Looking forward to seeing Henry in the snow. Smiley

It's bound to be fun, but I'm going Packers all the way.  Tannehill has been good lately, but I'm not sure how he'll do in the snow.  I expect a heavy dose of Henry.

Here's my "Roll the Dice" bet for the evening:

Shit!  Looks like Aaron Jones got hurt, A.J. Dillon is getting most of the carries now.

ETA: I gotta say; hats off to Goff.  No, I'm not going to get poetic, but I can't help but root for the guy because of...  Reasons.

In the loss to the Seahawks he dislocated his thumb, and just popped it back into place and stayed on the field.  It was on his right hand, but didn't seem to affect his play.  I bet it hurts right now.

Well, I missed the Chiefs game.  Roll Eyes

My son had a car accident, everyone was fine, but I had to deal with that...  The joys of raising a teenage boy.   Shocked

Then I came home to find my multi was shit from the start.  One of 5, WTF, over?

At least Kelce and the Chiefs cam through for me with this hedge bet;

2584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 27, 2020, 04:07:08 PM
Played Steelers tb Colts, since Indy will be missing Smith and Castonzo and this is a recipe for disaster against this PIT front 7. Conner and Williams will be back in action for the Steelers and this should help to get them back on track against a bit overrated team like the Colts are still for me.

The Colt's two OTs being out is a bit worrying, but they have a deep stack to durable running backs to compensate.  I suspect the Steelers D-Line will have their hands full nonetheless.

Cardinals screwed up my awesome parlay

I would put the blame squarely on the 49ers.  Tongue

However, I have no choice but to blame the Lions for my multi-miss.

Chiefs does look like a trap game but the Falcons suck.

Chiefs are virtually guaranteed* the playoff bye so they don't have anything to play for.

I can't see how the Steelers or the Bills could possibly strip the top seed from the Chiefs at this point, it certainly looks like they have nothing left to win.  I just learned that Mahomes will be starting, so maybe Andy Reid is trying to match the best regular season record (15-1) of the 16-Game era...  I don't know, seems like a risky bet.

My Sunday Morning Multi (disclaimer: I've yet to win a multi.)  Cool

NYG @ Baltimore: Over 42.5 (1.74)
Cincinnati @ Houston: Under 46.5 (1.80)
Atlanta @ KC: KC Over 32.5 (1.85)
Cleveland @ NYJ: Kareem Hunt Rushing Yards Over 46.5 (1.80)
Indianapolis @ Pittsburgh: Steelers +2.5 (1.80)
Total odds: 20.46

Best of luck with your bets, all.

WTF is wrong with Robbie Gould?  The dude is usually automatic.  A missed 41y FG, and now a missed extra point?

Looks like the Niners are playing spoiler for our hosts...  How rude, after let us stay in their house for the last month.

Anyway, looks like my prediction of Under 49.5 is very likely, but I must admit I imagined the score reversed.

ETA: Unbelievable, now he missed a chip-shot FG that would have sealed the game...

Have the Chiefs clinched the top seed?  It appears that the only teams that could match their record are the Bills and the Steelers.  Both would have to win out, and the Chiefs would have to lose out, but I believe the Chiefs have tie breakers with both.

Okay, now I may act like I am an expert who used some deep analysis to pick 3-1 for Arsenal. But in truth, I merely used gut feeling to make that pick.

Lol, good job and congrats on that one.  I am happy to have been wrong about that match.  It was nice to see the Gunners take a good win against a good team.  It seems like it's been months.

Damn it, Stafford stepping out isn't part of the plan.  That's bound to fuck my multi bet right from the get-go, it's already looking like a handicap of +12.5 is nothing but a pipedream for Detroit.

Tampa Bay @ Detroit +12.5 (1.73)
Stafford's injury is likely to ruin this one for you, maybe AP and Swift come back in the second half and save the day,...who knows?!

Any given Sunday (or Saturday, as the case may be,) anything could happen.

But this is the Lyons we're talking about.  Sorry, suchmoon...

ETA: It's already 27-0, Tampa with less than 5 minutes to go in the half.

Hello NFL experts! The Steelers and the Packers are certain to go on to the playoffs. Do you reckon a multibet on their opponents, the Colts and the Titans, is a good bet? Titans and Colts are in a close battle to clinch AFC south division and might play harder than opponents that clinched their slots already.

I wouldn't bet against the Packers.  They're still trying to secure the top seed, which means a first round bye.  Another week of rest and preparation is a coveted spot, and this year only one team from each conference gets it.  I expect the Titans to put up a good fight, however.

The Steelers have been in downward spiral since losing to Washington in week 13.  With the Colts this week, and Browns next week I'm more inclined to bet against the Steelers for their next two games.  They're still stout on defense, but the last two weeks their offense has been abysmal.

Here's what I'm thinking for today's games:

Tampa Bay @ Detroit +12.5 (1.73)
San Francisco @ Arizona: Under 49.5 (1.82)
Miami @ Las Vegas: ML (1.72)

Total odds: 5.42

I've also gone for a Manchester United 1 - 2 win in the pool, and there are loads of us with that same pick, it has been an even game thus far, but I still have feeling that United would steal all 3 points.

Only five of us picked a 2-2 draw for this match.  Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head, this is the first "exact" prediction I've scored in a month.  Lets see if Aston Villa and Southampton will help me out today.

Santa seems not thinking about me, Am I even in his short list? 😛

You and I got coal in our stockings.  And here I was thinking I've been a good boy all year.

I have no wagers on today's fixtures, at least not yet.  I got skunked by all the upsets a couple of weeks ago, and I've been a tad bit timid with EPL since then.  I keep trying to force an Arsenal, but obviously my wagers aren't doing the trick, lol.

Lol, 7 rushing TDs, 0 passing.  Not your usual outing for the Saints and Brees.  That was an amazing performance by Kamara, 6 rushing TDs matches the league record, set in 1929, a 91 year old record.  That was damn cool to watch.

I'm not watching the game but damn, whoever has Kamara in their fantasy team, congrats on winning your league, almost 100 yards and 3 rush TDs AT THE HALF.

Even the announcers were talking about the fantasy implications.  I'm sure that won the week for anyone with Kamara on the team, and possibly sealed the season for many.

I don't know why I like the Satori's so much, it's not like I'm big poker player or gambler.  They're just so fucking cool.  And that's a sweet collection you have, lots of sequential rolls there.  Best of luck with the sale.

I need to add money to a website that accept only paypal. I will give the username and password to add the money.

You want some one to log into the website using your credentials, and pay for the service using their own PayPal?  What kind of website is this?  You're offering a big discount, which makes me suspicious.
2597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 25, 2020, 07:15:07 PM
Okay, here's what I'm thinking for this afternoon's game:

New Orleans -4.5 @ 1.78
Over 48.5 @ 1.74
Brees Passing TDs over 2.5 @ 2.28

That last one seems like a really good deal, the Viking's passing defense isn't likely to prevent three passing touchdowns.

In other news; the Titans have listed linebacker Will Compton as doubtful, the injury listed is "Haircut."

I've dealt with The Pharmacist before, but this is not email address that I've communicated with:

I also have gotten to know The Pharmacist as a contributing, and honest member of the forum who's unlikely to scam anyone.  I can say with certainty he wouldn't risk his reputation over 30€.

I found your Telegram ID by going through your post history.  My suspicion is that you posted this and a scammer promptly contacted you on Telegram impersonating The Pharmacist.
2599  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov plagiarizer and now trust abuser on: December 25, 2020, 05:40:25 PM
So, if Ratimov (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2627711) is being given negative trust for plagiarizing when they aren't actually plagiarizing then we as a community should take action to remove those users wrongfully leaving him trust.

I'm not wholly in agreement with that statement.  As I've said before, he hasn't technically plagiarized, at least not by the standards of the forum's rules.  But I also said:

Is that deceit intentional?...  It takes little to no effort to make it abundantly clear that you're quoting the work of others
~

Could it be possible that Ratimov has found a way to flaunt the forum's rules, and deceive it's users into rewarding him with merit and lucrative employment?  All it takes is one click of a button to use the forum's quote feature, making it abundantly clear this work is not originally yours.  By all appearances, Ratimov seems to have benefited by not clicking that button.  If some strongly feel he has done this deliberately, then I think that comes pretty darn close to the intent of plagiarism, even if it isn't technically plagiarism.  In such a situation, I think people are well within their rights to leave negative feedback, and that's not a misuse of the system.  In fact, I believe that's exactly what the system is for.  Myself, I have not come to that conclusion, but I can see how some could arrive there.

On the other hand, retaliatory feedback with no references, little substance, and lots of name-calling and subservient canines is a misuse of the system.  It certainly has no place on DT1.

he didn't actually plagiarize anything--hence he wasn't banned... mods aren't likely to do anything.

I never expected the mods to do anything, nor do I think they should.  The relative freedom we have in this forum is exceedingly rare, and I believe it's something to be celebrated.  I tend to agree that the rules were not broken, and therefore the mods should stay out of it.

But I also believe that the situation is not so simply "black or white," and that's where the trust system comes into play.
2600  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov plagiarizer and now trust abuser on: December 25, 2020, 11:08:03 AM
Everyone knows Ratimov is a huge plagiarizer and shit poster, but the staff don't ban him (not sure why).

Technicalities.  Because technically he has not broken any rules.  In his posts he includes links to the articles he's copied, translated, and pasted.  Yeah, the wording of some of the posts made it sound like he wrote the articles, which is deceitful, in my opinion.

Is that deceit intentional?  I don't know, but I don't like plagiarism.  It's theft, plain and simple.  It takes little to no effort to make it abundantly clear that you're quoting the work of others, yet it seems like Ratimov doesn't overly concern himself with giving others credit for their work.  I suspect that the amount of merit he's earned indicates that most people aren't aware the work he posts is not originally his.  I can't recall another member who's earned so much merit by quoting the work of others, and certainly not when it was clearly the work of others.

I don't care about the merit he's earned, the rank he's achieved, or who chooses to employ him, but this:

Why is he on DT?

That's a good question.  I don't see how he's made himself trusted enough to be on DT1.  Most of his recent left-feedback is retaliating against those who've called him plagiarist, which is not how I believe the trust system should be used.
