Good morning Bitcoinland. (Sorry Lambie Slayer. I guess capitulation's not complete yet.)

Mostly sideways since yesterday's dip and small bounce... currently $3430USD/$4570CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

1. he's to busy now emptying that BTC machine .....

How did you know? That actually happened to me yesterday.

I went down the street to an ATM that had a slightly higher buy fee because it was close and I could save time and a cab fare.

Ordered a Hendricks martini and started feeding cash into the machine. About halfway through it said it was out of bitcoins.

I finished my drink, hailed a cab and went to a cheaper ATM a short ride away to complete my buy.

I met the operator of the first machine last month when I was selling coins to pay for my implants. He's a young guy, maybe 30ish, with limited funds. He came out with $15kCAD cash in a bank envelope and bought from me OTC over martinis.

He said he's hoping to buy another ATM as soon as he can afford it. The bar he placed his machine in is owned by his friend who agreed to accepting a percentage of his fee in lieu of a monthly rental.

I commented on the big lurky-looking character on the patio outside and the bar owner said it was another of her friends who acted as part-time security. Nice to see she was looking after her friends. Gotta love family businesses.

Well good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day, yet another dip... currently $3303USD/$4390CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

I see Proudhon's here. Who's next? Kwukduck? Fonzie? NLC?

Must be getting fairly near to kaput-ulation.

Mmmm... coffee's ready.  Cool

I'm not sure whose derriere that Nov. 20, 2021 date was pulled from but we're not having a $100k party until we actually reach $100k.
...the BTC price is not going to reach $100k until after the 2024 halvening, and in late 2020 or early 2021, BTC is only going to reach $98,765.43 (some silly arbitrary figure)... Sorry to break the seemingly bearish news to you pie in the sky bulls, expecting $100k before the 2024 halvening...

My point exactly. No one knows exactly when it will hit $100k. Maybe after the 2020 halvening, maybe not until after the 2024 or even the 2028 halvenings.

Please don't include me in your "pie in the sky bulls" categorization.

So, when is the $100 000 WO party and where? I pay the subway ticket for the bears.

I am also interested in the answer. Especially the "when" part.

November 20, 2021 in Vegas.  We still need to agree the venue for the party. All accommodation arrangements are to be made privately because opsec.

I guess Bob mentioned some islands in the Caribbean...  it's a better idea as most of us are probably coming in our private jets anyway and we need some sun after long cold evenings with alcohol in front of our laptops during HODL.  Grin Grin Grin

As for the location, Vegas is just about the last place I'd want to go to, even if Uncle Sam wanted to let me. Vegas is a shithole unless you're addicted to gambling. Sleazy low-class trash.

Anywhere in the Caribbean would suit me just fine or as someone suggested, summertime in Amsterdam would be a fine alternate choice. I guess the season depends on when we hit $100k.

bitcoin was such an amazing idea, so much potential...

it's failure is seriously bumming me out

Alright! That's the spirit.

Capitulation, FUD, despair, resignation.

Everybody join in.  Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day, another dip... currently $3635USD/$4880CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Lots of angst here today. Maybe the bottom's near?

While everybody's apologizing, let me apologize for being positive most of the time. I know that it pisses off whiners, snivelers and crybabies.

Oh well.  Grin

Does your GF go to gay bars? Do the words "pit pat piffy wing wong" mean anything to you?

How can anyone forget? A post for the ages.

Seems like just yesterday.

Misspent well lived youth life

You're never too old to misspend your youth.

Got my 0.000777btc beer coin. Dude's for real.

Thanks again Bob. You're my uncle.
Cheers man understand why you took it.... those damn hot days in Mexico

Actually, I'm back in Toronto and while its a relatively nice sunny day today, it's still cold here. It was snowing yesterday.

I'll use the beer not as a coolant  but rather as a source of energy to stay warm. Alcohol is a carbohydrate after all. Calories are calories.  Cool

Why don't we celebrate in Amsterdam?

Very friendly city for all kinds of people.

Temprature

Temperature is quite good in summer. That's not an excuse imo.

Amsterdam in the summer sounds good to me.

I might even be able to find my favorites there... Shirak-i-mazar, Malana Cream and Nepalese Temple Balls.

I'm spoiled rotten.  Cool

A bright and early good morning Bitcoinland.

After a slight dip we're back up scrapping over $4k... currently $4067USD/$5352CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Sideways is fine by me...  bought some last week, don't have to sell any until late April, fairly reasonable chunk of cash not expected until end of January.

After further consideration, throwing the $100K party in Las Vegas would be much easier to plan.

You'll have to count me out then.

Having been convicted of possessing a plant that is now legal in my own country, I'm now eternally persona non grata in the land of the incarcerated and the home of the militarily emboldened.

Any Caribbean nation would be ideal while anywhere in Europe would be fun. Unfortunately the USA is out.

Too bad. I'd love to see what Wall Observers look like IRL, even in masquerade.

The scheduled boxing exhibition sounds like fun too. Your focus on the mouth is misguided though. A wired-shut jaw won't shut him up. The typing fingers are the problem. (Sorry JJG, I shoulda waited until Thursday.)
_____

Thanks for the lovely refreshing Guinness Extra Stout. I'll have to wait until happy hour to drink it. Having a gig tonight, happy hour starts an hour before showtime.

Will PM you the QR code for one of my catch-all dump wallets. You're a true gentleman.

Then we could have pistols at ten paces.

Around here it's more like mud wrestling.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $4k I see... currently $4157USD/$5525CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Sir, how to place sell bids at a ATM or OTC in 2013   ;-)

You don't place bids or asks at ATMs or OTC.

At an ATM you meet the operator's price.

OTC you negotiate a price.

2013? The first Bitcoin ATM didn't open until October 29 of that year. UTC transactions predated exchanges.

In 2013 I was buying bitcoins directly from a miner who sold me enough to pay his expenses while hoarding the rest.

Needless to say, he's quite wealthy now.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we've recovered most of yesterday's losses... currently $4292USD/$5703CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Let's move on up now.

The real question is, "What kind of savage would use exchanges?"

Not only do you have to give up possession of your coins to exchanges to use them, now apparently you also have to surrender your anonymity.

Totally unacceptable.

If you stay out of Fiat, numerous exchanges will work for anon crypto trading. But yeah, you wanna deal in Fiat, you gotta abide by the rules of the Fiat issuers.

The only "crypto" I'm interested in is Bitcoin, which I buy with and occasionally sell for CAD.

This is why I avoid exchanges and use anonymous ATMs or deal in cash OTC.

No one gets control of my bitcoins and I remain anonymous.
