Since the Electrum releases are now being signed by multiple builders I thought it was a good time to update the OP to mention that fact, and also add the following link:

1942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 15, 2021, 09:14:56 PM
Is there anything better than City splashing millions in the transfer market and then losing in the 1st game of the season? Grin

I was thinking the same thing.  Watching City lose is almost as good as seeing Arsenal win most of the time, but after blowing a fortune on a striker who doesn't strike...  Priceless.

Tottenham Hotspurs did look good in the second half, though.  They flipped the script on City, which isn't easy to do.  The whole team looked good, and that goal by Son was flawless.  It must have felt extra good for that kid after all the press had written of Tottenham without Kane.  And to do it against the reigning champs must have his spirits up tonight.
1943  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: vareole is a scammer ... on: August 15, 2021, 08:55:48 PM
I believe him. Vareole is 100% a scammer. I think he is possibly elmanchez but can't actually confirm it.

Elmanchez is still around, he contacted me on Telegram not long ago.  First claiming he was going to repay me some day, with a story about how he lost his legs in the recent conflict between Azerbaijani and Armenia.  Just a few days ago he sent me a message asking for another $100.  Roll Eyes

It wouldn't surprise me if he is indeed Vareole.  We know he had a few alts on this forum.  Kind of reminds me of Vinsin in some ways, remember that loser?
1944  Economy / Reputation / Re: Several Accounts Misspelling Manchester City Footballer "Kelvin De Bruyne" on: August 15, 2021, 07:53:47 PM
Here you say that the Coinprenuer account is not your alt:

I'm just glad your getting to spot some differences between I and the said Coinprenuer. Its never been any alt of mine and I've got no alt.

And here you say that the Coinprenuer account will "never see the light of day."

I am banking on the fact that, the said Coinprenuer account is an account that has been inactive for over a year and some months, an account that is never to see the light of day as all ties with that account has been cut off.

If it's not your alt, how can you be so certain that the Coinprenuer account won't be used again?

I agree with you that you've shown some initiative in building your account over the last year and a half.  Maybe you can convince those who tagged to consider revising their tags to neutral, but if you're being dishonest about your connection the Coinprenuer account, that won't help you in that endeavor.

I hope I did not misspell anything in my post. Did I?  Grin

You nerver agreeed to teh deal, so I haben't bean checkking.
1945  Economy / Reputation / Re: REQUEST FOR ATTENTION OF: All betking.io Signature Campaign Participants on: August 15, 2021, 04:57:54 PM
Your ability to create flags does not impact my ability to create subsequent alt accounts and new threads.

You're right about that, but there's only so much we can do.  Scammers are gonna scam, victims are gonna be victimized.  I'm not trying to downplay it, it's a sucky situation.

I know you've campaigned for a welcome page that will attempt to warn newbies about the proliferation of scammers on this site, and it's a noble effort on your part.  It certainly couldn't hurt, but I don't think it'll solve much.  Here's a situation where it appears that the victim didn't even register an account on the forum before getting scammed.  The victim ignored the scammers flags and negative reviews.  All those flags and tags did nothing to prevent that scam.  Had the victim registered for an account and seen a scary warning message, would we have had any different of an outcome?  I reckon it would have likely been ignored just like the other warnings.

There are many out there who's greed will overcome their skepticism.  There's absolutely nothing we can do to prevent them from being scammed, and unfortunately those are ones scammers are banking on.
1946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 15, 2021, 04:18:21 PM
Quartararo still managed to extend his championship lead to 47 points ahead of second place.  It was a frustrating last two laps for him and Marquez, I'm sure.  The rest of the field was tip-toeing around the track on slicks, so they chose to gamble a pit stop.  In retrospect it appears that was the wrong decision.

It was an exciting race, none the less.  For a minute there it looked like Rossi had a podium spot after the leaders took to pit row.  Congrats to Binder on the win, fortune favors the brave, I guess.
1947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 15, 2021, 12:02:01 PM

Now back to that short-lived lap record at the Red Bull Ring, where the hell did this young kid, Jorge Martin come from?  Last week's win was impressive, but looked like a fluke of sorts and I didn't put a lot of thought into it.  Now he's taken pole two weeks in a row, and looks good to take the win tomorrow.  It'll be interesting to if he climbs the standings and over-takes the factory Ducati riders.

I think so too. But seeing this result my mind changed. Maybe he's really good in Austria.

In a few minutes again to start Moto GP. Wink
Will Martin be able to win again? hard to predict.
I think Quartararo will fight hard to win here, the gap between him and Martin by only 0.043 seconds is very small. Maybe Quartararo can be on the podium today.

It's starting to rain a few drops, everyone it frantically changing to softer tires now.  If it's a wet race look for Miller and the Marquez brothers to make some moves.  Marc has gone with the soft compound on the rear, he's expecting a damp track.

I'm still rooting for Quartararo.  And we're off!

Garapallo is done stick a fork in him.

What do you think Belichick would give us for him?  Grin

LOL just when I was typing this Lance almost got picked then threw one to no-where.

and sacked as I hit send Doh!

Lol, yeah he is a rooky.  He's bound to make some mistakes.  Like he just fumbled as I'm writing.

It's his physical attributes where he really stands out.  Learning the offence and avoiding mistakes will come with experience.  He's obviously an intelligent kid, it's just a matter of time.
1949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 15, 2021, 01:28:15 AM
Justin Fields had as good of a debut as Bears fans could have hoped for. I know it's a preseason game and we often overreact, but dude had some great plays, 140+ pass yards, a pass, and a rush TD (106.7 RTG), not bad for the rookie.

He had a rough start, a bunch of dropped balls, was nearly intercepted, lost a fumble, but he finished pretty darn hot.  He's incredibly fast for a QB, and those touchdown runs were a glimpse of his capabilities.

Lance about to take his first snap

First attempt; on the money, Aiyuk drops it.
Second attempt; gets sacked.
Third attempt; throws the long ball to Trey Sermon for an 88 yard touchdown play.  Nice.

He's looking pretty darn good for a rooky.  His first series was against the KC's first team defense.  He took sack, which is better than making a stupid mistake.  I don't think it's going to take long before he replaces Garoppolo.  Maybe the steep price they paid to get the third over all pick is justified after all.  I know it's only pre-season, and I am trying to contain my optimism, lol.

The grid is set for tomorrow's MotoGP race, here are the top 5:

I was surprised Quartararo was able to set a new lap record on the Yamaha at the Australian ring (short-lived as it was.)  That's quite impressive, and definitely a highlight for the Yamaha team after some drama this week.   Looks highly unlikely that Viņales will ever ride a Yamaha again.  I wonder if there's any truth to the claims that he deliberately caused the bike to malfunction last weekend.

Bad start for me in the pool too

Lol, talk about bad starts; I have to nail the scores on both of tomorrow's matches just catch up to you.

LFC did have a good outing today, it was a fun game to watch also.

@buwaytress,
Good start brother!

Congrats to BitcoinGirl.Club and buywaytress, neck and neck for taking the week's high score.  Best of luck to both of you.
1952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 14, 2021, 06:12:14 PM
Wenger was a brilliant manager, and while I know the narrative really turned on him in his last few seasons, but he's one of the best managers to ever manage in the Premier League era, and I'll stand by that word.

I had high hopes for Arteta, and he did pretty good for a few seasons, at least securing a spot in the Europa on an annual basis.  Sadly the club has been in a steady decline the last few years, and I've lost confidence in Arteta.  Oh, how nice it would be to see a brilliant young manager take the reins.

Oh man guys, what a bummer. Another special KO'd out of the water as Leicester Wolves couldn't score in Half Time, how sad.

That's big bummer.  It was looking like we were going to win that one, would have been amazing.  Kudos to Sportsbet.io for giving us that one, it was a lot fun.

1 point for CORRECT score.

I think you're right about getting 1.5 points, but I think you made a typo in the quoted text above.  You get 3 points for predicting the correct score, and only 1 point if you predict the correct outcome (i.e. correct match winner.)
1953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 14, 2021, 05:16:53 PM
almost all the strong clubs are starting this season with win.
Except Arsenal?

He did say "almost," assuming Arsenal is counted among the "strong clubs."  Quite a disappointing opening match for the Gunners.  Arteta didn't start his strongest crew up front, no Aubameyang or Lacazette.  Regardless, the defenders didn't give me a lot of confidence.  Hopefully that's not a preview of our season.

It's great to have the season finally under way.  The strong opener for ManU was fun to see, and LFC looks like they're off to a good start so far.
1954  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for .05 BTC - 1 BTC Loan on: August 13, 2021, 11:13:11 PM
Still looking for a loan. Can provide ID and identity confirmation to the loaner and also $2,000 in collateral in items I have. All are in excellent condition and working great, high quality items. About 20 things I could send you for about $70 USPS priority. Would fit in a small tote that I could pad and also take out insurance on for an additional $20. Message me for more information or for a list of the items if you are interested. Also let me know the APR you are looking for I am willing to do up to an 30% APR for $2,000 and lower and up to a 15% APR for $3,000 - $9,999. Anything over $10,000 I would do a 5% or lower APR depending on the amount!

No one will lend you $2000 for a bunch of worthless junk as collateral, and you're certainly not getting $10k or more.

Also to everyone posting, no I am not a scammer and I have posted collateral for this loan. You can take off your negative feedback now, thank you.

No you haven't, and no I think I'll keep mine in place, thank you.

Please remove my negative feedback as the "rule" for collateral is not even a rule anyway it is just a suggestion that is why it says in the title of the "collateral thread" "IGNORE AT YOUR OWN RISK" - there is no actual forum rule stating that you have to provide collateral to receive a loan.

There's no forum rule about posting feedback either.

By the way, is the collateral you're offering the same $2000 worth of junk you're trying to trade for a $3000 car?

You seem to have a very tenuous grasp on reality.
1955  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: vareole is a scammer ... on: August 13, 2021, 10:57:12 PM
and what is this "Self Moderated" stuff...

Freedom.  And the ability to keep your own threads from being spammed and driven off-topic.  It's quite helpful in many situations.

It's basically a hall pass for every scammer to just not allow anyone of their victims to post on their thread ...

Like any liberty, there are those who'll abuse it.

makes me think the mods are in it too ...

Nice try.  I understand the desire to shift the blame, but the mods aren't culpable.  You got scammed, the scammer is the only one to blame, but only you can prevent it from happening again.  Scams aren't moderated here on this forum.  There is no way for admin or mods to prevent every scam, and therefor any attempt will only lead to a false sense of security.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 13, 2021, 12:46:54 AM
I can do that Friday night the 3rd if people can do that night.  If people can't do the weekday nights then possibly the Friday, Saturday or Sunday the weekend before?  Are weekdays completely out?

I'm open to any of these suggestions.  I forgot that the Sept. 4th was Labor Day Weekend, I have motorcycle ride planned with a buddy that weekend.  I would probably be able to make it to a hotel room by 4pm (Pacific time equivalent to 7pm Eastern) to participate, but it would be difficult.  Friday the 3rd would be better for me, and I'm also open to the weekend of the 28th.  No pressure to make any changes on my account, I'll accommodate whatever decision is agreed upon.

I took the U38.5 on the WAS/NE game.

Lol.  That's probably a safe bet, until it isn't.  I'm very shy about betting on meaningless games, especially preseason NFL with so many unpredictable new players trying to noticed.  Good luck.

I don't really keep track of the days anymore and totally forgot it was Thursday!

Must be nice, braggard!  Tongue
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 12, 2021, 03:17:42 PM
so what do you think about conducting the draft on September 4th which is a Saturday between 7PM to 10PM EST?

This if fine with me.

The NFL is cracking down big time on taunting, you won't get away with only 15-yard penalty anymore, for two violations, you'll be ejected from the game and face suspension  Shocked

This reminds me of when they started flagging celebrations a few years ago.  That turned into a quite a fiasco, and if I remember correctly they reversed course on that rule the next year.  This probably wouldn't have even been an issue if it wasn't for that incident in the Super Bowl.  I expect some prominent players to get dinged by this rule for doing what they've been doing most of their lives; taunting each other on the field.  It's part of the game, part of almost any team sport for that matter.  Once the rule is applied in a controversial way, the resulting backlash will likely cause the league to reverse course next year.  It wouldn't be the first time.
1958  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor-Suite and OS tracks? on: August 12, 2021, 12:20:07 AM
I'm not sure that you can compare Trezor Suite with Electrum in an apples to apples type of way.  Electrum requires that you save wallet files locally, which is why it creates a hidden user directory.  Suite just reads the derivation paths from the hardware wallet to populate the information.  I would assume that any runtime environment files it needs will temporarily populate in the /run directory.

Admittedly, I've only used Suite with Windows, and used the installer.  I've never ran it in Ubuntu (my preferred Linux distro,) so I have no experience with the appimage.
1959  Other / Meta / Re: We need a new global moderator. on: August 11, 2021, 10:59:22 PM
I'll admit that I thought FlyingHellFish was a poor moderator of the P&S section because he was too biased, and I was of the opinion that his bias influenced his moderation duties.  For the same reasons I think QuickPrimeSeller7 would also be poor moderator of that section, even if I do agree with him (in political terms) more often than not.  If he's volunteering, my (presumptive) vote is "NAY."

I actually enjoy a political debate from time to time, but I find the P&S section to be more of a troll show than anything.  There are very few rational debates, and both liberals and conservatives end up reverting to trolling one another.  I often find myself succumbing to the trolling as well when I engage in those topics, which is why I tend to steer clear of most of the threads there.  It takes a lot of effort to remain calm and rational when most participants are engaging in such BS.  I don't envy anyone who tries to moderate that section.

1960  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum on flathub? on: August 11, 2021, 08:07:44 PM
The source of the binary is at least from electrum's official website and the hash matches from the source.
Lines 74-78: https://github.com/flathub/org.electrum.electrum/blob/master/org.electrum.electrum.json#L74-L78
However, there are lot of other requirements from "python3-requirements-binaries.json", "python3-requirements.json", "python3-requirements-hw.json" alongside the installation which you can check if something shouldn't be there (most checks out BTW).

But please don't take this as a vouch Lips sealed

That's a bit of a relief, but it's still troubling.  Something like this could be an attempt to get people comfortable downloading Electrum source from an alternative site, and turn into a trojan horse in the future.  I personally would recommend that people only use the official Electrum site or the GitHub repository, which is managed by the same crew.
