - that's what really matters after all.

...You should try to taste a good food in your plate and do not just stare on it.

That's deep. Touched my soul.

2472  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading vs. Buy and Hold on: May 29, 2018, 09:11:55 AM
Trading or HODL

The goal of most investors generally is to buy low and sell high. This can result in two quite different approaches to equity investing.

One approach is described as "trading." Trading involves following the short-term price fluctuations of different stocks closely and then trying to buy low and sell high. Traders usually decide ahead of time the percentage increase they're looking for before you sell (or decrease before they buy).

Hello!
I sent message to TELEMEDICINE 2 days ago, but didn't receive answer. I didn't receive tokens for Docademic bounty.
...

Your ETH address shows that you did receive at least some of the tokens. They're called Medical Token Currency (MTC).

Is there any reason behind the current rally (any announcement etc)? Or is it all due to McAfee's tweet?
2476  Economy / Reputation / Re: Shit Poster on: May 22, 2018, 12:02:34 PM
He's wearing eterbank signature. Gee, I wonder if their signature campaign rules have anything to do with his posting behaviour:

Ok I see. So the chain is only increasing of the actual size of the blocks an not the theoritical 32MB size.

yep. they've got the luxury of making extravagant claims while not having to deal with the problems they'd bring from maximum usage.

Anyone could spam the network with large-sized 1 sat fee transactions at relatively low cost to prove/disprove the problems of having 32mb blocks.

2480  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Marriage vs. Divorce on: April 18, 2018, 03:38:35 PM

If there is no more love in the relationship it's just stupid to stay together.

...

That's a fair point, but with that mindset - marriage is not for you. Why would you get married and pledge your life-long commitment ("for good and bad... until death do us part") if all you really mean is "until I'm 100% satisfied".

The idea behind marriage is (was?) to start a family. The person you married becomes your closest family, and you don't abandon/replace your family even when things get rough, you work it through. Can you imagine anyone abandoning their child or mother because 'things weren't very great between us lately'?

But sadly, that only worked when divorces were rare and socially unacceptable. You simply had no other way but to make things work and fix your relationship. Currently, when things go bad, the first thought is "am I better off alone?" or "would I be happier with someone else?".

Relationship dynamics are a motherfucker. With loose social/religious norms it's hard to pull off a lifelong relationships, unless both parties got it figured out and know exactly what they want. That's why marriage rates are higher (and divorce rates lower) in the upper class, when people tend to be more intelligent.

In short: Don't get married if you're not ready to commit 100%.
