I think that the Pakistan cricket board knows very well about the impact their approach to the pitch has created. That also is a big reason why the pitch of the third test is not like the previous two. In this match, the bowlers are certainly finding some success, unlike the previous two test matches.

One other reason may be that both Australia and Pakistan teams of same level that's why are seeing tough competition.  Still we have 3 more days to go and if Australia can get Pakistan out tomorrow and take lead of 100 or 200 then surely they are in a position to win this game. My guess is that it will be a draw.

Now there is no International T-20 Match. Waiting for most popular Leaugue IPL.IPL will start 26th March. This season two new team added.T-20 match is most popular and most enjoyable game more than any format game. Many cricket waiting for IPL. IPL is most entertrin game.I hope this season IPL will be more enjoyable.

Yes beyond any doubt and argument, IPL is biggest cricketing event in terms of revenue generation and entertainment. World top players are always part of IPL edition. This year Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are two new teams becoming part of IPL, now there will be total 10 teams. Let's see whether CSK can retain there title or not.

We have an interesting ODI match coming up tomorrow between Bangladesh and South Africa. The series is levelled so far as both have won one match. Asian teams don't have good record playing at South Africa. It will be Bangladesh first ever win at South Africa if they won tomorrow match.
Since 20121, South Africa has played 15 matches winning 7 only while in 6 they have to face defeat. Seeing these stats, there are fare chances of Bangladesh win tomorrow.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 22, 2022, 04:16:02 PM

Actually having three test matches in every series might not be the best idea. If it is actually done, I mean three test matches in every series then I think cricket might lose a lot more popularity altogether.

I actually think test cricket is holding cricket back as a whole. Don't get me wrong. I love this cricket and I am sure that the players also enjoy playing test cricket.

But, yes it is not enjoyable for the fans. seems fans are the main source of revenue, it's better to give the other formats of cricket a lot more time than test cricket right now.

I think every board is independent in deciding how many test matches will be played in there home tour. For instance, in NZ there are always 2 test matches in every series. They don't like playing much test. If board is getting benefit only then they are playing more test cricket. I do agree that there cricket fans like T20 format only.

Australia are going unchanged squad for the third series decider match against Pakistan in Lahore at the Gaddafi Stadium. Pakistan happy after making flat dead pitches against Australia as they're only looking draw! It would be possible the third match also ends in draw. What is the point in playing the series as both team are losing WTC percentage. Have a feeling another test draw is loading. 3 test draw will be quite boring, isn't it? If the match would end to a draw then Pakistan will slip to number 4 in test championship points table.

The criticism PCB has faced after first two test matches will definitely will be in minds before making the pitch for final test match. Australia bowlers have shown good performance even on dead surface of karachi pitch. PCB has every right to make pitch of his choice just like Warner has right to hit six on dead ball of Hafeez. Is there any icc regulations on making pitch for test ?

de Kock absolutely devastated the bowlers of Bangladesh. I agree that Bangladesh did not read the pitch well. It was a bowling pitch at first. And it was obvious that  Parnell getting injured helped Bangladesh to get at least a few runs on the board, otherwise, it could have been a lot worse.

Afif was the only one who tried to put up a fight and scored 72 runs. The top order of Bangladesh absolutely failed. South Africa had an easy victory of seven wickets.

Bangladesh after scoring 300+ runs in first ODI failed to score even 200 today. The main reason for this is that shakib was out on zero. Bangladesh team is extremely dependent on Shakib. Kagiso Rabada was the man for SA who destroyed Bangladesh batting by taking 4 wickets. I am sure SA will win 3rd ODI also.

Test cricket is something that does require a lot of skill. ODI cricket also requires a good amount of skill. But, I feel like T20 is the format where you can go absolutely crazy as a Batsman and get rewarded for it. yes, T20 is the most important format of cricket right now in the whole world.

To be honest, at this moment most people don't have enough time to watch even an ODI match, to see you down and watch cricket for 100 overs can hamper a lot of productivity. And in this matter test cricket is absolutely out of the question. T20 is probably the only format that can be enjoyed by maintaining other work.

Majority of people just check score of test on websites like espncricinfo.com or on TV, I don't think there will be any working person who spare his 5 days for test match. T20 format along with leagues has revived cricket to new and old countries where cricket was dying. That's the reason every country is taking t20 format very serious.

Second ODI between South Africa and Bangladesh scheduled for today. Since the series is a part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, another defeat for South Africa will push them further towards oblivion. Right now they just have 39 points from 11 matches and are placed at the 10th spot behind West Indies and Pakistan. They need to win at least half of their remaining matches, else they need to play in the qualifying tournament in order to gain an entry to the ODI world cup of 2023. Bangladesh on the other hand is very comfortably placed.

Yes it will start shortly at Johannesburg. Bangladesh played quite well in first game but there only issue is consistency. They have won the first match but they don't have the capacity to repeat that in coming matches. This is dilemma of Bangladesh for last 2 decades. My bet today will be on SA as they will definitely take revenge of first ODI defeat.

No one has enough time to go through an entire test match. It takes 40 hours of your time. Only if you are a student, or a retired person, you have this much time available with you. And look at the ongoing test matches, such as the one between England and West Indies, and the one between Pakistan and Australia. What you will gain from watching these useless matches. Both the teams make 500 plus scores and then the match ends in a draw. You want to waste 40 hours of your time to watch such matches?

Test cricket was invented in time when people have ample time to spare, it's not invented in current time. To meet mood of 21st century people, T20 has jumped in and so far it has done quite a fair job in promoting cricket to new countries. The second match between Pakistan and Australia was exciting till the last ball, as Aussies were looking for victory while Pakistan wanna draw.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 20, 2022, 03:50:24 AM

Remainder of the series will be exactly the same. Pakistan knows that they don't have the capability to defeat Australia. So they played defensively and asked the curator to prepare a dead track, which offer no support for the bowlers. Same was the case with the West Indians. They also aimed for a draw, and they got that in the end. The only ones who are losing out here are the spectators. They are spending so much money and time to watch these matches and what are they getting in return? A few matches that end with no result?

Your analysis may be true in case of Pakistan, though i firmly believe that Pakistan is capable of beating Australian as they did in 2018/19 in UAE. But WI have recently won ODI series against England, why they made a pitch like that ? We have one test coming up in lahore and chances are that pitch will he made in a way that match must not draw.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 19, 2022, 10:47:02 AM

I don't think India's collection was inadequate. The main reason for their defeat was that the bowlers could not play well. Australia's first 3 batsmen have destroyed India. The first 3 batsmen collected 212 runs. Meg Lanning returned to the dressing room with 97 runs. He missed his century for just 3 runs.
Australia has won all five matches. It looks like Australia will win the Women's World Cup without a hitch this time. The performance of their players is admirable.

This WC has lost its charm as Australia is unbeaten so far and it seems very much likely that they will take the Cup home. Apart from that full credit to teams of WI and SA for beating teams like NZ and England. I am sure in next WC we will see more improved performance from India and Bangladesh.
Even today India gave a decent target of 277 but couldn't defend it, purely a bowlers fault.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 19, 2022, 08:57:14 AM

Braithwaite is still playing comfortably and has now scored more than 100 runs. I think if he stays there till the end of day 4 then WI will be able to lead trail. England would like to get his wicket if they want to win this match. Still the chance of this match getting draw is pretty high.

Kraigg Brathwaite and Jermaine Blackwood are the star performer of WI first innings. If WI score 300 runs on day 4 then they have lead of 81 runs only. If England can bowl out WI in first session of day 4 with lead of 100 or 150 then there is some chance of England winning the game. My bet is on draw of this game.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 19, 2022, 05:19:05 AM

I totally agree with you. England vs West Indies match was completely boring. Boring batting. No matter how hard the bowlers try, they are not able to take wickets. It is meaningless to bowl well on such a pitch. The ICC should look forward. And the ICC should play a role in pitch selection. We ordinary spectators do not expect such a boring match. If it continues like this, cricket will lose more spectators

Definitely a draw as WI are now 219 runs behind with 6 wikcets in hands, only two days left for two complete innings. ICC has nothing to do with pitches please stop this discussion. In test format such things are happening ever since cricket started and will continue to happen as long as test cricket is there.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 19, 2022, 05:07:58 AM

India women's team has given a target of 278 runs. And I think that's enough to win, even though the opponent is mighty Australia. But to win, the bowlers must perform well. If the bowlers do not perform well, they will lose against the Australian women's team even if they give more than 300 targets. 278 runs is a big enough target. India is still in the safe zone. Let's see how the Indian bowlers perform.

Australia Women team hasn't lost any match in WC till now and if India win today it will be the biggest upset of the tournament and will India Women team lot of confidence for future. A win will brighte chance of India making it to semis. Meanwhile,  Australia has made a positive start of innings and are 28/0.

There is development regarding Australia tour to Pakistan as Pak minister says Australia white-ball matches moved from Rawalpindi to Lahore. Political rallies later this month scheduled in Islamabad - the twin city of Rawalpindi - has led to the change of venues
This is very sensitive nature tour and Pakistani administration totally knows this and they are trying there best to make it a successful tour.

This Nepotism, Personal links and bribery is all now part of this cricket game in subcontinent as it is most famous game and many peoples want to have some name and wealth through this so from this we have many bad players and some done good like we have Imam-ul-Haque he is nephew of Legendary Pakistan captain Inzi and now doing good even have some good criticism but still going through and now done some magical performance against Australian side so it is almost part of culture we can't ignore this until we have very strong domestic system and boards without any political influence which is not possible in next few decades because of their deep connections.

But still BCCI is having some better policies and this is giving them some good benefits and skilled players those are performing at top level in good way.

Imam ul haq no matter how good he performs has made his way to national team only because of his uncle Inzama ul Haq. Another such player is usman qadir who is son of Pakistani cricketer Abdul Qadir. Can't say about BCCI and BCB but this nepotism has greatly ruined every field of life in Pakistan not just cricket. Its part of culture now.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 18, 2022, 03:25:05 AM
The quota system is not there for the women's team in South Africa? They are a very talented side. The only reason why the performance of South Africa has gone down is because of talented players migrating to other countries due to the quota policy. In women's cricket it is not an issue, since the salaries are low even in countries such as New Zealand and England. So if a player want to migrate to another country, she need to make sure that she gets in to the national team. Playing for one of the county sides will not provide enough funds to replace full time job.

There are dual policies for men and women cricket. BCCI who is arrogant enough and doesn't allow its men to take part in other leagues has no objection in his women cricketers to play WBBL or other leagues. SA board policy you just highlighted.
Meanwhile Bangladesh women are looking to register there second win of the tournament against mighty WI, as they need 56 runs in 18 overs.

England managed to set up such a massive total, after so long. Nice to see Ben Stokes getting a century, and Joe Root making another big score. Dan Lawrence was quite unlucky to miss his hundred. The West Indian bowling looked dull, and only Veerasammy Permaul looked impressive in parts. BTW, Matthew Fisher is making his debut for England and he has already picked up his first wicket (that of John Campbell, caught behind by Foakes). He is having a smooth bowling action and has the capability to make it big in the coming years.

Thank God you give credit to batsmen rather then blaming the board and curator for making a flat pitch that will take the match to draw. Definitely your moral goes down if you opponent keep on scoring runs, West Indies have a tough day ahead. They are still 436 runs behind England total, they should try to score at least 350 in there first innings to remain in the match.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 18, 2022, 02:22:03 AM

LOL.. I don't know if fans were permitted in to the stadium to watch the match. If they were in case permitted, then in all probability after the first day none of them would had the courage to go back to the match. It was so boring. If the ICC has any balls, they should deduct points from Pakistan in the WTC table for preparing such substandard pitches. Anyway, I am not expecting much from the ICC, as they have failed to act on previous occasions when Bangladesh and Sri Lanka did the same to visiting sides.

The last two days of second test were full of excitement for those who were following the match. I too don't watch the test match very often but did watched last days play. Aussie bowlers really took the criticism away from pitch when they bowl out whole Pakistani team on 148. 2nd Test was very exciting that we have to admit.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 18, 2022, 02:17:03 AM

Just end of second day play with score on board is 71/1 which mean they have done some good performance after big score from England, and now they have to stay at crease for long time which is possible due to this pitch behavior as it is also batting track, and we can expect one or two centuries from West Indian batsmen tomorrow first session will give us very clear picture of this test match because if English bowlers can dismiss one or two batsmen then surely they can take some healthy lead otherwise it is surely going to end another dead rubber with almost we have last three matches two in Pakistan and one in West Indies.

After seeing 2 days play I am of the view that this test will also end in a draw just like the first one until England bowlers do some magic on day 3 and bowl out WI around 300. WI board is not facing criticism that is faced by PCB for making flat pitche, don't known what's the reason for that.
