261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A Sudden Loss of Faith in Tether Would Pose Risk to Bitcoin, JPMorgan Says on: February 25, 2021, 11:08:48 AM

I must agree if Tether goes down, this will be a big problem for all cryptos because almost all stablecoins are in Tether.

A sudden Tether crash will lead to executions of orders with 20%-50% in all major exchanges, which will lead to mass disruption. Some people will buy coins 20%-50% cheaper, but the consequences will be harmful.

How are most of the stablecoins are in Tether?  Do people need to use Tether to buy stablecoins?  I know I can just use BTC or ETH to buy stablecoins without involving Tether.

I think he meant the most famous stablecoin out there. There's no doubt about it since the majority of Bitcoin trades are traded in USDT, it even outshines altcoin trades.

Anyway, it's not like it's the end of Bitcoin when people suddenly lose trust on USDT. By far USDT is probably the most suspicious stablecoins out there because of lack of audits and reports on their assets so other predators (other famous stablecoins) will likely try to market their coins to replace the spot of USDT.

I don't think there's going to be any big problem since people have a lot of choices to make. Either use another stablecoin, withdraw their money from exchanges, or use altcoins just like the old days. Sure there's going to be FUD happening that will affect all cryptocurrency (since almost every altcoin is using USDT for trades) but that's only temporary.
262  Economy / Economics / Re: 'Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money,' says Nigeria's central bank governor on: February 25, 2021, 10:40:01 AM
I don't know what's going through their head but I think they're just denial at this point. I mean, they could just label cryptocurrency as an asset and profit from it since Nigerian users are adopting crypto like crazy, rather than staying away from it. But hey who am I to say this. At least crypto holders in Nigeria is having a blast since Bitcoin over there is over $60,000.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone offer me that we can earn with our old ETH Addres. on: February 25, 2021, 10:08:58 AM
Someone offer me that we can earn with our old ETH Address  How's thay possible? He wants me to give my Private Key of my old address. The ETH ADDRESS that he want to access doesn't have anything. (But this is likely a scam).

Of course it is a scam. Don't even think that there's a possibility that it's not a scam. It's blatant. Is he your friend? relative? if it's someone random, then it's even worst. They didn't even try with that kind of trick. Might be good if you post a proof of who told you that so others can avoid or block him.
265  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: What is the most secure device to store Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2021, 09:51:28 AM
If you're really paranoid about this. Why don't you just buy another PC or Laptop and let that device be the storage for your crypto.? I mean, it's unnecessary because you already have a good hardware wallet but it will help with your mind. You can connect it to internet but don't do browsing or downloading in that device just to be safe.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Patience isn't everything on: February 24, 2021, 04:38:19 PM
dead coins

Which implies that you are mostly holding shitcoins that are new or have very low market value on the day you bought them. Don't do that. You only have a slim chance of actually getting a decent diamond from a pile of those shitcoins. Actually, don't listen to your friends. Make your own judgement from now on and do your own proper research. Patience is still the key to this. Look at Bitcoin and all the other old coins.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk twitted - Doge on the actual MOON! on: February 24, 2021, 04:11:35 PM
Elon loves memes and this is obviously a meme about Doge coin getting to the moon and I won't be surprise that people are actually taking this seriously. He has so much influence on Doge coin that it's kind of scary, just look at the price right now. He's becoming like Mcafee 2.0 at this point, but cooler.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Downtimes during Panic Trading will cause the next Crypto Market Crash on: February 24, 2021, 09:54:12 AM
I am calling it today. Binance usually goes down during peak and panic trading, which makes fear and uncertainties grow bigger. Most volume is being handled by Binance world wide. We are in a sad state with all these beautiful decentralised crypto currencies, but we all went for one exchange plattform because of low fees and convenience.

That's too far stretched of a prediction and it seems that you are wrong because Binance is back and there really wasn't any huge panic that you are speaking of. In fact, the price of Bitcoin actually pump from the recent dump. Remember, Binance might be the biggest but it doesn't hold all of cryptos volume.
269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon Musk looking to buy more Bitcoin ? on: February 23, 2021, 12:34:52 PM
It's quite funny though. He's one of the reason why Bitcoin pumped so hard this last couple of weeks yet he's also one of the reason why Bitcoin dump more or less $10,000 but it's kind of scary. The fact that he can manipulate the price of Bitcoin in just a single tweet can have a negative effect. Nonetheless, It's a good thing that he's pro on Bitcoin.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is unique of Binance smart chain on: February 23, 2021, 10:49:48 AM
As far as I know, unlike Ethereum who currently use Proof-of-Stake (POS in the future), Binance used Proof-of-Stake Authority which means lower fees and faster transfer speed compared to Ethereum. I don't know much about the details but it seems that Binance is more centralized than Ethereum but people probably didn't care about that much since as you can see, a lot of people are migrating to BSC
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 worth staking? on: February 23, 2021, 08:38:31 AM
The thing here is that if you want to stake by yourself, you need a minimum of 32 Ethereum, which is not cheap. I consider that a flaw to someone who's not a whale, not to mention it's going to be locked. By that it's the minimum so don't expect big returns. Though there's going to be exchanges that will provide staking services for no minimum amount but it's not the safest since you don't own the wallet.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO on GPU mining on: February 23, 2021, 02:31:04 AM
It's already profitable now to mine using the old GPU's I just tried again my GTX 1060 6GB in nice hash and I'm amazed how it is profitable unlike last those past years,

The fees are absurdly high right now. This is probably why even old GPU's are skyrocketing. Though I've heard just this month that NVIDIA is going to restock their GTX 1050 Ti and 2060 units because of the demand in GPU, they probably already restocked it now. Which is good news for gamers and miners alike.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1NiNja1bUmhSoTXozBRBEtR8LeF9TGbZBN on: February 23, 2021, 02:17:36 AM
This kind of activity really allows us to see that this guy must be a good guy (ah funny saying). I mean he could be living the life that he's always dreamed off (I do believe he had other reserves of BTC somewhere) and yet he's still humble to the point of helping out other people and actually contributing to projects. Good for him and for us!

He's probably living the life he's been dreaming of 10 years ago while automating this service. Imagine, being aware of Bitcoin for 10 years give you enough time to contemplate whether this tech is good or not. Anyway, the fact that he doesn't touch the Bitcoin in that wallet means he has hundreds of em already in another wallet.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Another Twitte for DOGE COIN on: February 22, 2021, 12:55:57 PM
Do you think guys it will pump again to 200 Sat's or more ?

I think you guys can stop dreaming now. Doge has been been milked multiple times already just this month alone. People learn and those who got FOMO'ed and lose the trades (and there's a lot of them) probably be swayed by Elon tweets again.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's come together and turn $500 into 500k through 3x10 exponential growth on: February 22, 2021, 04:01:18 AM
I don't think you will get enough person here OP. You're just starting another Pump and Dump group but blatantly announcing it instead of shitposting links to a telegram. You're just replicating WallStreetBets.

Someone was able making $2000 to the $500000 just in less than a month through investing in the legit ico. It doesn't even need to three times trade when you can pick the right project.
We shall start it dude and there's not a reason to say not about that. We have the same change as those people who have become new millionaires.
Find a good project and invest in it.  Cheesy

But the problem here is that finding that "good" project. There's already been cases were seems to be good projects ends up scamming users. There even projects handled by reputable campaign managers that ends up being a failure or a scam. So saying "invest in the legit ico" is better said than done.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to sell BTC compared to your net worth? on: February 21, 2021, 12:31:35 PM
Would you say someone like that should sell some btc?  Like at least half of it to at least earn some profit from it?

It depends. There should always a reason why you are doing things, same with meddling with Bitcoin. I mean, why would you sell your Bitcoin if you don't really need the fiat? are you hoarding fiat or something? remember, inflation will always make your fiat less valuable so you're actually losing more money storing your fiat in a bank or somewhere like in your piggy bank or something than investing it in stocks, real estate, or Bitcoin.

Personally, I prefer the majority of my net worth circulating in different businesses, investments, crypto, than stuck in a bank.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange Dogecoin for what? (I need advice) on: February 21, 2021, 12:16:39 PM
If I were you, I'd sell most of my Dogecoin since that coin is all about hype anyway. People have been pumping Dogecoin none stop lately so there might be a negative effect on that (remember wallstreetbets? remember Elon Musk?). Go for Bitcoin if you aren't sure. Eth is also a good investment but the fees are a turn off so it's going to have a hard time getting new players.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk: "Bitcoin is almost as bs as fiat money" on: February 21, 2021, 03:50:29 AM
Well the keyword there is "Almost" so I don't really think he's trying to manipulate the price nor giving a negative comment about Bitcoin. It's just that he is trying to make his own stand in cryptocurrency. He is enthusiastic about Bitcoin but at the same time open to more alternative ways. People shouldn't make a big deal out of this.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: February 21, 2021, 02:46:14 AM

That's not normal at all. Even my fastest transaction only cost like $20 compared to yours.

If you think you can use other platform, then do so because sometimes, Metamask eth gas fee is absurd. I you don't follow their standard fee, your transaction won't process at all.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think POLKADOT is still really undervalued on: February 20, 2021, 06:16:20 AM
I have this funny theory that projects like DOT and ADA would have been closer to ETH by marketcap by now if not for the Binance Smart Chain. Binance was smart enough to pull a move under their nose Grin The've taken a lot of markets (DEX and DAPPS) that were expected to migrate from Ethereum.

^ See what I mean?

yes, when i write this post binancecoin now become TOP 3 coin at coinmarketcap lists replacing USDT
so, this is enough proof, if binance coin is better than cardano or polkadot
but i support the OP if at this moment Polkadot price still undervalued

What do you mean? the fact that Polkadot is already at the top 4 means that it's already showing it's value. Not to mention it's a new hyped project so it's hasn't really made that significant impact compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum. I know that it has the potential to contribute more in the future but that doesn't really mean it's undervalued as of this moment.
