Schon seit geraumer Zeit frage ich mich, was der gesonderte Unterhalt eines "Biete" und eines "Suche" Unterforums im deutschen Subforum eigentlich bringen soll.

Jetzt habe ich mich endlich aufgerafft, das Thema endlich mal zur Sprache zu bringen.

Meiner Meinung würde die Zusammenfassung der drei Foren "Biete", "Suche" und "Auktionen" zu einem Forum "Marktplatz" entsprechend der Struktur im Hauptforum nur Vorteile bringen. Da jeder der etwas anbietet auch im Gegenzug etwas sucht und jeder der etwas sucht im Gegenzug auch etwas anbietet (und sei es nur einen ordentlichen Scam ) ist es eindeutig redundant und sinnfrei dafür zwei gesonderte Foren zu unterhalten. Dies führt nur zu Doppel-Posts und erhöht den Suchaufwand für Interessenten.

Die Kategorie "Auktionen" fristet ein Schattendasein. Es macht wenig Sinn hierfür noch eine weitere Kategorie zu unterhalten. Im Gegenteil würde die Vereinigung aller drei Kategorien die Nachfrage und den Erfolg von Auktionen eher beleben. Auktionen könnten innerhalb des Markplatz-Forums mit dem Tag "[AUKTION]" in der Überschrift markiert werden.

Später, wenn der deutsche Marktplatz wächst, könnte man darüber nachdenken, auch Unterkategorien für Waren und Dienstleistungen (wie im Hauptforum) einzuführen. Im Moment wäre das aber eher zuviel des Guten.

Sorry, but that's silly. The principle of SegWit isn't that complex. Compared to various altcoins like Ethereum or ZCash it's much easier to understand and maintain. It's an ingenious solution to make storage use of the blockchain more efficient. In addition it's a security improvement by fixing transaction malleability.

SegWit was thoroughly tested by various experts over many months. The FUD stories of Roger Ver and his propaganda trolls is entirely unwarranted - in fact the true threat are excessive blocksize increases which would destroy network decentralization.

This scenario doesn't make too much sense in my opinion. Controlling 10% of the hashpower in 7.5 years might be much harder than controlling 50% today, because the difficulty may be 100x or 1000x times higher than what it is today. The number of big mining operations will certainly increase in the coming years.

If Central Banks wanted to control the network, they could still do it now for chump change (related to their asset dimensions). But maybe the question is not about money alone. It could also be one of technical expertise. The officials at Central Banks don't know how to set up a mining operation.

ViaBTC is a bribed pool under the indirect control of Roger Ver. Their offering of cloud mining services can be considered a desperate attempt by Ver to maintain his reckless blocking attempt of Segregated Witness via hashrate expansion.

So even if ViaBTC's cloud mining service is not scamming its users, using their service means scamming the Bitcoin community, because every cent spent on ViaBTC is an indirect donation to Roger Ver. The Unlimited altcoin promoted by Roger Ver through his propaganda site Bitcoin.com must be considered a direct attack on the decentralized nature of the Bitcoin network.

Ver's motives are clear: blocking progress in Bitcoin development to increase the value of his numerous altcoin investments.

He may have started his revolution out of the morally sound motive to free people from dictatorship, but ended up becoming a dictator himself. That kind of career is symptomatic for many revolutionary leaders, who are absorbed by principles, but not by compassion for the people.

I don't think so. The file is the exactly the same as was used previously.

I remember the avatar-related security issues in the past. But I'm not aware that these were caused by gif animations.

The only reasonable explanation I could imagine is that animations may distract from content. But the animation I used is so minimal that it's unlikely the case.

Note that my animated avatar used less than 1% of the maximum allowed file size. If I'd be mean, I could upload a new 100 KB static avatar just to express my frustration by draining more forum resources...

After changing my avatar and trying to change it again to the original one - a very simple two frame animation of the vegetable you can see now (872 Bytes in total size), the forum did not allow me to add the original animation file which used to be my avatar since years.

Since when is it no longer allowed to add animated gifs and what's the rationale behind this policy? Why does it apply to legacy avatars as well?

Wouldn't it make more sense to restrict the use of avatars via file size only?

This is the first time I've checked out the new beta forum at https://beta.bitcointalk.org/ and I have to admit that I'm quite shocked to find it JavaScript only and ridden with google analytics spyware.

Maybe 95% of users don't care (or don't even notice), but as a security conscious user this is totally unacceptable for me. Frankly I'm a bit surprised to find such an degree of gross security and privacy negligence in a Bitcoin forum.

Nunja, irgendwann muss man auch liefern. Nur ankündigen reicht nicht. Ich bin eher skeptisch, was Kims neue Projekte betrifft. Kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die ähnliche erfolgreich sein werden wie Megaupload seinerzeit - Bitcoin hin oder her.

Die Welt hat sich verändert. Viele Nutzer sind inzwischen bereit, für legalen Content zu zahlen (siehe z.B. Netflix).

Super! Das ich das noch erleben darf: Ein Hoffnungsschimmer der Selbstbestimmung.

Die KMS haben schon allein Nostalgie-Wert. Auch als (mahnende) Erinnerung für die Kinder und Enkelkinder. Ich gönne mir diesen Luxus.

Ich bin absolut kein Freund der ständigen Heranziehung anderer Währungen als Wertmaßstab für Bitcoin. Bitcoin ist hier die Referenzwährung. Die behauptete Wertsteigerung bleibt hypothetisch, da ich die BTC nicht umzutauschen gedenke. Außerdem hätte der Kurs ja auch genauso abstürzen können, ohne dass ich deshalb den BTC-Startpreis nach oben angepasst hätte.

Außerdem sind auch 110 Euro immer noch deutlich unter dem Ausgabepreis der KMS.

Da ich aber einsehe, dass der Mainstream sich auch hier am Euro orientiert, senke ich den Startpreis hiermit auf 0,15 BTC (inklusive Versand) ab, um dem jüngsten Ansteig Rechnung zu tragen.

Zur Auktion kommen 2 komplette Kursmünzensätze BRD Stempelglanz ADFGJ der Jahre 2007 und 2008 (also insgesamt 10 Einzelsätze). Beide mit zusätzlicher 2-Euro Gedenkmünze: "Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" bzw. "Hamburg".
