Alright. It took 26 minutes to download. Now starting the wallet.. It says it's importing data.... fine... 10 minutes in... it has imported about 170'000 blocks.... 1 hour later ... 230k blocks. 1.5 hours later .... importing block 250k.... importing sure takes a lot of time... ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) but we are getting there... 2 hours, 270k (that's end of november 2013)... at this rate it should take another hour to finish... I was wrong... 3 hours, it's at 283k... I give up... I have to get some sleep... lol... PS progress bar is at about 40%... but don't think its an accurate estimation of time needed. But if it is, then it might take another 3-4 hours to stop.... will see tomorrow...

I am checking this out now.
A month ago it took me about a day to download the whole blockchain with the wallet. I will see how fast the torrent and validating is.
At the moment it's very promising, like 25 MB/s download speed.

Eligius goes in waves ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) It seems all goes well for a while, then something gets borked in the frontend, payments pile up, Whizkid does a manual payout... wash, rinse, repeat. Just the character of the pool. Ok, I see... if that's the reason why, then that's just the way it is. No problem here... :-)

I don't get it....
Why are there now so many smaller payments, like every 1-2 days... And last month I had to wait on average 5-10 days until a large payment was made.
What is the reason for this? I am not complaining, just trying to understand.
So from now on we can expect faster payments?

I hope she's a brunette... Blondes are meh unless they're gym rats... Brunettes get to slack a little... ;-)
Next will be black-haired.. The special thing is, it will be a small story, told in a sequence of 3-4 GIFs. I have to evolve, to keep my customers satisfied! Stay tuned. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Ha ha, you sold your eCash when you should have hodl your eCash.
You repeated this so many times, it stuck in my head!!! And then this happened: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FB4ho8Za.gif&t=663&c=ju7_4tHlfJFlWw) Yea its stuck in my head toooo ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I love you man. I'm gonna get my girlfriends ass tattooed with your name on the other check. DRK one side, you the other. I know. Weird. But, like I said, I love you man. Thanks, I appreciate it. I am happy for your girlfriend that I have such a nice sounding worldly name, and not something like shoshaxzyztjikl

That's the retro girl with the retro diagrams... Already working on a more modern one! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Give, and you shall receive. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FycvZKzj.gif&t=663&c=oXrMfeXQe-UslA) Dance donations, dance! Not that anyone is gonna care, but I believe you are using an outdated backgroud from the original whitepaper ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I take my job here very seriously. Which background would you suggest? Not sure if this the best of ideas, but I guess it is a good opportunity to post again the last darksend charts ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F2ScgLQl.jpg&t=663&c=2siXrRfF5SMTVQ) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FsKCZDrH.jpg&t=663&c=fBu4QIhYjDdaSg) I'll use the occasion to remind everyone to read what to expect from RC4: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/development-updates-july-7th.1735/And the comments Evan did a few days after that here: Sorry to hear you lost faith in the project. Also, sorry you're going to be getting out at a horrible time (right before I announce I have EVERYTHING figured out to make Darkcoin mainstream?).
Over the past couple of days, I've made huge leaps in the Darksend technology. In fact, RC4 will be the final solution to Darkcoin's anonymity. The client will automatically look at all of your funds and it will be able to tell which funds are not anonymized, if it finds non-anonymous outputs it will run them through a darksend with other clients. After that process, users can send without Darksend using the anonymous outputs for instant transactions without waiting for other nodes (with no upper limit on transaction sizes).
The other thing you're missing is that there is a reason I forked Bitcoin. Adoption for Darkcoin will be MUCH faster and easier for vendors, because all of the APIs are the same.
Expect more news in a few days. I have lots of work to do, but soon we can start testing all of this new functionality.
Thanks for this. I will try and let it slip into the coming GIFs... I will see if I can find a sexy teacher that parades her junk in front of a chalkboard or something... could be fun.

A Cryptocurrency without trust has no future...
What are you talking about... cryptocurrencies are by definition trustless systems. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) That's the whole point.

Can anybody point me to a "darkcoin accepted here" logo? There seems to be a dead link on the official site: http://www.darkcoin.io/getstarted.html#When I click on "Download 'Darkcoin accepted here' logo" on the lower right, it just reopens the same site, without downloading anything. Thanks.

Evan is doing something truely exceptional, introduced X11 chained algorithms for PoW to enhance the security of the network and Proof of Service masternodes providing a much needed level of anonimity which I consider the biggest flaw in Bitcoin.
Evan also created the DGW "Dark Gravity Wave" difficulty adjustment algorithm, which has become very useful to the whole altcoin scene.

Uh... where's the option for none of the above?
The DRK community is full of idiots, and I wouldn't touch the coin itself with a 10-foot-pole.
It's a darkcoin related poll, so why should people who have no connection to darkcoin vote at all? If I owned a supermarket and created a poll to find out if people are happy with my service WHY would I let people vote who have never entered my shop in the first place???
