Ah damn, should have read older posts, so it's double game week confirmed, no wonder the Rashford love. Still plenty of time to switch around, and I'm happy to take a few points off to bring in another midfielder. Or Nunez back (haha).

Maddisson still too risky? He's been in training already. Sure, not sharp, but all we need from him is a couple freekick goals.

My FPL is currently the definition of fantasy (players I believe will turn a corner in a big way).
2522  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: January 30, 2023, 02:49:32 PM
Yes, but not restricted to FUD. I think any kind of solicitation is unethical, especially the way most people do it (cherry pick information and showing what is positive, sometimes even unfounded). I love when there's spreading of awareness and information, absolutely don't like when speculative hype is being bandied around. Doesn't matter if FOMO or FUD, it's all generally quite irresponsible leading to people parting with money they can't afford to lose.

I know it's all opinion but when you're spreading it, even paying for it to be heard/seen...

Have to say the only stickers I've ever come across in my wanderings (apart from on shops to signal an accepting merchant) have always been neutral (no message), or even funny/non-serious (I distinctly recall the rollercaster Bitcoin person thing). Hard to spread a message without providing some kind of evidence, but I do always wonder what a person sees first when Googling. Definitely need to think about adding this forum link Wink
2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 30, 2023, 09:57:31 AM
The biggest probably crap news I hear today is Lukaku wanted by both Newcastle AND Spurs. I usually don't pay attention to that kind of nonsense but something tells me it's actually true. Heh.

I really don't understand how Chelsea plans to fulfill the FFP rules. These rules are a joke, yes, but still something like this should not be possible.
If they actually do buy Fernandez, they will be near 600 million euros in net spend since Boehly took over, and they almost certainly won't have CL profits next season.

I wonder what's going to happen to Potter - this team is too expensive for such poor results.

Yeah and now, for me, who wants to go to Chelsea now and sit on the bench? Only people who don't mind not playing (aka not hungry enough). Something tells me it's not just about Chelsea being idiot in transfer, I wonder if also about Potter not knowing what he's doing or can he really be blameless here?

2525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hit And Run Gambling - Can The House Be Beaten This way? on: January 29, 2023, 07:37:13 PM
Closest thing I ever did to that was a short stay in the UK, which coincided with Liverpool's run to the final of Europa League in 2016 (we lost the final but it was unexpected, and Kloppomania had just begun).

Opened new accounts with almost every bookie I ran into -- online and at the shops. Didn't know there were so many! All books give new players a first bet promo, which pays out really generously. They limit you to something like 2 GBP per bet, but payouts were something like 50/1 on Liverpool wins. So I did this at every stage of the game on a new bookie all the way to the final.

Then throughout Europa, they all ran similar promos even in EPL. Boosted prices on small things like scorer, first scorer. I put almost every scorer promo on Daniel Sturridge. Who was on a hot streak that season.

With something less than 50 pounds outlay, I ended up with huge profits thanks to Liverpool's crazy run. Lost quite a bit in the final (which we didn't win) but ended the season well.

Left the UK so closed out all my bookie accounts.

But that wasn't me not going back again, that was just me unable to return =)
2526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: January 29, 2023, 07:04:07 PM
Hope you took Monza in the end since they are already 2:0 up. What a day in Italy, will be nice bonuses for bookie workers.

Have no idea what is happening with Milan, they were good before World Cup and then total disarray after the world cup. There has to be some problems in dressing room, not possible that everyone just forgot how to play.

Unfortunately not. I was about to pull the trigger when Monza's first goal was disallowed, but then I spent too much time looking at horrible Liverpool play (more on that I'm too tired to explain). But yeah, time to get serious about Monza, I predicted 2-1 on them on Superbru but that was more hopeful than anything else to try and climb the table.

Honestly don't know what's going on in Serie A other than much-publicised Juve... but Napoli seems to be the only one keeping form.

And dare I say, Lazio's the one now improving theirs?
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: January 29, 2023, 05:16:39 PM
^ Ya saw that, well done, at least someone is not miserable today.

Funny enough, I saw that I actually had Sevilla in one of my tickets, so that passed happily as the first leg. Honestly can't remember ever doing that, it's been ages since I counted them to serve me up anything, so it's a weird accident I'm pleased for.

Meanwhile, Valencia did as expected, and Atletico slim win, business as usual in La Liga Wink

Today we have Brighton vs Liverpool & after the last time Klopp took the Reds there, I am definitely not looking forward to it Cheesy

And after I said to myself not to waste any more money on the Reds, I threw away a bit more. How do you rank our worst performances this season? Impossible. Every single Brighton player performed better at passes completed in opponent's half than our entire forward/midfield.

And Fabinho coming on, first key pass so bad, first key tackle could have been a red, he needs a cold storage placement because he has lost all confidence.

Mitoma's goal was pretty slick, rarely see that kind of feint in the air these days. May they go on and win the FA Cup. Don't let City please.
2529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: January 29, 2023, 03:13:11 PM
Yeah, there we go. Feyenoord dropping points at a time when they need statements of intent, now leaving the door open for Alkmaar (what?) to sit atop the league, if they win and Eindhoven takes what they'll feel is a possible victory at Feyenoord next game.

Couldn't have been an easier debut for Heitinga in the end, though must be nice to see Kudus, Tadic and Klaasen on target.

Wow. Just as I thought Atalanta finds a way to score the goals, they let in 5 at home against... Sassuolo haha. If Giroud's opener had stood, it could have been a whole different ball game after.

It was such an interesting prospect to see Sassuolo at 1.09 live even leading 3-1 at HT, I took them and tagged them on a Liverpool ML... so let's see how my Sunday pans out. Might be tempted to go on Monza later if all is well in 40 mins. Heh.

Got to be one of the most misleading headlines I've read recently heh. She didn't win the lottery, she lost all her money gambling. That's really the headline, here, no?

I mean, you lose at poker or black jack or roulette, and you don't mention how many rounds you win before eventually busting (you can even win more hands than lose as people like me usually bust when chasing losing streaks).
2532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 29, 2023, 12:34:42 PM
Missed the special and he didn't drop a single set so I ended up with no money bet. Probably one of the lowest amounts and frequencies I've ever spent on a GS, but that 25/10 seems in hindsight now the best value bet of them all -- and it still failed by one game haha.

So looks like I saved myself more money (that's a good thing, right?).

We at home here were big fans of Tsitsipas a few years ago, and he was tipped to be
one of the "top 3" replacements, but it hasnt materialised yet, maybe he will come good
this year?

I definitely think though that he needs to ditch the family from the coaching, they are
a distraction IMO.

Didn't realise he had family on coaching (but doesn't Djoko and a lot of others do as well?). Still find it a bit strange to have that, even if it does happen in football too.

Anyway, match is going almost as I expected. More aces from Tsitsi, but more receiving points from Djoko.

Still waiting for a set to drop before I pull trigger on any bet but at least second set shows the Greek can still get to him. He needs to get a good streak going though and get his forehand going... totally let him down in the tie break.
2534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 28, 2023, 10:34:28 PM
Man, Bayern just teasing everyone else these days. Actually had a bet on Frankfurt last minute as odds were above 8/1 but didn't seriously think Bayern would slip up. Then we get this result. Every team including BVB in for it.

Not really a serious question but is Mane missed?

@KTChampions yes please. Knock out PSG and keep this league well alive. I of course want my team to win but we gotta take care of Real first.
2535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2023, 06:48:25 PM
@tokeweed yep, we've been pursuing him (or Klopp has anyway) for at least 3 seasons now, but he's always been too expensive, and then it was also a matter of timing, and now our old backroom acquisition people are gone also, so I'm not sure. It does appear owners are finally willing to consider the fee but then now we're not the only ones.

It would be the solution to our problems, but to be honest I'm not sure we can afford him. When it gets closer to the summer, Real Madrid, and the likes will put in some massive bids, with even bigger wages. Which, without breaking the wage structure we just can't compete with. Bellingham would absolutely want to be a Liverpool fan, and prioritise that over a better wage, which I don't think is the case.

We've got more problems than just the midfield it seems, but I feel Bellingham would be an absolutely massive statement. I can't see us willing to pay him the same as Salah though, which will ultimately be the reason he goes elsewhere. I think it's just rumours at the moment, I don't think anyone is leading the race. I think it's just simply the case of Liverpool being the most vocal.

Yeah, I think he's a smart boy, and our fortunes thus far will have played its part in swaying that "hunger" if there ever was a case that he might choose heart over money. And we can't blame him for that.

I doubt we're in the lead too. It's just the fandom, and as you say, rumours, which have been fanning (admittedly also by me) since even when we won the title (damn that's ages ago).

Time for revenge for Liverpool in tomorrow game,I personally can not forget the humiliating lost game 3-0 against Brighton not that long ago.

I normally have odds on my horizon but now I realise why I haven't seen Ajax, they must no longer be huge favourites.

actually, I planned to put something on Ajax, but it was still @1.22 on them to win in 55 minute (and then conceived and seemed that they will not recover)
but, on the other hand, they had some 90% possession and 16/6 shots, while Volendam had wish to pass on Ajax half and nothing more than that, and they finished with 31 shot on goal

IMO, Feyenoord is not stable enough to win title in the end, although I would like to see them on top

Yeah, Dirk Kuyt captain days of strength and consistency long gone, but I definitely am enjoying Ajax's crappiness. My closest friends here (they're not that close but it's as good as it gets) are semi-Feyenoord supporters, but we can definitely agree we all want Ajax to be miserable.

Problem now is they acted swiftly and have a new guy in place. That can result in them climbing back up the table and those already at the top are, as you say, unreliable.

Nice one Slam. HT still scoreless but don't think there is any need to worry.

Seems like we could be headed for an El Clasico final huh?
Yes, all things being considered we should get an EL Classico final, that should be a nice match up, wouldn't it ? because it's been a while we had an El Classico knockout fixture, let alone a final. I hope it does happen, honestly.

The way my team's playing, I honestly don't mind seeing these top 2 giants clash. They've become more attractive again, in part because of Real magic, in part because Barca's stopped looking like shit.

grim season for me, I have my 5 European teams that I support for 30+ years (Everton(EPL), Valencia(LL), Leverkusen(BL), Cagliari(C) and Auxerre(L1)) and this is probably worst season overall

Auxerre relegated long time ago, after Guy Roux era, and will go down one more time, Cagliari relegated last year, Everton is in relegation zone this season, Valencia and Leverkusen are not within top table part
didn't use to getting trophies, but European competitions were almost standard for several teams, now barely one from five win over match day

One club at a time for me is all I can manage. I suppose I have some leanings towards the underdogs in La Liga and Serie A, but that is generally reliant on their performance (it's never Real, Barca or Atletico which is great so I can enjoy/hate as a neutral).

Auxerre was sad, I didn't feel much for Cagliari, Everton, well, I can never take seriously. This season I followed Freiburg for a bit (and one of my fav players Doan helps me). Hang in there, man.

Re: Tsitsipas

I think a good few of us got let down by betting on Tsitsipas in the past, I haven't
been betting on him either since then.

TBH it seems to me (and it's something I said back in December) Djokovic has to
be feeling superior, and knows he is superior ATM to any other player on tour.

I would say he has already at this stage lined up a win in every tournament in his schedule
and definitely every GS this year as a win.

He fairly breezed through his match today, 3 sets!

I really can't see Tsitsipas winning tomorrow. Djokovic to me is super focussed, after
last year - he is on a mission now.

I genuinely liked Tsitsi, as a very casual follower who only gets to watch maybe 1 in 5 games properly, and only GS, the problem was when I started betting on him too, and you always felt, with the greats slowly retreating from the stage (with the exception of Djoko), I always felt he would be one of the replacements.

Did anyone actually have Tsitsi on outright? Was at least 20/1 as I recall. Amazing time to hedge.

Also, ML of $50 gets you the freebet so, yeah I'm going for that!

Its not limited to ML though, typically any bet at $50 minimum will get you $10 free chips.

I won mine with draw on half time. Glad that I took them at boosted odds as well, which is pretty decent

Hoping to win my next free bet as I also lost my 2nd one  Roll Eyes, what a luck

My mistake, I meant to say I had an ML, and that got me the freebet. The $50 does need to be on the game with min 1.50 odds though, so just watch for that.

Good that you won. I hedged on Citeh, but then the final game on my acca was on Wellington in A-league... so all I got back was my stake as a freebet. Can't win them all, but FA Cup today kicks off my second round of accas. All to live for =)

Any rival tips from you Trofo? Wink
As long as you are captaining Salah I can share anything, you will not outscore Rashford with two games  Grin

Acording to the expected stats Odegaard is better than Martinelli and Saka, but Saka has penalties on his side. Now that Nketiah is playing well, Martinelli lost some of the apeal, he is not having that much chances like when Jesus was linking up with fellow countryman.

That's okay. One day, soon, hopefully, this captaining of Salah will pay off. Rashford's too hot to leave out, Saka is probably the only guy who's stayed in my team the longest, but I've also switched Pope out now, have a feeling it can't last.

Martinelli played pretty ok last night but Trossard had as best a debut as you can get while on the losing side. He's backup though, so yeah I'm not going to tinker with Arsenal beyond (maybe) Martinelli.
